Nuro in Guildford

This was just really excellent, fresh, simple food. Two starters (aubergine patlican I think, and a simple feta salad, followed by a couple of lamb shish. Everything was delicious and meat was super tender. Highly recommended. Service was also just right.

went for a meal with friends - table booked for 6:30. Ordered straight away Food still hadn't arrived by 7.15 - when it did arrive one of the orders was wrong. The result was that we were late for the function we were attending at G-live. Disorganised and under staffed - far tyo focussed on their deliveroo takeaway business. Will not return

Visited this Kebab shop last night on my return from the Rugby World Cup. I have to say that at £11.70 for a takeout kebab is shockingly overpriced for what you actually receive. You can’t go wrong with salad but the chilli sauce was CARROT based and the meat, very little, burnt and chewy. It was obvious that it was the dregs and as I was taking away, easy to be palmed off ! Don’t recommend in the slightest

A real treat to visit here, the food is delicious. Can eat in, there is a nice seating area. Friendly staff, and good portions. Lovely fresh salad, the doner meat is so thin, crispy and delicious, not greasy on the plate. Two types of pitta bread, lovely hot crunchy chips. Fresh home made chilli sauce and garlic yoghurt sauce. They also do shish kebabs, on an open fired charcoal bbq. They have chicken doner too. Good range of drinks, we always have the ayran yoghurt drink. My kids love the place. The restaurant has a nice buzz about it. It's up there with the best kebabs I've had, really excellent.

Had the family mixed grill which everyone enjoyed. Have been coming here for years and Nuro is consistently excellent. Friendly staff, delicious food, always popular.

Best Turkish restaurant ever across Guildford and Kent. My husband visits it the last 27 years and together the last 5 . The food has same taste, quality and consistency through the generation’s who have this business. I would recommend highly this place as their food is always tasteful and delicious moreover with quality grilled meat. Amazing Eastern cuisine experience. Usually we had chicken doner, lamp seesh, lamp chops, hummus. The atmosphere is calm and the service pleasant.

Late night kebabs are far from the most glamorous of foods; least of all when you had a few sherbets but if you're in need of late night munch, this place is decent. I ordered their mixed doner, offering a generous portion with serves well with garlic and chili sauce as always. Probably the best kebab place in Guildford.

Used to go here all the time, but after this evening we won’t be back. The small kebab is literally tiny, I ate in about 3 mins and the small chips is ridiculous. You used to get great portions, now even the large os what the small used to be. 1 x small shish, 1 x large shish, 1 x small chips and 2 drinks - nearly £30! And it wasn’t even a decent size! Still tasted good, but def no longer value for money

The doner has become an almost integral part to the English food culture, yet most doner shops do not give it the respect it deserves. Nuro offers döner and Kebabs in a restaurant set up,and the environment is nice. You are seated, a menu given to select your food, drinks are served including beer and wine which is very hard to get in a doner place. The above alone elevates the humble doner and makes it an experience. From a taste perspective, the lamb leaves much to be desired, but the chicken was very good. The experience is a mix of restaurant and pub, and with the right crowd the environment could be electric. Of course for all this, you will end up paying £2 more than the usual doner shops. And it's the same difference for their takeaway to dining.

Nuro is a place we visit whenever were in Guildford, it has been in Guildford for many years and the food and service is always fantastic. Specifically on the food which I find to be top quality in terms of turkish cuisine, always fresh and flavoursome. I highly recommend a visit.

Sunday lunch order. Really dry, salad had obviously been out last night and looked dry and the lettuce was on the turn. Tiny portion for price. Guildford Kebab Centre smashes this place out the park.

Visited here last night after a long day and no lunch. Can always count on a nice big kebab to fill you up when you are starving, but apparently not at this joint. Ordered the 'mixed kebab' which is only available in "large", and at £15 was expecting a feast of chicken shish, lamb shish and lamb kofte on a bed of 'homemade' lamb doner. What arrived was a small plate with 2 nuggets of chicken, 2 of lamb and 2 small pieces of kofte (none of these would have filled a cocktail stick let alone a kebab shop skewer) on top of some doner meat with a litlle salad. I was quite amazed how they had managed to make their homemade doner taste exactly the same and be just as greasy as any other kebab shop. I did eat it though as I was hungry, and had to order a portion of £4 chips (small bowl) extra. I will say the shish and kofte were very good and the house chilli sauce was great - but spending £20 in a kebab shop you should be struggling to walk out - I had to walk to Tesco to get a sandwich!

Each dish has a different flavour. I have been here numerous times. It's one of the best restaurants in Guildford! The chef does really, really good food! The waitress is so pretty. I would love to fall in love with her. The service is also great. I love Nuro so much!

I really like the donor and the lamb shish! It tastes very good! The restaurant is clean and tidy and the staff are friendly. Besides, I like the Guildford Special very much. Rice pudding is also very delicious and amazing.

Possibly the only kebab shop in the western world which is closed at 10pm on a Friday. Kind of a joke fellas, sort it out, lest you close forever.

Freshly cooked and always excellent. Taste 10/10 - recommend. Why pay more when you can get this quality at such a great price point.

Been refused service twice in a month, both for turning up 7min & 12min before closing time! On both occasions went to Diamond kebab instead, next to Guildford Train Station, better service & tasty food

Love a kebab and seeing as I was in Guildford I though I would try one of theirs. Ordered a lamb Shish chicken shish and was not disappointed, salad was great and home made chilli sauce was great.

Bought a chicken shish kebab and a chicken Doner Wrap, Chicken shish kebab was ok however the Chicken Doner wrap was terrible the meat was hard and dry.

If I could give mo stars I would. Placed and paid for order. No show. Disgusting. Am disabled can't get to store so ordered. 🙄

We have not lived in Guildford for 10 years and was passing and thought we’d give our favourite kebab house a visit, and oh god what a great idea! As soon as we walked in the owners recognised us after not seeing us for a decade! The food is as incredible as we remembered. The doner meat is the best we’ve ever had nothing compares to it, the food is as amazing as the owners and their customer service. Their home made chilli sauce is also out of this world. The portions are massive and so reasonably priced for good quality home made food. We will come to Guildford again just for their kebabs. Thank you guys and lovely to see you as always.

Used to really enjoy this place. Couldn't get a chicken shish wrap at 10:45 on a Friday night, just wouldn’t cook it as too late. Not happy. Will try to come earlier next time.

So the first time i went to Nuro Kebab was circa 2010. I was a medical student living near by and new to guildford. I came across Nuro and it became my go to place. I came back 10 years later and im glad to say it hadn't changed. The lamb doner is great and their other kebabs made on a charcoal grill which i had tried previously. I took my younger brother with me, it was his first time and he agreed -he does love a kebab. So all i can say is, if you're in the area give them a try. They also have a separate restaurant for a more family oriented experience.

Four of us sat down for a meal and to describe it as 'average' would be very generous. We all had different meals. The table service was very friendly. Food was slow to come out, people going in for takeaways were served before we were....

Nuro never disappoints - it’s quality, it’s sizes and staff are TOP. Great service, friendly, superclean, yummy, totally satisfying! Best takeaway in town! The owner is also superawesome. A true gem in town.

Me and my partner came here last night to get a takeaway. 1 lamb doner kebab, one chicken shish in a wrap and a portion of chips. We waited about 30 minutes for our food and I wish we hadn't bothered. honestly couldn't believe how dry and salty the meat was in both meals and how bland the chips were. And the portion sizes were pathetic, I've seen kids meals with more food. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Perfect mezzes starter and lamb shish before a concert at G Live. Certainly not the most attractive place but friendly staff and good food.

Excellent meal. The lamb chops were the best. Meze starters for four was excellent value. Mixed grill was a hit with two of our members.

Very good, really. I always eat falafel there, and I leave quite satisfied, I like the flavor better than how they do it in Spain. It is also true that so far it is the only Kebab I have gone to outside of Spain. The only drawback I see is that it doesn't have a bathroom.

Best kebabs in Guildford without a doubt, only caveat is service isn’t great, servers are polite and friendly it’s just it takes forever for anything to arrive and that includes drinks and food, don’t come here if very hungry but apart from that lovely restaurant.

Turkish cuisine is my favourite (being Mediterranean myself), so my expectations are high! Ι love a juicy, tender chicken shish and the, usually, homemade fluffy bread and dips that come with it. We visited Nuro as I've been looking for good turkish restaurants in Surrey for a while. We decided to have a sit in instead of a take away to get the full experience. Starters; cacik (quite good, not too garlicy) and tabuleh (very disappointing, not sure if they forgot the dressing/lime?). My partner had the yogurtlu which he enjoyed, but he could do with a bit bigger portion. I had the chicken shish, the meat was great, but there was something missing from the plate which was only served with salad (no rice). The biggest disappointment was the bread (I'm a bread lover) which was shop bough cypriot bread. Chili sauce was great. IF they had made their own bread to come with the kebabs, given the very reasonable prices, that would be a winner! As it is, I'd say an average kebab which I'd only have as take away.

The restaurant is always busy but serve food quickly. The price starts just over 5 pounds for take away and very reasonable.

I know what a good kebab is, here is not that. Chicken is dry, lamb is too. You pay a premium price for something that lacks flavour and is rather dry...wish I went to the fish and chips shop, also portion size is not good either. I'm not being greedy, just honest and comparing, there's better competition out there you can put your money towards. Just don't bother, you can rustle up something at home way better quality. Especially for the price you pay.

The best restaurant in Guildford and Surrey no doubt. Fresh food, cooked fresh to order, the value is great and the atmosphere welcoming.Great selection of Mezes and their Chicken and Lamb kebabs very tasty and their homemade doners the best around. Guildford is lucky to have a place like Nuro.

I've visited Nuro since moving to Guildford back in the late 90s. Ive always been a fan. But after last night we won't go back.

Based on food quality this place does the best kebabs in Guildford hands down. Always tasty, hot and good portions. Food takes a little longer than would hope but happy to wait for quality. Staff friendly, when sitting in the restaurant service can be a little slow but all in all great place. We are regulars and will continue to visit.

I’ve lived in Guildford for most of my life, and Nuro is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to - bar none.

I eat here frequently and have never been disappointed. The meat is flavoursome and freshly cooked. The portion size is perfect and the accompaniments are original and tasty.

Pretends to be Mediterranean/Turkish but the food tastes so un original and tasteless. The vine leaves have no taste at all. This place seems to have been catering for those who have never tasted Mediterranean food hence the high rating. Very very disappointed.. not worth the detour

If yopu facny a kebab or some grilled meat then this is a great place to go. The staff are friendly and the servcie is quick. Try the lamb chops for grilled meat as it should be served.This is basic good food cooked well. No fancy food or ingredients here here jusy simple tasty fresh food.

I ordered a chicken shish, the chicken was cooked OK some bits were dry, but overall tasted OK. The little bit of salad that accompanied the dish white cabbage and lettuce one piece of tomato was poor. There was no chili sauce so the meal was dry. The naan bread was served separate with a few chilies on a separate plate. I have honesty eaten better take away kebabs than this. I would not go out of my way to recommend this restaurant. With a glass of coke the bill came to £15.

Good quality foods at reasonable prices

Frozen chicken burger. 4.20 for a dry bun and a 20% chicken burger, can get 16 high quality wings and chips for the equivalent in London. Quality is below poor, a rip off for the people of Guilford. More authentic kebab/chicken shops in every other UK town. Shambolic.

We had a weekend break in Guildford and found this great kebab house just minutes from where we were staying. Staff were very friendly and polite, and the service very efficient although they were busy.

Conveniently located and open till late on some days. Although, very overpriced for the type of food you get.

Briefly visited Guildford for a business trip, tried Nuro and glad that I did. The lamb is outstanding and excellent customer service. Will definitely return if back here. Cheers, Sam

After experiencing multiple kebab shops and vans I can safely say that in my opinion Nuro is the best tasting kebab in Guildford. I have been going here since I was a kid and I will continue to go here for years to come.

Popped into town and got a doner and lamb shish mixed kebab for just under £10. It was freshly cooked and tasty and I’d recommend. Very busy at 7pm on a Saturday night.

I quite often get a chicken kebab from here and I'd say they're bloody marvelous!

Me and my boyfriend visited here for dinner last night as really fancied a kebab, definitely a good choice for food as the kebabs and chips were delicious! Couldn’t get enough of the bread and dips either was really good quality.
