The Seahorse in Guildford

Just love the food at the seahorse. Have been four times now and never had good service. Every time I have had to get up either to ask if we can order food or drinks or for the bill. Such a shame but won’t go again

Hosted a small christmas works meal here. Food was excellent especially the Pork Belly. Would definitely recommend.

Another return visit back to The Seahorse today, this time for a family Christmas lunch, the food was simply amazing! Wow! The service was great as always too! Thank you to Hannah, Harry, Molly and the rest of the team! Will be back again soon!

I had the duck pizza which was soggy and tasteless. The sticky toffee pudding was also tasteless. The restaurant looks lovely and christmassy but the drinks were expensive and tiny. Not good value for money!

A table for 4 was booked for 5.30 before going onto GLive The pub was rammed with RGS teenagers and parents.We had to search for a member of staff to show us to our table and then faced a considerable wait for service. The waiter then apologetically told us that the grill was broken so burgers or steaks were unavailable. We ordered starters, the calamari was passable but the olives and rustics breads were laughable, 5 thin slices off a toasted ciabatta roll does not warrant being classified as rustic breads. After waiting for over 30mins, we had to ask the waiter to inform the kitchen that our mains needed to arrive quickly as we had to leave promptly by 7.30, the waiter was again apologetic and 10mins later the disappointing main courses arrived, the fish and chips were overcooked, the chicken pie was served without green beans, the linguine with prawns, crab and chorizo was greasy and sweet but the maple roasted pork was good. Not sure we would visit the pub again but the gin cocktails were amazing!!!!

Ross was the real MVP. He even managed to impress my in-laws, who are incredibly fussy. 10/10 would eat here again

It was our first family visit to the Seahorse for quite a few years and we were not disappointed. Our waiter Ross was so attentive and helpful, the food was really good quality and the atmosphere was really nice. We will definitely be returning very soon.

Our visit was very pleasant. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We visited with our 10 month old which some restaurant are not keen on but The Seahorse made us feel very welcome. Fast friendly service with great food, we would definitely visit again and would recommend to others.

Whilst enjoying a day hiking around Guildford and the surrounding villages we stopped at this pub for a lunchtime bite to eat. We sat outside as the weather was dry and sunny. The garden is quite nice although a little noisy as it is next to the main road. We ordered the food and drinks using the online ordering service, which was efficient and fast. The food was well cooked and arrived piping hot. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Popped in for some drinks after work and were served by Hannah and Molly, the service was fast and easy and was an all round pleasant experience!

Celebrated parents 65th wedding anniversary here yesterday. From the initial (tentative booking for 30 people) earlier in the year to the actual event for 22 people, could not fault Hannah and her team. Communication throughout was friendly and helpful. They provided us with a lovely private space so that children and dogs could relax and have easy access outside that meant we did not disturb other diners. It turned out to be a fabulous sunny day so they were busy. However our server, Phil checked in on us regularly and responded with good humour and efficiency to all our random requests. Thoroughly recommend the Seahorse and thank them for making this event so enjoyable for us all. By the way food and wine choices were excellent and catered for the diverse dietary requirements of the group, including a last minute request for GF food.

We had a Sunday evening booking so we’re disappointed but not overly surprised that all the Sunday roasts were sold out. The girl who looked after us was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us but the food was not great for the £170 bill. Our starter (Camembert) was like glue. It is a sticky cheese but this was something else and not even warm. The bread that came with it was almost like sliced white loaf bread with a bit of rosemary sprinkled on it and barely warmed. Our fillet steaks weren’t good - mine was medium rare and cold, another persons was very over cooked and chewy. The veg was cold, the asparagus had the ends still on it, the part that you would normally break off before cooking. The tough bit. My desert was nice (creme brûlée), rum baba wasn’t good at all apparently. Then coffees. Well, they only had soya milk. They’d run out of cows milk. You’d have thought someone could’ve nipped out and got some if they knew they had bookings, there’s a little supermarket down the road. So overall, very disappointing and we won’t be going back despite being local. Plenty of much better pubs down the road. I know pubs are busy on Sundays and they were probably all tired and wanted to go home. I sympathise but also want better for that pretty hefty bill.

My mum and I visited the Seahorse on a Sunday. On arrival we waited at the door to be seated as was instructed by the front door, was stood there for about 10 minutes when no one came so we walked into the bar where we were met by very busy staff. They did say they were understaffed so understandable. It was lovely weather so we sat outside. Service was great, a young blonde lady was very friendly and the young boy also was very good. Lovely location and a atmosphere outside. Inside by the bar it was very frantic but again, they were understaffed. We ordered the nourish bowl and duck salad. The portion sizes are poor, very little food and quite poor quality. The nourish bowl stated roasted cauliflower but it came out very soggy. I would rate my food 3/10. My mum ordered the duck salad, it was basically a bowl full of duck with about 10 salad leaves, so quite disappointing. The duck was very tasty but I wouldn’t call it a duck salad. Very little ingredients used. My mum would rate hers 4/10. We ordered dessert to make up for our disappointing main, a sticky toffee pudding and the Black Forest bomb. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing, 8/10, really tasty and lovely bourbon ice cream with it. The Black Forest bomb was very disappointing, if you want ice cream with chocolate sauce and a few cherry’s order this. No brownie was served with it, and it’s stated there should be. We also ordered tea to have with out dessert but that never arrived, they didn’t change us for that. Overall, lovely atmosphere outside and menu is lovely but actual food is very disappointing. The roasts did look amazing walking past them so may try those. May also be to do with the fact that the Shalford fare was on nearby and it was a hot Sunday but don’t think we will be back in a hurry.

Had dinner at this lovely place. Beautiful decor, outstanding, friendly service. Food was excellent. A thoroughly lovely evening enjoyed by us, which we hope to repeat!

We came acrossThe Seahorse out of pure chance while doing some shopping nearby. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who sat us to our table and offered us drinks. The drinks arrived quickly and they came back to take our food order. The food was amazing and the menu had so much to offer we will definitely be returning to try more dishes. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The Scot was really nice inside and had been done to a good standard, great place for couples, groups or families.

I visited here tonight having driven pastIt twice a day for two years . I read the menu and it sounded amazing and drew meIn. I visited tonight on a date with someone and we had both agreed we wanted to try it. We arrived and were given a nice cosy table. Drink orders were taken..And we engaged in conversation.. for 30 minutes .. weLooked around .: it wasn’t busy but our waitress had evaporated . 40 minutes later our drinks arrived and orders were taken. We ordered a linguine and fish cakeswhich arrived and were nothing like described .. the linguine was soggy pasta chucked in the middle of a plate no sides nothing special and bland .: my fish cakesLooked and tastedliked lidls specials on some mushy green tastelessPea purée with a sideOrder of rocket with a cucumber stick stuck in. The service was slow and they seemed like they would rather be else where.We had a great first date but not because of the food or service. Our second one will be elsewhere

It's the first time I've been back to the Seahorse since the first lockdown and I am happy to say that it is just as good if not better than it used to be. A good menu, nicely presented and well cooked plates.Thanks Tommy for your service which was lovely.

As a vegetarian and a pescatarian couple our Guildford visit was filled with risotto and vegetarian burgers and after 2 days we had to find an alternative. The seahorse promised to have a more varied menu with good reviews and the restaurant loved up to the expectations with a varied menu, good time wine and super friendly and entertaining service. Without a doubt the most enjoyable meal we had over a 4 day visit to Guildford and I would highly recommend. It’s not a 5star experience but 4stars is the perfect score.

We popped in here for a lunch on our way to Portsmouth marina.Served quickly and young friendly staff.Drinks came quickly.We had shank of lamb delicous. Chicken leek brie pie..also yummy. Pasta dish and steak.Good quality food.Quite a wait for main course but cooked freshly!! We all enjoyed our meals.pricey but worth it.

We chose to visit the Seahorse because of an interesting vegan menu. Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered the cauliflower steak, which turned out to be some over-cooked cauliflower florets. We also had the plant-based burger, which was small to say the least and came with a very cheap bun. The chips were very good, but when I asked for some more vegan mayo I was told that there wasn’t any, which made me wonder what was on my burger.Our puddings were also disappointing. The millionaire salted caramel brownie was very rich and would have benefited from some fresh fruit. The warm orange and polenta cake was inedible. Literally. We couldn’t bite through it. To be fair, we mentioned this to the waitress and she made surre that we weren’t charged for it.The service was average and was most memorable for listening to the waiting staff loudly making their social arrangements with each other across the bar.

Really liked our meal, service was excellent and Hannah was super accommodating, the menu was just as I remember it and it is a shame that we can’t go more often

We had a really lovely Sunday brunch here. Gryff and Zoe went out of their way to look after us, including our teenagers who wanted the lunch menu even though it was only 11:30am and our puppy, who wanted to get under foot whenever possible! The brunch was delicious and the kids were very happy with their huge burgers. Service was friendly and quick. We will definitely be back.

The food was lovely but the service was sadly not up to standard and we will not be returning for this reason. We were seated and given food menus but no drinks menu. It took over 20 minutes for the waiter to come and take our drinks order, at which point we had to ask for the drinks menu. Starter plates were not cleared until after our main courses arrived, despite the waiter coming and clearing the unused wine glasses from our table. Two side orders of onion rings were forgotten by the waiter and we then had to wait for these to be cooked after we had received our food. All in all the experience was let down by the poor front of house service and a real shame given the food when we got it was very tasty.

We came here for Sunday lunch as a treat for my partner's birthday. We both had 3 courses and we definitely were not disappointed.

We went to the Seahorse yesterday, 31/07, as a family of 6 and had a fabulous meal. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, even though we were not always quick with our decisions and orders. Hanna did a sterling job in making our stay as pleasant as possible. We'll certainly be back for more.

Being regulars we are used to the wonderful, friendly service we usually receive from the seahorse staff. Unfortunately, we had to point out they had guests waiting several times as the staff were hanging bar blades on their colleagues ears??They missed part of our food order due to disruptive customers which is fair, however when pointed out disputed heavily which made our experience quite uncomfortable. This in not our usual experience and we hope that the seahorse returns to its cheerful atmosphere soon.

5 adults visited on a Saturday evening for the annual birthday meal. We have been doing this for 28 yrs and ths service we received here rates as some of the best ever. Super menu and great food. Waitress was outstanding and took time to deliver thoughtful, personal service.

The Sea Horse got recommended to me by a friend and I decided today was the day I would check it out and I was blown away by the amazing atmosphere, service and garden area I was welcomed by. All the staff were perfectly pleasant and welcoming even on a very busy hot day such as this one. My server Tommy was positively charming and really helpful in assisting me with my order as I wasn’t sure what to have. I elected for the squid followed by the steak which were both equally delectable! I will very much look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu.

My girlfriend recommended the Seahorse so we went at Sunday lunchtime. Sadly the first problem they were limited in beers available The restaurant was empty except for one other couple although the garden was more occupied We only wanted a light bite so we both ordered the Duck salad as a starter as my friend recommended it. Service wasn’t fast , some time before taking the order then needing to check if it was on the menu. Eventually they arrived salad was pleasant sauce was good but Duck was very overcooked and tough. Sadly staff seemed to have disappeared so unable to mention it also my girlfriend had recommended it it was difficult However she left most of hers although I ate most of mine not wanting to upset her. When the waitress did eventually return after we had finished I mentioned the Duck was tough but she appeared to ignore my comment. Again not wanting to upset my girlfriend I said no more but was unimpressed with the Duck and service and decided not to stay for further food.

We enjoyed a fantastic family meal at the Seahorse last night, enjoying cocktails in the garden before moving into the restaurant. Tommy our waiter was very attentive and tolerant of our many questions and requests!All our starters, mains and deserts were amazing - and for a party of 7 with various likes/dislikes, that was a great achievement. We would definitely recommend the Seahorse and look forward to returning. .

It sure was! On my one day off this week I visited The Seahorse, just outside of Guildford, and I was thrilled! I had an amazing dirty burger, very cheeky of me lol. Zoe served me and when I spilled my drink, she was very quick to clean it up! #speedyservice will defo return if I get another day off

Was welcomed by the staff reserved table for 7 a Birthday Celebration The service was very good the drinks were presented beautifully the bar staff know how to serve a Gin and Tonic The scallops I ordered were cooked really well the main was delicious every thing was nicely presented every dish that was ordered was well cooked so excellent value for money plus we were given an offer on line to have a free starter or dessert

We met friends for our annual catch-up lunch. Covid protocols were in place, and everyone behaved themselves during our time there. The servers were all friendly, efficient, and checked on the progress of our meal regularly. We were sad that the prawn and smoked salmon starter was off, and my wife was disappointed with the quantity of meat in her steak sandwich. Otherwise the starters and mains were tasty and well cooked. I would recommend the kind prawn, crab and chorizo linguine. We rounded off the meal with coffees, and I can honestly say that all four of us enjoyed our lunch at the Seahorse.

Went on the evening that England played Ukraine. All the waiting and bar staff were on their phones watching the game. I went to avoid the football not be inconvenienced because of it. I ordered the Prawn, crab and chorizo linguine in a white wine and chili sauce at £14.95, a lot of money for a bowl of pasta but hoped that it would live up to price. It didn't. It arrived as a lump in the bowl. I had to separate it and release the "sauce" at the bottom. The sauce, what there was of it, was watery and tasteless. There were a few prawns, not much chorizo and NO CRAB!. I told the server and she said she would mention it to the chef. She never came back to let me know the outcome. At the end of the meal, I left quite a bit, the server asked how the meal was. I told her it was bland, tasteless and had a complete lack of crab. Again, she said that she would tell the chef, and again, she didn't return. I asked for the bill and the pasta was still on it, no offer of a complementary dessert or taking it off the bill. I'm not after something for nothing, just what I paid for and this was well wide of the mark. This isn't the first time i've been disappointed with the Seahorse but it will be the last, I won't be returning.

The Seahorse has a lovely old pub vibe but with amazing quality food. Our waitress Molly was lovely and very attentive. Couldn’t fault her service and attitude. The drinks were good sized and served quickly. Would always recommend this restaurant

Enjoyed a wonderful evening meal to celebrate mum's birthday. From the moment we arrived staff were friendly and accommodating. Our waitress was Molly and she was lovely, very attentive and friendly. The menu has a great choice and the food was delicious. We will definately be back and highly recommend dining here.

I have been to the seahorse before and it's usually pretty good but this time was terrible. When we first arrived we were left waiting at the door for 5 minutes before we were seated. We then ordered our drinks which they got wrong and had to be sent back. We ordered our food and the crab and prawn fish cakes I ordered were basically breaded deep fried mash potato, I couldn't taste any crab or prawn in them what so ever, they we very bland. They forgot to bring the onion rings out till after we had finished our mains which we also had to ask for twice . The chips were cold and over cooked. The service was slow but I presume they're under staffed due to covid. Just really bad over all. In the end I left early because I was quite upset as it was supposed to be a special meal for my Mum and Dad. I won't be back.

Fantastic visit to The Seahorse for the first time since lockdown. Great Covid protocols in place, felt a safe environment. Buyer was great as well as the service.

Last Sunday I visited with my family and we had food which was nice. A member of staff called Griff was amazing also really friendly and efficient. Would 100% visit again!

Visited yesterday to sit in the beautiful beer garden in Shalford. Tim & James looked after us very well. The linguini was fantastic and fresh, will be returning again soon.

Nothing beats a bank holiday, especially when you get the sort of service the Seahorse provides. Lovely food, drinks were superb and I will certainly be coming back to this fine establishment!

By golly gosh, can't recommend this place enough. Despite the slightly misleading title, I didn't actually have guacamole, but Molly did provide excellent customer service!

5/06/2021 super for two at 7:30.Service was slow, which I can forgive given COVID restrictions.Staff are friendly, if some what disorganised.Starter was nice.Mains were less than ideal.My partners starter was under seasoned and missing half of the ingredients in the sauce.My steak was no seasoned and the chips over cooked.Management need to do better and quality check food leaving the kitchen.I will pass on going back and would not recommend.

Came for lunch and was greeted by a very smiley young lady called Molly. She was very friendly, quick and attentive. Food came out quick, good portion size and was as good as the service, will definitely be back!

Molly gave service that was quite frankly, out of this world, will most certainly be returning in the near future and the food was great!

Had the most amazing evening at the Seahorse, food was delicious and even better service by Molly. Nothing was too much too ask and regularly checked in on our table to make sure we and everything was okay. Always had a smile on her face. Will definitely be returning!

Visited on bank holiday Monday after being turned away from other venues in Guildford, had a great roast with my friends, good value for money. Molly and another young man in the garden were fantastic.

Visited on bank holiday weekend, service was incredible and the food was fantastic. Griff served us and was extremely warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him. Will be retuning, thank you for a great afternoon.

Whilst visiting a family member in Guildford we thought we would try out another M&B sight as we had such a good time at the Blue Anchor. The service was top again and the food was equally as delightful! The Linguini is certainly up there with the most appetising dish I have seen leave one of their kitchens!

We entered the establishment looking for a table with drinks and were offered a lovely table with low ambient lighting. Our friendly hostess, Livi showed us to the table and said our waitress, Molly would be over to serve us drinks. As soon as we were settled our drinks order was taken and swiftly delivered by Rio. Given the recent change in restrictions, I booked dinner for my wife’s birthday yesterday at The Seahorse, with our two young children. Given the current climate, and hospitality reopening, I chose to go back to The Seahorse having been a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. This time however, things were not as positive. On arrival we were ignored for several minutes at the door, and then greeted with “wait there” statement. Hardly a friendly and pleasant welcome. We then had two sets of people push past us to go out the entrance, despite the exit clearly being labelled as around the corner, for CV-19 measures. The restaurant staff chose to ignore this; whilst this just came across as rude to us, this could really put some people off who are apprehensive about enjoying hospitality indoors again. It is pointless to have guidelines in place if they are not user. Once a member of staff did then come to see us there was no welcome or hello. He then accused me of “only making the reservation in the last few minutes” despite having made it ten days ago. I could also see it clearly on his screen, so there was no issue. After this, far from ideal, start, things did pick up a little. The waiter for our table was at least a little more pleasant and the food itself was fine. The guy clearing our table was actually the most engaged member of staff, even cracking a little joke for our boys, which made them laugh. I was disappointed to find the urinals leaking all over the floor in the Gents; with a helpful “floor slippy when wet” sign in place, as some sort of “fix”. Given the current circumstances; rude staff and leaking, messy toilets are not OK (and nor should they be OK at any time!) At a time when these sorts of businesses should be drawing people back in, I found my experience very disappointing.

Great first visit to the Seahorse in Shalford. Visited as a last minute trip as I am not from the area. The dirty burger is up there with the best I have had anywhere. If I am ever back in the area I will be back again!

Where do I start, amazing, delicious food at good prices. Excellent vegan options.The staff are INCREDIBLE. They will go out of there way to help with whatever you want.Service is quick and easy.Had a lovely evening out. This was my third time coming here and it gets better every time. Thanks Seahorse!

This pub is special to me as I met my fiancé here! We’ve had good meals here but I had a poor experience today. I had the duck salad which was chewy and dry. My plum crumble was hard with cold custard. Service was quite slow. Left feeling quite disappointed.

What is this place... a pub, a restaurant? Whatever it may be I am completely in love with it. Walking round it’s like a winter wonderland (merry Christmas). I visited recently for a second date with a guy I met on henge(he was a absolutely hottie) and the waiter was very friendly, however I wasn’t too sure if he was flirting with me or my date... other then that he gave brilliant service and I will be visiting again (hopefully on a third date).To concluded it’s a must go!

We came here for our last meal pre-lockdown 2.0. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and even when they're really busy (like tonight) they never leave your table feeling neglected. Food was great (veg curry particularly) as was the cabarnet sauvignon. Sad that we won't be able to visit again for a month. **Another bonus- they have a great car charging point in their car park!

Nice restaurant just outside Guildford. We had a dog friendly table for 4 which was private. It had a partition to the next table so it is nice and Covid friendly. The food was nice. Well cooked and flavoursome. The rack of lamb was delicious, unfortunately you only get 2 pieces. I suppose it is quality rather than quantity. It is just the right amount with the potato and veg. It was so nice that it made me wanting more or to go back again soon. The price is slightly higher than average. Not that bad. Service was friendly

Hi there, came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday last week and had a great meal. Excellent food, very pleasant staff, good variety of food and drink offerings and above all took the Covid thing very seriously.Would definitely come back again and recommend to anyone thinking about going there.Given it was a Friday, and I booked the day before, the whole online booking procedure was very simple and immediate and I got exactly what I wanted in terms of meal time. We were not pushed to leave, so were able to relax, eat and drink and chat. Our server was very pleasant, and took the time to chat with us, which made for all the better experience.

Very oldie worldie inside with log fires. The food was lovely, all three courses. The service was excellent, our waitress was bubbly and very good too

Visited on Sunday with my family. Wow! What a delicious meal. All the staff were delightful too. We were greeted by Livi, who explained everything COVID and were served by the lovely Molly. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. The only downside was that they ran out of roast chicken but looking at how busy it was I’m not surprised! Can’t wait to come back.

Lovely looking pub inside and out, including the toilets (always judge a place on their toilets). Friendly staff, food arrived quickly and was delicious. Left feeling very satisfied.

My husband and I popped in for a meal over the weekend and we were looked after by the wonderful Georgia. From the outset she was very welcoming and gave us some brilliant recommendations - make sure you have the chilli chicken bites starter and fishcakes for a main. My friend and I came here for a sandwich lunch; the only one we saw was a beef one - a bit pricy at almost £11. But it was very good. The Covid-safe environment was also well provided for. And the latte afterwards was first class. Highly recommended pub.

Came in with two of my friends for food and drinks. We were served by Georgia- she was very friendly and bubbly! She had great knowledge of the menu as well for my gluten free friend and the other who is vegan. Our cocktails were delicious as well so thank you to who ever was working on the bar! Had a lovely evening and will be back soon. Thank you

Nice and spacious seating outside. We had a baked camembert and a garlic pizzette to start. Both were great to share.I had a pork belly - very tasty. The chicken milanese looked delicious. Next time will try the rack of lamb, as i got food envy when I saw my friend eating it. Billionaire’s chocolate bar is my new favourite. Staff friendly. Dog friendly. Also signed up for the Seahorse newsletter few months ago, and I received a bottle of Freixinet for my birthday with our meal. Loving it

So as I’d heard it had changed hands I assumed the rats were gone and that the food would be if so much better standards again as once upon a time this was a fantastic place to eat.. sadly this was not the case at all! Now yes I’m coeliac but that was no excuse for the appalling tasteless Camembert I was served!! The other person I was eating with I can’t now remember what she was having but was also not very impressed, my granddaughters pizza well I think we shall just leave that one there.. for some ridiculous reason we still thought we’d have pudding. I don’t know why. Perhaps it was that thinking of if they are no good with main courses maybe they are great with desserts.. wrong again.. wont be going back in a hurry.. or at all actually. Such a shame! It’s never gonna be what it was..

II sometimes wonder if I've been to the same place as other people as, in my view, this pub does not deserve the accolades it receives. So, to begin. Little evidence of Covid19 prevention measures apart from an in/out system and hand sanitisers. None of the staff we saw were wearing PPE and few of the customers either. Papers menus reused but tables wiped down with paper cloths. Service sometimes indifferent but mostly deplorable - we had to continually keep asking for things. OK you don't want staff hovering over you but a bit of attention wouldn't go amiss. Could have walked out without paying for all they seemed to care. Not a bad menu overall but the starter of duck pate was nothing to write home about and was a miserly portion: two thin bits of toast and some indifferent pate which was nothing like the menu description. Mains of lamb and chicken were OK and, to be fair, it was good to see dauphinois potatoes on offer rather than the ubiquitous chips. Desserts, like the starter, poor: wife's creme brulee was underdone and the sugar on top was badly burnt. My Eton mess was, well, unusual and little like the menu description. Little meringue, ditto fruit and if it was cream then it was unlike and I've had previously: more like a custard. The staff were either badly trained or couldn't be bothered. When on leaving we were asked how things were we received no apology and a look of "well, if you don't like it, tough". Oh, and although it was supposed to have a period ambience we spotted plastic fake-wood beams. Haven't seen those since the 80s! Overall then poor. Given the times we're in it's disappointing that places don't make much effort to be the best they could be. As there's lots of competition we'll go elsewhere in future. And so should you.

We have been there twice now since lockdown restrictions were lifted and it such a nice place to go and support. We had a brilliant meal and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Would highly recommend.

Due to a medical difficulty in the family I had to return to Guildford for a few weeks recently. I was in desperate need of a great pub. Somewhere with good service and food. Sadly the Seahorse isn't that pub!! Because the service and food there on three occasions in that 2 week period have been EXCEPTIONAL! Great choicesCovid safe and sensible Lovely ambience Food was perfect. I had the burger and the chunky chips are the best we've had... and the crumble...❤️!!Last but not least was the service. I've been served by three young members.of the team and again their service was simy the best ever! Helpful, timely, knowledgeable about recommendations; accomodating to two vegans amongst us. I only got one name and that was Rowland who like the others made our visit (in a difficult time) really special.. makes me want to move back down to Guildford again - just for the pub Thank you guys

Came in from a quick bite to eat, even though the place was quite the staff were still attentive to me and my friend. The food was delicious. Will be returning for certain.

After quite a while we decided to return to the Sea Horse. We had already booked when we received a 50% off mains which was very much appreciated. Our experience was superb and I wonder if you can really take seriously negative reviews when they have only posted 1 other one. They are not committed to the Trip Advisor. I have almost 400 and I nearly always ignore places that don’t get 4 or 5 stars from me. Anyway we were met with the right balance of Covid security. We felt they were taking this situation seriously but also maintaining a good customer experience. I started with a couple of pints of their excellent Hogg Back Tea. First class. My rib eye was cooked to perfection and the tempura style onion rings have only been equalled a couple of times before. I would return for a portion of these alone! Equally my wife has a chicken super food dish which she enjoyed. Overall we enjoyed the atmosphere, service and quality of food and drink provided. I suggest you don’t take my advice or bother to read negative reviews from those that have reviewed very few establishments and instead try it your self. In these difficult times well done to the team at the Sea horse.
