Great food great staff beautiful place. Had the best time

We hired Citation for a big birthday party. It was the most amazing experience. The venue itself is amazing. The staff on the night were amazing. The food was amazing. It was a surprise party for my wife's birthday and of course she had a totally amazing time. I booked the venue months in advance and the member of staff I dealt with throughout the organising of the party couldn't have been more helpful, especially at the times I was panicking. I haven't mentioned her name to save her blushes. If I was having another big event I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you so much to everyone at Citation.

Was at my neices wedding recently Taylor & James , and I have to say it was the most amazing day ever. Everything was just so professional and ran so smoothly , We were treated beautifully from the second we stepped in. The wedding meal was perfect and so tasty. Myself and my husband had our wedding in Citation last month and we had the most magical, memorable day! From our very first meeting with the fabulous Pauline, who was a dream to plan our wedding with. Nothing was too much for her and she was there with us on our whole journey. A shining star🌟 A big thank you also to Gaisey, Kim and the whole team on our wedding day. They all went above and beyond for ourselves and our guests. Such a personal touch😊 I can’t recommend Citation enough. Both ourselves and our guests had the most amazing day. We just got married at Citation in August 2023 and had the best day! The staff on the day were amazing and very attentive. A big shout out to Casey for running things so well on the day. Also, a big thank you to Pauline for organising the day and thinking of all the little things before we even realised we needed them! We can't recommend Citation enough. If you are thinking of getting married in Glasgow then you should definitely consider this venue.

Fantastic venue with wonderful staff.

Lovely place for a wedding venue, we went to our niece’s wedding and enjoyed the ceremony & celebrations well into the evening. The food was lovely, and the bar area is beautiful and so impressive with flowers and lights with so many drinks to choose from. The outside area under the gigantic colonnade is lovely and a great area to sit and socialise. Lovely staff too with timely food service. Thank you, Lyndon & Peter.

We absolutely loved holding our wedding reception at Citation...we just have one specific suggestion for others planning their event. Citation is a stunning venue, inside and out. But what truly set our experience above and beyond, were the employees and their careful attention to detail. Pauline was fabulous to work with, and each person there the night of our reception took time to make guests feel welcome. We did upgrade our package, at the suggestion of Citation's staff, to one bottle of wine per person at dinner (or the equivalent of beer). We were certain we wouldn't need that much, and we were guaranteed that whatever we didn't use would count towards our bar tab. As it turns out, Citation does not keep track of the amount of wine/beer consumed at dinner. We were told it probably amounted to what we paid for, so we did not receive any kind of bar credit. However, we are nearly positive we did not go through 112 bottles of wine at dinner (or the equivalent of beers.). We know several guests weren't drinking at all. We would still recommend anyone book Citation for their event! However, do not upgrade your alcohol package...or if you do, ask that they keep track of the amount your guests consume. We really did love our experience at Citation, and know that other couples planning their special day will be happy if they book this venue!

LIES. Don’t trust the venue. They lie about packages and deliver poor customer service. Venue is small and not for anyone booking over 40 guests. Overpriced and staff need trained.

Attended a work event. An amazing place with delicious food and friendly and efficient staff.

Weddings only here. Good venue, upstairs for the meal, downstairs is a large L shaped bar. Adequate seating, with a quieter end away from dance floor and band. Well organised, good staff. Central location, difficult street parking, but we found spaces easily in North Portland Street and streets parallel to it the other side of Gearge Street. 5 mins walk to Citation. Can recommend.

Was there for a wedding what a lovely place soon as we went in the staff where great very helpful and the bar staff had big smiles on there faces and chatted away we had a great time food and drink first class DJ was good to nothn bad to say top class 😊

A beautiful wedding venue. Excellent customer service from the minute you enter the door. The flowers which adorn the area were exquisite and the evening buffet was well set out, healthy and delicious.

I was here for my nephew's wedding and was absolutely fantastic. Very nice atmosphere and decor is first class. Made to feel very welcome, and staff were helpful and friendly. The full day was done to a very high standard, from service to the food (which was exceptional). I would recommend this venue to anybody. Hope to be back soon at some point in the future.

Recently attended this venue for a celebration of life and easily the best customer service I’ve received and witnessed. Thanks to their staff and special thanks to KAI who was brilliant interacting with the kids and always smiling whilst getting orders done.

Louize and the whole team are outstanding. From the first email, tour of the venue, open days to our wedding, everything was seamless. Citation is a spectacular building and has the most beautifully enchanting interior with cherry blossom trees, fairy light staircase and draped windows. All the extras were executed perfectly, the food was glorious and drinks flowed the whole day and night. Everything was perfect thanks to Louize and her wonderful team, the day ran like a dream and they co-ordinated all the suppliers effortlessly. The whole day was pure love and magic, thank you again so much from the bottom of our full wee hearts!!!

My wife and I stumbled upon Citation whilst out viewing other wedding venues, we parked outside and heard what sounded like an amazing event inside so decided to enquire. Right from our first enquiry Louize was amazing. Very helpful and accommodating but also gave great advice and helpful tips on how to arrange our day. During our wedding day Louize was on hand to coordinate the suppliers but at the same time was very discrete but I knew if we needed anything she was around to help. All the staff in the venue were fantastic and very attentive to all the guests. We had someone arrive late and within seconds of them arriving and without warning they were met by a member of staff who welcomed them and gave them a drink. As well as this Louize has a list of suppliers who are also very accommodating and helpful which just makes the planning so much more seamless and easy. This was our second attempt at organising and planning our wedding, the first date in Ireland was cancelled due to covid, we both agree this time was a lot easier and stress free thanks to Louize. I couldn't recommend Louize, her team and the venue enough.

I would give 10 stars if I could. Louize was fantastic all the way from our planning stages, until our wedding day! She made us feel comfortable, relaxed and that was nothing was ever a problem. Louize is true professional at her job no stone was left unturned, she is on-it!!!! All our guest were raving about the food, so a massive thank you to the chef for providing everyone with a mouth watering amazing meal!! The staff were all pleasant & friendly with speedy service at the bar. I would definitely book another event here. Our customer journey was exceptional.

Overpriced, cold and pretentious. I thought Barcelona had the highest priced drinks anywhere till I visited here. Then they put the card machine under your nose asking for a 10, 20 or 30% tip!

My sister got married here on 5th November 2021. The staff were awesome, nothing was a hassle. The whole day and night was flawless. The staff even joined in to sing happy birthday to my 11yr old son.

Now full disclosure, we were never supposed to get married in Citation. We had originally booked our reception for 29 but …well Covid. However, from how well we were treated by Louize and all the staff at Citation, I would (and do) suggest to every person organising a large event – use Citation. The food was amazing, the Staff were attentive and friendly, the décor is beautiful, and frankly it’s a Glasgow wedding and you never waited more than 3 minutes to get served for a drink. Even before and after our day, the staff were fantastic for letting us in to do the logistics that comes with a day like that – pick ups, drop offs, money handling, changes. Fantastic venue!

Not very good as a wedding venue. Flooring requires to be fixed too many holes for heels to get stuck in. Creating a health and safety concern.

Just had out wedding in Citation. I cannot put into words what a fantastic day we had. Such a beautiful venue and everyone was raving about it. The food is fantastic. The staff are utterly brilliant and friendly and Louize made sure everything went to plan. I can’t praise or thank everyone enough for helping make our day go so well. This was the 4th date for the wedding and 3rd venue and all the disruption was worth it to get such a brilliant day. Look no further for the best and most beautiful wedding venue in Glasgow. Went to a wedding here at the weekend. Place is a great venue. Food was lovely and the staff were helpful. Not a single negative. Would recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue.

Really beautiful building. Worth going for a drink just to see the decor. It's nice and spacious and they have an outdoor heated terrace.

Just generally poor, shocking that they would decide to reduce a lovely bar into a quite honestly tacky wedding venue, the “wedding manager” seems very disingenuous, and her team were very unhelpful, I hope the fantastic staff that they let go have moved onto better horizons, where they can actually be respected by proper employers.

Having booked with Louize for 29 Glasgow for our 2020 wedding and thereafter changing to Citation we have had nothing but amazing things to say about Louize. We have been at a few open days and met with/spoke with Louize on many occasions, she is always on hand for any questions and is so happy to help.When we went to view Citation I was apprehensive about it as it wasn’t our original choice of 29... but wow I was so pleasantly surprised. The place is stunning. The ideas Louize has for it, are nothing short of beautiful. A venue which should definetly be considered with a coordinator with a real love for the job. Unfortunately we have to wait sooo long to get married due to changing our date again. But can’t wait to see all the pics of the couples getting married and the venue at its best. Initially I was supposed to be getting married in May 2020 at 29 Glasgow however, with all the changes that have happened this year the wedding has now been pushed to May 2021 in Citation.I have to say that from the very first time I have met her Louize (the wedding coordinator who looks after weddings, both at 29 and Citation) has been nothing short of everything I could want in a wedding coordinator. On top of being knowledgeable and efficient, which she has been at every turn, she is also extremely friendly and warm. She instantly put both myself and my partner at ease, making us feel welcome and excited about the big day. She had answers to every question I had and was able to focus on all the little details with me. She also is great at keeping in touch and throughout the whole COVID situation which has been stressful as a bride (so i CANNOT imagine how much pressure and stress she has been under) she has remained honest about the current status of the wedding, open about our options and listens to our concerns.Citation itself, well.. as a woman who was very very excited to get married at 29.. I didnt initially think I would be sold on Citation but oh my, it is gorgeous.. Its actually perfect - the furnishings and building itself are absolutely beautiful and the venue is spotless. I cannot wait to get married there and there is absolutely no other venue I would choose and no other person to help me on my day than Louize and her team.

Avance rápido hasta mayo de 2020 a mitad de camino a través de una pandemia global y estando sin trabajo durante 4 meses, comencé a preocuparme por la proximidad de la fecha de nuestra boda y por tener dificultades financieras. un poco de tiempo extra. (¡Estuve destrozado por días!) En un día, Louize hizo que nuestro depósito se transfiriera a una nueva fecha y todos los horarios nuevos se enviaran por correo electrónico. Ella fue tan tranquilizadora y realmente ayudó a alejar mis preocupaciones. Louize ha estado disponible las veinticuatro horas del día para responder a todas mis consultas provocadas por el pánico y me ha dejado absolutamente tranquilo de que mi boda se llevará a cabo el próximo año ¡lo más cerca de mi fecha original como pude haberlo hecho! Louize hizo que la mudanza de mi cita y proveedores preferidos fuera perfecta y realmente me quitó un peso de encima. Siempre me ha gustado Citation como lugar, es absolutamente impresionante y todavía estoy tan emocionado por mi gran día el próximo año. ¡Aún más tiempo para emocionarse ahora!

Popped in for a couple of cocktails an pleasantly surprised by how nice they were. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Nice decor and plenty of space between tables made in easy to get about in my wheelchair.

I’m going to start with the good points as there are few. The building itself is stunning. It has tons of potential. We arrived and found tables dirty and sticky, littered with empty glasses, my wife wiped ours with hand sanitizer and tissues to clean it. It’s not great in the times we’re living in. The chairs were ripped, stained and in a poor state of repair. We were sat at a table with someone else’s water glass still there, although the waiter did apologise. The food was desperate to be honest. I’d opted for the Sunday roast gammon. The roast potatoes were frozen so was the veg. To be honest Yorkshire puddings and gravy don’t really go with ham either. Incidentally the Yorkshire could’ve been used to fill holes in our roads at the moment. On this experience I’d not recommend or return. To the owners, you need to get your act together, or you’ll be gone especially in the sad daily changing climate. I do need to point out we were there before government guidelines on staying away from public places.

The service was performed without a smile....I felt that they just wanted people out as soon as they arrived. We had booked the two course dinner and my wife asked the waiter if she could have main course and dessert - The answer was no. The couple that came in after us and were served by the waitress asked the same question - main course and dessert - The answer was Yes???....seems they have no idea about the menu and fixed meal...The food was mediocre at best, the meatballs were terrible and the pasta that came with them was soooooo bland...The Chef should be embarrassed to serve this. I should have gone to Ikea for a better meatball meal... Too many choices of Good restaurants in Glasgow....we will not be back....

We had lunch here recently and were a bit disappointed.Service was very mixed; from poor to excellent depending on who served you.The food wasn’t as good as we hoped it would be and the menu, whilst beautiful, didn’t quite have a wide enough range/choices that suited us.

Just as title reads, poor quality Sunday roast. Choice of chicken or gammon - no beef, pork or lamb. We both chose the chicken which was moist and tasty but had too much pepper on. Frozen roast potatoes, soggy in the gravy. Frozen Yorkshire pudding, soggy in the gravy. Carrots, tiny amount of broccoli and mangetout which were overcooked with some of the carrots discoloured. Poor quality overall. We returned our meals. Our starters were nicely presented and tasty. Efficient service and lovely restaurant and bar. Would return for drinks but would not recommend Sunday roast.

My starter of haggis needs and tatties was about an inch thick, dont get and wrong it tasted great and the sauce was lovely but the portion size was small. Chicken wings were very hot, husband enjoyed these, a hand wipe would be good as they are messy. Chicken on ham and pea risotto with creamed leeks was a tasty dish, risotto had lost its texture but tasted good. Husbands steak was tough, wasnt worth the supplement. Desserts were delicious, sticky toffee pud and chocolate orange truffle cake. Loved being able to people watch from the window and service was good.

Given a voucher from Itison for citation for a special occasion. Although the venue is spacious and really nice the food is not up to same standard . Very poor choice on this set menu and everything is served on its own so you are forced to pay for the extras e.g. Chips veg etc also very nouvelle cuisine.definately Won't be back ,,,,

A friend took me to Citation yesterday with an itison voucher. Not been before but had fantastic experience and will definitely be back. Food was delicious and the service, especially Clare, Sean and Peter was second to none. Lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Dreadful experience. Was ignored by staff on entering the restaurant so we took a seat at one of the many empty tables. After a 10 min wait a staff member came to the table to check if we had a booking (the place was less than half full). He then went to check if a table was available. Came back with menus and took our drinks order. We were not impressed with the menu choices and noticed that other diners had been given different menus. When the waiter returned we asked if we could see the other menu. Only to be told "If you walk in of the street without a booking, you only get the menu I've given you". His attitude was terrible. We asked him to bring the bill for the drinks as we were leaving. After another wait for 10 mins I decided to go to the bar and pay for our drinks. At this point the manager approached us and asked why we weren't dining. By this time we just wanted to leave and find somewhere else to dine as it was getting late. Wont be back.

Visited this restaurant today with an Itison voucher for 2 course meal with bottle of wine included. Chose prawn cocktail starter × 2 ( £3 supplement each. We knew that.) Starter was average, bland ,nothing special, shrimps. Chose steaks (8oz.) × 2 for mains. Menu states £6.50 supplement for surf and turf I.e. with prawns. Bill came for £31 supplements. Apparently £6 each for steaks ( not 8oz ) PLUS £6.50 each for 3 medium size prawns on top. " Citation" because housed in the old court building. Should be cited for misleading menu. Not worth money I.e. voucher + supplements £60 for average meal. Won't be back.

Booked an itison deal for cocktails They were delicious but place was pretty dead and chairs were all burst which was not ideal. Gave me the fear All aside it's a nice enough bar just stay away from the couches at the back as all chairs are burst

Had a reserved area in main bar for my 50th birthday celebrations. The general manager Julian couldn't have been more accomodating and helpful ensuring the evening went smoothly. Coupled with lovely bar staff and accomodating DJ, I was delighted overall with my experience

ItIsOn deal for £25 for two courses and a glass of prosecco is not worth it. We were a part of four and all got different options from the set menu. Portions were miniscule, with the smallest chicken wings I've ever seen. Staff were very pleasant and attentive and the venue itself is very nice. If the food was improved it would be 5 stars.

The food was top Noch I can not complain one bit! The sides were incredible... hand cut skin on chips and steamed piping hot veg!!! I had the coley which was incredible and my friend had the gnocchi which was fierce as hell! The service was amazing but the only thing that flawed it is that we were placed by the door which brought in the worst draft! Which kept blowing my napkin off my lap! I’ve been upstairs before which gave me such a five star experience but for some reason it wasn’t open on this occasion and the bar was extremely busy giving us a very overwhelming experience

My husband and I had dinner here tonight on a very busy evening. Warm welcome and seated quickly, a nice bottle of rose wine brought to the table promptly as well as water then our order was taken by a lovely young Irish waitress. Our starters arrived after a short wait and were delicious, chicken wings for hubby and arrancini for me. A nice wee pause then our mains were delivered, chicken for me and slow braised beef for hubby, both very tasty and beautifully presented. Finished off our meal with a couple of Arbikie gin and tonics! Fantastic service and value, would definitely recommend and looking forward to a return visit.

Food excellent. Service worst I have experienced in recent years. Young staff pleasant and polite but poorly trained. Matre de just no clue what was going on. Totally oblivious to customers needs. Have graver concerns but not willing to mention publicly.

We had an Itison voucher which was obviously not popular with the member of staff 'greeting' us. There was no welcome, he just snatched it from us and walked off (it wasn't even taken off the bill, luckily we noticed and had to ask for an amended bill so beware they don't catch you out like this!). Why do these places offer these discount vouchers if they don't want the customers to use them? Don't they realise that people often use these vouchers to try out new places, then if they have a good experience they will become regular full paying customers. Being treated like second class citizens and made to feel unwelcome is not the best first impression! Going from other reviews it seems that the 'table in the corner' is reserved for those with a voucher too, although personally we liked the peace in the corner.

Five of us visited this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food ,choices and service by their lovely employees Peter & a lovely girl from perhaps New Zealand or Australia who explained all our options and both were very professional and friendly even though the restaurant became really busy.

Iconic building and great, friendly service. Good deals for quick lunches. The menu is pretty uninspiring but you get what you pay for.the staff had a down to earth Glasgow approach. Would return just for the banter.

We had a family lunch here for several birthdays and the food was amazing so fresh and tasty. We had a great waiter too, Peter, who was very attentive and chatted away with us and helped organise the birthday cake we brought along. I've never had food in citation before only drinks but will definitely be back. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it.

Great value deal thro 5pm for 2 courses with wine at £29 for two . Food was lovely tho some supplements were added . Unfortunately we experienced a dark table in a corner where we were forgotten about. The serving staff were difficult to track down and resulted in my friend having to leave the table to ask them to take our orders . Asked for a candle as we needed light from phone to see our menus but unfortunately didnt receive one . Cant fault the quality of food as did enjoy it when it arrived after a long wait . Staff training needed.

Como digo buena relación calidad-precio pero necesitaban más personal.

Our family treated my wife and me to a pre-theatre dinner. We both had chicken which looked a little helping on a huge white plate, but was very filling. It's a substantial property with bar on ground floor and restaurant on second floor. We moved on to KingsTheatre for The King and I. A great show with great music in a popular theatre. Seating is comfortable and the staff most welcoming.

Compré un Itison y lo usé un viernes por la noche. La comida era excelente, la presentación impecable y los camareros eran muy profesionales. Vino encantador vino con nuestro trato y sentimos que realmente habíamos tenido una comida especial y noche, definitivamente volveremos y saltaremos la próxima vez que haya un Itson disponible.

Very nice food and good service

Went there for lunch with family and friends. It was the itison voucher for 2 course and a bottle of wine. The food was lovely with lots of choice. The service was brilliant and we were mainly served by Peter who was very attentive and nothing was any bother to him. The restaurant was very busy but the service was first class. Will return !
