Chubby's Chippy in Aylesbury Vale

This is my local chippy. It's a clean and well run place. The staff are polite and kind. The food is great. I would definitely reccomend - I keep coming back for more!

For the best fish and chips in Winslow the only place to go is Chubby’s. Excellent service from this family run chippy. The only fish and chip shop I aware of that will get skate for you. Give them a try you will not be disappointed.

Came here this evening to buy last minute simple early supper. Quietish. Clear menu. Bought two cod and chips and one large donner kebab. Very friendly and efficient staff but only told after ordering that it’s cash only, no cards. Quite a surprise, where these days do you carry cash a not pay by card or phone. Cleared me out. Our meals were wrapped in paper and then placed in a plastic bag. Even before I had lifted it to carry from car to garden it was evident that reg paper was very oily or greasy and that the plastic bag had caused the batter to go soft and the pitta bread damp and spilling the strips of lamb. Pity. The food had cost about £23 but was a let down. Non cash payments are very cheap these days for the retailer and there is no reason why food should be oily or presented in plastic bags that destroy the crispness and integrity of the food. Decent paper beads are commonplace in a lot of chip shops.

Been here several times. Ordered on the phone with no issues. This time called up and the person on the phone said to call back as the line was bad. Seemed very odd. Then the number was disconnected after that and couldn't get through. Got the impression they must have been busy and didn't want to take the orders and shut at 8pm. I called at 6.45pm. Won't be using again. Really disappointing as had great food previously.

Just finished my fish and chips, words can’t comprehend the deliciousness.Staff provided great service specifically from one of the members, a louise nickels I think? Definitely coming again, if you don’t know get to know

We use Chubby's very frequently and their fish and chips are the very best around. Cheerful, efficient, reliable. Thoroughly recommended.

These guys are great and the food is always first class. Freshly cooked and service by lovely people. We frequently ride our bikes on a 32 mile round-trip just to get our tea from Chubby's. Best chippy for miles, without a doubt!

Recently moved to Winslow and tried the local chippie. What a find!! Lovely fish and chips and very good portions. Not at all greasy also cooked to order.

Me and my partner ordered for collection tonight, the staff were lovely and friendly and the food was bloody lovely and decently priced. Definitely the best kebab in winslow. Will definitely be ordering again. Thank you.

Took the grandchild for our take away; the chips were golden and cooked to perfection, and the fish tasted really fresh

Ten out of ten for going the extra mile and producing an excellent piece of cod without the batter for a gluten free husband. Will always go to chubby’s as his food is always excellent and never greasy. Large portions too. Have found all members of staff very friendly and professional.

Popped into here to give it a try as the fish and chip shop on the high street was packed and I didn’t have time to wait. Greeted by the most unfriendly staff who just looked at me without saying a word then stood arms folded waiting for the food to cook as if I had totally put them out. Can see why it’s dead and that’s before trying the food! Won’t bother again, the other fish and chip shop in Winslow is busy for a reason, it’s a shame a small business is like this.

This has amazingky good fish but thats where it ends. They over charge you when your teenager goes to get the dinner. Trying to talk to them is like pulling teeth. Wont be going back anytime soon.

Whenever I go there I usually order the Rock Salmon an excellent meal. The chips are excellent as well and the service is friendly and if you do have to wait it's because it's being cooked fresh. I have yet to find a better place locally for take away fish and chips Dave

Always good service for chips and a veggie burger. Have always stayed open for me if you get there late too.

I live behind this place and for the last 10 years they have over charged, got orders wrong and staff have been rude. My children go to order food without me as we live so close and they charge EXTRA for the food as no adult is present. The owner is not welcoming and his son is even ruder. I have had orders wrong. I used this chip shop as it is convienient for where I live. I now go else where as everything is better on the high street in Winslow. I would recommend anybody and everybody to give this place a wide birth. The food isn't great quality but even if it's not great and staff are good you will still use it. This shop has everything wrong

The girl who served me was lovely but the man cooking was very rude, he got stressed because I wanted a battered sausage and there wasn't any ready. It's not the first time either he's always shouting at the other members of staff and makes me feel like I'm an inconvenience to him when I'm just trying to but my dinner. Very rude arrogant person. I'd give 0 stars if possible but the young girl on the counter earns the 1 star. I won't be going back not a nice experience chubby stop being so rude and people may come for their dinner

Visitamos chubbys esta Semana Santa Viernes y pedimos dos de bacalao y patatas, y un pollo hamburguesa y patatas fritas. El bacalao era delicioso, muy raro y con carne. La hamburguesa de pollo crujiente lechuga iceberg, tenía rollo fresca y sabrosa hamburguesa. Comida deliciosa y un servicio muy amable. Sin duda lo recomiendo! !

The second best fish and chip shop in Winslow. Reasonable quality but the fish is very fatty and difficult to stomach a whole portion.

Pensamos en probar aquí como sólo recientemente encontramos que existía ya un poco fuera del camino si no sabes.Precioso lugar limpio, de hecho fue una sorpresa al ver un "fish and chips" tan limpio, luminoso, espacioso y bien distribuido. Saludo amable y orden tomado rápidamente. (Podría hacer con un par de sillas o un banco como alféizar un poco baja pero utilizable para sentarse en si no y viejito).Bacalao rebozado con salsa, patatas fritas, curry y sal... yo tuve la mía, pero en vinagre para ser honestos no podía contar. Cod era preciosa, bien preparado y muy carnoso. Es una pena que la mayoría de los palitos de pescado rebozado en papel, pero aún así sabroso.Las patatas fritas eran un poco impredecible, algunos eran frescas, fresca y sabrosa, otros eran un poco duras como si hubieran sentado 'por un rato.Salsa curry... horrible, peor que he tenido. Fue claggy, bultos, tenía algunas dudas y motas blancas sabor no de nada. Fue en microondas, así que quizás climatizada cocidas?? (También que vi tartas estar climatizada, de la misma manera, así que si quieres un pastel crujiente probablemente gestionar claro).Yo le daría una segunda visita Gordita como el bacalao era muy bueno... y me di cuenta que no spam, y buñuelos de guisantes blandos... Qué delicia de la infancia fueron tan habría de probarlas... y pedir papas fritas si es posible!

Staff are always happy to see us, taking time to talk to the children and do 'cheesey chips' for my youngest :)

On one hand I have enjoyed the best kebab ever from here (about 2 years ago) but on the other I have had, by far, the worst. The chips are often not cooked thru (this should NEVER happen in a chippy-how hard can it be to cook a chip??) and the fish is sometimes still swimming-but in oil. Confusion reigns virtually every time we order for the family (6) and I am struggling to recall a time when our order was correct. I was also surprised once to be sold pitta bread that was totally black-initially I assumed it was a joke and that I would find a replacement but no. With the drop in standards since the high street chippy changed hands and the poor quality of service (in regards to attention to detail) that now seems common in Chubby's it seems that the Winslow Chippy's days may be numbered.

Good food and good size portions - never gone wrong. Only drawback is they tend to close early during the week but apart from that - delicious!

Just visited here for my evening meal.Ordered kebab meat and chips.Kebab meat was the best meat I have ever had from a take away and I have tasted a lot if kebabs.The chips were a mixture some were very nice and some were undercooked.But don't let my chip episode put you off I will deffo be back if in the area.

Tucked away from the main street in Winslow, but it is worth seeking out as they do sell good fresh fish and chips.Worth finding if in area

This is simply the best chippy in the area for miles. The food and service are always perfect and the chicken kebab is awesome a must have!!

Chubbys is by far the better of the 2 chippies in Winslow. Much better quality food and the service is better by far. And for the reviewer that complained the fish was Skin on- all you have to do is ask and they will cook you a fresh skin off fish.

Busyish chippie on housing estate. Limited parking but easier than High St. Fairly quick service. chips OK. Fish etc vary but not bad. Prices like most chip shops. Nowhere is cheap these days.

We normally go to the Happy Friars.The takeaway is on a residential estate and parking is limited.The premises has 5* a good sign, the staff are friendly enough and the food was prepared quickly.The fish was ‘skin on’ not my 1st choice , but my better half is happy enough. The chips were not that special and the peas were more of a natural colour compared to the synthetic “Happy Friars” peas.Overall, I prefer the Happy Friar, the portions are better and marginally better.Overall Average +

Excellent freshly cooked food. premises is spotlessly clean and service excellent. Opening hours good. Only drawback is that it misses out on passing trade as it is a out of the town centre.

Only been the once because we are not locals but remember it well. Chips OK, some perfect, some turning slightly (but not unpleasantly) soft, but such a large quantity. Couldn't eat them all. One or one and a half lots would have been more than ample for the three of us! Good value. Simple friendly little place.

Have resorted to Chubbys there times when staying locally. Simple tasty good value snacking. Happy to come back and back.
