Personal agradable y agradable y precios competitivos. ¡Sin duda volveremos!

Came off the motorway and found this little gem! Friendly, polite staff. Reasonable prices- tasty toasters and lovely cuppa - hubby was not so pleased with his banana milk shake as was very warm! Needed some ice in it!

Friendly cafe serving food at good prices. We enjoyed bacon and egg in a bap. Others around having all-day breakfast - looked good! Door opens directly onto the dining area, so can be chilly. Toilets are the public ones next door. Good for milky coffee (but cappucino seemed just the same!) Useful to know it is there as it has long opening hours and stays open in the winter.

Having visited the Castle we stopped here for lunch - I had jacket potato, husband had a sausage and mushroom bap. The food is homely, freshly cooked and the cook/waitress (Sue) was friendly. A great place to get refreshment.

Stopped off here yesterday (Sat 17th June) on the way home from the Lakes. Brough isn't a place we normally stop off at but some of the more popular villages on the way back were heaving so went for something different. Got parked right outside the tea room and we got a seat straight away - there were only one other couple in who looked like us (i.e. people passing through) yet in the other room it was full of locals. The young girl who was the waitress was friendly. I'm always amazed that people who own local cafes like this allow so much clutter to acumualte..it really does need a tidy up. It's pretty basic to be honest and the menu is full of butty's, toasties and sarnies, that type of thing. They didn't have what we ordered first so between the 4 of us we ordered bacon and sausage butty's and pots of tea. The bacon butty's were OK while my sausage butty was dreadful. A dry bun and the sausage must have been the cheapest going - totally tasteless and a complete waste of money. I think they defo need to spend more on getting better quality produce if my sausage butty was anything to go by. Ironically the pot of tea was superb. I'm afraid despite the quaintness and desire to try and support local businesses, I won't be rushing back and will revert to the establishments we normally visit where more care is taken with what comes out of the kitchen.

As nowhere else was open at 7.30am on a Friday morning for breakfast on our journey this was it. We had two full breakfasts £5 each but didn't include a drink. The food was ok, clearly cheap ingredients especially the sausages, tinned tomatoes and clearly just reheated food which is unnecessary, should be freshly cooked but for a back street cafe it was as you would expect. The large milkshake at £1.90 was a little steep and certainly not large. But we were all hungry and it was edible.

My son and I stopped here for lunch after riding up The Stang and Tan Hill, to fuel our way over the top from Brough back into Barnard Castle. I had double egg on beans on toast and a mug of tea, my son had the smaller option all-day breakfast and a strawberry milkshake - a bargain at £11 for two calorie-starved cyclists! The staff were really friendly and we'll be back if riding that way again.

Really friendly atmosphere and staff. Excellent menu and delicious food cooked and served in minutes. We had planned to stop in here en route to Blackpool and we're glad we did. There are a few books, magazines and toys to make use of, everyone is catered for. Very reasonably priced and the quality doesn't suffer for it. Highly recommended.

Soup absolutely delicious. My husband asked voracious baconbutty but got a sausage butty, which was really tasty. Lovely place to stop for a snack and a chat.

Heerlijk voor een lunch, een high tea, gebak, vooral de worteltaart is aan te bevelen, maar ook een glaasje wijn.

Travelling from Central Scotland to Sheffield my daughter and I stopped here for lunch and what a friendly wee place it is! Warm and bright with a menu to suit everyone. Great food and great value. Perfect for a quiet break from a six hour drive, and probably any other excuse too! Definitely recommend the all day breakfast.

This is a good place to drop in for lunch and felt quite relaxed as we chatted to the owner. The venue is only basically furnished so don't expect anything to posh! The menu covers most basic items such as all day breakfasts, sandwiches and jackets plus some very nice looking scones and cakes none of which are expensive. We had tea, coffee and 2 jackets and the bill came to £10.80 so no complaints about that. The food was well presented and we had no issues with the quality. Newspapers were available to read with the only negative being that there was no wifi. I'm happy to recommend this cafe.

The above can be found in Brough or to give its full name, Brough under Stainmore. Chofhs is a small, dare I say old fashioned tea room that serves good food and tea at a reasonable price. Worth a visit if you're in Brough.

Very nice people very nice food and tea/coffee offering.Last visit was memorable as a punter from hell was present. This lady talked to you regardless of if you wanted to or not she was an escapee from the Wild Rose Caravan park.Regardless of the odd overbearing punter my recommendation is give it a go.

It was cold, it was wet, it was windy and the engine was overheating as I pulled into Brough to join the A66 and head east. I managed to park under the bridge of the A66 to check the car, out of the downpour. No signal on my mobile so I walked up the road a little way and there was The Cafe! I collected my wife and found a warm and cosy pleasant atmosphere with a steaming mug of hot chocolate each to cheer us up. After the car engine cooled down it proved terminal so whilst waiting for the very nice man from the AA we enjoyed a good Full English Brekky, crispy bacon, black pudding, mmmm. We've called in again since, when passing, just for the fun of it!

Stayed here to break our journey from Central Scotland to the Peak District. Had a very pleasant chalet type room at the rear of the property with easy access. Enjoyed a drink and an evening meal in the bar with our wee dog. We both had the sirloin steak with was generous in proportion and quite tasty.Staff friendly as were the locals. Would definitely return.

We dined in Bustro 1871 as part of a short break holiday at the Appleby Manor Hotel. What a lovely break this was. Our first after the Spring and Summer lockdown. The food was really good and the waiters attentive. Appleby Manor itself is a delightful hotel full of old world charm. We are returning there again for my wife's birthday in October. I shall again dine in Bistro 1871 as well as sampling the gourmet restaurant at the hotel on our second night.
