China Garden Takeaway in Tandridge

Poor Chinese that is overpriced and portions fairly small. Unfortunately only one other option in the area which is just as poor. Oxted residents pay it as may be they do not realise how poor it is compared to other Chinese take always in London and elsewhere . Not going here again. I would recommend you avoid it unless desperate for a Chinese and can’t be bothered to cook a decent meal. Disappointing really

I have used this chinese for years and the last year has been a let down the chicken is so tough like it's been refried I think it should always be cooked fresh otherwise its horrible. There is no good Chinese in oxted so won't be bothering anymore.

Needed a good old fashioned Chinese takeaway to feed teenagers. Friendly efficient staff and freshly cooked food in generous portion sizes. Piping hot and tasty, went down well. Our usual Chinese is currently closed but we would definitely use this one again. Everyone enjoyed their food.

I have not been here in two years. From the looks of the place, looks like it hasn't been cleaned since 1972 ! The décor mirrors the food. I had chicken and cashew nuts which was really slimy and gooey . I asked for egg friend rice , but no idea what they gave me instead, it was like a complete mush! I would not recommend, in fact I would rather have a kebab over this rubbish!

Made an order and when we got it home we had a main missing and when working the price they didn't even put it through and we had spring rolls with was 99% bean sprouts and 1% chicken and the pork balls where so tuf

Love this takeway. The food is always fresh, delicious and nothing is too much trouble for the polite and helpful staff when you order. Being both dairy and wheat intolerant this is the first takeaway I've found which caters for me without even batting an eyelid. Have become a regular. They are very Covid-safe and only one customer is allowed in at time with the required line on the floor marking out the distance and the staff always wear face protection. i feel very safe in there which is a contributing factor during these sad times.

Have been coming to this Chinese takeaway for years now and have never had a bad meal. Classic Chinese takeaway menu. They have a minimum spend of £10 to use card and prefer cash which isn’t a problem as there is a cash machine a few doors down at Sainsbury’s.

Got a takeaway on a Monday evening during the Covid crisis. Efficient and prompt service and delicious food. Well prepared, good quality of food, absolutely delicious and will use again. Many places aren't open on a Monday but these were and we were very happy with our meal. Good value too.

Perfect takeaway every time. Very friendly, very fast service. Never had a bad meal from there ever.

All Chinese takeaways are different. The dishes can be very greasy, can be dry, tasteless. There are two Chinese takeaways in Oxted. This one is takeaway only and in My opinion is spot on. Not greasy, dishes have taste and enjoyable. The other Chinese is also a restaurant which I found that one tasteless.

Well cooked Chinese food cooked promptly at a reasonable price and always polite and pleasant service.

I have had takeaways a few times here food very good if only the young ladie behind the counter was the same. Snatched money from your hand and No thank you on giving you your change I said thank you THREE times before leaving and all I got was a bye very ignorant in my opinion real shame as the food is very good but will not recommend to friends sorry it’s not hard to be polite as £30 on a takeaway and no thank you or smile is a no no for me

We have been using China Garden for over ten years. The quality is consistent, the staff not overly friendly but efficient. If you engage them they are great. You call, give your name (despite me being a bloke I'm known to them as Debbie) your order taken by number or description, you are told how much and when it will be ready. If it you need more time then ask and oh, they do some non-MSG free food so always ask. My favorite Special Chop Suey, Hot and Sour Soup, Spring Rolls. Duck is good and the bean curd dishes too. They also do exotics such as crab and lobster. Always hot and depending on size of order some free crackers.

Hubby & I get a take away form here quite often. It is not a diner only take away. Rarely disappointed & always tasty Staff friendly and menu is varied

Meh, had high expectation based on reviews on here. Was pretty standard to be honest. Crispy noodle wasn't crispy Starter selection was swimming in grease Service was quick, staff polite. Singapore rice was very nice!

Después de descubrir mi comida para llevar local chino estaban cerradas eché un vistazo en internet y encontré China Garden a 20 minutos. Después de volver a casa con la comida nos dimos cuenta de que toda la comida era muy fresco y muy sabroso. No grasienta y el vermicelli y pelotas de pollo eran geniales. Toda la comida era deliciosa y recomiendo encarecidamente este como un lugar para la orden.Sin duda nuevo, incluso cuando mi ordinario local chino está abierto.

I only ever order from this Chinese takeaway. I find their food tasty and delicious. Their food is never swimming in oil like many other places we have ordered from. Great fast service too.

No sé cómo se las arreglaron para mantener a todos sus clientes contentos en Nochebuena -como era el deseo de comer Chino en Nochebuena no pude conseguir a través del teléfono, así que fuimos a la orden. Funcionan bajo presión. Comida aparecía como prometieron después de unos 20 minutos. Caliente y fresco. Muy agradable. Gracias.

The definition of an average Chinese takeaway. Nothing differnet on the menu and average execution on what they do.

Se han pedido a partir de este para llevar un tiempo - la comida es muy sabrosa, pero es demasiado salada, a veces a pesar de que pregunté no agregar sal, así que me hace pensar la comida es preparada con antelación. Servicio rápido y fiable, y los precios. No entregar, que es un poco decepcionante. Pero la impresión general es buena.

We always go to the Jade Garden for our takeaway. The food is always cooked perfectly, the staff are courteous and the food is always ready when stated. Recommend this chinese takeaway.

Arrived just before 6pm. Very fast service but clear that two of the popular dished we ordered was cooked in advance as they were Dry and tough.

Extensive menu, covering a broad range of Chinese cuisine. Good vegetarian menu and food is cooked quickly whilst you wait. No delivery service that I know of. My partner and I have used this takeaway many times over the last two years and have never had a bad experience. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. It's not surprising that this the China Garden is extremely busy! we've always got our food quickly, despite the phone constantly ringing and people dropping in to collect orders. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The food that we have had from here is not up to much and very greasy. I must say I personally would avoid unless you are very hungry. Sorry guys but tried several times as it is local

We needed a fast, well cooked and reasonably priced take away and with the China Garden we weren't disappointed. Set meal for 3, and 2 extras came to about £40. I can honestly say this was one of the best Chinese meals I have ever had so if you are not sure, try it out.

Called in 5pm Saturday and gave them a list of food that we required for 5pm Sunday for a Birthday Party for 10 people half of which were vegetarians. Called to collect at 5pm Sunday we were welcomed by name and food was ready. All of our guests had a great time and praised the quality of the food.

Very consistent and good quality takeaway Chinese food, the capital ribs are good as are the Singaporean style noodles (whether soft or fried). Also the tofu with black bean sauce is yummy, in fact it's all good and is our regular one, we go nowhere else as haven't found anywhere better within a reasonable distance.

There are a couple of chinese takeaways in town but I always go to this one as I've never been disappointed.The ordering is always fast and efficient and dishes are prepared fresh with a very little wait. Its pretty good value too.

We used to use the China Gardens on a regular basis. We found it OK but nothing to write home about. The food is OK but it never gave us that good food feeling, it was adequate and served it's purpose. We then tried The Golden Palace (opposite the Post office & cinema in Oxted) and that is now our desired takeaway. Please see my trip advisor review for the Golden Palace.

I've been going to China Garden for takeaway Chinese food for years. In my opinion they do the best Chinese food in Oxted. Their food is always delicious, the service is always friendly and efficient, so I have no problem recommending them. Note, however, this is takeaway only (they don't have a sit-down restaurant section).

We usually have takeaway on return from a long weekend away or after a hard day at work so we order over the phone from China Garden who offers great takeaway at reasonable prices. The menu is quite extensive and the staff are friendly, The quality/taste standard however does seem to vary depending on if the order is a Sunday or a weekday. Different chefs maybe. Also, the special chow mien doesn't have as much meat in it as it used to - mostly noodle. If you like a rich and spicy Satay, then that's a must from China Garden. Mostly the food is excellent and great value. China Garden is purely a takeaway shop - there is no restaurant attached.

We're only occasional visitors to Oxted, but when we do stay there we'll often find ourselves in need of a takeaway meal. There's quite a lot of choice in the town, but we've found standards, and service, vary quite a lot. Last time we were there we were recommended to try a new Thai restaurant that has recently opened. We phoned them to order a takeaway and, although it was a fairly quiet evening, we were told it would be an hour before they could even take our order! So, back to the China Garden in Station Road East. Quick, reliable service; very pleasant and helpful on the 'phone; extensive menu (Szechuan, Peking & Cantonese); very reasonable prices; good sized portions; hot, fresh, tasty, and ready in no time. What more could one ask for?
