I have been a regular customer of chick mex for many years. Infact since it first opened in the nineties with the original owner. I fully understand the current financial climate and businesses have to raise their prices to keep themselves from going under. Over the past year or so chick mex has raised their prices and understandably. However the recent increase is obsurd, £9.90 for a large doner and £4.50 for chips! Come on guys you're taking liberties now Andy

Place is absolutely spot on and never missed a beat! Business rating should be much higher than what it is! Owner is an absolute gent! 100%customer service all the time and n will always go that one extra mile to insure you’ve hag good customer service! Highly recommended

I have absolutely no idea how the overall rating is not even 3 stars! I have used Chickmex for about 3 years now and although I order every month or so, it has always been an amazing kebab... every time I add me request to the online form they respect my wishes... which could be seen as annoying at times! Just ordered a wrap and fries and wowzer... was delivered within 25 minutes, the fries are amazing and the wrap is so scrumptious! Best kebab in Basingstoke by far. Thank you so very much for your efforts and delivering me delicious food everytime! Apologies for not reviewing sooner.

£8.50 for a large so ordered a small and paid £7.50 for the equivalent of 10 chips and 4 pieces of meat. Absolute waste of money.

It was absolutely lovely. I really didn’t expect it to be so nice. Especially after ordering form charcoal grill last week. In comparison, this kebab was juicy, made up ( even those I asked CG to make up the kebab, it wasn’t.) the onion rings were hot, crispy and delicious. Only reason it lost a star was because of the description of the egg roll. I thought it was a Chinese egg roll type or roll but it was a fried egg in a burger bap. It was nice tho.

Worst kebab I've ever had, horrible burnt thick cuts of meat took a picture but couldn't upload.

Had it loads of times then one late evening ordered two burgers ended up having food poisoning and rushed in to hospital with a bad belly for a week DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!

Never had a bad kebab from here. Always a pleasure to order. Probably one of the best in Basingstoke in my humble opinion

In my life, I've never been so disappointed in what I have ordered. I cannot work out what is small med or large because its still the same price and the same size ?. I think they take advantage of people that may have had to many to drink and hope they don't notice, not that I have when I've turned up to order food. So from me it's a no, but if your hungry and drunk go for it

Not great, love a lamb doner- the meat here has zero lamb, bland! Would not return

So placed an order after seeing its rating had improved. The higher rating is ill deserved. The food took an hour to arrive when I called them the first thing they said was they were very busy. Then the driver blamed traffic as the hold up. Food was Luke warm. I asked for my donner meat well done. To anyone who knows well done is golden brown on one side and tender on the other not black and totally burnt one side and overcooked on the other. The pitta could have been carbon dated. The amount of oil in the carton was staggering. My partners burger was stone cold and the bun was stale. My daughters food just the right temperature. The drinks were the only enjoyable part of this experience well let’s face it to ruin a canned drink would have been some feat. So here we are £20 wasted and still hungry. Let’s hope the kebab house that’s opening up wipes the floor with them cause basingstoke needs a proper kebab shop not a half arsed effort that this was. If you really feel the need to waste money just throw it away don’t give this place your hard earned.

Why give pitta bread that is in bits, chicken and salad just thrown on top the pitta making it impossible to eat together. Delivery driver very rude didn't even say hello or goodbye! food bland and warm. I gave you a second chance but never ever again.....keep on like this and you will go out of business for sure especially with the other online delivery options now which i will stick to from now on.......ps they used to give a little bottle of Pepsi now you are hard pressed to get more than 2 bits of cucumber

vert fast delivery, great tasting food, good value for money and great service

Caught my order mistake, wanted delivery but clicked collect and they called to confirm so was over the moon. Chips were perfect as I asked for them to be crispy and kabab was ram packed and great as always

First time of going to them and I most say it was really nice I would 100% go back to them again

I went here for an evening bite to eat after a few too many beers. I handed over my cash in return for what I was expecting to be a donor kebab. In return I got a plastic container of what can only be described as shavings of raw excrement. Even a dozen drinks in I knew this was the most disgusting kebab ever known to man. At least my body did not need to process the kebab it looked the same on the way in and the way out! Avoid this place if you want food!

Stone cold on arrival been having problems on and off for a while this was the last straw prices keep going up and quality down AVOID

Chicken is really tasty. Chicken wraps are really nice. For the Kebabs the pita bread was not that great and they put the chicken/veg onto of the pita instead of inside it, but still would definitely go again. (Go for wrap instead of normal kebab)

have been using chik mex for years and usually food is good . however things have gone downhill the last 2 months or so . last nights offering was the final straw , a black (burnt) and pink (raw) chicken health hazard . needless to say that was my last ever order

Have used chik mex loads and for years but couldnt be more sisappointed in the takeaway tonight.cold .chicken was so over cooked and cruchy and dry and the chips were hard .unable to eat it .will sedinately not use again but they used to be so good .shame .

Great place for a quick bite. They do deliver and kebabs are huge if you get jumbo. Great value for money.

Food was cold asked for meat and chips with cheese on chips it got here and isn't have cheese on chips, and when I rang they tried to say I didn't ask for that but argued it out and the delivered a small cheesy chips and the delivery driver was as rued as anytging not happy

Was an hour late, the chicken looked like a warmed up abortion. The 'cheesy' chips tasted like plastic and the mixed kebab was so greasy that it fell through the box and soaked through the paper outside it. I know it's not going to be gourmet food but this was beyond a joke. Never again.

ordered special mixed. Lamb was fatty and un-marinated chicken dry and since when does a kebab not come placed inside the pitta bread. Reminds me that i stopped eating these because they are that bad.

The donner wrap and kebabs are nice just don’t order a chicken wrap,I ordered a chicken and donner wrap it came and it was just chicken (so it was wrong) and it was awful..the chicken was like it was taken from a drumstick or someone not like the chicken you get with a Kebab.

Ordered online to be told that they couldn't be bothered to deliver to us as it was "Too far" - I said OK thanks to which they actually replied "Yeah yeah whatever boss" - good job I didn't bother spending the best part of £30 with them. They're on the list!

Terrible! Order was wrong and cold. On complaint phone call someone pretended to be the manager and laughed with colleagues and kept hanging up. Completely and utterly rude!!!

Delivery was quick and it tastes pretty good. Also I found a hair in the top part of the kebab container but it might've been from my cat I'm not sure Oh well it still tasted good

It took over 2hours to get the full meal I ordered, when the first lot of food got it here it was stone cold and a small chips was missing i also got very short changed and before I could say anything the man had gone, I then called back and it took over an hour for the man to turn up with my missing changed and chips which were yet again stone cold.
