Good food, pleasant staff and nice atmosphere. Would gladly recommend a visit but park opposite as the car park next to the pub is I believe private!!

This is by far the best pub in Sandbach, wonderful staff, and I'd love to give a shout out to Kirsty. Always helpful always a good laugh. The pub has a great atmosphere, and is a great place to watch a game or make a fuss over a dog. Can't recommend it highly enough. Food is great and quick, and they have a nice selection of ales on offer. Plenty of seats and a good pub quiz.

I absolutely love this place, there is always a great atmosphere, and there's always a cute dog to make a fuss over! It's a lovely cosy place for a drink, and Sophie is fantastic for knowing when I need a top up! The pub quiz and guest performers are a nice touch as well.

We love this warm and friendly pub. The service is excellent and there’s a great selection of drinks, snacks and bar meals. It’s ideally located for walkers and boaters enjoying the nearby Rail Trail, Salt Line and canal. Dogs are also very welcome, they even have their own menu!

Under new management. Relatively small bar area. Can get busy. Invariably noisy with quite unnecessary background music and televisions, in addition to the customers' contribution. Some cheaper drinks Monday to Wednesday. No food under new management. Traffic noise from busy road in parts of the bar. External area and garden ..when the sun shines.. but traffic noise bad. No pub parking though some opposite. Not a pub I can without reservation recommend.

Horrible place they don't warn you about the parking situation what you think is the carpark belongs to the restaurant the other side who have a sneaky camera and you will get 100 pound fine in the post. I would Avoid this place altogether.

We’ve just completed the Cheshire Ring on a narrow boat and the Cheshire Cheese was the number one place to dine for atmosphere, great food and tremendous value at less than £20 for 2 mains (we had the lovely chicken korma) and 2 drinks including a good large Cabernet Sauvignon. It was quiz night but the pub was full long in advance. Unbelievable really good my number one dining experience of the trip.

We visited here after visiting Wheelock farm which was only a two minute drive away. Excellent pub, staff were very friendly, food was excellent and would definitely come back when visiting the farm again. Parking is available down the side but make sure you pay as it’s not owned by the pub.

Really friendly staff, very good drinks prices, lovely canal walk next door, and cheap (but lovely!) food. Dog friendly which makes it all the better!

Just want to say a big thank you to the ladies at the cheshire cheese. We had my daughters baby shower here last weekend and from start to finish the staff could not be more helpful. Such a lovely stress free afternoon. Thanks guys.

I have been a local here for the last 32 years and they have always had friendly staff, cosy seating areas and an excellent selection of ales! My wife loves the meals and nibbles they have to offer, her fave is the chicken pakoras! 10/10 pub, will always be my local.

Our favourite dog friendly pub, we use it a lot, staff so friendly and it always has a good atmosphere. The 2 for £10 meals in the week is also fantastic for a cheap mid week meal!

Had a lovely meal only to get a 60 parking charge 2 weeks later. Fuming. Never saw one sign as you aren't expecting one, which the snakes who charge know.

Lovely welcome from young lady behind the bar , we. Pre booked a table , nice selection of pub grub very tasty at a reasonable price … cosy comfortable interior. Two minutes walk from mooring , would definitely recommend . Just a pity we live in Mid Wales not nearer

We visited the Cheshire Cheese tonight. A local pub with a good atmosphere as well as homely. Vases of flowers on every table. We had the Monday to Thursday special 2 Mains for £10 before 8pm. We had Fish and Chips with mushy peas . Arrived piping hot and tasted good, better than sone chip shops. Staff very friendly , football on but not intrusive. In good weather they have a garden area outside. Would return and as an ex hotelier appreciated the young team and their enthusiasm and service levels.

Hidden Gem. On a main road, so totally not hidden. T’was very nice though, real ales and a bacon butty for £2

A great country pub with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were fantastic, the prices were very reasonable and there was a great selection of beer available. Marnie in particular went above and beyond for our party. We travelled to the Cheshire Cheese by barge and will definitely be returning next year.

Not a bad little boozer. Only ales are Hydes, no guest ales. Plenty of TVs, which I suppose is good for the football crowd, but there's no getting away from it if you're not into that sort of thing. We met some of the regulars who were lovely. The staff could have done better. Service wasn't all that friendly and the ladies' hadn't been properly restocked with loo roll.

From beginning to the end this visit was great. I first contacted Kayleigh through email as we are on a canal boating holiday and wanted a pub meal as we have been going through locks all day. Kayleigh replied to my email and we booked a table. We arrived and got a warm welcome from the staff, we ordered 3 courses each, ( we are on holiday ; p ). The food arrived quickly and the staff checked on us to check everything was OK. Kayleigh came over and had a chat and we had a laugh together. The pub was popular and everyone was happy and friendly. All the food was gorgeous and we left very happy and full customers. All I can say is well done Kayeigh and your staff you looked after us very well from start to finish. We definitely know where to go next time we do this holiday again.
