After visiting the museum, or taking a break during your visit, you can relax over a good cup of coffee (or hot chocolate) and sample the large selection of cakes. There is limited seating on the ground floor but a much larger area on the first floor and having placed your order the staff willingly bring your order to your table.

Had lunch, I had a Chinese themed pastry which was delicious, my daughter stuck to a more traditional cheese sandwich, lovely surroundings pleasant ambience. Pot of Earl Grey for £2.00, savoury pastry £2.95, whole thing for both came to just over £8.00.

The museum featured quite a lot of furniture. Much of it local Art Deco. Interesting and familiar. Seeing a lovely chair or dresser seems easier to relate to than many more exotic museum exhibits. Takes about an hour to do. Nice cafe to finish off with.

The service is good and the coffee is nice too, but the coffee machine is the noisiest one I've ever heard and I am a bit deaf! I don't know why they can't put them in the kitchen and bring the drinks out from there. It's better upstairs, but isn't always open. I went to a funeral 'tea / wake' there and the tea time buffet was excellent. It was upstairs and would be ideal for tea parties.

This is a special place for my little grand-daughters and me! We've been going since the youngest one was a toddler. We enter to big smiles and welcomes from staff and the girls take over from there, they know the drill - lift, 2nd floor, check out their favourite exhibits - the glittering tiaras are a must! Then through to the children's corner to try out the dress ups, play the puzzles and colour in. After a good hour to 2 hours of this, its a wander down to the café - always via Wilson's exhibits to make sure the seagull is still there and the 'weird' clothes. Café staff are brilliant and very eager to please. Same lunch order every time - delicious 'real' ham sandwiches and buckets of chips!! Another high score for this Grandma!! Money spent? Very little!

Good value, delicious food. But too small - a pity they didn't put it at the back of the buildnig with more opportunity for outside space. The upstairs area with the spiral staircase is just plain daft!

I've now visited three times, the food is lovely, the sweet corn fritters are delicious and the cakes yummy. BUT although most of the staff are pleasant there feels like there is a lack of management or perhaps planning, you're never quite sure how to order/where to stand/who is taking the orders etc. I really don't mind a relaxed less rushed approach, but I can imagine at busy periods it's frustrating for customers who have time restraints. This cafe should be packed, it's a lovely space, a good location and NOT a boring chain. Do go as everything is really tasty, but perhaps not when you're in a rush...

We popped in to check out the refurbished Gallery over the Christmas break, we decided to grab some lunch first in the cafe!It was about 2.30pm and about half of the tables had people seated at them, firstly we had to clear the cutlery off a table in order to sit down, the empty tables all had dirty plates and leftovers on them so we had to actually go up to the kitchen to clear the table! We sat down, couldn't find a menu but after some looking on other tables we found a dirty, stained piece of paper with the menu printed on it. After a quick read we decided and one of my party went up to queue to order. There were about four people in the queue, the first had her order taken but then the girl behind the till went into the kitchen, we saw her then taking food to a table, then she disappeared back in the kitchen only to then come out and go upstairs with a cloth to clear tables?! During this time no one was taking orders so my friend was just in a completely stationary queue. There was a girl cleaning cutlery just behind the till but firmly kept her back to the rest of the room. Everyone in the queue was getting irate, the woman at the front said she had been stood there 10 minutes (when we arrived she was in the queue!). We decided to leave the shambles of a 'cafe', god knows how long we would have wasted, by the looks of it the food was taking just as long as the queue to order!AVOID this place at all costs, please please go to any other cafe near by, this place needs to get sorted out as it's a shambles. The gallery itself is OK but nothing special.

We were very excited to go to the outdoor inn, being a fresh bar to Cheltenham. Unfortunately, as much as the staff seemed friendly.. the managers or owners (not sure) were not… they were rude to people (all be it customers who had had too many drinks!) and seemed arrogant. Drinks prices are okay for Cheltenham, but we feel a little like we wasted a couple of hours going here, where we could have gone elsewhere and quite frankly received better customer service. I wish them well, but I will not be going again and would advise pekoe to only go if they can bank on nice weather, and at a last resort!
