Great beer selection and atmosphere.

Because: "English people can't cook." At the Brewhouse and Kitchen you will be disabused in a pleasant way. Nestled in a beautiful, busy shopping street with one restaurant/pub after the next, the Brewhouse and Kitchen presents itself with an original, rustic ambience. The prices for food and drinks are within reasonable limits; So my meal including a drink cost around £23, which is - if I didn't miscalculate - around €30. There are events and live music there almost regularly. A little sleepy during the day, it comes to life in the evening.

I came in, was shown to a table and sat there for 17 min with no service. Servers would walk by but none came to the table. It was not busy. After 17 min, I got up and left.

This experience was a gift through Red Letter Days and I will not deal with that company again, but that is another matter! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and friendly (particularly dealing with the onerous restrictions applied by Red Letter Days). I had the half chicken Sunday Roast which I enjoyed and my partner chose the pork belly which was not good, half was fat, tough meat and no crackling just pork skin. Spoilt the experience for her I am afraid. The meal cost £45.00 to include two pints of ale through Red Letter Days and we bought a caraffe of wine.

Visited Cheltenham for the craft festival and after popped in for a drink. Nice wheat beer, decent looking bar, don’t normally go out not pubs showing sport but they have to cater to what majority want so fine. Will pop in again next time in Cheltenham as range of beer is good and friendly staff

We visit Cheltenham 5-6 times a year and we have eaten at high end right down to picking up a sandwich from a coffee shop. For the last 3 years, we have only eaten here. The food is always fantastic, we have not had a bad meal. The service is great and the place itself is very aesthetically pleasing. The price is average but great for the food quality and service received.

Can't really fault this place. The Cheltenham one seems better than the Glos one. Great food and amazing beer choices. Never had a bad meal here Excellent service too.

Jordan served me breakfast this morning and wow! The service was excellent and my cuppa was perfect. Great way to line my stomach before a day at the races.

Fantastic service on Wednesday morning from Alex. The brewers breakfast was delicious and all my friends enjoyed Matt and Tiffany's dishes. We will definitely be back

We were a table of 16 for breakfast before the races, the general complaint from our table was that food wasn’t that warm when it arrived to the table and there were a few sausages that looked as if they hadn’t even seen the pan. Staff were friendly and clearly very busy.

Third or fourth visit to this venue for a pre Cheltenham Festival breakfast ….. and will be the last. Grossly understaffed producing a 3min wait at the “host” station before getting seated, orders were also delayed in being taken then delivered and then a much longer delay to make a drinks order. We couldn’t get waiter attention to settle the invoice so had to visit the bar. The food itself was served tepid, portions were meagre and low quality - the 1 piece of bacon was about 4” long and about 1/2” wide albeit it was very tasty. At this price point (£12.50) we expected much better.

Absolutely loved international women’s day yesterday. We have been for two years now and Matt is amazing. He goes over and above what is expected. A lovely guy who taught us so much about the brewing process and answered all of our questions so professionally. He made the whole day fantastic and made sure each of us had a great experience. He was flexible and adapted to each of our abilities and desires of what we wanted to get out of the day. Thanks Matt!

A group of 7. We prebooked. Some of us arrived early and the staff were very accommodating for us Our hostess, Millie, was superb. Full marks. We tried various beers and let her choose some randomly which she chose some fantastic variety. Would definitely say she was helpful, friendly and made us feel welcome. The system had a foobar on the end bill missing a deposit. But Millie quickly sorted that out for us and it was all good.

Lovely beer served by a smiley team member who couldn't be more helpful. Stayed for seconds. That plus the 6 Nations was a bonus. Always consistently good.

Ordered the fish bites and chips. Had to send the fish back as batter was raw. They made me a fresh one but I was very sick later that evening

Service was great and food was good. £20 deposit wasn't taken off bill but refunded straight away when I called after checking bill 3 days later. Would like to have been offered to not pay Service charge on paying. It is in small print on menu but you don't notice when socialising with friends. Overall a good experience

Music was far too loud and distracted from the whole experience. The food was ok but nothing special.

My food was very bland, however the food my friends ordered was lovely and the waiting staff were excellent.

Not the experience I hoping for. Average food and beer, 3 of the 4 stools at our table were broken and the atmosphere was jacking the normal brew house vibe! At least the server was quick, helpful and professional.

Great food and drink, friendly helpful service, good price

My visit was last Saturday 8th February and it was to say the very least frustrating. A deeply disappointing visit to the Brewhouse, which has always been one of my favorite destinations and the reason I chose it for my birthday night out. Despite having booked online for a table at 4:30 pm and flagged that this was 'special' occasion, I was greeted by a staff member with zero interest in my booking and was unaware of our visit. He then sat us in possibly the worst table in the room by the entry door. It was cold and unwelcoming. From there it gets worse, as we received zero attention from any member of staff at all for at least fifteen minutes. This brought me to leave the restaurant and see if we could get into The Botanist, which is directly opposite. They were accommodating, helpful, attentive and basically everything that you would expect, so my wife and I left the Brewhouse and had a fantastic experience elsewhere. We have visited the Brewhouse many times and have never had this experience before but this weekends visit was a pitiful effort by your team in there and letting you down. At a time when eating out is now so expensive, the very least you expect is some basic customer service and to be offered an experience worthy of the cost. As it happens, thankfully one of your closest competitors provided all of this. I hope my feedback is helpful for you. Regards Jon

Had a fab Sunday roast. Meat was spot on and the Yorkshire pudding and veg was cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit again. Lovely selection of ales and lagers too. Sat next to the lovely fire as a bonus

Been here previously a few years ago and love the atmosphere and the food, but have to say it’s not the same anymore. The food wasn’t very warm and the beer cheese garlic bread was cold with no beer cheese sauce inside.

We spent the afternoon here, lunch followed by beer school ( birthday present courtesy of my daughter) what a fun afternoon. Rea was fabulous, informative, fun, and knowledgeable. I particularly love the story about the witches brew. If you're thinking of doing the beer school I would thoroughly recommend it.

We came for a beer school (with Rea). Perfect blend of relaxing, educational, amusing despite rowdy noise from 6th nation going on. If you're thinking of doing the school get on it.

Lovely place to try beer and nice food . Perfect to spend time with family or friends

This is the 3rd time we have been here when having a mini break away. This place is a big favourite of ours with great staff and service along with a brilliant choice of beers that are brewed at the premises. This time we were drinking “Whisky Stout “ which was probably the best beer we have tried here, we popped in for one before checking into the hotel and finished up having 3. This is a highly recommended place and we will be returning. Thank you to the staff

Popped in for the £12.95 burger, fries and a pint offer and was not disappointed. Jordan was extremely welcoming and attentive and the food was great. Fantastic choice of beers too.

The girl server on the bar tuesday 14th was lovely and very knowledgeable! Lovely atmosphere! We sat by the fire pit and had the burger and pint deal! Worth a visit

Had a fantastic time at this pub! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. One of the waitresses, Tamara, made sure everything was just right for us without being intrusive, which made the experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend it for a great meal, drinks, and excellent service!

Booked a table for 11 Jan. 20 pounds was needed for reservation which was taken off of the final bill. Arrived and it was pretty slow so we were able to choose whatever table we wanted. Ordering using the QR code was very easy additionally ordering from the bar was smooth as well. No issues at all. Once food arrived we were amazed, food was really really good. We ordered the hot habanero chicken sandwich and the buttermilk chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. Nothing but 10s across the board.

We had the nachos, which were very good. Not the usual Doritos with a thin layer of cheese. We also shared the mac 'n cheese. This was delicious, only let down by th soggy and flavorless foccia bread. The ambience is great and the design quite cosy. The beers however were expensive.

Did the beer masterclass today with Blake and they were brilliant! Really made it fun and the beer was very tasty too :)

Today I had a great experience at brew and kitchen in Cheltenham because after we got our order took a nice bloke called Charlie came out with mine and my mates burgers quickly, it was amazing and the service was great I will definitely be coming back. I had a wonderful time thank you guys

We had a great time, Gin & Tonic was lovely and at a good rate, but the highlight was Tamara. She took care of our table all evening, she was always on it, friendly, fast and efficient. Given how busy the place was, we were really impressed - top tier service!

Visit B&K a few times since moving to Cheltenham. Went for New Year's Eve there with friends and had amazing service from the staff, Tamara and Wakana were very friendly and helpful

Went to the bar last Sunday about 4-5 & had a really shocking and bizarre interaction. Went to the bar to get a drink, I asked the woman at the bar who was clearly senior staff if they took cash which she said yes. I was having a mulled wine for £5. I was using silver coins mainly 20ps, 10ps and some 5ps. I counted them all into stacks of £1 out of courtesy. Then the woman gave the coins I counted very nicely & me a very disapproving look and said “It’s not ideal”. To which I said “What’s not ideal?” She said “The way you are paying, I’m going to have to count all of this and that’s going to hold up the bar and service” To which I said “I’ve never had anyone say that to me when trying to pay for a drink at a bar”. & “it’s all a part of the job” (which it absolutely is) To which she said “You know we don’t have to serve you and can refuse you” At this point what have a I done wrong as a paying customer? I just want to pay for my drink and try and enjoy myself with my friends. So I told her she could keep all the extra coins adding up to roughly 50p as a tip. She then counted all of the coins I had already counted which was great but then asked the poor girl working with her to count it all again.. for a 3rd time now just to “check”?? I have worked and still work in the customer service industry and there are a lot of things that aren’t ‘ideal’ but having a customer pay for his drink in silver coins isn’t one of them. I thought it was a really poor way to treat a customer, A really bad example for a senior member of staff to set to younger staff in how to deal with a paying customer, and bad for the other customer to have to see. I’m supposed to leave the bar feeling good and wanting to come back to spend more of my money not leave being made to feel like I’m a burden for paying for my drink. I tipped the bar girl who had to recount what the manager already had an extra tip and said I didn’t feel it was appropriate what happened. Hopefully that cheered up the bar staff and no one else had another experience like that. I get that life has stresses and it’s a busy time of year but all of that is none of my fault and I don’t appreciate having it taken out on me when I’m trying to spend my money and enjoy a drink. It’s not ‘ideal’ for me to spend my money in your business. I’d love to come back cause I thought the place was cool but I’m not exactly in a rush to go back after what’s happened. If amends want to be made I’ll happily come in and have a chat about it but if not I’ll just leave this here and most likely go elsewhere.

Firstly, our server was amazing. She was really friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. Food was not what I am used to in this place though. Our garlic beer cheese flat bread had no beer cheese in it. But it was quickly replcaed with fresh one. Then the ceasar salad came out, chicken undercooked and rubbery and no ceasar dressing or croutons. Sent it back. The fresh salad arrived drowned in dressing this time but croutons were so stale and rubbery you couldn't even bite into them. Loaded fries? More like sprinkled fries. Hardly any bacon on them and most of it was the sauce. At £8.50 i am expecting loaded fries to be close to full meal. Worth noting that when we arrived and placed the order there were only 4 tables eating so fairly quiet. Making it even more disappointing kitchen dropping a ball. It's a shame as i have been to Brewhouse fair few times and it always been great but yesterday was a disaster.

Our work Christmas meal was absolutely fab. I was so impressed with the team, from the super quick response to my emails, to the friendly staff both at the bar and bringing the food to us. Couldn't have asked for more. We stayed for the quiz afterwards which was great fun 😃

Love the Brewhouse, great selection of tap and bottled beers and relaxed atmosphere - food is always quality (although maybe add another couple of veggie options). The staff and service as always was attentive, friendly and happy to support us when the group we originally had booked for changed quite a bit.

Lovely food and atmosphere, the only bad point was it got very busy and only 2 staff on the floor .wanted to have a dessert but the staff were to busy and our parking was running out , I know you can't foresee how busy you are going to be so it wasn't a issue

For the price paid, considering it was a group dinner, the food should have been in more quantity and quality.

Had our works Christmas party here last night and feedback from the majority of people was good. I thought the food was lovely. The portion size was great and the food was tasty. A couple of people said their food came out a bit cold and 1 person complained about the cheesecake being soggy. On the whole the meal was a success. I was a little disappointed before hand as I had been asking for a link to pay the balance of the meal before we went and didn't receive one. I had to go in and speak to the assistant manager in the end who was very helpful. There had been a few changes which my have caused some issues with this but I had no correspondence for 3 days before I went in to see them. I even tried to call and was put through to central reservations where I had to leave a message and they never got back to me either. That being said, the waitress was lovely and had a big task on her hands. They knew who had ordered what, which was a bonus and took on board the nut allergy we had in the group. The food came out quickly and there was enough time between courses so we didn't fell rushed but also weren't waiting around for the next course. On the whole it was a great night for us all so thank you!

If only it was possible to give zero stars. As a small party of 3, we booked in advance for dinner on a Saturday evening. After confirming our booking, we received an email to confirm the same. Shortly afterwards, we received another email to say our enquiry had been cancelled “due to popular demand and limited availability”. As the email referred to enquiry rather than booking, I thought maybe there was a mistake with the system so called the restaurant directly to make sure our table was still booked. After speaking with the restaurant, they confirmed our booking was showing in their system at the time we had chosen. On arrival at the restaurant, we were informed that our table had been cancelled and we should have received an email to confirm this. I explained to the lady at the front of house that we did receive an email cancelling an enquiry, but had confirmed by telephone with the restaurant that the booking was still secured. The only explanation given was that we shouldn’t have been told this. As one of our party is gluten-free, we were unable to find another restaurant in the area to cater to our needs until much later in the evening. It completely ruined our evening taking out an elderly relative to dinner when she was feeling fit enough to be able to go to a restaurant to be turned away for reasons that shouldn’t have occurred - I can’t imagine it’s very difficult to check whether a table has been booked or not. I would be interested to know the policy or process of selecting which tables are cancelled “due to popular demand and limited availability”. I can only imagine smaller tables are the first they cut, rubbing their hands together in anticipation of the bigger profit margins, without even the courtesy to find out whether this was someone’s birthday or anniversary or any manner of celebration they were cancelling at the simple cowardly click of a button. Needless to say, this was one of the poorest customer service experiences I’ve witnessed. My final word can only be some advice for staff to be properly trained in reading a booking correctly or perhaps being a bit more human about the cancellation process. A back to basics course seems in order.

We popped in for a drink thinking it’s just another modern pub. Wow! We were lucky enough to be served by Jordan who explained with real passion about the locally brewed beers. Ask for this gentleman as he’s one of the best bar people who will ever serve you anywhere.

On a weekday afternoon we were served by Wakana. She was very friendly and made every effort to accommodate all our requests. Wakana went above and beyond and thus we had a great lunch after shopping.

I had a Sunday Roast dinner and it was such a shame as presentation was great but when it came to eating everything was so bland the taste was an earthy taste and very herbal tasting, I did not enjoy the roast

Had a lovely experience here for lunch after travelling down from Birmingham. Service food and atmosphere. We were served by a lovely young waitress named Spandan, her demeanour and attitude was very pleasant and made us feel very welcomed. Would come again!

We were a party of 36 from Scotland, booked into the Cheltenham Brewhouse and Kitchen. The booking procedures and communication beforehand were second to none. On the day, the food was served quickly and efficiently and everyone enjoyed their evening there. Thank you.

Had the three meat roast. Fine except for the chicken which was absolutely cremated/inedible. Was told because I didn't mention this until the plates were cleared/I had eaten everything else nothing could be done, but it was clear from looking at the plate the chicken had not been eaten (and that it was burnt!). I didn't expect the whole meal for free, just a few quid off and an apology - was rudely told that the manager said nothing could be done. At this point it became clear that the staff couldn't care less so didn't bother to take it any further. Poor service, poor (overpriced) food. Would not recommend

Had a Beer Masterclass on Saturday with Jordan which was brilliant. I have tended to drink lager more often than beer in the past, however the range of beers that we tried, together with Jordan's excellent guidance on everything behind the beers, has changed my mind and I will be trying more in the future. Thank you for a great afternoon, and good job Jordan!

If I had to be critical then the burger was very gristly. There were at least 6 unchewable lumps. That said the bar staff and waiting staff were very good and the place had a nice feel on a very wet Friday evening.

Our first time at Brewhouse Kitchen in Cheltenham on a Sunday lunchtime, the atmosphere was nice , busy but not loud. We were offered a table but my partner preferred to site by a window. The drinks range was good & the barman let my partner sample 2 different beers as she was unsure of what to have. We we seated & chose 2 different meals both of which arrived hot & were really tasty. I thought the service was really good at the bar & to our table & the price of both food & drinks was very reasonable. We will definitely be going back. Nick - Berkeley Gloucestershire

Burgers were average to put it politely: the chicken burger was bland, the cheeseburger had a number of gristly bits in the meat. However mid week offers made it good value and the beer was good.

Fabulous time we booked a whisky 🥃 and beer tasting experience which came with food The quality of the food was excellent The range of beers and whisky’s were interesting and not just the obvious and cheaper types. Joshua the young lad that took us on through the 5 of each drink was Knowable and made the experience fun and engaging.
