Best food and service and place ever

The Cheeky Chippy is a nice traditional fish and chip shop… It is small, so queues are often out the door… The food is wrapped in paper rather than the boxes and the portions are large. The staff were helpful and polite. I found the food nice and enjoyed my meal. The Cheeky Chippy is in a group of shops and there is parking outside although it is often quite busy so parking spaces can be a little challenging. Some of my reviews may seem unforgiving but I come from a time when everything was not “Awesome” and “near enough was not good enough”. So, if I say something is “Excellent” that is because it is somewhere better than most others… and well worth considering visiting. I hope this review was of help, please consider following my travels & reviews in the autumn of my life.

Lovely staff always pleasant well cooked food.

Been using for several years, at least once a week. Absolutely amazing staff. The owner is a diamond. Best curry sauce I've had. I would always recommend.

A daughter's opinion, even though this may be biased to you and not mean much, I hope you lend an ear. I just want to clarify the amount of care and effort that my mum puts into this place. She always worries about her chips not being perfect, or things not being to your liking. She always puts in her all, despite the potatoes changing in quality every season (summer means more sugar, sweeter potatoes). She does everything she can to ensure quality for you all, working tirelessly for this place. I just want to say how much I appreciate it, and i'm just helping her out with this small review. Thats all, thank you for eating here, we really appreciate it. ♡ To all the mums out there and everyone else too, I hope you continue to support this place, for my mum. Thank you. p.s, I personally love the Chicken burger+onion ring combo. You should try it sometime.

The owner Pawan Puri, brought in 4 lots of double fish and chips. I have to say, they were one of the nicest tasting fish and chips I have had. The 4 of us all agreed, it was really nice! I intend to visit myself again soon when I next fancy fish and chips.

Great food great portion great service.

Waited for ages for food but was the only one in the shop. I ordered a regular chips and a half chicken. Got home and the chicken was so dry and the chips were over done. The staff chat openly about the owner. The last owner cooked great chips and wish he was back as this is my local chippY!

Good food at a reasonable price but they're only taking cash so be aware of that before visiting.

For years this has been our go to chippy but today I have to say I'm really disappointed. The chips were shrivelled and tasted awful: not sure if it was due to the potatoes, how they were cooked/oil used or how long they had been waiting to be served. It's doubtful that we'd frequent this chippy again. Such a shame.

Majority of the chips had plastic on them where they had melted into the container. The battered burger was falsely advertised as a burger (Burger being bun, patty, optional salad and sauce) but instead is a patty in batter. Sausage was alright. Diet Pepsi was great! First time ordering, not too sure I’ll return….

I don’t normally review takeaway shops but.. this was the nicest piece of cod that I have had in about 2 years. The fish was tasty and the batter was cooked to perfection and I don’t like batter much, but I did tonight. 5 ***** from me, will be back again soon

I went in today and had two portions of large chips and I got two large portions of lovely chips that my sister and myself enjoyed and the fish cake and large cod was amazing. So thank you for the enjoyable food I had for ages, it was worth it.

Good price, good quality and a very clean takeaway. Wanted fish and chips on Sunday evening and this was the only place open. There is ample parking as the shop is located in a area which shares parking with other shops. Would go again.

Chippy in middle parkway very disappointed this evening , my husband went for fish and chips for us, with my 8 year old granddaughter who wanted 2 battered saveloy and chips. opened order at home find 2 non battered saveloy and one large and one small chips! . my husband returned with the small chips as we didn't order them and had too many, and to ask for the fish we ordered to be told adamantly by the assistant he didn't order fish! so I had just chips for tea and my daughter in law and granddaughter put up with non battered saveloy. we have using the chippy for about 9 years, such bad service and attitude

Small shop with limited space for customers ordering food but since the change of management food has become much better.

Recommended by friends and stop using this shop until been told is under new management. Shop is very clean and this is a good start before ordering. We are happy and surprised with The huge portion size, fish is fresh cooked and very nice chip! Kids love their chicken nuggets, very good! Will come back again! All food cooked to order so nice and hot and fresh

Used to use them once a month. Over the last 2 or three visits portions have got smaller and never very hot. Disappointing and will look elsewhere in future. A shame as used to be amazing. Chips look cooked but are hard why?

Horrible brown yet undercooked chips. How can a fish and chip shop get chips so wrong. These were just awful. 4 People eating - 4 portions in the bin.

Food here is much better now with new owners before you would get a litre of oil with your chips but now its perfect outstanding

The chips tasted fantastic, top quality, would have been 5 stars if the jumbo sausage I had tasted a little better, there was a slight off taste but still good :)

Loved it, the service was fast even though there were many people waiting. The food was also good. Got 4 cods and 2 large chips for theb4 of us, the chips portion was huge, could not finish all of them. But itbwas lovely. Cannot pay by card, but we had cash so all good.

Found out this was under new management so visited and wow 2 Large Cod freshly cooked chips delicious flavour reasonably priced visited a week later and still fabulous at least a great local chippy . I

refused oap meal for not being old. fine. however being called a girl and spoken to like that was unacceptable. I am in my 30's married have 5 son's. own my own house, have multiple qualifications. mainly in business and accountancy. being refused and called this in front of others also is disgusting and completely unfounded. IF I hadn't had my youngest children I would have stated all this to your face but remained polite regardless. better customer service would be great and perhaps a (over 55yr olds) on the wall!

I go here often and although there are a few within the same distance of me, this is by far the best! Quality food, fast service and the girls in there are always polite and friendly, what more could you ask for from such a small establishment!

Saturday 25th August chips were under cooked 2 people behind the counter drinking the little girl served something up in a pot and decided that it tasted nice wiped her finger around it 2 or 3 times each time putting her finger in her mouth. The place has gone down hill.

This place has been awesome since the last owner and is fully recommended. Chips are absolutely delicious and fish was cooked properly and everything was just perfect! Me and all my kids love this place as this is our local chippy, the cod bites was surprisingly a fare size! They do kids meals as well with free kids drinks! They had burger kids meals and a large selection of other amazing things! I tried the battered saveloys today and it was to DIE for!(fully recommended) Next time is definitely willing to try the new battered fish cake. All staff members have been polite and patient, they definitely turned the shop into one of the best chippys i’ve ever been to! Good job Cheeky Chippy! 5 Star!

Simply the best chippy in the area. Wallet friendly portions. All fish cooked to order, so it's never been sat around before you buy it. Good curry sauce. Friendly staff. Service is quick & efficient. Careful how much you order, because you'll probably order too much!

Poor service. I have just eaten a Cheese Burger and Chips, however, I found the Burger really tasteful but, the chips no. They were okay until I got to finishing up which is when I could taste raw fish on my chips, which made my stomach upset making me vomit. I will not be eating from this place again after today.

Visited on a Saturday evening. Staff good and attentive. Should have realised the problem when I saw the sign saying "no card machine-cash machine in Co-op" and "under new management"

Great fish and chips! Myself and my kids love the 100% chicken breast nuggets! Very tasty and the chips are lovely! Would be nice to see more sustainable fish options to try though give the cod and haddock a chance.

Well I did say in my last review of this place that they wouldn't be trading very long.

The food from here is not good at all, greasey and not properly cooked. They never have anything in either that you want its always "sorry only whats left in the counter". Not good at all!!

Dado Descarado Chippy varias visitas este mes, ya que es mi local chippy pero no la recomiendo en absoluto, cada vez que he ido las fichas han sido repugnante, de color marrón oscuro, y demasiado salada cardboardy que en general les hizo repugnante.

No puedo ver este lugar abierto mucho más tiempo! 1. 5 horas después de abrir el lugar estaba fuera de pescado, tartas, salsa de curry y Saveloy. . . . . La comida que estaba disponible (unas salchichas y pasteles de pescado) era preparado, las patatas fritas por suerte estaban bien.

First time ever went there but must say the best fish and chips I've ever had. Very busy but worth the wait. Staff very pleasant.

Cold fish and chips that is meant to be hot, very disappointed as it did look edible! I took a chance on this chip shop and really wish I hadn't of, as I thought the food would be cooked to order, not stone cold fish in a soft floppy greasy batter, it was all falling apart when he put it on the mound of potato scalpings, I had no vinegar as it looked wet and soggy enough! I got home, but I had no chance eating that, as it smelt and tasted of nothing and was stone cold, even the chips, another waste of money!

Chips were terrible..just one big soggy mess.. Never again

This is the best fish'nchip shop for mils around despite stiff competition it outweighs all the rest. Owned by the same family for years what you get is consistency and large portions especially if you time it right before they close. The fish is always fresh and you can always request one to be put in so it is hot. They staff who are bright cheerful and friendly will make sure that you will get exactly what you want. Unlike others it still comes wrapped not shoved into styrene containers , that way the portions are real not cut down to container size.

The best chip shop anywhere, there chips are fantastic, ALL food from Cheeky Chippy is great. The price range is brilliant, the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

This is my chippy of choice. Chips are fresh cut and fried and fish is sold small medium large according to weight. Lovely crisp batter! There's nearly always a queue here - a sign if a good chippy. Well worth a visit.

Wanted to try another nearby Fish And Chip shop so headed for Cheeky Chippy. Yeah, it's ok, standard F&C menu. Had to wait 5 minutes or so for the Haddock to be cooked but at least that meant it was nice and fresh. The Cod is offered in 3 sizes, I had a large but seriously, it was anything but large. Hate to think how small the smallest size is! Having said that, the fish tasted good, a large chips portion is just enough for 2 people but could have been a little crispier. £12.15 for two fish and a large chips. I won't rush back but wouldn't rule out a return trip.

The shop is very small so when busy it's cramped, the chips are soggy most of the time, their quality of food isn't great, the prices are a bit much, I wouldn't recommend coming here unless your desperate

My daughter and son in law purchased a house, just down the road in Bedhampton. I went looking for a chippy, and stumbled upon 'Cheeky Chippy". The food was fantastic, and we have been back numerous times now. Keep doing what you are doing guys, coz it is good :)

Went here after I read the reviews, sadly I believe these must have been written by friends and family. I had the cod which was batter filled with a white watery mush, which made me think it was cooked from frozen, or maybe it had been sitting in the warmer for too long and had carried on cooking, either way it wasn't very pleasant to eat, the haddock was cooked to order which was not that bad. I believe but I could be wrong that the chips were frozen, they were a mix of crinkle cut and straight and were very small. If you enjoy frozen fish and shop bought chips then visit this place, if not go elsewhere.

This is our local chippy & although we have 3 others a similar distance from home this is the best.The chips are brilliant, portions are large. We usually have 2 fish & 1 portion of chips between 2 adults. Staff are very nice too.

We had fish and chips here last month and were very happy with the fish... very good quality.The batter was not so good. It wasn't bad... just not the best I've had. It was very thick and stodgy in places. The chips were good... and plenty of them.It was a little expensive ... much more than our local one.Overall we were quite happy... and we would go back again.

The portions of chips are really good value and taste lovely as does the other food.This is definately the best chippy in havant area and you get loads for your money and not a box of chips that will only feed a toddler for more than your large portion here which will feed 3 easily.
