Chaska in Nottingham

Visited Chaska yesterday for a family iftaar. Great place! Was welcomed warmly by their staff (Waleed and Abz are stars!) and seated quickly. As we pre-ordered our food, it came out promptly in time for iftaar. Although the Chappal kebabs could have been slightly spicier, the tawa was delicious. They even had prayer mats out so people could pray. Would definitely keep coming here again :)

1. So the food at this place is not good, especially when you know how indian food tastes. I ordered food and was not able to eat it. Waiter was justifyung that chicken tasted bad because they prepare it for british people. The shinwari chicken i ordered which is the most expensive they have (£19) had only oil and stale chicken, Britisher will not eat stale chicken or a bowl of oil. 2. Placed order for dessert and waited for 20 minutes, and voila the waiter had not placed it, said he forgot, and guess what at that time only 4 people were dining. 3. They display big standee that they give student discount but when you ask for it, staff blatantly refuse it on your face saying they are not giving it this month, that standee will be removed. P.S. if owner sees this comment and have doubts then check you CCTV focussed on billing desk at 8:20 pm 19 March 2024. I am the one in red jacket

We saw this restaurant as we drove past a couple of weeks ago, and promised ourselves we'd try it. We were not disappointed! Food was exquisite, funky decor and music, authentic flavours and atmosphere. The guy who served us was informed, enthusiastic and delightful, thanks Abs!

Nice atmosphere, food was reasonably nice however the lamb chops were a bit tough, but nonetheless a tasty meal for all the family. Update as of March 2024 - May be a new chef but the Tava for 4 was amazing!

This is a great place to go before the Savoy Cinema - easy enough to park and great food. A warm welcome to a relaxed, family feeling restaurant. Served by Abs who was helpful and friendly. Food was great value - we had Gabber Gol Gappay, Chaat, and Masala Fries and all were cooked to a good standard and served promptly. We will be back!

Chaska is a great place !! Love it the food, service and the atmosphere. However, I did a recent take away of their Lamb Karhai, but there was hardly any lamb in the karhai. Maybe just 4 or 5 chunks of meat and the rest just sauce! Please improve that !

My overall dining experience was exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly and efficient. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, and they were more than happy to assist in choosing the best dishes to suit my preferences. If you're looking for a place that serves delicious and flavorful dishes, I highly recommend trying out the Tasty shinwara, chicken Veg Samosa Chaat, and their delightful mocktails. The variety of flavors and quality of ingredients used will surely leave you satisfied.

I went with my family and the food was amazing I got the tawa 4 and it was everything I wanted, the food was delicious everything was spot on also they had dessert and it was 10/10. Visited Chaska with my family from Sheffield. We ordered two platters with extra chicken Parmesan and chips. The food was exceptional and the customer service from Waleed was very attentive. He was very friendly. Would highly recommend visiting

This restaurant never fails to deliver amazing food all the times we’ve been. We ordered different items on the menu, starters and mains and everything was just gorgeous. The service we got from Abs was exceptional, he was always checking if the food was nice and if we needed anything else. He couldn’t do enough for us, lovely to speak to him about his background. Lovely person.

Really nice place for a decent Indian! One thing I didn't like was there's no guidance to say how spicy each item is on the menu. Would've loved to know before ordering Aloo Lamb byriani 'cause my tongue was on fire the whole time eating it. Still, loved the place (got recommended by YouTuber as one of the best Indian eateries to go to in Notts). Reasonably priced too! Definitely going back in the future

I had a table for 2 booked, we ordered a tawa for 2. The food was amazing and it came quite quickly. The front of house staff (Abs, Mahek and Usman) were lovely, they kept checking in on us and they were very easy to talk to and made us feel welcome. It was a brilliant dining experience.

First time dining here after it was recommended by a friend. Parking was easy, and the location of the restaurant was easy to find. Inside is spacious, and we were seated promptly. Opted for a tawa for 3 people, which came with a huge variety: 2 curries, plain rice, biriyani rice, naan bread, grilled meats and chips. Very tasty food and overall well impressed.

Stumbled across this gem while searching for a place to eat in Nottingham. The Veg Tapas platter was good enough for two adults and one teenager and we did a takeaway. Really looking forward to return and try the non veg tapas platter too. Ambience and service was good and staff was very friendly. Some great selection of Mocktails too.

Came all the way from South London, it was an horrible Night for us here, my family was too starving saw the reviews decided to have dinner here, Ordered lassi sweet one and salt one both where too watery, bad decision, Thought to have some starter ordered pani puri, fish pakora, and lamb chops, Fish pakora was too battered there was no COD fish, chops was too salty, When coming to the mains thalli was soo minimum size, all the currys was sweet, chips came cold, kebabs and stuff was cold and hard, If your ideology is for asian kitchens then why currys are sweet I don’t understand, all the menu says punjabi words but food is seems to English style.

I visited chaska for the very first time with my husband, although food was nice and fresh but the waiter/table setter was highly unpreofessional and ill mannered. I am surprised what kind of waiter they hired, he was 21 to 25 years old asian boy, continously starring and doing inappropriate gestures all the time when i was sitting, i wanted to complain but just ignored inside the hotel to not create big mess for me as i was with my husband so he also told me to ignore, but i hope some manager must check this review and take strict action against that ill mannered waiter.

We just moved in the neighbourhood and were excited to see this restaurant. Place is neat and clean, interiors are good. The music is a bit too loud to have a conversation. We ordered for fish pakoras, chicken seek kebabs and desi chai. The food was was serviced with a chutney and sauce. The taste was just awesome. However our excitement about the desi chai was all gone. The chai seemed like flavoured water served in earthen cups. The parking is on the road side. We couldnt see much of a parking place around there. This place provides special discounts for students.

Can't go wrong with chaska food. Parmesan chicken, tawa, keema chips, wings, lamb chops, golgapay and all their mocktails. Best place for families and taking friends. Friendly staff! Highly recommended!

As soon as we arrived we were taken care of by Abs. It was our first time in the restaurant and and he took his time explaining the menu to us. The food was amazing and freshly prepared with exceptional customer service. We will definitely be returning. (Price included starters and main courses)

Tasty food, a little heavy on the purse with worth it once in a while. Music was a little too loud but otherwise everything was great!

Food is awful and tasteless. I will not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The customer service is where the owner is a pervert who stares at every girl. If you enjoy being perved on by perverts then chaska is the place for you! The guy thinks he is some kind of stud well he needs to take a closer look in the mirror!

We found this place by error and I am so pleased that I did. The food was very tasty and the people working there were welcoming and super nice. I definitely loved the cups of the mango lassi. If some day I return to the area I'd be very glad to pass by again. Very recommended!

Chaska is awesome! It's atmospheric and the staff are always pleasant and accommodating! We're big fans of the sharing platter which is always consistent in taste and quantity! The waiter Abs was awesome, we weren't wanting for anything! I can now confirm the vegetarian sharer is as good as the meat sharer!

Food was delicious and we were served by Abz who is a tremendous asset to the business as his customers service and attention to detail was second to non. Awsome experience . Food was amazing and warm. We ordered platter for two persons and the bbq was so fresh and juicy. Biryani was very well cooked and the karahi tasted like pure Lahori Karahi. Greeted with a friendly smile from the young staff . It was rather empty hence the 2 stars but it was midweek. We ordered the tawa with fish pakora as being hungry we also got aloo paratha as a precaution. Drinks was ice cold coke and a proper chilled jug of mango lassi Anyway back to the food omdays it was the best I'd eaten for a long while. Curries were like homemade with fresh tarka . The starters that came were delicious with hardly any oil showing on the hot plate .Honestly couldn't fault it deserves the 5 stars . Price was reasonable which equated at £19 per head. It's well worth a visit guys and the service was prompt Oh the aloo paratha was banging too 😋

The portions were very small of the Tava, not worth the price. Food also no good. Very disappointed . Definitely a place I would recommend you don't go to.

Went for my brother’s post-graduation meal and had an absolutely amazing time. Service was incredible - especially from Imran and the couple of new-starters. From start to finish, the experience was really lovely and we are very glad we chose to eat here. We ordered the mixed grill platter and there was so much delicious food to share between five of us. Ended the meal with a lovely chair that went down a real treat. Super friendly service and a very pleasant experience over all. The owner came and had chats with us at various points and did everything to ensure that we were comfortable and happy. All in all, excellent!!

Had the mixed grill platter at Chaska with the samosa chaat for our starter and it was brilliant! The platter kept the food piping hot throughout the meal, and everything we ate was perfectly spiced and tasted amazing. We also had the mango lassi and chai to drink which were also made really well. The service was quick and staff were really friendly and helpful for suggesting food choices. 10/10 would go again. The owner is super friendly and respectful, and we wish him well with the business!

Love their Nashtaa (breakfast) item on Sundays. Have already been to this place 4-5 times just to eat it. Quick service too.

The food was excellent. It was spicy and served hot and fresh. The portion sizes were more than enough and the staff were very kind . We especially enjoyed the biryani rice. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely, relaxed restaurant. I've been a few times and you know the food is reliably good. Recommend the deli tawa hot plate sharer - only £30 for two people, bargain! Car parking tiny, park on street round the corner. Equally good for families -I've only been with friends, but always seem to be families in there early eve and the menu gives enough choice for the pickiest of kids

The best Desi place in Nottingham! Always good and consistent food. Prices are great for the quality of the food. I’ve been to places all over the UK and Chaska is always one of the go to places. Defo recommended.

Been coming here for over a year now and each time I’ve come the experience is 5 star! The food is a 10, prices are a 10, service is a 10, ambience is a 10! I really have no complaints; everyone is friendly and welcoming, the tables are clean and spotless! They make you feel like you’re the only customer, even when the place is packed (even the owner checks on you to ensure that you’re happy with the service). The fact that the food is reasonably priced with big portions is a cherry on top (and there are student discounts too). Lifelong customer for sure.

Came here for iftar. The food was great, the service was great but the only thing that wasn't was my wife. Then I ordered seconds.

We had dinner here today ,we were 6 people.But they served one tawa,which they normally do for 2 people and called it for SIX PEOPLE. It was only 2 half plates of rice with 2 small plates of curries, with few chicken tikka pieces ,2 beef stakes,4 seekh kebabs ,few wings. Plus staff is rude. It's just a waste of money. We should have been to a buffet,we normally pay £125 for six people including drinks ,sweets and plenty of stuff to enjoy. It was a bad experience.

One of the best places to try for Indian food, the spice almost matches India (almost). Very nice ambiance with Bollywood songs. Service is medium paced, they will not hurry you but you do have to wait a while for your dishes to arrive. They are worth the wait tho. 😜 We tried the Veg Tawa, enough food for a party of 4 it comes with a green mint chutney and it’s delicious 🤤 we ordered it about 4 times. Owner and manager are super friendly. Students enjoy 10% off. If you are in Nottingham and looking for a pocket friendly and tasty food Chaska is a must visit.

23rd February 2024, my last family trip to remember. It was my last meal my mother treated me and my sisters/grandchildren to. Who would think..... Food was nice as always, a little slow at times, presentation was bad when tje dessert came out but the cost was taken off, not because we complained but because the management had noticed our dissatisfied faces but he himself was embarrassed.

Food was good but service was not. I would not eat here again. Our food all came out at different times and we were served by at least three different people clearly with no communication between them. After finishing, paying and walking out, we were followed out and asked if we had paid! When we clearly had!

Chose to go here last night because I was passing and there wasn’t anywhere else. Well I was so glad I did because it’s definitely the best Indian takeaway/restaurant I have ever been to. All the staff were lovely and recommended I got a a mixture of different foods, set meal, for £30. Every item of food was so tasty and the variety was huge. I couldn’t fault any of it. Very authentic in comparison to most other restaurants and takeaways. Even though I don’t live close I will make effort to travel there in the future! 🤩

First time eating here. Loved it. Me and my son enjoyed a sharing platter, that to be honest was massive, delicious and has us coming back for more. Do yourself a favour, take some mates and enjoy. Well worth a visit.
