Bombay Nights in Nottingham

One of the better indian places I have eaten at. It doesn't inspire a lot of hope when you see it but the food is excellent and the staff is super friendly and nice.. Keep in mind that this is a BYOB place.

I ordered online food the delivery person is from restaurant i tried too call them 40 minutes but no one's gave me the respond.

lovely food but pickles were missing so poppadoms were a bit dry

The meat rogan Josh had quite a bit of fat in it. This is the first time we have had a bad experience with any of the meals

I am so sad that I have to change my 5* review to a 1*. I have been eating for years. Hands down, this was one of the best curry houses I have ever eaten in. I don't know what has happened, whether they've changed hands or got a new chef but the food has gone very downhill. The last two takeaways I ordered were not very nice. The first one, I thought it was a blip, a one off, as the food has always been so good. So I gave them another chance several weeks later and it was the same, very disappointing. I won't be ordering from here again. Such a shame.

Was a very enjoyable Indian. It’s hard to find a nice place that’s got flavour and decent meats in their meals but this place had both flavour and tender meats. I think next time I will have the Masala medium as I like a kick but apart from that it was all delicious . The bread we ordered was amazing. And the free O/B Were a bonus. Thank you.

Sadly we were really disappointed in our meal...the order was due to arrive between 18.20 & 18.40. It got to us at 18.55! The food was cold & unfortunately the Lamb tikka was not as described, lamb was inedible & not lamb tikka.

My partner and I ate here for the first time ever, as dine in (table reserved in advance) guests, very recently. Upon our arrival, we were met by a small group of very smartly dressed staff members/servers and were seated at our table really quickly. The table its self, looked, quite nicely set and clean. As did, the restaurant, overall! After being seated, we noticed that we were the first guests for dinner service on that particular evening. So, until further guests arrived, it was noticeably quiet (besides my partner and I talking amongst ourselves). Staff members were standing inside the entrance way during this time, engaging with one another. We could hear them from across the room, and they us presumably, which left the atmosphere feeling somewhat 'awkward', for the first 30 mins of the evening (approx). I think some sort of music, or other background noise(s), may resolve this. After placing our orders, our food was served to us nice & hot, and made, with what you could tell were fresh, good quality, ingredients. Simply upon looking and smelling everything. Portion size(s) were good, with the serving staff always close by and prompt in assisting you further, if needed. The overall experience was excellent for us! We shall definitely be returning to dine in again some time soon. But, we intend to try their takeaway service, for on our next visit. May review again, separately, after we do so.

chapati were hard so couldn't eat them. chicken tawa only tasted like garlic, there was about 8 peices of chicken. lamb buna didn't have any taste at all. really disappointed, we used to really like bombay nights but we will be ordering from elsewhere in the future. it was a waste of 60 odd quid.

The Bombay potatos smelled and tasted gone off couldent eat them and the biryani had rubbery cold chicken and the hole meal was full of hole peppercorns

Have ordered regularly from here over many years but tonight the food was very poor. The plain pilau rice was full of spices, the curry was more about peppers than meat and not a great flavour. Very disappointed considering this is not a cheap meal.

Been ordering from here for many many years me and my family, tonight’s delivery was beyond awful! Might aswell of been fed a bowl of sugar! Food wasn’t even hot when it arrived! When ringing back to ask for a partial refund and I was rudely challenged by three members of staff all telling me that’s how they are made! Definitely not!! Finally agreed to a refund for two curries and two rice that wasn’t edible, 2 hours later still waiting for my refund, only thing good about this delivery was the driver, very friendly very polite hence to 2 star for service for that reason but only! Very disappointed Bombay nights!

Hi, always enjoy curry night from your good selves. However, we found the egg fried rice different to how we were expecting it. We prefer how it was previously, whiter, sweeter and much less spicy. Having said this, Bombay Nights will still be our favourite Indian restaurant. Many thanks.

Very Welcoming, Amazing tasting food. Friendly staff. Nice decor and lots of room for all occasions. Be it a romantic meal for two or going out with your friends and family. I highly recommend this place. We'll definitely visit again.

went for a birthday party month ago waited 1 hour for starters and another 45 for the main the chicken was what you would get in a microwave meal rancid!

Overall I enjoyed my meal, slightly disappointed with the king prawn portion quantity didn't seem justified for the price i.e X2 king prawns, would have expected some accompaniments for the price quoted.

Great food, friendly staff, parking. You can walk in however best to book if special occasion does get busy. If your eyes are bigger than your belly you can take away. Also you can order takeaway they do not serve alcohol you can take your own they prefer bottles only

We booked the restaurant for a birthday party for up to 50 people. When we made the booking a couple of months ago, we were told that we didn't need to pay anything for children under 8. We counted the adults and children above 8 and there were 47 people. We accidentally counted one extra person and thought there were 48 People (they said it would be half price for the children between 8-12 years old). The manager was so rude and kept arguing that there were 52 people. He changed us for 50 people when there were only 47 people including the kids above 8. He charged full price for the children. So arrogant and disrespectful. We didn't want to argue in front of our guests so we just paid what they asked for. Chicken drumsticks on one of our tables were not cooked properly. I would never go there again unless that manager is sacked. He was nightmare but the rest of the staff was very friendly and polite. I think for £18 per person, we deserve a better treatment. That guy is awful

Very disappointing Poor service from staff - although it is bring your own alcohol you really shouldn’t have to ask for glasses. The whole atmosphere felt very unprepared for custom considering just three group bookings. Grill Prawns were ordered but the onions and peppers on the sizzle plate were charred beyond recognition therefore tainting the flavour of the prawns. All I could taste was ash. Multiple main dishes ordered for 9 people but all were tasteless and very underwhelming. Will not be visiting again.

Ordered at 1800 for 2030 delivery. I ensured I had ordered early to ensure a timely delivery for a special occasion which was then somewhat ruined due to the lateness of the food. I have never had bad food from Bombay Nights and the customer service is normally sublime. However, tonight I feel I have been let down.

Ordered a take away and was massively disappointed. Rice and starter was missing...took 30 mins to deliver 1 rice no starter or complimentary poppadom. There was about 5 pieces of meat in the curry...worst take away curry I've ever had!

The egg fried rice didn’t taste normal,for the pickle I put onion chutney but I got the mango chutney and I wasn’t happy about that .

Would benefit from some background music... but the waiters are entertaining also. You can bring your own beer/ wine. And the portions are huge...( they are always happy to give you takeaway containers). All round good Indian... and Wednesdays are 241 on mains

Order from these guys quite alot so it's disappointing to have to do this but the rice was watery & the butter chicken was full of grease. Overall the meal was tastless. Disappointing

My friend ordered a jalfrazi curry which did not mention tomatoes however there was tomato which my friend is allergic to and caused bad belly ache. Apart from this food was absolutely spot on

Wonderful meal for my 60th. As a party of 6 we were looked after so well by Dave and the team. Such a bonus to be able to take our own drinks, which are such a rip off at most restaurants. Look forward to our next visit.

Absolutely class! We used to order from here when we lived in Wollaton so was so happy to see that they now deliver to Beeston. Thankfully, they still make the same great curries. You won’t be disappointed!

Usually very tasty but the lamb rogan josh tonight was terrible. Meat quality was appalling. Tried to call the restaurant and they were rude and didn’t want to know. I have no use in another curry in 40 mins

Absolutely loved it here. Sabir was absolutely brilliant. The food was incredible. You can even take your own wine xx Beautiful air conditioned restaurant just off the ring road. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I ordered a takeout from here, it’s one of the best restaurants we’ve ordered from, the food is 10/10 always hot yea delivery may take a while but it’s definitely worth the wait. Bombay nights is our go to place they never disappoint. I wish I could give more than 5 stars

Now I love a fish curry and whilst there were some nice fish options on the menu, I quite fancied one of the chefs specials which only came with meat and was mild. I asked if it was possible to have that particular curry but with fish and a medium/hot heat, the waiters response was ‘absolutely we can do this for you’ and wow I have to say I was impressed with the outcome, it was delicious! The portion sizes were nice and big, I couldn’t eat all of mine so they let me take the rest home in a doggy bag, which I thoroughly enjoyed just as much the next day. The staff were kind, welcoming and very attentive, the atmosphere was cosy and quiet and the food was to die for. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a good curry! 😁

The Peshwari chicken curry came as a vegetable curry and the vegetable pasanda came as a chicken pasanda. When we phoned them up they thought we was lying even though the lids on container was right but contents was wrong.

Booked for 6 of us on Monday night for 7.30 arrived earlier to find a notice on the door saying closed till further notice. Had no phone call or any correspondence regarding our booking after certain members of our company had travelled a considerable distance I find this unacceptable which incurred costs to us due to having to find another venue. I definitely will think twice before booking at this venue again.

Food turned up over a hour late as the delivery driver had knocked on the wrong door. When is finally arrived curry was watery with no taste stingy amount of chicken and chips.

Fabulous food as always. Angela had the Bombay nights special lamp chops in a delirious sauce. I had my usual Jaipuri king prawns and we shared naan, mushroom rice and aloo sag. Delicious! Thoroughly recommend.

Rice and nan was cold. Rest of the food Lukewarm.
