Great visit today, we very much enjoyed our coffees and lunch. The fish soup was truly excellent, so was the crab and prawn sandwich. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the food and location. I will look forward to going back in the future 10/10

I called in here with my dogs for a lunch stop (obviously dog friendly) and what a great find this was. Firstly the place had a great feel about it being set in an old Chapel as its name would suggest and it had a nice cosy relaxed vibe. The food was great and the service very friendly and helpful which is always appreciated when I'm flying solo with 2 dogs! After my lunch I went upstairs to walk round the gallery to look at some of the objects and interpretation panels about the history of the Chapel and Port Isaac in general. This is well worth a peek but watch your footing the stairs are quite steep and it's not always easy negotiating the seated areas although I did have 2 dogs in tow! I would happily recommend The Chapel and indeed I made a return visit before we left to head back home to savour their cuisine again.

Disappointing. Seems like the reviews online are from before as the place advertised breakfast online but not available when you get there. It looks pretty inside. Food is very expensive too. Service is also quite unhelpful. Maybe its better when you go for dinner but was a waste of time for us.

We were a group of eight friends, visiting Port Isaac for the weekend. The chapel roast was recommended to us by a local couple. Four of us had pork and four had the sirloin beef. Both dishes came with Yorkshire puddings( pretty large) carrots, cabbage and cauliflower cheese. All home made and as side dishes. The gravy was delicious and the roast potatoes were perfect. The beef was particularly pleasing , just melt in the mouth, delicious. The portions were plentiful and each of us agreed it was the best roast we have had in a long time. To top it off we were able to bring our own wine which made the bill very reasonable.. the staff were fabulous, helpful, efficient and friendly. We highly recommend it.

I have just walked through my front door after what I can only describe as the best Sunday Roast I have had in many years. My friend and I had the beef which was a combination of sirloin and feather blade of beef both were cooked to perfection. The gravy/jus was rich and very tasty. A superb vegetable selection including carrots glazed with orange juice, cauliflower cheese and greens. As my friend reached out to the serving dish to fork the last couple of bits of carrot I suffered from one of those rare nasty thought moments which involved my fork being stuck in the back of her hand so I could have them! The roast potatoes were great (which is not something you can say about those served by many places) these were light and crispy. The Yorkshire pud was larger than I needed but not oversized, it was average in quality which coming from me is a major compliment. How I wish restaurants served bun tin sized Yorkshires as we did/do at my home. As I neared the bottom of my generous plate of food I commented to my friend "wow this is one of those moments you wish you had a spoon to get that last scraping of gravy up" her response "you are not kidding, I could lick the plate." With a quick glance at each other our cutlery went down and we both tore up our remaining bits of Yorkshire pud and mopped our plates down! The team working at The Chapel were all pleasant and attentive without being irritatingly too present. I suspect some reading this will know what that means. I only recently became a permanent resident of Port Isaac so this was my first visit to The Chapel. I was delighted with the ambience and decor of the place. The tables are nicely spaced so you can have a conversation without feeling like you are entertaining the people on the next table but at the same time feel a part of the place. I suppose my only grouch would be that because of its structure it is quite a cool temp place. This was fine and it was not uncomfortably cold however despite being served on piping hot plates your food goes cold much quicker in a coldish environment and I do like my food to stay hot for as long as possible. I am glad I was not there with another of my friends as she despises food as it goes cold so she eats her full meal like a starving wolf and before I have had my second mouthful (what a waste of sometimes beautiful flavours.) The restaurant/cafe is dog friendly and this is brilliant. My friend and I are both dog owners though on this occasion decided to have a "grown up" trip out without them. At the busiest dog moment this lunch time there were 6 dogs all of whom were peacefully asleep by their owners. Good dogs and good owners make for a happy combination in eateries. I say this praying that when I come in with my eldest girl she does not have a giddy moment when we first arrive! Oh my only other grouch has nothing to do with the place but instead the annoying man in front of us who was sat with his back to us but felt the need to keep turning round and staring at me - 12x long stares and that was only from when I started counting. My friend said "does he think he knows you?" Maybe he did but I didn't know him LOL. Oh well there is nowt so queer as folk! Not bad to only have two grouches and one totally unrelated to the place, its food and its team. Hats off to you Team The Chapel. I am sitting in my patio windows looking down the hill at you and the rest of beautiful Port Isaac as I type. Tomorrow morning do not be surprised to find a pulley rope with a basket has been installed over night so you can do all my meals without me having to walk down I cannot think of anything better than eating from your kitchen on a daily basis. Mind perhaps I would need that hill walk home! Thank you for being the best meal out in years.

We visited Port Isaac 25th to 28th October. It’s our second stay this year. Our first stay The Chapel had just opened. We remembered they had great cakes. This time our hosts recommended the Sunday roast at the Chapel. I had the Beef Rib and my wife had the chicken. We loved it. We both said it was the best meal out we have had in months. Already looking forward to going again. If you are in Port Isaac on a Sunday, book in for the lunch, you won’t be disappointed.

We visited on the 13th Oct 24. The first day of the Chapel Cafe's Sunday Roast offering. It was fantastic! Great value for money, very generous portions and very well cooked. Two of us had the ribbed beef which absolutely melted in the mouth and one of us had the chicken supreme roast which was delicious. All were served with delicious glazed carrots, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, wilted greens and an enormous, perfectly cooked Yorkshire puddings. If I lived in Port Isaac I would never cook a Sunday roast again. I would take my guests and family to the Chapel Cafe. We were made to feel very welcome by Emily and the rest of the staff team and the service was excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Service was relaxed and friendly and beautiful setting in an old chapel with high ceilings. Coffee was great too, just sad we missed the scones that were being baked again in the afternoon and were going to be ready in 30 minutes but we needed to head off.

Been visiting this establishment for years but very disappointed with today’s visit. The previously available breakfast menu has been replaced with breakfast baps, at £6.50 for 2 rashers of bacon and a roll (literally just that on the plate). The cafe is now bare and the staff/chef was openly rude to a customer in front of the cafe, accusing him of being a scammer. Sadly we found a total loss of atmosphere which had previously been warm and welcoming. Will not be visiting again. Apparently changed ownership a couple of months ago.

Not much choice on the menu. Overpriced (ridiculously) who offers a kids sandwich meal with 1 slice of bread with a bit of ham cut in 2 with a tiny bit of fruit on the side for £5? (And that’s without a drink!) I understand you support local businesses, buying in produce etc but come on, a full sandwich with 2 slices of bread wouldn’t break the bank!! Cakes are £5 a slice 😂 and a BLT sandwich is £9 🤦♀️ All in all it got us out of the rain and my flat white was passable, but £44 in Total for the small amount we had is extortionate! Will not return.

We visited here a couple of years ago and returned on Thursday, on my birthday, after such an excellent memory of our previous visit. I Immediately wondered if the ownership had changed, of course I appreciate the cost of ingredients has risen but over £6 for a pastry I thought was high. People arriving after us were all served first, not helped by our table number being entered into the till incorrectly so our drinks were almost gone by the time our food arrived after it had been walked around the premises before it reached us. The staff appeared flustered and remarked 'we just need a quiet half an hour' which of course I sympathise with, if they needed a break. It was ok, over priced but distinctly average and so next time we will try somewhere else.

5 of us popped in here on Sunday. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived, we weren't sure if we needed to wait to be seated or just sit down. Eventually we just sat down. I went to the counter to order to be told someone would come to take our order. After 20 mins of waiting & people coming in after us already having their orders taken we asked a passing member of staff if we could order. 25 mins after ordering our 2 cream teas arrived, we started to eat these but stopped as we wanted to enjoy them with our drinks. 10 minutes later the drinks finally arrived (35mins after ordering). The member of staff that brought the drinks didn't tell us which any of the drinks were so we didn't know which one was the decaff coffee. They forgot the Apple juice but we said we weren't waiting any longer for the drink. They also forgot our daughter's cake, which they did go back & get! We weren't the only ones that were confused about the being seated situation & alot of other customers were also getting frustrated about the waiting time. When we went to pay a member of staff that served us did apologise & say that it was her 1st day & she was just helping a friend out. It was quite expensive for not very good food & drinks or experience. From reading other reviews it seems that it has recently been taken over by new management. Hope they manage to get on top of customer service & speed in which people are served in time for the big summer rush.

Terrible! Under new management and not at all like it used to be. Manager bombastic and rude! Even the staff made comments about him and suggested it would be better if he remained in the kitchen. It was my 7 year old granddaughters birthday and she cried as we left after waiting ages for her drink (everyone else had EVENTUALLY been served). When I complained, the owner suggested I check out their great reviews online. I was later told they are not his reviews as he has only recently taken over the place! His reply to my review mentioned our waitress was from a country at war, with people dying. I would like to point out that the waitress resposible for serving us was actually local and spoke perfect English. In fact she clearly told us how difficult the owner was and this it was her first and possibly last day there. Manager needs to sort himself out and own and take responsibility for his behaviour.

Must be the worst customer experience I have received in over 70 years. Having ordered drinks for my wife, son, daughter-in- law and 3 grand-daughters things went downhill from there! Four drinks were served first, after waiting another 5 mins we informed the waitress that we were still awaiting 3 further drinks. Eventually 2 more drinks arrived but my 7 year old grand- daughters hot chocolate still did not arrive. We again informed the waitress who looked at me as if this was to much trouble. When the hot chocolate did arrive it contained marshmallows, even though we had requested none due to my grand- daughters being Muslim, so not eating anything with pork. This went down like a lead balloon as the waitress was obviously put out from her reaction! My wife then spoke to the owner who instead of appologising blamed everybody else and was extremely rude and offensive to her. The owner urgently needs to enrol for a customer relations course or may end up losing his business.

The very BEST was the Smoked Haddock Chowder was positively amazing... the flavors were so on point, fresh prawns, fresh haddock with sweet peas, onions and the most delightful, flavorful, lightly creamy broth served with freshly baked bread so you could soak up every drop of this 10 out of 10 dish. I would suggest spreading jam first, then cream, as these scones were still hot and the cream-first attempt melted somewhat 🫠. There is a lovely atmosphere and aesthetic to the space, and the exhibition above has art and history to peruse as you digest. Overall, I would highly recommend it! If you’re looking for: disorganisation, order mixups, comedy miscommunication - then this is the place for you! Not much choice in Port Isaac, so this place on the coastal path should clear up - but no! Sadly, they had no oat milk or decaf tea, the carrot cake was being made as we ordered but never appeared from kitchen, the toilet roll dispensers were out, the oat latte was made with cows milk and was just milk with beige colouring, we weren’t given any serviettes, our sandwich was given to a different table (who enjoyed it immensely!), and the chocolate brownie we ordered was forgotten completely. On the plus side, Thankfully the staff were so friendly and tried to fix everything. But clearly the cafe opened two weeks too early. Can’t help but feel sorry for the staff who did all they could. Given 4 stars for the attempts at service and the sandwich when it came was nice. We’ve haven’t stopped smiling since.

My immediate first impression was not good. We felt like an inconvenience to the person serving us who was also over familiar, bordering on rude. The coffee was OK but overpriced and luke warm. Nice building but full of loads of random things for sale. A lot of signage about who can and cannot use the toilet. Also the 'wait here to be seated' lecturn seemed a bit over the top.

Visited Chapel Cafe last week. We’d visited just after they opened and loved how they’d utilised an old chapel and made a beautiful cafe and shopping. Sadly, they are closing down imminently. Staff are under the impression that a high end delicatessen may open in the building. I hope they still keep a cafe for snacks and lunches. It’s been a very popular stopping place for dog walkers and people like us who like to support the community when we’re holidaying locally.

About to close forever. Everything for sale bit mainly bought in rubbish. Ladies seving were l9vely and a stunning safrom cake. Being concerted into a high class deli to service the incomers who have killed this lovely village.

Stopped here new years day after a coastal walk, expecting good food and warmth. Instead we got stung. Bacon sandwiches for £7.95...just about OK in Port Isaac if decent and well presented. Well they literally were bacon in a sandwich (no salad, crisps or anything like that). And my inspiration to leave a review was my sandwich seemingly being composed of fat trimmings rather than bacon rashers. To make it even more gross they were barely cooked! Raw fat sandwiches. Lovely! This place is closing their kitchen soon I think and then selling so probably don't care but hopefully will read and feel a little shame at least.

Our first visit to Port Isaac, staying high-up above the village. We found the Chapel Cafe on our first tricky walk down to the harbour (pensioners...hip & knee problems!) & the cream tea was so good we made the trip twice more during our week's stay. The scones are probably the best we've ever had, actually baked fresh to order! The staff & atmosphere were lovely & the heritage exhibition in the gallery was well worth tackling the stairs for. A gem of a find.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. We ordered 2 cream teas and a luxury hot chocolate, I have to say they were best we have ever had. I have a very fussy 10 year old and husband and neither could find fault with anything and raved about it all day. My 10 year old even commented on how friendly the gentleman who served us was and was always smiling.

What a delightful little cafe & shop. The scones in the cream tea were the best tasted, and we've had a lot, so far. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff.

We wanted to find a place for a decent brunch and after checking out the info in the folder in our cafe, we decided visit the Chapel Cafe. The food was delicious. Two had the full Cornish and the veggies had the vegetarian. It was delicious. The best bit for the veggies was the Homity Bon Bon - a fried-ball leeks, potatoes, cheese, onions, rolled in bread crumbs. Oh my, it was delicious. Coffees were good too and they did soya milk too, which pleased one of us. Really good value, quick service, rammed full and popular with the fishermen.

Very overpriced. £10 for a take away ham sandwich. No discount given either. Most places reduce price if take away. Sandwich was tasty though

Simply outstanding!! From the moment you are greeted to happily offering a generous tip " The Shack " in Falmouth is a must for all sea food lovers! The food, the flavours, the portion sizes, the choice, the price.. all just great value! If it was closer this would be our local go to most weekends. Nothing to fault here! Highly recommend you visit! Thankyou for a super lovely evening Keisha Craig and family from Newquay. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5

My hubby and I ate there last night. We both had steak and chips followed by treacle pudding, all washed down with a couple of pints. The food was very tasty and perfectly cooked as was the ale well kept. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Our two large dogs were very welcome and had plenty of space to lie down and look longingly up for treats. The price was exceptionally good value these days so will definitely be going back!

Booked for Sunday lunch, 5 kids 6 adults. Everything was amazing. The staff were excellent, attentive and friendly. The roast dinners were probably the best I have eaten out, I could of done with more belly pork but only because it was so delicious. The crispy rice pudding, coconut sorbet desert was outstanding. They've got it spot on in this restaurant 👌.
