Start on a good note, the cafe is very clean, lovely comfy seats , the staff polite and friendly. Now the not so good, both had the full english, we have never seen so much grease on a plate, the hashbrowns were enabled as oozing grease and very pale sausage, We asked for sausage to be cooked more , a lady came over with a clip board and pointed out they had been checked. She said she would replace the whole breakfast, Very kind we thought, unfortunately the second breakfast was not much better, but sausage was a little more brown. Not sure how the cook can get so much grease on the plate and hashbrowns dripping in fat . While I love seeing dogs welcome in a cafe I do think the staff need to make folks aware that dogs should be kept quiet as at times you couldn't hear yourself think with one of the dogs barking. Unfortunately this cafe is not for us and feel we have been generous in giving 3 stars .

Chandlers is an amazing place to go, and frankly I can't believe my parents found this little hidden gem and the food is absolutely gorgeous!

Very friendly and spacious; lovely atmosphere; attentive service; it was also cool on a hot day. The food was hot, well presented and the quiche was delicious!

Amazing to find a place that caters for gluten free and people with food allergies, plenty to choose from, really accommodating staff and impressed with the service! I had the most amazing dairy free gluten free brownie milkshake, oh it was fab! Thank god to find a venue that caters for all.

Lovely cafe in a small village centre. Very varied menu with new ideas but the old favourites still there. Plenty of free parking in the area. Well behaved dogs welcome. Sometimes a bit noisy when toddler groups meet.

What a wonderful find! I asked my friends who live in the area to take me out to a good pub meal. They suggested The Temple Inn. They had been previously and had the Hungarian Waldorf Salad and the Goulash and raved about it. Oh my gosh. From the warm and friendly welcome to the cosy village pub vibe, a warm heartening fire crackling nicely to chase the winter chills away, this pub is a sure thing. The food though, that’s what sets this pub apart!! It’s so good. The pub has a Hungarian family running it and the influence is found throughout the menu and in the food. Classic pub grub is definitely all there, including the ubiquitous Steak and Ale pie, which I had. The meat was spiced perfectly, the gravy was so delicious and the mash melted in my mouth. The vegetables were steamed for clean flavours and still had a healthy bite to them. My friends had the carrot soup as main and roast lamb. Even though it wasn’t on the menu I asked for Garlic Bread which the team happily provided. It was so fresh and delicious. I have the feeling the make their own bread - but cannot confirm this. Both were very tasty and well prepared. My Pie was the winner though. Dora and Agnes are charming hosts and I absolutely would make a detour to stop and eat here again. (In fact it was so good we all went back the next day for lunch!!!!)

Update Jan 2020: Despite there being 4 members of staff behind the counter doing nothing, table hadn't been cleaned and was covered in cake crumbs. Ordered a latte and surprise, surprise it was lukewarm and was sent back. Friend then arrived and ordered two more coffees and once again they were served lukewarm. This is pretty basic stuff and really should be sorted by now. Update Nov 2023: Wow, what a transformation! A change of management/staff? Anyway, Cafe 1759 is vastly improved. Good food, good (hot!) coffee, great service. Just needs some comfier seating. Recommended. Update May 2024. Oh dear. Things have taken a down turn again. Out of coffee!!! Very limited menu as they were also out of most things on the menu. Couldn't someone nip to Lidl? Plus couldn't order an alternative from the breakfast menu as it was past 11:30! Won't be returning any time soon.

Sunday Lunch 2:30 and they didn’t have the following:- - Cocktail - Lamb Roast - Turkey Roast He the only roast left on the menu Beef. Arrived beef, advertised as served pink and served with cauliflower cheese, came with no cauliflower cheese and 5mm slab of tough burnt beef. Gravy was served later and the tap water was warm and not very nice. Staff were very apologetic, atmosphere could have been good if meal matched decor. Not the pleasant Sunday meal I promised my wife

We sat and had table service. Getting served was good but receiving the food was slow. Food was very good though. Many gluten free options here. The burgers were amazing! Lovely little pub. Be sure to register your numberplate with the bar even if you have a disabled badge or you will get a fine.
