EXCELLENT COFFEE & BISCUIT WITH THE COFFEE, so nice we stayed for two cups!! Very dog friendly staff made lots of fuss of our dog as did other customers coming in making a fuss of him. TREATS AVAILABLE FOR DOGS TOO which was a lovely thought and deserving of business. BEING NEW TO THE AREA AND HAVING BEEN TURNED AWAY FROM OTHER NOT AS NICE CAFES NOT DOG FRIENDLY it was nice to find a genuine dog friendly cafe. There is a step into the cafe which makes it inaccessible for disabled people and unsure if there is a portable ramp, didnt see a sticker on window saying there is one available? Something that can be addressed and advertised on website by owner which would allow us to come back with other members of our family and Im sure bring in other customers/tourists looking for accessible cafes.

Weve just recently moved back to Torquay, avid coffee drinkers and live in Torre. We have been down to all the expensive companies and not had great service but this little gem has been wonderful, we can sit outside and people watch and its very cheap and great quality coffee made superbly. We now pop into see the guy who works in there, want to say Nigel- might be wrong! He always is so cheerful and makes out coffee experience- we will be regulars now. Kate and Ricky xxx

This was my 4th visit to this place and I was not impressed at all. The actual breakfast on the plate had burnt toast and a real tomato when I asked for tinned toms. Sent back twice and the serving lady did not like it at all and didnt apologise or offer some sort of compromise to assauage my irritation. This time the breakfast had defo been heated up in a microwave and was luke warm and the egg was hard and over done. The beans looked tired and re-heated and it was poor standard. Also I had to pay extra for 2 sausages and 2 eggs which I defo didnt do last time. The sausage was vile and was just warm. I dont know if the chef was having a bad day or it was another chef but this time I was not happy paying £7.95 for a sub-standard brekkie. Such ashame as Torre doesnt have the best reputation as an area of Torquay and it would seem that Central Caffe is like every other cafe in a dumpy area....poor quality chav cafe that serves poor quality food by a poor quality chef who cannot be consistent with high standards. It is just typical of Devon cannot find anywhere decent to eat as chefs dont seem to understand that standards have got to be high to ensure repeat customers and for me now its a home made sandwich cause I wont be going there again as its turned out to be your bog standard low class greasy spoon not the fine dining experience on previous visits.

Walking back to get bus and was hungry so thought I would try in here. At first I was abit put off as the menu wasnt easily available to see so had to ask. The actual menu was a scruffy, grubby laminated cheap looking plastic cardy type thing but no matter. I had a veggie brekkie and it was fantastic. Hot and fresh.....not a microwave in sight. Presented nicely and toast was crisp and not cheap marg. The plate was was a nice high quality dinner plate and the cutlery shiny and clean no finger marks or water marks anywhere. The staff left me alone and didnt watch or hawk around me and didnt feel self conscious at all. The ketchup and brown sauce came in little white bowls and looked fresh and shiny. Not a grubby sauce bottle in sight. The actual food was not tired or had been reheated it was brand new. I will defo be going their again abit expensive £7.95 but well worth it. Top notch eclectic cafe and I expect high standards with food and this was excellent.

The coffee was lovely. The staff were lovely, but in this day and age skinny milk should be offered let’s face it even if they waste some of it a 4 pinter won’t cost them much. Both myself and my sister wanted skinny milk only semi skimmed was offered. It’s like going back in time. we really liked it here, but I don’t understand why more choices of milk weren’t offered.

Gorgeous cream tea and the scones were slightly warmed. Best coffee of our holidays and courteous staff. We can’t fault anything we had. We even stayed for another cuppa. If only we lived locally as I’d come back again

Nice relaxed atmosphere, with good choice of food. A group of 6 of us had a range of choices to eat, with wine and pretty good standard overall. Personally, I found the jerk chicken little more than a chargrilled chicken bread, with no authentic jerk heat, but with the rice etc, it was a nice meal. Just not what I had hoped. The other 5 were happy with there choices though, the salmon getting particular praise.
