Cattlemens in Harrogate

Whenever I'm in Harrogate I come here for lunch.

Came in with the family I had the rib eye steak was cooked lovely and the blue cheese sauce was nice kids meals were good and reasonable couldn’t fault the staff and the experience, would defiantly return.

My husband and I visited here last night we never booked but arrived just before 7pm and was told if we return in 1 hour we could have a table, so we did just that. And so glad we did return the restaurant was busy and had a nice buzz about it.Well I ordered the mozzarella melts as a starter and the hubby had potato skins with cheese and added chilli to them as a extra , I must say mines was nice but wished I had ordered the potato skins as they looked yummy hubby said they were the best he had ever had.As for the mains my hubby had always planned to have a steak which he did a 22oz T-bone asked for it to be cooked medium with homemade chips and salad, I had the rustlers chicken served with jacket potato and side salad. My hubby said his steak was cooked maybe more than medium but was actually cooked to perfection and said it was the best steak he had in a long time, and my chicken was delicious also. We will both return to this restaurant and was well worth the drive from York. The staff was friendly , helpful and they were all super busy but still asking if we were ok and how was the food. Cannot fault this place but would recommend perhaps booking ahead to guarantee a table at time of choice. I can now see why the place gets so busy the dining experience was fantastic .

Tried Cattlemens for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were the second table in the restaurant and after seating ourselves weren't brought menus. Eventually ordered drinks (which never came and had to be reordered) and food - we ordered Cajun shrimp, ribs, pulled pork sandwich and fries. The Cajun shrimp were to share as an appetiser. For £7 we expected more than 3 pieces on the plate. The shrimp were fine, a bit greasy and not particularly flavourful. Quick turnover from starter to main although our waitress didn't really seem to know what she was doing. Ribs were fine and only came with fries - no onion rings or coleslaw like you may see elsewhere - and this seemed steep for £15. The fries were nice but a little bland and the pulled pork sandwich was seriously unseasoned, the meat being stringy and chewy. Finished mains, waitress took plates away and we waited for a dessert menu or offer of the bill. And waited. And waited. After 15 minutes of sitting there, in a fairly empty restaurant, we had to ask to see a dessert menu, which the waitress seemed surprised about. Ordered the brownie and was really disappointed - it was not a regular brownie but a lemon meringue flavour brownie, which tasted more like gingerbread. It was not pleasant and had that been stated on the menu we would not have ordered. Food was average and overpriced, service was slow for no good reason.

Thought we would try as open early and with a young child so gave it a go! Will not be returning as food was tasteless and greasy. Service was ok no complaints here. Food just poor and not for us.

We really enjoyed our meal at Cattlemens. Went for the early doors which is a bargain, then went on for a show at the International Centre. A great evening had by all.
