No GF food on menu, Jasmin had a chat with chefs who rustled up a hot meal for me. Excellent service.

Great pub in centre of Harrogate. Great selection of drinks and a great atmosphere.

Enjoyed the many methods for which we could order, and that a server still came to the table to see if we'd prefer to order with him. The food was excellent and came very fast. The staff all came by to play and entertain our dog and provide water.

Over cooked fish,oven chips chewy batter. Don't know what happened to this place.

Nice place. Didn't eat but meals looked good. Would definitely return.

Warm and pleasant interior. Service was quick and plenty of TV screens to watch sports. We only had an hour so couldn't try the food.

Vreselijke plek. Wij zijn weg gelopen. We zochten iets te eten. Wij kwamen binnengelopen en werden als aliens aangestaard. Er was niets meer over op het menu. De sfeer was niet bestaand qua verlichting en alles was nogal smoezelig.

Four of us visited this pub on a Christmas shopping trip we received a warm welcome we stayed for some food which was delicious. Lovely clean pub friendly staff and excellent service it was so good we came back the next evening and the next time we visit Harrogate we will definitely call in again.We would highly recommend this establishment.

Very welcoming, comfortable bar. Friendly and efficient staff, spotlessly clean, good mix of customers (regulars, families, couples). Food extremely tasty and good value. Pool tables available, sport on plenty TVs, great location

My online booking requests were as I wanted, the exact tables I always enjoy sitting at, thsnk you. Whilst the steak and ale pies were a good size and nice they were let down by the small portion of mash potatoes and two slices of carrots served with them, but it was all nice and hot, just a little small for us. Perhaps an offer of small/large portions of these could be an option.

Friendly pub. Had a quick drink so I was not able to try the food. I would return when I have a bit more time. Allowed my pet access.

Lively bar in the town centre. Very popular with visitors and locals. 8 handpump ales were available, I chose a guest ale from Devon, which was in perfect condition. Live Football was being shown on the large screens during my Saturday afternoon visit. I would recommend and visit again! 🍻

good example of solid pub wuth food. nice guys behind the bar, efficient and helpful. food ordering apo worked well even though too many veg sides missing. dog well looked after too. not busy on a wed night.

Been visiting here for several years whilst visiting Harrogate and for the past 2 days for food/drink (lots) and football. Walked out this evening after some of the juvenile staff decided to persistently throw/bang a bottle of Vimto onto the bar despite telling them it was annoying and pissed me off. Left to spend my money elsewhere and won’t be coming back. Pathetic 😡

Visited on Sunday evening. Big bar. It was empty. Closed at 10pm.

We had a lovely meal here. The lamb shank pie was amazing according to my husband and my 8 year old said the childrens meal was lovely too. Dog friendly and great atmosphere.

We pre- booked online asking for a quiet table to celebrate our Anniversary. On arrival we were told ‘just sit anywhere’. My husband ordered from the Pie deal but was told that neither of the real ales - Doombar and Nicholson IPA were available. He was told he’d have to choose a lager instead which he doesn’t drink. He suggested to the ‘manageress’ that he could have the one ale which was available and she refused saying he’d have to pay its full price on top of the deal. We were not impressed. The starters of croquettes and hoummus & olives were fine and the steak & ale pie was acceptable but my tiny deep-fried fishcakes were 95% potato - hardly a salmon flake in sight! (Tip : buy Aldi’s own salmon fishcakes which are much bigger and contain about 75% salmon for a fraction of the price). A disappointing outing for a special anniversary. The establishment was almost empty and compared unfavourably with the lively and bustling Piano & Pitcher bar next door

Worked as a Door supervisor here for an evening; the Alexandra has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly bar staff. I'd recommend a pint here to anyone visiting Harrogate

Disappointing food. Staff said they would speak to chef - nothing mentioned to us following that chat. £12 for a below average burger is ridiculous. Shame we didn’t get any follow up after staff spoke to the chef.

Staff very friendly, food well presented, tasty & well cooked. This is the 2nd time we've stayed in Harrogate and on both accasions have made the Alexandra our priority for evening meals.

Enjoyed the nicholsons burger, a bit messy but fantastic, best Guinness I've had in Harrogate for a while!

My favourite place to watch sport in Harrogate, beer selection is always brilliant with all the old favourites on and some great hand pulls if you like ale. Can't comment on the food but always a good atmosphere.

Nice place in a lovely street, cosy and generally quite clean with good service. However we waiting over 45mins for 2 small bowls of food. This was after asking where the food was.. . as we couldnt believe how long we were waiting. When it was delivered to the table, the portions were so small I genuinely thought they were freebies for the wait. To rub salt into the wounds, another table close by seemed to also have an issue with the wait of the food but they were offered a free drink! Tbf the wait staff were very apologetics and explained it was extremely busy... so perhaps some help for the kitchen staff would be good especially considering it was a Saturday afternoon.

Waited until we had bought a drink and then informed us food was no longer being served. Menus were on the table on we asked if we took a table and then ordered at the bar. To which the bar tender replied yes. Staff shortages or not, removing food menus from tables and common courtesy in being honest cost nothing.

Pub was cold, only just bearable with coat off. Hand pull ale lines have not been cleaned for a while - beer tasted 'off'/vinegary. Ordered 'famous' steak pie that barely had any steak in it. Overall a poor and disappointing experience.

Great atmosphere, where we watched the WC semi England vs France. And fantastic food.

The Alex is a proper pub. It's is decent for sport. Although the screens are not massive they are plentiful and there is always a sight line to an alternate screen whenever some man mountain decides to stand directly in front of you. A good range of beers and bar snacks are available. There are loads of tables and loads of standing. In fact I don't think there is any other places in town that are as large as the Alex and yet still more of a pub than a bar and more beer than food focused. I've occasionally seen dogs in there before now too, so I assume that well behaved 4 legged drinking buddies are allowed. I'd check in advance on that though.

Stopped in Harrogate for lunch and found this bar, looks great inside with some history thrown in (check out the walls). Unfortunately when we got there they had no Sunday lunches left but did have a steak and ale pie which was amazing and the veg with it was nice too. I would 100% recommend.

I ordered a ocean fish and chips. Food came out and it was the normal fish and chip. I raise with staff and got told it was the kitchens fault 20 mins later I went to the bar for a drink asked about the rest of my order they said there is loads of tickets on lol. I have finished my mean and still waited for the rest

Was busy but still got a warm welcome from the staff. Shame the full menu was not on, but that happens. Had a cheese burger, and even though the price was a bit high, it was worth the cost. Well cooked and tasty. First time in here, but I will be back. Well done to all the staff for being friendly and making sure it's clean and tidy

Excellent venue to enjoy your drinks, football games and unbelievable nachos. The best I have ever tasted. I strongly recommend it.

I remember this venue being buoyant and vibrant, this wasn't the case on Saturday 17th September, very quiet for such a large venue, looking around it looks tired and unloved, on the upside, a great pint of Guinness.

Great pub. Sat and watched the Hundred. Really good for sport, loads of screens and really friendly service at the bar. Not in Harrogate much but definitely my goto for the match when I am.

Great food here, we ate here both nights we stayed in Harrogate, both dishes I had were very tasty. Nice spacious bar, so your not on top of each other. And nice big windows to look out over park.

Lovely pub. Just popped in with friends after afternoon tea at Mama Doreen’s. We weren’t keen on the Sauvignon Blanc we bought for £21 so a really helpful gentleman called Adam helped us choose another wine with no additional cost. His customer service skills were excellent and I feel he will go far. Thanks Adam. You do a great job. Friendly with a great attitude in knowing what it takes to keep the customer happy
