A little gem I was introduced to for the first time. I entered with a smile and left with an even larger one. What a lovely and quaint tearoom. If one wishes to step back in time, this is a place to visit. The hosts and service were excellent, as was the food.

Wonderful. This is a tea room as you would expect. Olde world at its best. Take your parents or grand parents. They will remeniss so much. The food was basic but so well prepared. Try the scones. It doesn't matter if they were plain, cheese or fruit. They were fantastic. Thank you. It was wonderful. Ps...... A word of advice. Book ! They were full and not surprisingly !!! 😁😁

Lovely traditional tea room serving delicious cream teas, cakes and sandwiches. Visited with family to celebrate a birthday. Staff were helpful and made us very welcome. I shared a traditional cream tea and a savoury cream tea (cheese scone, cream cheese, relish and bacon). Absolutely gorgeous! Cakes and sandwiches were fab too. Parking nearby (small charge) and nice walks locally. Dog friendly which is an added bonus.

Not good I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you are over the age of 90. All the good reviews are from people with dementia and the food is all soft or puréed because most of the customers don’t have teeth. It is the perfect place if you want to experience all the bad things about the 1920s - this tearoom gave me Great Depression! The toilets are even in the garden so I now understand why pensioners always complain about how hard their lives used to be. The sandwich was underwhelming and I feel like I have aged 20 years from the mental strain of eating it. If you have good enough eyesight to read this review, you are too young to go here!

The Castle tearooms is like stepping back in time to the 1940s. The building is very much in keeping with the castle and the local area but still very wheelchair accessible. We took my sister there today in her electric wheelchair and we were able to access the tearooms easily by the side entrance. The staff were very attentive and helpful and adjusted the furniture to accommodate us. We spent a couple of hours enjoying coffee, lunch and their delicious cakes as always. Visited with friends, coffee, and tea review, okayish! Cakes were very good, but when we requested slices of cake to buy to take home we were told,'no as may be needed for cafe customers'? Not suitable for wheel chair users because of steps and irregular garden paths. Seating in garden, and toilet in garden for all customers. After your visit, take time to look at the old items in room by exit. Car parking available, but beware 'you have to pay'. Find time to walk around. and inside the Castle.....you will have to bring your imagination in! Lot of history in and around Pevensey. Don't forget to have a look at the Old Mint House in the High Street.

I rang to book a table as other reviewers recommended, glad to find car parks right outside, went in and were greeted and given a lovely table and menus. When I rang I forgot to mention that I've got some allergies, so when I asked what was available for me to be able to eat safely it took the lady serving me quite a while to find anything but I was so grateful, that even when they were very busy they did spend a lot of time checking ingredients. If you do have any allergies I would recommend that when you ring to book, you let them know first! I had a lovely home made scone with jam and cream, hubby had two and we really enjoyed how delicious they were. This is a quaintly British tea room, dogs are welcomed both inside and out in the garden - which is beautiful.

Visited the Castle Cottage Tearoom for the first time after many years and change of hands. Opening times are restricted now Table booking only However we were allowed to come into the tearoom for a drink and a snack provided we vacated the table by 2 pm due to a booking The hot chocolate was made with semi skimmed milk. The toasties were okay and the tearoom was very oldie worldly not like when Barbara ran it. When I asked for the bill, I asked to take away 2 slices of cake. I was told that I couldn’t have any cake as they had more customers due in!!! What’s the difference between buying the cake and eating it there to buying the cake to take home in order to vacate a table. I was disappointed in the tearoom as it stands today

My partner and I have been wanting to stop by to this team room for quite some time after spotting it on our Sunday walk. Today, we stopped by and shared a Nanna’s high tea, which was absolutely delicious. The BLT was perfect, the fruit scone was still warm and the coffee and walnut cake was lovely. The portion size was ample along with the amount of cream and Jam for the scone - there wasn’t any scrimping here. The gentleman, which served us, was attention and made us feel really welcome; the food and drinks came out in perfect timing. What a fantastic place. We came down to do a walk on the Pevensey Levels and round the Castle and had lunch here before we set off. I had cheese scones with chutney and cream cheese and it was amazing! My wife had Toasted Sandwich that was also great and wonderful pot of tea. Everyone there was so friendly and found out it opened as a tea room in 1874! Everything about it is perfect and the cheese scones reminded me of the ones my Grandmother used to make! We will return many times :)

Jarvis Brew is a hidden gem. The coffee is fantastic and there are always a wide selection of pastries, cakes (inc. gluten free for a pal of mine) and even bacon rolls, freshly made, for my always eating sons! I am going to make this a regular stop for my morning routine.

We just happened to be passing by when I noticed a sign for Nibbles; it looked ideal for a quick coffee and something to eat. This place is an absolute gem; it has a great menu selection and excellent quality food at very reasonable prices. I went for a mug of decaffeinated tea and a hotdog; the hotdog was fantastic; it's the real deal! The proprietors are husband and wife and are great fun to talk to. They are really friendly people. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will visit again the next time I am in the area. *UPDATE* 4/12/23 I popped into Nibbles today and had a full English breakfast. It was fantastic, beautifully presented, and perfectly cooked with decent-sized portions. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo, but trust me when I say it's excellent value for money. 10 out of 10. Highly recommended! *UPDATE* 17/8/24 I popped in again and had a lovely cheeseburger and chips, and it was great! Excellent service and had a pleasant chat with the owners, charming people. Very consistent high-quality food.
