Popped in for lunch. I had jacket potato wirh cheese and beans - have to say it was absolutely delicious. My friend had jacket potato with coronation chicken - she polished hers off too and we both had coffees. Reasonably priced and left felling full and happy with great service!

I have eaten in this charming café on numerous occasions & have also ordered takeaway. I keep returning as I & my boyfriend really ❤️ Louise's homemade, delicious food at very competitive prices. Louise & Zoe are always very welcoming & friendly & their café is spotless. Apart from a great selection of breakfasts, light lunches, sandwiches, baps etc & scrummie homemade cakes. I come in for Louise's quiches, shepherds pie, chilli & her own version of ratatouille - tastes so much nicer to have homemade, rather than convenience foods. Thank you Louise & Zoe for providing such a lovely café to visit in Polegate, Val Knott 🌻❤️

A lovely place to eat with a good choice of food, very relaxed and cheerful staff. I've been here many times since and it's as good as ever, I recently had a delicious breakfast. I've noted that there are many happy customers here and the atmosphere is great 👍

It's a lovely cosy cafe always a friendly experience. I love going there regularly and catching up with Zoe and the others. The food is great for breakfast and lunch times. Only downside is the closure at 3pm xx

Excellent welcome and service here, after hunting around for a dog friendly cafe, and being turned away by another one, we found the Cherry tree and we're so glad we did! I had a chicken and mushroom slice, warmed up so nice and crisp pastry. Hubby had a coronation chicken sandwich which was obviously freshly homemade and a very generous sandwich indeed. I'd highly recommend a visit!

Beautiful little cafe, very friendly staff, great availability and range of foods. Freshly made with fresh great quality ingredients. If you ever find yourself in Polegate it's definitely the place to come for lunch.

Sadly, we attended Eastbourne on 24/6/22 as a result of a funeral. Travelling from London we thought we would stop off nearby for a leg stretch and a coffee/cake break restbite beforehand. As we drove through Polegate we saw a friendly, open space "eaterie" by the name of the Cherry Tree Eatery. As we parked up we also noticed a big Costa Coffee establishment on the opposite side of the road. We decided to support local businesses and went for the local shop. What a delight..! The staff were friendly, attentive and more than anything the sausage sandiwich(es), the gigantic ice bun and the capucchinos/hot chocolates were the right tonic to prepare us for the days events. It was a perfect "stop off" just to lubricate the lungs and a welcome stop off. To anyone passing through Polegate, from a completely independent non bias reviewer this was a fantastic place to visit. Top marks..!

I order from here almost every Friday for takeaway sandwiches or paninis for my workplace, and I wouldn’t get them from anywhere else. Staff are lovely and food is always delicious.

What a lovely place to go for coffee and cake. We were served by Louise who was such a lovely lady and had our order brought too the table. The coffee was great and the cake was scrumptious so would go definitely go here again and recommend it too others.

Popped into this lovely lil Coffee shop yesterday as it was my mates birthday! Chose the fab freshly cooked Victoria sandwich cake with cream & cherry compote… absolutely delicious. Good coffee and very reasonable cost …. Loved it ♥️

I eat here all the time with my partner. We're never disappointed. Louise makes the best pizza around, the best scones, quiche, good coffee, nice berry smoothies. It is an absolute gem of a place and so warm, welcoming and caring. Louise always takes the time to have a chat and the other staff are really caring too, looking after their older customers. I had the pizza today which was amazing. Love this place!

Such a lovely eatery. We stopped off for coffee and cake after school, just as they were about to close. Louise was wonderful and offered to stay open to cater for us. Didn’t feel rushed in the slightest and the food was delicious. Was made to feel very welcome. Definitely recommend. My daughter loves this little gem and has been building a lovely friendship with Louise too. Thank you xx

I don't usually stop in Polegate but as I needed a coffee I dropped into The Cherry Tree as I prefer to shop local. The coffee and food were good and excellent value for money and the staff helpful and friendly. A senior citizen sitting next to me told me that her Daughter In law had recently died and I imagine she lives alone and feels such a loss more acutely. The staff members both came over and sat down with her to listen and show her sympathy. Such seemingly small but important gestures of common decency and human compassion.Small local business' like the Cherry Tree offer so much more than the chain store coffee shops-they're part of the fabric of society.

I have my lunch here sometimes and always very friendly and lovely food. I would highly recommended.

The Cherry Tree should be on your regular visit list as it is mine whether you're vegan or not. As well as homemade cakes the light bites menu is very good and well priced. Service is excellent. Try it for yourself.

We recently stopped for morning tea, we were visitors from Australia, first day in the UK. We were given a five pound note in change, afterwards we discovered the note was no longer in circulation and that newer plastic notes are used. Interesting the staff member would do such a thing to an unsuspecting customer.

We visited for lunch and it was not that busy We ordered 2 standard breakfasts and coffees The breakfast was really good with quality ingredients and cooked quickly in front of us .We then followed breakfast with a piece of homemade cake from their selection . Popped in for full English breakfast have been to GP for a fasting blood test. Very nicely cooked, hot food all washed down with a nice flavoured black coffee. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Cycling through the town of Polegate which without wishing to be unkind to its residents has nothing to offer to a visitor, my bicycle got a puncture. Not wishing to have a go at repairing the puncture myself (hungry and cold) I took the bike to a local bike shop and was told to return in 45 minutes. I wondered in the High street looking for an eatery and eventually came across this establishment. I chose it for no other reason than it's name. Eventually with the help of the young owner of the business, I decided on Chili Con Carne. One taste of the Carne and I fell in love with the place. Having eaten this meal many times in the U.S. prepared by Mexicans, this was the best Carne I have ever tasted bar none. I had two portions but could have had more. Well done to both ladies in charge of running this establishment. You've restored my faith in English cooking.

Went in with my son, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren. Greeted and made to feel very welcome by Louise. My son had Pizza, my daughter and myself had baked potato and chilli and my grand daughter had Pasta with a Pomodoro sauce. All were excellent. The chilli was spicey, hot and meaty, the potato soft and fluffy inside and crisp on the outer. The ham and mushroom was simple but my son said it was as good as anything he has eaten in Italy. And Maisie my grand daughter had a great big bowl and ate it all.It was great. simple, good food at a good price. The owners, a mother and daughter team, were friendly and helpful, making a big fuss of the grand daughters. I understand they had just opened and were still feeling their way, if this the start then I predict great things for the future. The Eatery was bright and airy and very inviting. The cakes were all made by Louise and were scrumptious looking. Mainly English and Italian food, simple but tasty. I highly recommend it.
