Because I finish work early on Fridays, I felt a bit peckish, so I called in for a bite. I was shown to my seat and placed my order, which was ready in no time at all. The food was very enjoyable and prices are very reasonable, and the staff are always kind and helpful. As I have been here before, I would recommend this place, any time of the day, for something to eat or drink.

Great coffee and quick service. Most of the diners were in their seventies and fitted in with the dated decor. We had lunch there and the food was very ordinary and overcooked. Maybe that is what the clientele want though - overcooked, tasteless English fayre!

Really good portions, really good prices, really good tasting food and coffee, super attentive staff. Genuine little gem it's well worth visiting for a bit of lunch or a cuppa and a chat.

Having been in all the cafes in Uckfield I am 100% sure you will find the most friendly staff here. I see the older pensioners come in for their breakfast or just a cup of tea on their own and when served each time I’ve noticed the staff ask them how they are and what they had been doing. Fantastic community spirit.

Tucked away nice independent coffee shop I prefer to give my custom to them in these hard times, unfortunately we were not hungry but the food looked enticing too. Will return, as there were not that many on the High Street.

Excellent. Visit a different venue for breakfast every weekend, and wasn’t disappointed with this one. Prompt service, good food, reasonable price. If I could change one thing on my breakfast it would have been to improve the sausages, otherwise great. Once we’ve visited everywhere this is in the list to return to - far better (quality and value) than Hartfields!

This is a lovely place. It's friendly and the food is always fresh and with good ingredients. It suffers from being in the shadow, sometimes literally, of a very well known local cafe but it's well worth a visit.

I popped in for breakfast with a friend and absolutely adored it. The staff were amazingly attentive and so friendly, I felt like they were family. The food was great and served very efficiently. I will definitely recommend and will be back soon!!

Popped in here for a quick bite to eat before the cinema. Place was fairly crowded, which didn't bode well. I shouldn't have worried though as I was served by friendly and helpful staff. Varied menu at really affordable prices. Will definitely call in again. Good for snacks or full meals and conveniently located for local amenities.

Visited with a friend for delicious coffee and home made cakes. Two huge slices of cake and two large latte’s £10. Can’t go wrong. Quiet welcoming atmosphere. Lunch menu looked great and reasonable.

My partner and I visited here during our lunch breaks on a Friday afternoon. The waitress that greeted us gave us a choice of available tables. Although the cafe was busy the service was second to none. Despite my partner choosing a cooked meal the wait for our food was minimal and both agreed that the food was lovely. The waitress that served us and settled our bill was chatty and friendly and we both agreed that we will most definitely return.

Love this place, great service, great value and great food. Seafood salad with tuna, smoked salmon and prawns was delicious. Always a toss up between thos and the meatball wrap. Highly recommend

I visit here at least once a week and have done since I was pregnant with my little one . The staff could not be more welcoming and helpful . The food is always good and well priced . Mostly I continue to visit due to the friendliness towards myself and my daughter who is always made a fuss over . I personally find this one of the most baby friendly and accommodating places in uckfield .

I love this cafe its cheap and good food but unfortunately since having my baby my views have changed. 1 member of staff lets it all down by her rudeness....just the look on her face when you walk in with a pram says it all then tries to dictate where you can sit. I understand its a small cafe and we dont even attempt to go in there when its busy but i have always kept it local with businesses but unfortunately will have to start going somewhere else.

We wanted to sit indoors but due to it being so popular and therefore busy we were happy to sit with the children outside, the waitress insisted on taking our orders saving us having to come in to order. Half way through ‘ she managed to make room for us in the warm cafe so asked would we prefer after all to sit inside? We gladly accepted and entered a friendly warm and cozy cafe. We didn’t have to wait long before delicious food and drinks arrived. My baguette was soo fresh and full of King prawns ! The children loved their food snd we all left feeling very happy

First visit to this amazing find tucked away amongst Uckfields busy high street.Such friendly staff who couldn't have done anything more to make our lunch visit a success.The food was fresh and bountiful.The price was easy on the pocket.It is no surprise it was full to the rafters of hungry, happy people.Will be visiting again for sure.

Absolutely incredible visit great prices for the amount I rate the breakfast very high especially the sausages and hash browns. Drinks are incredible especially the milkshakes I recommend the strawberry one well done the courtyard

Called in for coffee and decided to stay for lunch and very glad we did. Excellent food, very friendly staff and fantastic value for money.

Visited for breakfast and it will never be repeated. All bacon, sausage and bread deep fried to an unacceptable standard, no taste other than burnt oil. Who can’t cook eggs for goodness sake.

We dropped in for a quick lunch, as it was raining. Shortly after we arrived, it seemed that everyone else in Uckfield thought the same, as this little place filled up very rapidly. But the very friendly staff coped well. We had a couple of "toasties": the ham and cheese was good but nothing special, but I had the bacon, chicken and avocado toastie with mayo, which was lovely and very tasty. The atmosphere here is always good, and the staff exceptionally helpful. It is good for just a "cuppa" or reasonable food if that's what you want.

We have started using Courtyard Cafe on a regular basis. Food is always excellent. Customer service is fantastic - very friendly and courteous. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Been here several times now. Sometimes for breakfast, sometimes light lunch, sometimes just for coffee. Always a very friendly welcome from staff and also very quick service of good quality, good value food. It does what it does very well. And the coffee is excellent.

Freshly prepared food nicely presented in this lovely English cafe. Had a proper omelette with some chips and fresh salad on the side. Greeted warmly by the owners and served by the friendly and helpful Olena

I love this cafe. We take the kids there for breakfast about twice a month. Everything's cooked fresh, the coffee is amazing, and the staff and friendly, helpful, always prompt. I'm unable to fault it; and best of all we can all eat a huge breakfast - we're a family of six - for about £30 including drinks.

We found ourselves in Uckfield early one Saturday and checked out Trip Advisor for a breakfast recommendation. Up came The Courtyard Coffee Shop. Initially we were confused by a larger establishment nearby but tucked in the small courtyard we found this gem. 100% better quality great personal service and much better value.

i come here really often and everyone is nice. i don't have to wait for very long for the drinks and food. they always check if we need anything else. all the waitresses are very friendly and kind. they always smile whilst giving the food. the tables are always clean and so are the toilets. the dishes are never dirty which means they are cleaned well. there are tables outside so we can sit there on a sunny day. this amazing restaurant is beautiful and i would definitely recommend it. also for extra the flowers outside are beautiful. they have food subtitle for vegetarians which is a good thing so it is suitable for everyone. PS you should definitely try the milkshakes they are the best!!

We found this by accident and are so glad that we did. The menu was such that we were spoilt for choice, and it was such good value for money. The food was delivered with a smile, piping hot, freshly cooked and delicious! Once they had checked that everything was okay, left to enjoy our meal in peace. Based on our visit, if we ever find ourselves in Uckfield again, I would make a point of going back. Thank you for a lovely meal, thoroughly enjoyed!

This cafe is along the high street but set back from the main road. There is also some outside tables/seating. Very pleasant when the weather is fine - that is if you don't mind the smokers. We visited at breakfast time and there were a range of cooked options, including vegetarian, at a very reasonable price (£5.50 to £7.50). The food was very well presented and the portions size more than ample. Service was good. Surroundings have a pleasant feel with enough indoor space not to feel cramped around the tables. There are toilet facilities for customer use. I would visit again if I happened to be in the area.

Always a happy place to go for coffee or dinner. The staff are fab and the food is good too. They don't have a alcohol licence but have large stock of soft drinks.

We decided to have breakfast in Uckfield and a friend had recommended the Courtyard Coffee Shop. They have lots of different choices of breakfast: I had a smaller breakfast and my husband had the big Full English. The staff exchanged beans for an extra slice of bacon, and toast for bread and butter for me without a quibble. Our tea and coffee came very quickly, and we did not have to wait very long for our breakfasts either. Both were very good, and not greasy as "fry-ups" can sometimes be. I think they have a regular clientele, as people were greeted on arrival and seemed to be known. We felt the staff were well trained, very friendly, and efficient and we enjoyed our breakfasts.

Had lunch here Tuesday , service was really good , very attentive helpful waitress , I had prawn mayo baguette, my fiancé had jacket potato with coronation chicken , both meals were really tasty and more than ample and a very good price , will certainly go there again ,, well done everybody at the courtyard ,,

I have had a few visits here now and every one has been perfect. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is freshly cooked and the cafe is clean, with tables cleared promptly (always a bonus in my book).

Voy a esta cafetería tan a menudo como puedo, especialmente en verano. La comida siempre es excelente y fresco. El servicio también es siempre con personal amable y feliz es un tesoro escondido que bien merece una visita :).

A nice little cafe tucked away with the courtyard facing the high street. The breakfast we had was cooked well, branded sauces and heinz beans, and good bread used for the toast, the coffee was a little strong for my taste but was made fresh.

I met a friend and her grand-daughter, she and the child had lunch, I just had a cup of tea. The salad looked very good and apparently the child's meal (nuggets and chips) was good: in any case, most of it went quite rapidly! Very helpful staff who did not leave us languishing outside as happens in some places: they kept an eye on us and were attentive but not pushy. A very friendly place for an informal meal.

Have not been in the courtyard for a few years, my wife visited a few weeks ago with our granddaughter, and suggested we have a late breakfast in there. On arrival Holly showed us to our table and took drinks orders, came back a couple of minutes later with coffee and took our orders.I went for a large breakfast with extra Black pudding, my wife had a smaller breakfast.Both were absolutely superb, fresh great quality ingredients the best black pudding I have ever tasted, just Diane.The service was excellent, just right , attentive but not intrusive, Holly was a perfect host We will definatly be back and recommending the Courtyard to family and friends.Thank for a great breakfast best I've had for many years .

Found this little place just off the high street in Uckfield and a gem of a place it was, good service, good breakfast and a fair price, will be visiting this establishment again.

Went here for a breakfast during the week, boy does this place fill up quickly. The breakfast is really nice but I do wish places would learn how to cook eggs there always seems to be the slimy covering over the yolks, not just at this place but at almost any cafe that we go to for a breakfast. now back to this cafe, the staff are very friendly and quick at their jobs. The coffee is lovely and comes with a biscuit, nice touch. Everything was clean, the toilet was tidy and had ample supplies. Will be going there again and also recommending it to others.

Pros- well organised and attentive service - tasty food- child friendly Cons - no card payment service - cramped when busy (but the service kept pace reardless)- high chair could have been smaller making it fit better against the table.
