Casa Nostra in Bolton

Excellent atmosphere and service. Unfortunately the food is nothing special. I had the chicken stroganoff. The sauce had not been freshly prepared it tasted very artificial. Won’t be going back.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary last night food,service and politeness of the staff was excellent would highly recommend. Alan and Colette

rang to see if we could have a table in the corner or one slightly out of the way and was laughed at over the phone and told “it is chaos” nevertheless when we arrived we had a table in the corner much to our delight, fantastic! What wasn’t fantastic was the manager i am guessing he was came over and asked for me by my name and then proceeded to belittle me in front of the rest of our party regarding me having asked for the table..He went out of his way to come over to ask me was the table ok for me or would i have preferred to sit outside?? I didn't think it would be a big issue to have a preference on where you would like to be seated!! Whilst eating our main course i asked for a ice cream for my son who had finished his meal and yet again the happy manager came over and spoke to me as if i was a inconvenience! Upon trying to pay for our bill as nobody had bothered to tend our table since the ice cream scenario, we decided to get up and pay at the till who we were then greeted by a girl with a serious attitude problem! The food is always amazing so this a real shame to be let down by front of house staff! We will not be returning.

This place is amazing! The food is the best Italian I have ever eaten and the staff are so lovely. Always been able to get a table, even when busy. They will accommodate you regardless.

Had one of our semi regular visits to this establishment and as ever the food and service was first class. No need to wait around or catch the eye of the staff to order …as it’s almost always very busy I don’t know how they do it. Best Italian restaurant for miles.

Went for the midweek special as a family of 6. We live nearby and always see that it is busy everyday so decided to give it a try, and we was so glad we went. The food was amazing, steaks cooked to perfection and to request. Pasta dishes spot on, starters all fantastic and deserts a great finishing touch. This is brilliant restaurant and we will definitely be calling again.

We had not been to Casa Nostra for years but after hearing some good reviews we decided to try for my wife’s 40th. It was a Tuesday night and the place was packed so straight away the atmosphere was great , we had a table of 10 and the service was great. We all had the 3 course midweek deal and couldn’t fault a thing it was really nice and we will definitely be back soon . Thank you.

Absolutely love casa nostra we are always geeted warmly and the food is always top drawer 👍👍👍 can’t recommend the cannelloni enough it is always amazing 👍 the house rose isn’t bad as well.

Originally booked a belated wedding meal for 25 people. At last minute ( day before) changed to 40. The lovely owner explained 30 people capacity room but they squeezed another 10 places in . On night an extra person turned up . They brought an extra tale in to accommodate. The waitresses were overwhelmed but managed brilliantly to cope . An extremely hot night Friday 9th June 2023 so they provided what I thought was an industrial fan. Myself and my lovely new bride Janice tried to arrange food orders beforehand to make it easier for chefs and so people wouldn’t be waiting too long for food but that idea went south as many did not respond . 41 people ordering different dishes drinks and disappearing for periods in a loud environment was bound to cause some confusion. The staff and manager handled the situation magnificently. The food was fantastic and I received a lot of compliments to support my view . I absolutely love the garlic bread with tomato. The tiramisu desert is always my choice of dessert, drinks reasonably priced . Atmosphere was electric. We had a lovely wedding and the night at the Casa Nostra topped our wedding off . Thank you so much Casa Nostra . Your staff and management are superb . Will definitely see you again .

We haven't been to Casa Nostra in years, it used to be a favourite but after having a really bad meal here a number of years ago we decided to avoid the place for a while. Visited recently for a birthday meal. Garlic bread was lovely but that was about the only positive. The pizzas were disgusting, I don't believe that they use mozzarella, the cheese on all of our pizzas was very rich and creamy not like a normal mozzarella cheese.. House wine was also very poor. Service was OK from the two young servers but the guy who appeared to be in charge spent most of the night being rude to a number of people dining in the restaurant. Won't be returning anytime soon!

Had a meal at Casa Nostra last night which was the first night Bolton could re-open following the recent lockdown. Foot and service was fantastic as always and tables had all been moved so there was plenty of space between them. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon!

I actually used to work here about 12 years ago, but haven’t visited since as I don’t live close by anymore. Me and my fiancé visited tonight to celebrate him getting a new job. We booked last minute and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was excellent, I had the seafood risotto and my parter had the chilli cooked steak - I can honestly say that these were some of the best meals we have ever tasted, and having been to Italy more than once we can certainly say that the food is on par with the kind of stuff they serve there. The staff were all very kind and attentive, especially the young Italian guy who offered us our desert to take home. It’s rare to visit somewhere these days where every singe member of the team is so upbeat and looks genuinely happy to be working there. I know with the current 50% off scheme most meals are now quite cheap but tonight if felt like a complete steal at less than £50 for two starters, two mains (including steak), a garlic bread to share, two takeaway deserts, a bottle of Peroni, two pink gins with lemonade and a coke. Even chain restaurants would struggle to beat that price! We worked out roughly how much the meal would have been without the discount and we still feel that it would have been excellent value for money - we just genuinely can’t believe the quality and quantity of food for the low price. Although we have many nice Italian restaurants in our area we decided to try something new tonight, but we will definitely be visiting again in the near future - it’s certainly worth the travel as far as we’re concerned. I’d recommend this place to anyone!

Smiley helpful staff made us feel more like friends than patrons, and we had never been before , up to scratch with the new COVID codes of conduct with staff in masks and hand sanitiser at the door, tables spaced just enough still to get the typical Italian family atmosphere but also enough to feel Safe - making the whole experience a relaxed affair, the food was amazing !! I had a black pudding starter with bacon and peppercorn sauce delicious with enough to share for smaller Appetites , and linguini di mare for mains - a seafood pasta in a cherry tomato sauce which ( I’m Sure multiplied every time I put my fork down) but got better with every mouthful, profiteroles for dessert light pastry filled with lush cream covered in chocolate sauce was a lovely end to a lovely dinner, a great space to feel at ease in enjoying great company and great food,

Probably the best Italian Restaurant in the north west bar none! The best food, the best wine, fantastic staff and great social distancing and safe atmosphere.We have eaten here for years bit over the lock down the guys have not only extended the restaurant and refinished it but they have updated the menu and made your visit here something you just want to come back to experience time after time!

Visited early evening for a birthday meal out , from the start service was poor . Waited ages before we were asked if we would like drinks . Drinks dumped on the table our food order not taken , finally when we ordered another long wait till our starters arrived no garlic bread had to ask for this and then had finished our starters before it came . Main meals arrived quickly and were very good, no one asked us if we wanted more drinks (had to ask ) or desserts until we asked for the bill . We didn’t bother paid and left . Restaurant was to busy to cope with the customers they had so people left waiting and not getting the service you would expect . Disappointed will not be visiting again.

We visited Casa Nostra, a few days after it reopened following lock down. The restaurant has been redecorated throughout and is bright and airy. Tables were well spaced out.We both had the chicken liver pate for starters and we both enjoyed it very much. I had the penne di manzo for main course and it was very tasty. To finish, I had the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream which went down well, as always. Both the house red and white wines are recommended.The only criticism I have, is that the music is too loud and people were shouting, in order to be heard by their fellow diners. At times, I struggled to hear what my dining companion and staff were saying.We had a very enjoyable meal and will be back at Casa Nostra in the near future.

We went here with another couple as we have always liked the food here. Again the food was faultless but they have packed in so many tables and it was full so far too noisy. I couldn’t wait to get out and I won’t be going back in a hurry I’m afraid

After several beers in the town we called in here for a pre booked meal. Treated myself to a fillet steak and it was superb, pink in the middle and cooked exactly to my liking. Service was quick and efficient and all of us thought the food was superb. Top work will be back.

This restaurant in Westhoughton is well worth a visit... we went with friends on New Year's Eve and enjoyed a wonderful time... The food and atmosphere were amazing and as New Year approached several guests were up dancing...I enjoyed the Pate Della Anatra (Duck Pate with chutney & crusty bread) followed by the Medallions (Steak Medallions) on the New Year Eve menu... all the food was delicious and our friends said the same...The restaurant was packed which made it feel a bit over crowded at times, but as the night progressed this seemed to add to the vibrant atmosphere that all enjoyed...This is a superb restaurant with great food and lovely atmosphere... Staff are welcoming, attentive, and polite... we enjoyed seeing the NewYear in here and recommend this restaurant to all...

Unfortunately having people waiting for tables looking over your shoulder whilst trying to eat is not conducive to a pleasurable dining experience. Not the other customers fault (one couple did apologise) - maybe a booking error?Food was okay, but nothing special. The cramped table spacing and noise made the experience memorable for the wrong reasons.

We have frequented this restaurant on many occasions and the food along with the service is always excellent. However, on this occasion I cannot give it my customary 5/5 as my meal wasn't adequate enough to have filled up a small child. There was no reason for this as the other pasta dishes ordered in my party came up twice as big as mine. Everyone was happy with their food as usual but mine was gone within a dozen mouthfuls. I had the Penne di Manza which is fillet steak strips in pasta and although I wouldn't expect more steak for the price, I do not see why there wasn't more pasta which costs next to nothing to make.

My partner and I came to the Casa Nostra on a whim, on a busy teatime just before Christmas, without having reserved. The place was full of families, works dos, as befits the time of year. Yet nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who gave us a great welcome and did their best to get us a table within a reasonable timeframe.

An excellent venue. Seated upstairs (which proved ideal) Arrived for the first sitting 12.30.The food was a delight and impeccably served. All staff gave the feeling the feeling they were enjoying what they did. Thank you to Casa Nostra. A fuller report will follow soonest.
