Lovely food and great service by Maureen. Throughly enjoyed the meal, with very friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

We had amazing evening with delicious spanish tapas meal and wine. Restaurant has very impressing atmosphere and overlooking port. Waiters were very kind and friendly and look after you all the time. If you looking for nice place to go in Penarth go and experience yourself. You will not regret it.

Food was amazing and the service was even better! Moses couldn't have been more attentive or friendly. Everything was great but would especially recommend the steak and calamari. Will definitely be coming back.

Such a wonderful experience for my sisters birthday. We came with family and were treated so well! Went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special - everything was personalised for us. The food was delicious, excellent paella and the house wine ✨chefs kiss✨ 100% would recommend 😛

Was looking for a place to drink and eat near the Pier having travelled to Penarth on the train. Spotted this place with lovely views looking out onto the sea and headed in early afternoon on a Friday. The two staff we met were polite, courteous and made myself and wife very welcome. We ordered a bottle of Red, some bread and olive oil and dip with meatballs tapas and prawns tapas. I can genuinely say the meatballs and the sauce was amazing and the wife loved the Prawns. An ideal place to watch the world go by and we look forward to returning in the future.

I ordered seafood paella, chicken wing and a cup of their homemade white wine, they are the best that I had in the UK for these half and 4 years! I had a great dinner there. People there are so welcoming. When I arrived, it was dark, cold and raining, my phone was dead, I must charge my phone for the accommodation booking information, the 'singing waiter' helped me charge the phone and showed me how to access the hotel, which is just above their restaurant. I felt so warm in a cold winter night.

I stopped in the restaurant at lunch time to pick up some gluten free dishes for my mum, as there were very few options at the adjacent restaurants. I ordered the garlic shrimps and mushrooms for her, and they were delicious! The portions were generous so there was enough left over after my mum ate for me to try. I forget the name of the server but he was so very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant was so charming! I wish we had more time that day as we would have loved to have lunch or dinner there. (We were in town with family for just a few hours). Anyway, I can't recommend this gorgeous restaurant enough: very friendly staff, great location to view the ocean and the food was excellent. Thank you for a great experience, we can't wait to come back!

Our food was excellent, really good. Service was great. I'd asked for a window table and that's what I got. The staff chatted to my Spanish husband and the waiter sang for us... Totally unexpected! We have eaten here few ti es and standard has been good, we have also had drinks outside with a side tapas, and again been good. We love it.

Staff were so kind and attentive. Food was lovely and tasty, we would recommend the beef with chorizo. Much cheaper than anticipated which is always a nice surprise. We left happy and stuffed!

Fabulous service. Such delightful staff and wonderful sea view. They do an amazing fillet or sirloin steak served on a hot plate so you can cook to your liking. Doesn’t show on web-site so highlighting here as is a great alternative to tapas if you fancy a steak and chips. Moses is absolutely lovely, so attentive , professional, personable and kind. A fabulous advocate for this restaurant.

Stopped in today and haven't stopped talking about it since! I didn't get the name of the older gentleman but his service was impeccable! Taking time to really make conversation & explain details about the venue and menu. His service was very personable, attentive and it was clear this was how he treated all. Food was delicious, more than adequate, better than many British places we've eaten & the bill surprisingly lower than we anticipated. Looking forward to returning - love the ambiance & detail put into the place!

We turned up on the off chance, after 8.30 on Saturday evening. It was a miserable evening but luckily this meant we were seated immediately. Waitress very attentive food and drinks ordered and promptly brought to table. Food was delicious, meat paella, garlic mushrooms etc. all very tasty and well presented. Unfortunately though they then promptly forgot about us. It was a good while before the waitress took our plates away and then never came back. We had wanted desserts but as time had gone on, it must have been nigh on 45 minutes and it was now getting late, we thought just to have coffees and had to eventually look for the waitress and call her to ask. Only to be told a few moments later by one of the male staff that the kitchen had closed so coffee machine had been cleaned. I said not to worry, we had got there late after all, and asked if we could just have the bill. He said certainly but again he never came back. We never saw the waitress again and eventually had to go and ask the man (3 of them talking by the bar) who we’d seen earlier for the bill. The lack of attention prevents me giving a full marks review. Such a shame neglect of customers let the place down when they’d started so well.

I’m afraid the food here was not good. Pulled beef and chorizo was like school dinner slop. Mussels were over cooked, tough. Canary New potatoes were dry Chips were ok. Empty plates left for a very long time before taken away . Having just got back from Seville and Granada…..this was not tapas.

The food was bland, grey and over priced. It’s advertised as freshly made/cooked but I’d strongly argue this. I’ve had better frozen tapas for a super market. Very disappointing!

Well let me tell you now. This is not the place to come. I don't tend to leave a bad review unless it is absolutely terrible. We had just gone past and the place looks absolutely outstanding a couple friends outside eating about 5pm Wednesday other then that it was quite literally empty. We should have taken it in no one being there it must be awful. We went in the staff kind of standing around looking a little awkward. We sat at the back and the guy didn't really explain anything or even speak to us. (The place looked really nice and was clean) We ordered Meatballs 4/10 Garlic mushrooms 3/10 Chicken & Ham croquettes 2/10 (no ham) Taco thing 1/10 (not a taco) Chicken wings 1/10 ( fishy and real small) And finally the worst thing I've ever tasted in my whole life. (I've never spat food out until today) Pulled beef and chorizo -100/10 Oh my god was this bad. It was a beef stew that prisoner in San Quentin would turn his nose up. After this I immediately asked for the bill. The guy said ok after wait 10/15 minutes and watching the guy try and sort 1 other table out and not get us our bill I decided to get up and wait by the till. A lady came out as she pulled up the bill (£62.5) I told her I wasn't paying for the beef slop they gave us. She then tried to argue the case of "that's how it's made" That is not pulled beef and it's definitely not how it's made. She took this off the bill (£52) I left without giving a tip quite annoyed after being pulled in by how nice the place looked. We both left and said to each other imagine if Gordon Ramsey went there it would definitely be on kitchen nightmares. Don't waste a penny here there are much nicer places a raw fish out of the sea opposite would probably be better.

We booked a table for 7.30pm on a busy Saturday evening and we’re very pleased to be seated by an open window with splendid views across The Bristol Channel. Our drinks were served promptly but there was an understandable wait for my seafood paella. It was served piping hot in an individual skillet. It was a generous portion with plenty of shellfish and octopus. I would have preferred it to be more seasoned but a sea salt mill was drafted into actIon and the flavours permeated. The rice might have been cooked a few minutes longer to soften the grain. My wife’s Serrano ham with Manchego cheese, oils and breads came on a large platter and exceeded my wife’s appetite. Proprietary soft drinks were served by draft rather than bottle/tin. The Estella beer ordered was substituted by another Spanish beer on draft. The steam ship Waverley docked soon after 8.30pm bringing excitement to the high seas around Penarth Pier.

Apart from the location nothing was good. We had to wait for bread platter for 40 min and watched the rest of the food to get cold. Moreover stuff were absolutely careless with taking orders and kept messing it up, we ended up ordering 4 times for someone to finally hear us and no one even apologized for that. Salad was uneatable as it was old. Definitely would not recommend or come back myself.

What a great little place for food, we sat in the champagne bar which is next door, really friendly staff and great food. What a lovely place to shelter from the rain and sample the tapa's. Will certainly eat there again. They play reggae music which is to my taste together with a fab conversation with the bar guy, interesting and informative.

A posh eatery at the Penarth pier suitable for a date or occasional visits. Amazing decor giving the Spanish vibes. There is outdoor seating as well, facing the sea. Tried the seafood platter, chorizo riojana and beef in red wine raise, with martinis. Definitely loved all the non veg options we tried. The veg options didn’t meet the expectations, however. Tried cheese croquettes, Spanish olives and tortillas. Not a good place for vegetarians. Verdict: a fancy place with exotic dishes, instagrammable.. We visited this place on the NY day, and had to book the window seat in advance, as it’s usually a busy spot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ customer service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ non-veg options ⭐️⭐️ vegetarian options Verdict: good option on special occasions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ value for money

We had the most fantastic meal there Boxing Day, what a Little Gem - staff were brilliant, the food wonderful, the atmosphere perfect - we even took our two very well behaved dog's in who did not make a sound. Would definitely recommend this restaurant 100% - we want to come back again.

We had a fabulous birthday celebration here with nine of us enjoying a really great evening of excellent tapas and drinks. Moises and Joaquin looked after us brilliantly and could not have done more to make the evening perfect. Huge thanks to them both and we will definitely be back next time we are in Penarth.

The man who greeted us at the door was incredibly rude. When asked if they had a table available he held his hand up in front of my mother's face and just barked "wait" at us. We were then seated and the waitresses we dealt with were very helpful. After ordering however the man made another appearance and seemed incredibly upset we had ordered 2 similar platters. When putting one down he very rudely snapped at me "the other one is twice as big" - I can only assume he took personal offence to me ordering a large meal or assumed (incorrectly) i wouldn't eat it all. Very strange. Food was fair but based on the attitude and general demeaner of this man I would not recommend. Incredibly rude and condescending.

As partly spanish I'm a bit of an expert with spanish food. However, this is nothing at all like a taste of Spain. Garlic prawns may as well be called slime prawns with some bland tomato puree. The spanish tortilla is flavourless and was like eating a slice of cake that has been left on the side for 5 days. Service was terrible. Waited 10 minutes for menus. A further 15 minuted for drinks. They forgot to bring out our breads and olives too. A bit confrontational when we complained about the appalling food too. I wouldn't waste money here again Bar 44 is much better.

The house is no more what is was... greasy chips, half cooked... expensive beers, more than twice the price on Penarth high street. The perfect location (in spite of steady car fumes) does not justify such prices, quality...

A tapas lunch is never going to be cheap and at £38 for two it was more than we intended to spend on lunch. But we left happy and smiling. The dishes were wonderful, especially the shredded beef. The service was prompt and friendly. The two beers at £11 were expensive, but typical in price with other beers and restaurants in the area Definitely recommended.

Really bad management I’m not one to leave reviews let alone bad ones but we waited out side for half an hour to which my boyfriend went into ask was told it’s table service and then after waiting some more we were told we weren’t allowed to eat outside but there was people eating outside ? After nearly an hour we finally got served to which we just felt ignored and the manager took a disliking to my boyfriend and was rather rude I wouldn’t recommend unless you want to wait a long time to be served!

Extremely disappointing! Heads up for anyone looking to order gluten free food. When I went to this restaurant I asked the waiter what the gluten free options were, as I am a coeliac. I was told there was lots and the waiter went through them with me, so we bought drinks whilst deciding our order. After receiving the drinks we were told the chef can’t do any gluten free food as the counter they usually use was dirty from non gluten free dishes. The options were mainly fish and meat which would have been gluten free anyway if the contaminated surface was simply whipped down. I was told there was no options at all for me, and they couldn’t serve me any food. Extremely disappointing as a restaurant should be able to cater to dietary requirements, and seemed as though the excuse was because they simply couldn’t be bothered!

Rather posh for me.. But if fancy a treat on the seafront then this is a lovely place to go. Can sit outside or inside has great decor Spanish feel. It is rather expensive but then if having a variety of tapas and fresh food then you can expect that. Staff all very friendly and attentive.

My friend and I went there for dinner. Everything about this place was amazing. The highlight of the food was mussels with white wine. They were perfectly cooked with the white sauce. The staff were really friendly, as the manager got to know that it was my friend’s birthday, he got us a small brownie and wished my friend. Overall it was an amazing experience with delicious food. Of course, the views are fabulous on a sunny day. Would definitely recommend this place for great food and time.

Couldn't get more plastic if they tried!

Second visit here with my partner for my birthday, I was a bit worried as the first visit we had been left waiting for 40mins to be asked even for a drink. Service very different this time, we were asked as soon as we sat down, window seat which was lovely. The food is so tasty, a few items a tad over-priced though. Food came out quickly, but as there was nothing to keep it warm, it also goes cold quickly! Such a shame, as such I felt we couldn’t take our time. I was also surprised at people coming in in joggers & jeans, to a nice restaurant? Maybe it gives off that vibe with the fake trees & music. It could be more high end. Shame too I was denied my night cap of a floater / liqueur coffee … as they had no cream apparently?! I wasn’t offered a free coffee but rather my partner paid £4+ for a normal coffee that I didn’t really want. Having said that, we’d both go again but I just won’t dress up as much !

Tapas was delicious - the tastiest we've had outside Spain. We had the meat paella, garlic mushrooms, garlic prawns, chorizo, tortilla, delicious mixed artisan breads with amazing aioli dip and fantastic homemade chips. The location was perfect too. We'll be back.

Excellent food and service will be going back again

Visited over Easter, food was good but was expensive for what you get, service was good and the young member of staff was polite. We sat outside which was disappointing, the fumes from cars, noisy, run down furniture and fake 🌴 trees (no idea what they are even for) very over the top for a seafront eatery. It looks like the front needs a good café.
