I'm sorry to say, I didn't enjoy my visit. My toastie, whilst not cheap, was a sandwich with two slices of packet ham inside. Over the top, a light spread of cheese and toasted. Nothing at all on the bottom. No garnish and delivered, almost grudgingly, to my table when prepared. Yes, the ambience was quite good. Busy, with chatting around me, but service like the food was disappointing.... sadly.

Had one for the tasters tuna melt ever today it had peppers onions and looked like sweetcorn 😍 can’t wait to have a another one soon

As places to drink coffee go these are about as good as it gets. The cakes and sandwiches won't disappoint either. It's kind of pricey but we are all being broken on that wheel I guess

Regular coffee spot for me. Great tasting and well prepared coffee with choice of beans. Impressive range of indulgent sweet and savoury snacks. Comfortable atmosphere, even though it gets busy. Service remains speedy even when there's a queue.

Lovely place to have a small bite to eat and a drink. Great atmosphere, staff are nice. However the last few times I have been, I've not been able to get any hot food (toasted sandwiches etc.) Due to one reason or another which I was quite disappointed by. Overall a lovely place

Coffee here was much smaller for a medium cup compared with Costa coffee. But it was stronger, which was lovely

Had a mad experience here on 23/11 - one customer who clearly had some issues was intimidating my partner breastfeeding, making any customer who made a noise feel very uncomfortable and was kicking off about a parked wheelchair. The manager Georgie handled the situation really well to ensure the other customers were made to feel comfortable - it even resorted to the police being called to remove her from the premises. We will definitely be returning, staff are great and the chocolate orange brownie was delicious.

I seriously don't know why this company put themselves on to good to go as I have travelled there a few times now and been told it has been cancelled, I have never had this problem with Costa, not happy at all,they should not put it on there and let it be paid for only to cancel it, very poor.

We love this coffee shop! One of our top places to go! Staff have always been amazing and they certainly know their regular clients. I always hear them addressing clients by name and showing an interest in their lives. The place is clean and tidy, the coffee is good. I don't normally get cakes, butt he teacakes and the breakfasts are great! Popular cafe - we always see people we know there! Love it! Keep up the good work guys!

Food was lovely (bacon roll and a carrot cake) coffee was lovely (very smooth lots of flavor). Service was quick, atmosphere was busy but couldn't find a quite spot. Lucky it's not too noisy that it's overwhelming.

Excellent cakes and a reasonable cup of tea, Coffee#1 in Penarth is a reasonably comfortable and relaxing place to stop for a treat. Staff are friendly as well.

Free used coffee grounds for gardens, to take away. Good for soil and keeps cats away from messing in gardens.

I come here at least on a weekly basis. They are wheelchair accessible, dog friendly and the staff are epic. Not only that, it is a work friendly environment too. Setting up the lappy with a great latte or mocha, with amble charging points. Absolutely love it! Haven't tried the food as they don't seem to be gluten free yet...but the coffee is fab!

Lovely local café. Stretches deep into the building with more room and quite a few different seats. Coffee fits name #1 and sandwiches & cake are something to report home about. - On my way to 2nd visit.

A lovely little coffee shop. Food and coffee are both really nice. The only slight downside (which the staff have no control over) is young kids running up and down the shop which, given the narrow shape of the shop, is an accident waiting to happen.

Very nice, I love the Gingerbread Lattè, a treat for me. I enjoyed a Mozzarella, Tomatoe and Pesto toastie, and the doggies were allowed in too 🙂🐶🐕🐶🙂 The queue can sometimes be a long wait...

I enjoy my coffee and snack in the simple surroundings of the Coffee#1 in Penarth. The service is prompt and polite with payment easy through the chain's app. There are even books available to browse and games for children. The seating is varied with lounge and easy chairs as well as more upright chairs for any laptop work needed.

Chocolate cake x2 was nice although a little dry as they were the last 2 pieces. Lotus caramel cheesecake was yummy. Coffee was good too

Never actually written a bad review before, but Janine and Justina did not provide good customer service. Me and my partner picked up our drinks and sat down on a table (the only one available at the time) to do some work. About 45 minutes later Janine came to the table and said very abruptly, excuse me, you shouldn’t be sitting there, that’s the family table. At the time I said we didn’t know and there were no other seats available (the shop was busy at 2:30pm and at this time had become quiet). She said that just this once we could sit there. I was so confused at this point as I thought I had missed a sign and went to the counter to check whether I had missed something. Justina left behind the counter and asked me to show her the table. She just said, you’re not supposed to be sitting there and asked us to move to make room for other parties. I explained that Janine had made an exception today, and she said okay and left. I thought she could say, sorry about that I realise it’s not very clear to customers as there are no signs or information that this table is the family table but it is our company policy and if you wouldn’t mind moving if you see a bigger party that would be lovely. Or even, we will get that signposted for customers. It was a bit rubbish as I ended up being disturbed from my work and feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed as if I had done something wrong. In any case, we used our common sense and courtesy and asked any parties (no families actually even came that afternoon only parties of 2) if they wanted to sit in our seats.

Thought we would have tea and cake, £9.90 to eat cake from a paper bag with a wooden spoon and drink tea from a cardboard cup, seriously? To pre-empt the customer safety argument, sanitizer provided in a manual hand pump. Disappointed.
