What a fab meal. Pizza was great. Olives yum!! Nothing to say but thank you for a lovely meal :-)) Will be back to enjoy more of the menu !

I came in with family for a birthday celebration. We decided to sit outside in there outside seating area. We ordered starter first and I can say the mussels was delicious. For main I ordered the salmon and ricotta pizza. Which I must say was one of if not the best pizza Iv had in a long time.. There is nothing bad I can say. The young waitress was very polite and very attentive too. Was a great experience highly recommended.

What a fabulous place - staff were so friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious and incredibly good value for money . This is a restaurant we hope to return to many many times in the future . Thank you !

Lovely meals overall. However my starter of mussels in a tomato sauce arrived incomplete ( without croutons) . I requested croutons, bruscheco or bread to soak up the sauce. Chef admitted he had left of the croutons. The bill arrived with an extra £4:50 charged for the toasted bread. Disappointed after the starter had been served incomplete.

I’ve frequented this restaurant a number of times now. Wonderful service, a lovely friendly family authentic Italian restaurant. The best fillet steak I’ve ever had, even compared to one’s I’ve had in Italy and France. The sea food pasta is also delicious. Would highly recommend

Fantastic food and great service, BEST restaurant in Llantwit. We’ve been going here once a month for years and it has never been less than perfect.

I can honestly say that this is without doubt the most Disgusting restaurant that i have experienced from start to finish ..what a huge disappointment , they should only be ashamed at the quality of food and dreadful customer service that they provide.

Family night out in Llantwit! We were staying in Fontygary and used Trip to look up a local restaurant. We feel we found a hidden gem! We called ahead and spoke to the owner who booked us all in in such a friendly and welcoming way it made us look forwards to the evening even more. Although we are regularly staying locally we had not been here before but we are so pleased to have now found this restaurant. The food was prepared and brought to our table in a timely Manor. The presentation was good and the food hot and tasty . The Pizza was excellent, my lamb and sauce just right and the pasta just enough to satisfy. The service was good and the atmosphere just right. I would recommend this restaurant!

This is my second review for this fantastic place. I am writing another review simply because several years later it is still excellent. The service is personal- warm and welcoming- and quick. The food is always excellent. It is suitable to visit alone, with a friend or with a large party of friends and family.

Great little place to visit for tasty freshly prepared food. Fab pizza/pasta with a nice bottle of red - what's not to love! My husband enjoys it so much he has the same pasta each visit! Always great service and nothing is too much trouble....

Another fabulous meal and impromptu visit on a lovely sunny evening. Pizzas were perfect and a lovely bottle of chianti too. Sat outside as we had the pooches with us and they were watered too (and eyed up our pizzas). Great service too.

As fine dining Gentlemen we chose to send oe our team off at this wonderful setging in Llanwit Major. The food was unbelievable.... the Gnocchi was oit of this world. We as a group fully recoomend this fine dining experience Carlos, Viv and team. 5STAR.

Lovely meal after months of lockdown. Bread, oil and olives got us off to a tasty start. My gnocchi was superb, as was the calamari and salad. House wine highly recommended. Sitting outside was a bit nippy but blankets were provided. Excellent service too.

Been here a few times as we’re local and they never fail to live up to the high standards set on our first visit. Last night the food was top notch again. Real home cooked Italian food. Loved my pizza and was just the right side of spicy. My wife loved her Carbonara ( despite not being able to finish it.) Might be our last time for a while but will be getting takeaways I think. Service was top drawer as well and felt very safe with all the measures put in place for Covid compliance. Thank you again!

Went for a family evening and the food and wine were both outstanding. The staff made my 3 year old daughter's night with her 'special' ice cream. Will be making regular visits and cant recommend highly enough!

Lovely meal. My sea bream was absolutely delicious and my husband’s squid was good. His tiramisu was to die for. It would’ve been 5 stars, except for my lemon cheesecake which was very disappointing indeed and the service of our mains within 5 mins of getting our aperitifs. But definitely will go again.

I've been eating at Il vesuvio for over 10 years and every time it just seems to get better and better. The food, wine, atmosphere and staff are all absolutely fantastic. We celebrated a 30th birthday yesterday, only 4 of us and it was faultless, from the anti pasti to the highly recommended linguine Pescatore, all cooked freshly which you can taste. great job guys keep up the good work. grazie per una bella serata :)

I am a member of staff here and have worked here for 8 weeks. I am regretful to say that I was not paid the wages I was owed and wrongfully dismissed from my job due to made up circumstances with zero evidence.

Attended this restaurant on Friday with a friend for a relaxing meal. We were warmly greeted by a brilliant member of staff called Lee who took care of us through our sitting, assuring we had everything we needed. The food was amazing, freshly cooked pizzas and the lovely owner came out to chat with us. Extremely friendly will definitely go back again.

We celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary in the Ill Vesuvio restaurant recently and we enjoyed the best fillet steaks we have ever eaten.Everything about our visit was excellent Carlo and his staff welcomed us and we felt valued by them. We can highly recommend this popular resteraunt.

Went there for the first time, read the reviews on here first. I was not dissatisfied at all it was proper decent tasty food. Everything cooked to perfection. Attentive waiter. Clean establishment with good parking options. Will return.

Booked a table Wednesday 14th August and once again had a fabulous meal. The staff and chef are always very attentive, nothing is too much trouble would highly recommend.

We are here once again for a family get together and we all had a great evening. The staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic from starters through to the deserts. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Started off really well,fast service and a very polite and helpful waitress,however. After our meal we had our own cake with candles,when we asked the waitress for the cake she obliged and fetched it out on the counter. She went to light the candles and was immediately shouted at by the owner who told her they had no time for that and that they had food to get out. She did manage to light the candles for us against the wishes of the owner,on receiving the bill we found we’d been overcharged for three sauces and five pizza toppings. We then asked our waitress about her tips,to which she replied we don’t get them. The guy working behind the bar then gestured towards a pint glass and said they go in there. Not a chance mate,we managed to sort something out for our waitress ourselves,they need to take a leaf out of the waitresses book on customer relations and skills. By the way our combined bill came to over £200 ,left there never to return.

Visited with the family on Christmas Eve. I had the il Vesuvio pizza. I can honestly say it was the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. Added to that the friendly staff and feel of the restaurant- it was a top evening.

Been here twice now and it's a new favourite. You can tell if an Italian is cooking if you order lasgne and boy do they get it right! Would happily work my way through the menu here. Easy to find, easy parking, and good service. Tiramisu knocked my head off! Beautiful

Used TripAdvisor to select a decent steakhouse/Italian restaurants close to the railway station and the rugby club. Was not disappointed. Superb service, steaks and definitely set us up for the evening. Defo recommend.

I came here with some locals and it didn’t disappoint. The food was great and I had the steak which was perfectly cooked. A nice salad on the side of the steak wouldn’t have gone a mis though as the steak looked rather bare with the side of chips.

We had a really excellent meal here to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. We were on holiday in the area and I had booked the table a month in advance as a surprise. I was a little concerned when my wife told me she had become disillusioned with Italian restaurants, but I needn't have worried. The food was cooked to perfection and the pescatore was exactly as my wife requested. The chef came out to make sure we were happy with our food.

I love this restaurant and I don't know anyone who is not happy with eating. The staff are wonderful and the whole atmosphere is great. The food is just Italian and the wine is great. I highly highly recommend this restaurant and is a must to go to. Be early and book as it gets busy as it's the best restaurant in Llantwit Major. Big thumbs up.

The place seemed buzzing from the outside but we three were put in an empty room on our own for the duration of our visit. I know this was because the other room was full but it felt weird!

Popped into this family run restaurant on the off chance of a table. Even though they were very busy they squeezed up in. Lovely service and great food as before. They never fail to deliver.
