Cardamom Black in Harrogate

Great restaurant for a large group of us. We had orange of starters and a mixture of mains. All arrived to the table freshly cooked and nice and hot! We were served with a smile. Nothing was any trouble.

Verry good great service front desk was very nice. Top lads working there great experience and environment!!! Love the complimentary mints too cheers boss man!

We visited on 3 March, and, once again, enjoyed another excellent dining experience. First class service from Arif and Tanvir, helped make the evening even more enjoyable. Looking forward to going back soon.

Sorry but it was very disappointing. Been once before and not impressed but decided to try again. Service was very slow, pickle tray good , but then a one hour wait for mains. We all felt it had been waiting around for some time to be served as the naan breads were cold and the rest just passable. Not impressed by the pilau rice either, and having checked my particular order that it was mild… it was not. Then we were told there was no Kulfi either ! Will not be returning.

Had an exceptional meal and a fabulous customer experience here on Monday evening. The ambience was lovely, the decor was classy and the service - especially Tanvir, was brilliant. Friendly and helpful as well as attentive. Then the food……. Wow. I have eaten many, many Indian Subcontinent cuisine meals across the world and this was Top 10 - Easily. I had something described as “ferociously hot” and whilst it was between a Madras and a Vindaloo type heat, it was actually full of flavour and spice which was not overpowered by the heat. Exceptional. Every other one of our party enjoyed every aspect of their meals too. Highly recommended and we will be back again. Count on it.

Cardamom Black comfortably catered for 26 of us who enjoyed a set menu without any delay or confusion during service. The staff were very pleasant and the food was delicious.

Incredibly dissatisfied with my order from Cardamom Black this evening, I placed my order at 18:39pm and my order arrived with 2 items missing and the food cold due to the order been 20 minutes late. This is the second time I have ordered from Cardamom Black and the second time I have had items missing from my order, this is not the service you expect when spending £50.00 on a takeaway for two. I contacted the restaraunt and requested a new order so that we could eat everything togeather and enjoy a warm meal. The restaurant was argument rather than apologetic and helpful, but grudgingly agreed to send our order out again. An hour and a half later we are yet to recieve our order. I would recommend anybody thinking of ordering from this establishment to avoid at all costs.

Overpriced and woeful The food was terrible and the service was poor and rushed. My chicken curry tasted the same as the microwave one I bought from Asda 4 days ago. Except that was one didn’t cost £12.50. It was clearly made from a jar and the chicken was clearly pre frozen and pre cooked from some wholesaler. By far the worst quality curry I’ve ever had and it seems like a money grab from the owners. They claim to provide ‘authentic south Asian cuisine’ what an insult. In addition, the toilets were in unacceptable conditions and not up too the standards of most other restaurants. Never again and wouldn’t recommend.

Waited 30 minutes for a takeaway, it was stone cold and the poppadoms look like they had been in someone's pocket while I waited. Very disappointed as it is normally good

Dined in with friends and family on a busy Saturday night for a party of 12, absolutely loved the food and service, the menu options we had was for all as my partner is a vegan she had a whole side to choose from starters and mains, not many places in Harrogate do vegan options, the flavours on each dish was so fresh and tasty, we all absolutely loved it from the minute we walked in to a warm welcome to when we left from the joyful waiters and waitresses. Thank you for a fantastic evening.

Terrible experience with my meal in this restaurant and I definitely won’t be eating here again. I’m vegetarian and ordered a paneer curry, when the server put the dish on the table they said paneer curry, it looked a bit different to my usual order so I checked and was reassured this was vegetarian and it was paneer curry. When I took a bite it turned out to be chicken and I was extremely upset. The waiter apologised and said he thought I ordered chicken (which didn’t make sense as he also told me this curry was vegetarian). The staff were apologetic and the manager did say sorry but they still tried to charge me for a naan bread I didn’t eat and charged my friends for their meals. Considering the huge mess up they shouldn’t have charged us at all! A free dessert didn’t make up for the mistake!

3rd time going to this Indian, never disappoints. Beautiful food, staff are amazing and so friendly. We will be returning for sure. We were served by Tanvir Chowdhury who was so helpful thank you for a lovely night.

Went for food which was very poor but the worst part of the experience was the treatment from the staff. The were rude and inconsiderate the whole time and it was a very unpleasant experience. Would not recommend.
