We stopped here (as we have done many times before, and was planning to again) whilst cycling the Camel trail today. Before getting our refreshments, I went to take my 8 year old to the toilet. I was told by the rather rude gentleman that menus were on the table. I explained that I was just taking my child to the toilet first and he became very agreesive saying that I must order something first. I explained that I would as soon as I had taken my child to the toilet but he continued to rant at me saying it wasn't a public convenice and I had to buy something first. I walked away from him and took her to the toilet. After I went to the little hut where I explained that we had been there before and was planning on coming again in the future so it was a shame he was so rude to me as I was now having second thoughts about returning at which point he told me he did not want my custom, so I left without buying anything (and won't be returning!). What kind of establishment insists you buy something before you can take a small child to the toilet?!

Went for a morning walk down the Camel Trail with my dad who lives in the area. I needed the restroom and came across this establishment after seeing numerous signs for it while walking. Walked into the area, through a cute little orchard, past a gift shop that was shuttered up, and through to the restrooms, which were fine. No obvious signs or indications that they were limited use, no one around to ask and they were unlocked. Leaving, I saw a women whom I said good morning to and whom asked that we not walk through the orchard to return to the trail, and then a male owner shouted me down and informed me that I would purchase a bottle of water because I used the toilets. The assumption being I wasn’t going to. The tone was rude and accusatory and the reasoning he gave me was people come off the trail and use the facilities blocking them from the use of paying customers… which is fair, but there was no one else there and we would have happily had a coffee and a treat, but nothing was open. It was not welcoming, and maybe he isn’t a Monday morning kinda guy, but if you don’t want foot traffic off the trail, don’t advertise on the trail.

My husband and I stop here once a year whilst on the camel trail, never had any complaints, food is of good quality and the service is good , even when they are very busy. We stopped yesterday and I had the ham ploughman’s and my husband got the crab sandwich- it was £15 but okay , but then when it arrived it wasn’t even two whole pieces of bread , it had been cut into triangles and he only got 3 - I’m sorry but £15 for not even 2 full pieces of bread is taking the mickey! We then had a cream tea , which despite 2 scones only comes for tea for one person- come on - who is eating 2 scones on their own? It should have been a pot of tea for 2 at that price , £9.50 , it is a lovely place to stop whilst riding but the prices and portions leave some what to be desired

Nasty owners, clearly doesn’t like dogs as he kicked one of ours which was just a puppy! Very nasty aggressive rude and arrogant man. If they don’t want dogs entering from the trail path they need to put a gate up not have open access. Even the best trained dogs will be tempted by the lure of freshly cooked food. Also be very careful on the paths which are ridiculously slippery and dangerous when wet. We were considering renting a cottage run by them but we will certainly not return here!

Two of us with a tiny dog stopped here on impulse whilst cycling past on the Camel Trail - and we’re SO glad we did. It was a hot weekday lunchtime, and the sign outside with the words ‘Cream Teas’ and ‘Garden’ called to us. We sat under the shade of a tree listening to birdsong to eat our delicious cream tea. Soft melt-in-the-mouth scones; tasty jam (homemade?); thick clotted cream - and enough tea in the pot for three cups each. All served promptly with a smile. The only thing we couldn’t agree on was whether the jam or the cream goes on the scone first.

We stepped off the Camel Trail and into this cafe, which is literally located on the trail. The setting is wooden seating in a garden, under apple trees. The food is ordered in the wooden hut and delivered from the bungalow on the same site. We ordered a cream tea to share and coffee. The cream tea was disappointing, when compared to the few we had already sampled at other locations. The scones we very average and we were disappointed. The passing trade, even in the rain, was steady and cakes and coffee were making their way to customers, so possibly the cakes are better quality.

Crab sandwich had a good flavour but the portion size was way too small, thin and small slices of bread and a teaspoon of crab for £14! I can only assume they had run out of crab but should have offered an alternative. The scones were so delicious and served with good quality jam and clotted cream and good value for money. My wife and I hired bikes in Wadebridge yesterday, and set off to Bodmin along the Camel trail. Just over half way there we came across this very nice tea garden, so we decided to stop and have lunch. I had soup of the day(leek and potato) which was really nice, which came with half a fresh baguette and butter. My wife had a tuna sandwich that was freshly made, with nice fresh bread, and a nice pot of tea. The setting is really nice on a sloped garden, with lots of tables, which are not crowded together. All in all a nice place and nice lunch.

I called by this well located tea room by chance..Staff super friendly which was good.I ordered a cream tea - what arrived was as follows :Dry scones The most awful cheap discount jam I have ever tasted.Clotted Cream - cannot go wrong there.Tea - quite fine.In summary it was terrible .. it doesn’t cost much to have fresh scones and decent jam. What made it worse was I tried to contact the owners via their website prior to taking to reviews - but I never received a reply so feel I must write here. What a shame..

Popped in while cycling, live in Bodmin.Poor service, coffee tasted like instant, gentleman at the "main desk" seemed not that happy that all we wanted was coffee and tea.Go the extra distance to Bodmin town, try No 4 or the Vegan Cafe.Sorry, but this place is really poor.

We cycled from Padstow to Bodmin but could not find anywhere we fancied to eat in Bodmin so came here on our way back to Padstow. Glad we did. Good crab salad and a cream tea. We shared both so it made for a perfect light lunch. Nice setting under the orchard and plenty of tables available. Good service.

Wow ! I couldn’t fault this place - a beautiful oasis . We stopped here on our way to Bodmin- we were cycling from Padstow . Yes a bit pricey but fabulous pretty garden with lots of shade. The food was fresh and well presented and the place seemed really well organised - service was prompt ! Loved it !!

We had cycled 5 miles before stopping here for cake and a drink. The carrot cake I had was amazing. I had hot chocolate too. Also lovely. My husband enjoyed his blackberry and apple cake too. I would stop here again if I return to Wadebridge.

The crab sandwich costs £12.75. For that, I would expect something memorable - and it was. It consisted of a meagre filling of crab meat and many bits of shell, very bog-standard white bread and a limp side salad. When asked for dressing, one of the staff replied “It’s nothing to do with me.”

We booked afternoon tea for family celebrations. Afternoon tea was presented beautifully and was delicious. Our waitress Pinka was friendly and looked after us. The special offer was a bonus too. Highly recommended!

Beautiful building. Amanda the barmaid/waitress was very helpful and friendly. My family had the ham egg and chips, which was outstanding. I had fish and chips, the fish was delicious and fresh. The puddings were sinful and beautifully made.

Went for a coffee and was told could only have take away as it was 15:40 on a Sunday, my wife and I are both disabled and I have an ostomy and asked to use the loo and was told I could only if I buy something, so it cost me 7 quid for two takeaway coffees just to use the loo....thanks national trust

We stopped for an ice cream while on the search for our car keys which we lost on the beach!! 🤦🏽♀️ The rum and raisin ice cream was AMAZING and no complaints from the kids and hubby with their choices! The lovely gent who served us got his wife Zara to help us with locating the keys which luckily where found and left at the RLNI across but was closed, she managed to find someone who got the keys So thank you so much for your help lovely people and for the ice creams! 🥰 wishing you all the best x
