I was served quickly, but that’s where the positives end. The staff seemed uninterested, and the drink was rather poor quality; quite flavourless, watery consistency and ridiculously hot. It burnt my mouth and took over 20 minutes before it was cool enough to drink. The cup also felt quite light, and when I opened it, it wasn’t fully filled. This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this at this branch. The quality of drink is far superior at every other Caffe Nero store I’ve visited, and this store feels like it doesn’t deliver the same standard of product. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Came with my son for tea and croissant. The pastry I was given was raw inside and tasted of uncooked batter, disgraceful. I took it back to the counter, a guy appeared aggressive (body language, tone of voice), when I gave him the plate with the undercooked croissant he threw it somewhere (I could hear clanking behind me). No apology, he did ask if „I wanted something else” but after that I would prefer to eat glass so I declined. What on earth happened to that place? I used to come here occasionally for last 15 years or so, I will not be coming back for sure. And if you have any self respect, avoid as well!!

From the tables to the seating, to the disgustingly filthy floor, this place needs a thorough clean. It really put me off looking at the ground in dirt at floor level. On the plus side, the counter staff were very pleasant.

We visited cafe Nero macclesfield today for an afternoon coffee.Never again I would give zero stars if I could .we usually choose independent coffee shops but decided to go to cafe Nero for a change .Big mistake !! It was dirty the tables were stained and looked like they hadn't been wiped for a while.also quite a few tables had used cups and plates piled up which is totally unacceptable in the present covid climate. We were told they were doing take away only and were given coffee in paper cups when my husband asked for proper cups the girl said they were short staffed.!! It wasnt take away only because we sat inside and it was quite busy .The coffee tasted weak with very little taste .we often go to the cafe Nero in Alderly edge and it is different again.I hope you take our feedback seriously especially where the hygiene is concerned. People deserve better than this get your act together!!

The whole premises seem dirty, the row of smokers permanently in the seats by the windows makes you feel sick, from the vape fumes as you go on into the shop. As families, we do not feel like we are welcome here, we cannot sit outside on the seats under the cover because of the smell of cigarette and vape smoke. The windows, furniture and floor is permanently stained and covered with discarded ends which your staff do nothing to clean up. Today there were dishes piled high on every table at the entrance. Once we did get inside, the music was so loud that older customers in front of us could not be understood when they were trying to order. It would really help if your staff faced people when they spoke to them, not only is it considered rude in most cultures, but it aids hearing and prevents discrimination against those hard of hearing. While we queued , there were tables piled high with dirty dishes across half the shop. We counted 12 tables that were dirty and needed clearing, yet the dishwasher was too busy doing nothing. By the time I was served I had to ask if he would clear a table for us to sit at, as there were none left clean. This seemed to put him out and he moved cups off but refused to wipe them down, which I had to do myself. I returned my coffee half drunk as it tasted of chemicals and bitter, as if the coffee machine had not been cleaned properly. The staff member, (no name tag) wasn't interested and couldn't understand me when I tried to tell her it didn't taste right. In short, the coffee is poor, the premises dirty and the staff rude. Families wanting to sit outside are not made to feel unwelcome and forced out by the smokers that the staff allow to stay for much of the day. There are many other premises in Macclesfield that would appreciate the business.

I considered Caffè Neros in Macclesfiel, my local. Not anymore. The staff are rude and untrained when it comes to serving people with impaired hearing disability. I asked if they had a loop as most chain cafes should have. The staff member bluntly said no. Looking put out that I had asked. I said I will struggle ordering because I would normally lip read if it wasn't for masks. I was made to feel individualised and embarrassed and the customer's in the queue next to me looked sympathetic. The person then mentioned about writing my order down, once again still looking annoyed at me. I felt very low at this point, told him he was very rude and walked out of the branch. This had such an effect that I called their customer services not expecting an answer but somebody did and put in a complaint. They handled it well and said it would be reported to the area manager. But looking at some of these other reviews, I doubt it. Was offered free drinks promotional codes. But will be avoiding visiting that place again.

Called in early on Treacle Market day, front seats always busy but there was a table so I snaffled it. Fella at the counter on his phone, work related, I doubt it, no smile or a welcome. Ordered coffee and a pastry, pricey but the coffee is decent here. Asked for sugar and was directed to the table behind me, no white sugar he shouted. No brown sugar either I replied. He looked in the cupboard and upstairs, just sweetener he told me, been on order for a while or something. I use the sweetener and overdo it as I've never used the stuff. I'm thinking to myself, he could get a bag of sugar and some plastic spoons from somewhere surely? I won't be rushing back.

The problem with Caffè Neros is always the lack of staff and it did take quite a while for me to be served, despite being 3 in the queue. To be fair the lady did explain there was a machine down and also there was someone training, but he only appeared after 5 minutes. In saying that, the staff were friendly, explaining the issues and the coffees and cakes were very good. The Danish was freshly baked on the premises according to the label.

We headed to a vacant table for 2 but the table very close to it had a very large dog sitting next to what would have been my seat and the customers had another xog sitting on a seat, this is disgusting, encouraging dogs to sit on customers' seats. The coffee was good but that's about it! £5.75 for a small cappuccino, pricey for a chain cafe. Service was a bit slow, and the place needed a good clean. Not sure when the toilet was last cleaned, the cleaning schedule on door was out of date by a few weeks. It was also a long haul up to the toilets, up 2 flights of stairs, impossible for people with mobility problems. Won't be visiting again, it's back to Costa for me!

If there is no Pret (better selection of sandwiches/better coffee) we have always preferred Caffe Nero to Costa or Starbucks but their choice of vegan sandwiches etc was woeful. That has finally changed, and we were pleasantly surprised.A fair selection of plant-based milks too, but why should you have to pay extra for cruelty-free?!

Nero is my chain of choice and we therefore called in whilst visiting the Treacle Market. It was very busy and quite a few tables didn’t have chairs. However we managed to find somewhere to sit outside. Unfortunately, there was limited choice of muffins (at 12.00) which was disappointing but we opted for a Sicilian lemon plus a salted caramel cheesecake. Both were very good and complemented the coffees perfectly

On arrival my Wife waited in long queue to be served while I went to the toilet, the toilet was disgusting,I don't want to go into detail but the seat was not clean, there was also no liquid soap in the dispenser, there was also no hook on the back of the toilet to hang your coat so I put it on the stair bannister outside, as I came out a member of staff was coming in, I told him there was no soap in the dispenser, he said he had just come to check the toilets and I assume put things right, when I got back to the seating area I could only find one empty table which was filled with 2 trays of empty cups, my wife got served eventually and we managed to fit our tray on the table, We sat and drank the coffee wish I would have had the large as I did not think there was enough fluid, your company only as 2 different sizes as opposed to your rivals S M L, before I left I decided just out of interest to see if toilet had been sorted, guess what it had not, the guy had not even filled the soap dispenser up, I will not be visiting your outlet again in Macclesfield, there is a Costa just across the road, but not just that it will also put me off visiting your other outlets across the country. TERRIBLE

I've been going here once a week for breakfast for four months and have found it consistently delightful. Great view of the square from the front window - and there are plenty of seats in that area as well as outside. High ceiling, spacious, airy feel. Cool, eclectic choice of music at a pleasant, unintrusive volume. Coffee always excellent - personally I prefer it to the other main corporate competitors. Good choice of croissants, muffins etc (which are covered in cellophane) and (my favourite) porridge - which you can have with soya milk. The staff are exceptionally friendly, efficient and helpful.

Parked in what we thought was the free pub car park, received a parking fine for £100 one week later. We arrived when it was pitch black and due to COVID restrictions couldn't leave our table once we were seated. Hence, we didn't have a clue we had to pay to park. The staff didn't mention it to us at any point. Strange considering how many terrible reviews they're getting for the exact same reason? Why oh why.

Mid week the Harrow had plenty of space to accommodate an impromptu family gathering. I know that at weekends it’s really advised to reserve a table. We’ve been coming to this pub pretty much all our lives, but was impressed by the upgrades and expansion. The menu was interesting and didn’t disappoint. The service from Shane was awesome. They have some great offers and discounts online so that diners of all budgets can enjoy it. Definitely putting this back on my “visits Home” itinerary.
