Caffe Nero in Cheshire West and Chester

Way too slow. There were only 3 people in the queue but still took a whopping 15-minutes to get served. Asked for "extra hot latte" and it was luke warm. That's £4 I won't get back!!!

I love caffe nero but why no plant based sandwiches or wraps? I'm grateful there's a vegan croissant but if I want lunch there's never anything. I realise this isn't just Chester branch policy... I think.

Usually prefer this Nero in Chester. But I will not return, the female barista that served me with the bull ring nose piercing was rude. The hospitality business is not for this lady. The slowest service I have ever experienced. I will not be returning to this chain, Starbucks it is from now on.

Excellent, really helpful service from Seren and Caitlin in Caffè Nero, Eastgate Street, Chester. Such a helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant team, thank you Caffè Nero.

Unhelpful, unpleasant woman “manager” Seemed to be too busy entertaining her young man with free coffees than paying attention to customers.Dirty single toilet open. Very rundown furniture. Would make a difference if staff were welcoming and interested.

Really poor store serving illegal practices. Not only charging £1.30-40 is daylight robbery for a 10g chocolate, but then charging 5p more on the till and not changing the sign while not honouring the price displayed is contrary to consumer law. Poor woman with a kid fishing through her pocket trying to find another 5p while the Karen behind the till refused to honour it… it’s FIVE pennies - shows the true colours of cafe Nero

The coffee at Neros is always my 1st choice of the big 3. Cafe is well laid out and service was swift. Staff friendly. Will be back again when in Chester. In fact I think this is at least the 3rd time we have used this particular Nero in the last year or so

Shoddy and unpleasant Cafe Nero. Usually they are tidy and fairly decent. This one was dirty, cluttered and generally unpleasant. Half of the store was taped off as they don't want people to use it and toilet was filthy. Should be so much better.

Typical cafeteria, sugar and more sugar, they are not served on the tables, and there are always lines to order, it is good to quench your thirst or have coffee, decorated and at a movie price. The place with typical decoration.

Popped in for a coffee on an early evening walk around Chester last night as coffee shop open until 7pm . Service absolutely awful two girls chatting away ignoring the customer who employs these people?! Would I return to this shop never ! Whoever is the area manager for this unit I would take a look at these girls especially the older one will lose you business .

Had to go here because the roof had fallen down in Costa but actually it was pretty good. The food was better.

Dirty cafe, lukewarm tasteless hot chocolate. Male bathroom out of order and the female bathroom was unclean and unsanitary. Avoid.

Decent coffee, with a fantastic selection of very good-looking cakes, though I didn't indulge on this occasion. Nice coffee in a great city

Called in as we needed a toilet stop & thought we'd use it as an excuse to get a coffee as well (Mocha & Latte). Found the drinks a little lacking in flavour which to be fair can happen anywhere. Our local Nero is overall really good but even there you can get a weak drink with no flavour from time to time. Couldn't stop off at the toilet either as we found it was blocked off with chairs & a cleaning sign. All I can say is those toilets must've ended up being cleaner than a hospital because after about 15 minutes or so there was still no sign of any cleaner coming out of there. Unless of course no cleaner was in there. So we left with bladders more full than when we went in. Seats were comfortable though.

The staff at this cafe need proper training as they are simply not able to do a proper job, not able to do proper hot drinks and also a good manners course is needed for them. Tables are dirty and they never come to clean/clear them. Pity as the location is nice.

Usually Caffe Nero's are excellent, this was the exception to that rule. The staff, and I mean all the staff I interacted with and saw were distracted from any degree of attentive service, due to ongoing chat and playing with each other. The effect was tardy and inattentive service. For some unrequested reason our panettone was toasted, an unwanted first for me. The coffee we ordered although requested large was served in a cup. Unless you don't care what you get, I would avoid this branch.

When ordering my 2 hot chocolates and 2 cakes only 2 of the 6 people behind the counter were serving, once drinks were obtained we sat down to find they were almost cold, definitely not hot chocolate. When we complained we requested tea instead as time was short, we were offered no refund or apology. We appreciate they were busy but at the price (£16) the drinks should be at least hot.

This is my favourite of the three main coffee chains. Good, strong coffee ☕ and lots of cakes to choose from

My first visit here, and I loved the latte I ordered. So tasty. Lots of people in here too.

I like Cafe Nero and love the currently closed one nearby and their staff. However, the lady who wears the barista of the year runner up t-shirt in this particular chain is quite rude. Clearly barista of the year is solely based on the coffee and not customer service… Because she has none.

Tables needed a clean, overall look of a very dingy, dirty run down cafe. Friend had piece of cake which was so small you could hardly pick it up. I had cold drink, no glass offered at counter so drank it out of bottle. No atmosphere and not much customer service. Prices nice and high though.

Very friendly staff made me a great vanilla latte. Shop is white cane accessible. Would recommend.

Whilst I have been a regular customer of this branch for many years, I have to say the experience I've just had was dreadful! Having ordered a large, extra- hot latte in a take- away cup, the foreign Trainee Barister, who served me, took ages to make it and finally handed me the drink with the cap hanging off, which could have resulted in me getting seriously burnt. His manner throughout was miserable, with no 'please,' 'thank you,' or even an apology. This person should certainly not be in the employ of Caffe Nero in my opinion as he clearly has no interest in the job, or any perception of what good service should be.

Terribly slow service. Waited for ten mins to get served. Server was too busy on her phone and talking to a colleague about going out with Charlie. No apologies for the delay or wait. Avoid. Server was talking about how much she drank last night. Toilets a disgrace.

Somewhere Sunny to sit early in the morning with a great fresh coffee

I visited the Eastgate Caffè nero to be faced with what only can be described as horrific, the service was slow because only one person was serving whilst the other person was standing around chatting to the person serving, the smell of stale urine lingering around the cafe smelt like someone had urinated in every corner, the person chatting was banging and clattering behind the counter this was not a nice and enjoyable visit, £3.25 for the coffee and a free headache. Oh and also toilets were flooded or locked. Great hey.

What is there to say? Simply the best coffee on the high street! Costa? Starbucks? Just no. Seriously, no!

Review 1 : Warm and cozy atmosphere with great service and would definitely visit again. Review 2: On my second visit I wanted to mention that coffee was great, service was excellent but Internet service not so much. Struggled to pay via app due to bad Internet connection. So hopefully the company are able to sort that and make the transaction in the future much easier.

This Caffè Nero is mostly excellent. The staff are all wonderful, helpful, and polite. The coffee and food are excellent as is the atmosphere. The only thing letting this Café down Is the terrible internet/wifi. Paying for drinks/food by card/contactless is a nightmare. You need multiple attempts for the transaction to work. The general Internet is non-existent and you can't get online anywhere in the building. This is affecting the staffs ability to do their jobs properly and affects the customer experience. If anyone from Caffè Nero's head office or I.T.dept. see this review, then I strongly urge you to install a mesh wifi system throughout the building and fix the Internet as you're losing business. Other than this, it's a wonderful Café.

If i could give it a no stars i would, disgusting how they treat the staff, no air conditioning for the girls that work behind the bar! I am a regular and it’s honestly this is torture! Disgusted!

I've been putting this review off because I couldn't find the words to describe the service in which I received. I am a man of the globe to which loves a good cup of joe and I will say the service from Amelia. From the moment I walked in, she welcomed me with a warm embrace of honesty and companionship. Thought this would be a pleasant meeting spot. Embarrassing how unhygienic this place is. Toilets stink. A visible layer of dust that’s accumulated over a long time. I won’t be going back - first impressions count.

Visited at 9:10 on Sunday morning, the ladies toilet was in a shocking state, smelt awful, wet floor ( who knows what with) no toilet paper! Walked straight out. Seats next to the toilet were dirty. Seriously gone down since we were last there.

Nice pot of green tea. Tables were dirty. Shame.

Service was excellent and I had a muffin 🧁 which was delicious. Coffee was good too.

A scruffier place (centre of Chester, nr the Grosvenor) I have not encountered in a very long while. Absolutely filthy floor, has not been mopped in ages; old, uncomfortable seating, (complete with sticky remnants of cake, despite (2) staff members "clearing" a table near to the mess - 'it' remained, inviting the unaware to sit upon 'the mess'. Weak water hot chocolate, coupled with poor service: Go again? What do you think?!

On entering we thought nice place. Coffee good staff noisy but friendly. I used the toilets but they disgusting. Build up of dirt every where,floor skirtings and the bin covered in grime all round it. As I left the toilet you could see all up to front of cafe so the light was good. The floors were disgusting. Not just a days dirt but a lot of built up dirt ground into the floors which made the whole place feel dirty. Crumbs on floor and tables. Sorry won’t go again. It was quiet so staff could of bin cleaning up.

Incredibly rude staff. I stood waiting to be served at the counter and both Baristas completely ignored me. After a while, I gave up and walked out. It's easy to take your business elsewhere when there is so much competition. Went around the corner to Starbucks instead.

This nero is a little cramped but the staff are wonderful and coffee is what you'd expect from the franchise

Nice and cool in the hot weather and nice and warm in the winter weather, good seating and stuff on sale for food and drink options as well. Close to the rest of the shops and around the general town centre area for a quick stop off and more, always a good spot to come to each time now.

Stopped by whilst out shopping in Chester for a flat white, latte and 2 teacakes which didn't look like they had seen a toaster, won't be returning to this branch Cafe Nero is always normally good but this one was way off the mark, not to mention the state of the toilet no soap or towels in the gents, do yourself a favour and swerve this one and head around the corner to the other cafe Nero

Coffee served was good. Toilets disgusting, mens toilet wee all over seat, ladies toilet no soap and no toilet paper, not checked for four hours, staff were informed, but after thanking me, went and closed the toilets rather than cleaning them, no excuse as they had no customers to serve.

Great place to study or work, lovely staff. They have sections towards the back that are useful for groups too. Usually open late compared to other businesses on site which is a huge bonus.

Went in and got a flat white and a latte and were served by charlotte. We were very impressed by her professionalism and the fantastic quality of the drinks, we had to go in again for more! She is a standout employee who deserves a pay rise!!!!!
