I go here quite a few times a month, always order the same thing but depending on who is working depends on what you get, a full cup or half a cup, strong or weak, hot or tepid, its like coffee roulette. The coffee is stronger than other places so if you have a small size cup order a single shot.

In a small town with many coffee shops , Cafe Nero has many good points...it has a relaxing atmosphere, it allows well behaved dogs. Sadly not my little doggo ..too feisty! I love their coffee and sweet treats. But not all days are the same. I recently had a cup of foul tasting watery coffee grounds and another day a foccacio with horrid tasting meat. Staff are always friendly but leaving a new trainee barista on her own to make coffee at a busy timewhile the experienced barista collected used cups was unwise. A half cold, half luke warm savoury pastry was the final straw.

Went to sit down for coffee but couldn’t find a seat that was either clean or in need of restoration. The windows are filthy and the general internal space is in desperate need of refurbishment. With such a choice of coffee houses in Amersham I cannot understand how this one survives in its current state.

Referring to Chesham Nero, a bad experience today , poor service, badly cooked panini, chocolate on coffee when asked for no chocolate and soup with no bread which now my daughter will hardly eat. Again bread was requested on handing over to waitress. No fresh water available and generally uninterested staff.

The coffee is as good or as bad as the numerous other coffee shops in the town but the general condition of the interior is bad. Seats are dirty and in need of a makeover or replacement and the decoration is not good by the standards of today. The whole place looks tired. With all the choices around they need to up their game but maybe it’s an issue around the franchise owner rather than the company.

Firstly I have to admit that I am not a fan of coffee chain corporations. Having said that Nero is my choice of preference well above Costa and Starbucks, and Amersham does not disappoint. The staff are friendly and efficient, and most importantly they appear to be enjoying their job. I had a toastie cheese and tomato and an Americano coffee. I am not a great coffee drinker but this coffee is clearly superior to the bitter offerings in the other chains. The toastie was delicious but expensive at about a pound a bite. This branch always seems far busier than the other coffee shops in town, which is hardly surprising as it has a very relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for a coffee shop in Amersham-on-the-Hill your could do a lot worse than Cafe Nero. 4 not 5 stars because some of the seats are looking shabby and past their replace by date.

I have been going since they opened and during that time there have been people come and go but they are all very good at heir jobs. The people are all lovely. Coffee is a personal thing, and having spent 18 years of my working life travelling to and from Italy, I find Nero's coffee the closest to what I have become used to drinking. Having said that I it believe it does depend on the skills of the Barista and I must add that I generally only drink double macchiato (bit too strong for most Brits and not much milk). Staff here in Amersham always polite and helpful. My family have tried the cappuccinos and lattes - no complaints. If you get a loyalty card stamped each time then your 10th one is free - much better value than Costa. Good range of toasted sandwiches, panini and cakes.

There is something about Caffe Nero: I think it is partly the furnishings - well worn, but giving you the option of sitting up straight or slumping in comfort! I generally go to Nero in Wycombe for a coffee but decided to give Nero in Amersham a try. I had an app for a free coffee and asked for a soya latte, I was told there would be a charge of 30p for the soya milk. I told the assistant there is no extra charge at any other Nero coffee shop, she said the app only allows for an ordinary coffee. I don't think I would go back it appears they work to their own agenda.

I am an Espresso drinker. The actual taste of the coffee is important to me and Caffe Nero is the most reliable chain to provide quality espresso. Having moved to Amersham 6 months ago, I was on the look out for a regular morning coffee haunt. I H+H and found their coffee lukewarm and bitter. Also their Espresso is so short it's more of a Ristretto. At Nero's I was won over by Manager Mohammed and his attentive staff. The level of service is so high I don't even have to ask for my order.... it's on a tray as I walk through the door!

We were invited by a friend of ours to meet at a Cafe Nero for a morning coffee and chat, now considering that we have never set foot in the premises before, me and my husband were a bit anxious, we arrived there before her and as soon as we got in, the male barista was very welcoming, excitingly freindly and we said that we are expecting to meet someone else,he immediately took us to the sofa side, reaaranged the seating to accomodate 4 of us,told us to relax, suddenly our friend walked in and he seemed that he knows her from before, we sat down chatted for 5 min then as we got ready to go to the counter to order,he suggested that we remai seated and he will take our orders and bring it to the table, something he did, offered water, sugars etc.. took payment and brought change and wish us happy coffee morning then continued in his duties, now (me, my husband & the 3 person)being a first time visitors, we were astonishingly surprised but pleased about how nice were the satff, how tasty the coffee was, and how comfortable the surroundings are, it was certainly a positive experience that we would like to tell others about and will definetely revisit everytime and will be our future stop over.it is certainly comfortable, reasonably prices, with a faultless service and extremly clean unlike some of the other coffee shops around Amersham which are noisy, dirty, crammed with pushchairs and youngsters and we are glad that we have now discovered an alternative coffee shop thanks to our friends.

I cannot stand the way the staff at Nero call out for your hot drink and then go and continue to serve someone else. You either end up with a substandard drink that is not what you asked for, or is half cold because they were interrupted from making it by the previous or next order. Then, if you are ordering food, that gets put on last. And to top it off, soya is 30p more, making the same sized drink at Costa at least 50p less. Cold drinks are pre-made, ruling out skim or soy options. The staff are inconsistent and often not polite enough and the only positive is that the food is okay. Oh, and they sell the paper.
