The Werks Green Room cafe is in Middle Street, Brighton. The Werks is quite large and very ‘laid back’ and very clean. Nice background music plays and the menu is also very good. The menu consists of Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks. Teas and Coffees are available and the menu also has Vegan food.

Hoping to sign-up to use the space, downstairs is split between cafe (no laptops allowed) and laptop working area. Doors in laptop area propped open onto busy road - VERY noisy. As I was ordering my coffee (having already had pleasant chat with owner and bought breakfast earlier) I ventured (laptop ban in cafe area unknown to me) to sit in cafe area to drink it, and was quite rudely told not to sit in that area with my laptop. I couldnt understand the request, and was then rudely told 'I am speaking english' by the owner. He was then very spikey when I asked if he was the business owner (if he had been staff I would have complained to the Manager). Overall, really the worst experience I have had in the two years I have lived in lewes, where everyone is very polite and friendly. Very uncomfortable, so I returned the coffee and left. Only saving grace was the nice women at the counter. Perhaps he was having a bad day. Regardless, you are better off using a cafe for free than paying for a workspace downstairs, unless you are there all day and not eating, and dont mind the limited space and noise, and a potential telling-off!!

I visit Werks Cafe a lot. Great to be able to set up my laptop and work around other people doing exactly the same thing. Coffee and snacks, helpful staff.

Great space that has a really reasonable priced cafe, space for events and free coworking, dog friendly and a lovely cafe. Order great coffee and work all day free, the garden is a beautiful sun trap and you can work out there too.not really a kids cafe but great snacks for them if they do pop in.

We stumbled across Cafe Werks our first morning in Brighton. We almost walked past but decided to enter. The decor is mostly gray, but the manager/barista was very warm and helpful. A christmas party was happening and even though she was quite busy, she took the time to sit and chat while we drank our tea. A lovely place, thank you.

If you are looking to have a meeting or catch up on some work whilst in Brighton this place is great. It has a great interior and serves great locally blended coffees and single estate teas. When popped in they had just opened and were not serving food but had a good selection of snacks and crisps. The interior is very London with grey walls, wooden tables and Mies Van de Rohe chairs. It also has an amazing mural on one of the walls. I really does exude Urban cool. And the coffee 'and teas' are really good too!

Went into Small Batch, Hove Station at 4.20 pm yesterday. I ordered a coffee as a dine-in customer. Was told that I would have to use a take away cup as they would be closing soon. I left but not before telling the cashier that I would have drunk my coffee within 10 minutes. Small Batch website indicates that they close at 5.00 pm. BTW there were no other customers. Anyway, I went down the road and gave another coffee shop my business.

Unfortunately, even though there were many things right I'll be avoiding this place. The service was impeccable, good beer, perfect lighting and lovely music. So what was wrong? A coven of aggressive women believing they ran the place because they'd booked a table. At their request the music, that I'd been enjoying, was turned off so they could conduct their meeting whilst sipping peppermint tea. I'd suggest a pub isn't an ideal place for this sort of thing. Especially if you're hell-bent on spoiling the atmosphere for everyone else. Sadly, they're regulars.

Absolutely excellent. Had the calamari starter and the small plate of scallops which was exquisite. Glass of Whispering Angel rosé to accompany. Recommended.

Walking through Kemptown we stumbled across this place. Is very small but has a much needed and appreciated outside area. The barman was lovely & sitting there watching the world walk by in the sun enjoying cold alcoholic beverages was gorgeous.

Best hot donuts ever. This is my favourite place to have donuts in Brighton. I wanted to tag them on Facebook but couldn't..
