Cafe W, Waterstones Liverpool in Liverpool

First time visiting Waterstones in Liverpool. I had my 13yr old book mad daughter with me and she didn’t want to leave! It was amazing inside. Definitely one of the best Waterstones I’ve ever visited. Friendly staff and it was great to be made aware of the Waterstones app.

Great choice of books and shop had loads of different genres to choose from.

Cool place but couldn't find peanuts

We visited today with my daughter 💕 the lady on the childrens till. With a checked pinafore on. Was so lovely " Its nice to be kind " if the right lady sees this post she will know who she is 💖. Its so nice to have such a friendly lovely cashier 😀

The really cool book shop with cafe area and wc. You quickly spend a few hours in there just looking at the books, so it's great that there is an area with a cafe and toilet.

Finished my book during travelling around so need another one so I can ready on my way back to London. Nice location and good service. A treasure of books available for all kind of.

If you like reading. Here is the best place for it. In addition to being able to enjoy a beautiful coffee or even a small meal, you can always accompany it by reading an excellent book. If you have difficulty deciding something, you always have the support of the excellent staff. My favorite place.

Yes it's OK. I doubt anyone cares about reviews and they may very well be just a futile means of venting, but I do think one or two staff could benefit from being a little less 'clunky' and put more va voom into conversations they're having with customers who make queries. A bespectacled student girl was rather short with me when I asked an important question and did not care to embellish the conversation with any of the usual stock phrases we use on a daily basis to make the flow of conversation much er... Nicer. Such as 'thankyou', or 'OK, sorry about that.' it's the little things which make a huge difference. Also I would appreciate it if a certain cafe worker stopped pretending to be Basil Fawlty.

A book-lover's dream! You enter downstairs and see lots of books, and then upstairs there are even more, and then a cafe, too!

My Grandson loves that place. His birthday money goes on books , lots of books. I also like to visit because they make nice coffee .

Huge Waterstones, has a great selection of books and staff are friendly.

How times have changed! I went to Waterstones to buy a book on advanced spreadsheets and databases in the not so distant past they had a whole section of shelves of computer related books that would take you a good while to browse through on a recent visit there were only two shelves tucked away in a corner.

A great bookshop with a wide selection of books as you'd expect from Waterstones. It also has a great cafe serving really good coffee, sandwiches, cakes and snacks.

Good area and nicely spaced out. Has a cafe upstairs but never been so can't really rate that, but looks nice enough.

Very similar layout to Oxford store. (Dull Men's Club entry)

I went to this establishment very recently and I was majorly impressed,which is surprising considering the high hopes I had for this place,I came with my Mother and my Brother( who was there for the manga)and we all enjoyed it very much.The best feature is the variety of books for toddlers and for kids 9-12 and for young adults and for many other subjects such as:history,geography,sport,cookery,fashion,fiction and non-fiction,biographies,foreign travel,books that get you thinking,and popular books about our local area and about our football clubs and finally GCSE and A-level practice.I highly recommended you pay this a visit

Decent bookstore with large selection of books on 2 floors. Also has a cafe in the upper floor too. Just a shame that the horror book section is very small.

The best book collection and reading experience for free after the city libraries ofcourse.

Quite a small store compared to other cities like Manchester and Leeds. Other stores have a better choice. Especially of figures and manga.

With a fantastic collection of books and an inviting coffee area, Waterstones is one of the most welcoming and interesting shops in Liverpool One. Add to that, knowledgeable and friendly staff and you have the perfect shopping environment.

So nice place but prices is higher than other book shop, I do think you will find what you're looking for

unfortunately it didnt have the book we wanted but will call again.

It was so busy , couldn't really tell who worked there or who didn't. Would have loved to have sat with a coffee but no spare tables. Did struggle to find a book. The layout was a bit confusing,but I will visit again

If there's an argument about whether physically going to a Shop is better than just going on-line, then Waterstones has something to say. I went in after being given a list off my Wife and came out with stuff for me. Hey, can I give you a tip? I went in there and was utterly lost amongst the 100s of 1000s of books in there. Here's what you do. Get your phone out. Go to the website, find the book you're interested in and go to the checkout. Put the shop you're in, and it'll tell you what section that book is in and how many are left. Then you physically go to that section and remember it's alphabetical with the Authors name. Before I realised this I was looking in the wrong place and giving up because there's the chance it's just not there. The second reason why physically being in the store is better. The Staff. This was a rainy mid week day and the place was busy with avid readers. The Staff who helped me were going above and beyond what I thought they needed to do. Great store. Extremely well looked after. The Coffee shop is a great idea. You could lose a whole day in there easily. Well done. This is a great Shop.

The shop offers a very good order online and collect within two hours service. A very good selection of stock attractively arranged.

Really love this book shop. It isn't particularly accessible, what I mean is they keep putting book displays in the way of the walkway but if you ask someone they will usually get them out of the way for you. I really wish shop layout people had to navigate their own work in a wheelchair, scooter or even with a large buggy, to see just how difficult it can be to get around sometimes. There is a lift and a cafe also an accessible toilet as well as other bathrooms and baby change upstairs. The staff I have dealt with have been friendly and helpful. I love the selection of books and graphic novels and comics they have. I only knocked off a ⭐ for the access issue. Fix that and you can have all five!

Great food & lovely well mannered staff

Books are the best weapons in the world. The store is a fantastic arsenal. Arm yourself. It's a mausoleum of pulped trees which are printed with myriad fantastical, amazing stories and facts. It's neat. It's clean. It's accessible. It's Waterstones. Admittedly, the LGBT section is token. As is the horror. That's a niggle. But you can buy pretty much any book there, or at least order it if they don't have it.

Fantastic bookshop, lots of variety and you can spend plenty of time in there and obviously buy what you can, fabulous courteous staff.

Very helpful staff. Was in there Saturday afternoon and spent ages trying to find a book I wanted. Woman at counter was very helpful and friendly and looked it up and found my Gabor Mate book!

This is one of the largest bookstores in the region. You can easily find your items from children stories to adult learning materials in this two-storey shop. Everything is well organized and managed. The reading corner and the cafe are cosy. Most importantly, the staff are helpful.

Great to have a decent bookshop back in Blackburn.

Good variety. The only thing that stopped 5 star is that the top shelf in each row is a little high. It's a bit of a stretch. Otherwise, great, with helpful staff.

Live the shop and the cafe. Staff always cheerful and welcoming, especially in the cafe.

Any bookshop is to be treasured, but this one is great for sitting and reading, it is an airy place that's well maintained and easy to navigate thanks to good signage inside. A bonus is the good stationery section.
