The Metro Cafe Bar in Liverpool

Terrible service for my initial reception, order taken quickly, however cup of tea was served Luke warm, jacket potato was over cooked possibly yesterdays as inside was yellow and extremely tough to eat. Tuna was tasteless and watery and side salad was just a few bits of lettuce, tomato and cucumber. I would not recommend to anyone as overpriced for what I received.

My brother and I ate here recently the food was lovely,we had a breakfast each, a tea and a coffee and it came to £11,plenty on the plate,great value,nice staff.

Been here today, lovley reception great breakfast. Staff are polite and friendly. Deffo would recomend

No gloves or utensils used, mixing and preparing salad with fingers after handling money. Didnt wash or hand sanitise hands put me off eating my food.

Telephone order for takeaway not even started on arrival. Surly staff. Café was quiet too. Order was wrong. Declined two items from breakfast, no offers of replacement. Toast was sent out burnt. Sausage meat of very poor quality but the bacon was very thick and tasty. Sadly, there is no concept of customer service. Won't be returning.

Been here today stood for 10mins completely ignored by 2 staff. Evidently busy but a quick we will be with as soon as we can would have been appreciated. Plain rude. Had a catering order for 30 and whilst I was there I would have ordered breakfast too. Never mind someone else’s loss is another persons gain.

Coming to my favourite cafe to get my breakfast the service outstanding from the ladies in my Opinion the hunts cross metro cafe and from the cook to the ladies who served my meal is outstanding in every way 10/10

Had a few take aways from here but 1st time eating in !! The food is amazing pure value for money, staff are amazing and easy to get too!! Will recommend to everybody Xx

orded a breakfast not advised the main item was ot available just brought it without the item, upon HAVING to ask where it was i was greeted with oh havent got none, no apology or an offer of a replacement item, like i had the issue for wanting what i had paid for, will never return due to the miserable faced anser i got

This little cafe was warm and comfortable with a colossal range of lunch options from hot breakfast, filled potatoes, paninis, balms, baguettes, soup and more. The staff were quick, food was tasty and the value for money was unbelievable. I‘ve never written this in a review before, but I think you could put your prices up. 😊

This is my local, the staff are friendly, the meals a great and very reasonable , close to hunts cross station.

This little cafe is worth a visit. All the staff are friendly and kind. Everywhere is clean. They also have an extensive menu for such a small space.b

I went for the standard Metro Breakfast which arrived piping hot in short time. Overall the breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Service was good and cheerful. But, always a but, I have not been here for a while as the coffee was pretty poor. Unfortunately it has not improved so I may not return just yet. Please improve your coffee, I would like to be a regular visitor.

We visited the cafe as part of our Jolly boys Sunday adventures. As part of our day out, myself and my foster boy(Smiler McB.) stopped off here for a hot chocolate and a cup of tea whilst waiting for our next train. I have never been to eatery anywhere in the world that has made me feel so welcome. My little foster child has cerebral palsy, ASD and PDA. I ordered our drinks and then questioned the price, thinking that they had only changed me for one. £2.10 for a cuppa and a hot chocolate? I was happy already. I’m not just talking about a plain hot choc.... oh no!.. fully loaded with whipped cream, crumbled flake pieces and giant marshmallows. Then a cheeky couple of Quality Street chocolates on the side... one each. This alone made us happy but then the staff began to talk to us, asking about our day and making a loving fuss over my little boy. These people were genuine caring people. Staff and management interacted with us, between serving other customers. We left one hour later, knowing all the names. We will most definitely be back again. El desayuno de Metro es increíble! Huevo, tocino, salchicha, champiñones, morcilla, frijoles o tomate, dos rondas de pan tostado y un té o un café 2. 99 ¡GUAU! Excelentes precios, hay mucho para elegir del menú. Caf impecablemente limpio, el personal educado y parecen disfrutar de su trabajo. El personal también es conocedor de la higiene de todas las maneras manteniendo las mesas limpias. La comida es excelente, bien hecho para todo el personal.

The food is lovely, great place to visit for breakfast. Served fresh and reasonable prices! Always been able to get a seat, can be busy on a Friday morning by workmen.

Este café está siempre lleno especialmente con obreros, un signo seguro de que la comida está bien, ya que lo contrario no frecuentes.Tuve un bocadillo tostado salchichas y una gran taza de café por tan sólo £2. 20. La salchicha no eran de mala calidad y el café era bueno, así que, en general, no tengo ninguna queja.Me dí cuenta de gente comiendo el desayuno completo y había muy generosas porciones en los platos.Si yo estaba por aquí de nuevo y quería comer un bocado o simplemente una bebida entonces no dude en llamar. . . .

¿Cuánto cuesta una taza de té un café a hacer? Lo que costo es el servicio al cliente? Acabo de pasar una hora esperando para recoger una orden colección de Metro. La orden fue colocado por teléfono 45 minutos antes de eso también. Nos dijeron que estaban ocupados, así que en vez de los habituales 20 minutos de recogida nos dijeron que debería salir por 45 minutos que hicimos. Pensarías que sería por lo menos tomarse un cliente que las órdenes prácticamente cada viernes por teléfono serio pero aparentemente no. Una hora después de llegar a recoger el pedido y ser prácticamente ignorados. Sí estamos ocupados pero también sirven otros clientes que simplemente apareció y sentarse. Un hombre que también estaba esperando también había estado allí más de una hora. Otro tipo ordenados en 8:20 y solo 10 minutos antes de que finalmente sirvieron. La orden no era ni siquiera la derecha y tuvo que ser corregida. Disculpa cuando me dan la orden. . . . Noooo. no tonto que sería demasiado problema - como ofrecer una taza de té para hacerme feliz a pesar de que mantenían a la espera de una hora. Si tienes mucho que negocios que no daban abasto, conseguir más personal. No hace falta decir que no vamos allí, prefiero ir a un Mcdonald's y no perder una hora de mi vida.

Following my daughter's morning gymnastics, I promised Brunch!!! We had the breakfast, freshly cooked, and it was awesome!!! Great friendly service and a morning paper to read.......

Went on a Saturday mid morning it was reasonably busy with diners in and out. Ordered a breakfast torpedo to take away and I was given no indication of how long it might take. I waited patiently for 20 minutes before I had to ask how long it would be I was told it would be another 5 - 10 minutes. Half an hour wait for a fairly standard breakfast item is astonishing if I had been given some indication at the beginning on timescale it would have been helpful and I could have decided on whether I could wait or not. There was no apology for the delay and if I hadn't been hungry I would have just asked for a refund. The sandwich was ok but not worth the wait.

Like the breakfast in here. Staff are really friendly, chatty and polite. The only down side is, it can get really busy and limited seats. But food is lovely.

Very good reasonable priced cafe. The staff are pleasant and provide a good service. Prices are reasonable and cater for those on limited incomes.

Not a lot you can say about cafes unless they are terrible with a health risk which this is neither.

I have been going to the Metro cafe since it first opened around 2005. The staff are really friendly and the breakfast wether takeout or eat in are excellent. If your taking out you can telephone order if your in a hurry. Its a good place to people watch if you can get a space at the window

This little gem next to Hunts Cross station is the best cafe i have ever been in.The breakfast is amazing, super hot plates n great value food .£3 for a full breakfast, toast x2 and a drink .The same goes for the salads /jacket spuds or take away.All great.Plenty of choice for everyone.

I have only eaten here once but would go back. Sadly in this area there is not a lot of competition when it comes to the cafe/coffee shop market. And to be fair, this is one of the better ones. The food is good, the black pudding is very nice and the breakfasts are large for the price, the orange juice was small but included in the breakfast so for the price I guess it was satisfactory. No complaints there, although I am sure that some of the breakfast was frozen food as opposed to fresh. The dining area is rather cramped and if busy there is not much space. You can be sitting almost on top of a stranger. I guess this is a double edged sword as there is not a huge amount of room and when I have walked past it has been packed. I also waited a few minutes to get served and there were other staff who could have assisted me. It was not too much of an issue, just some constructive feedback. I did not have the coffee but spied a look at it. I could be wrong but it didn't look like the coffee was freshly prepared on premises but rather store bought. The machine that was there also supported my hypothesis, I didn't taste it though so I am only speculating. The cafe did lack atmosphere, there is not much in the way of decorations and packets of crisps did surround the kitchen doorway making it appear tacky. There were also areas front of house that while reasonably clean were cluttered. The menu board is congested and somewhat confusing. This is a nice little place that with a bit of sprucing up could be a five star establishment.

The prices here are very reasonable and the quality of the food is great. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. The cafe is quite small and it can get very busy quickly so go there early to ensure you get a table!
