Lovely food with fantastic portions. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff

The staff are so welcoming and friendly, the food tastes so good, the carvery is always well stocked with vegetables and potatoes, my only gripe would be you don't get alot of meat even when you pay extra for the large carvery.

Connor, Charlotte, Brooke and David were fantastic, over the moon with the food!

The service from Phil and his team was excellent. Both my friend and I are vegetarians. There was a decent choice but my friend is vegan and dosnt eat qourn she's not a fan of curry either. I wonder if you could offer a tomato pasta dish and maybe add bread option to the sides menu and offer jacket potatos on sundays also just a thought. But overall excellent.

I visited for lunch with a friend and was really happy with the food freshness, staff politeness and cleanliness of the pub. The steak salad was so nice. I will definitely be back. The toilets were clean and smelt hygienic. Well done to the management and staff.

We spend a lot of time at the Vikings, so this year we went as a family for Christmas dinner. It was an absolute brilliant day, very relaxed, Phil and the team were so attentive and the food was delicious. It was such a good day we are going to go again next year. Christmas Day at the Vikings Landing is always a fabulous experience. Phil and his staff always go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cannot do enough for you. Compliments to the chefs for their Christmas Menu food was excellent , as always. Atmosphere was great. Massive thank you to Phil and his team for another great Christmas.

Visited on Christmas Day 2024 and cannot fault our experience at all. The food was exceptional from the starter to the dessert. I would say that the pate was the nicest I have ever had and the Cavery main was so well cooked, meats all tasty and tender and the roasties and veg were perfect. The other two in our party enjoyed their choices as much as I did. As for the staff they could not have been more welcoming and even though they were working their socks off with the constant turnover of tables, nothing was too much trouble. Also considering how many people were there the place was spotless! Highly recommended!

Our experience at viking landing: Christmas day!! 25/12/24 we were warmly welcomed and shown to our table the first thing we noticed was the table cloth was paper and covered in grease stains (it hadn't been changed at all from the previous guests) my partner ordered two beers but only got one beer, I went to the barman to ask where the second beer was I was lied to that we ordered one beer which cost £11? I asked barman said YES. What I said!! my partner checked the price and went to the same barman himself who knew he had made a mistake and immediately gave him a second beer which cost £5.50.The Christmas roast was served buffet style the chefs were very stingy with the meat on my partner's plate you couldn't even see three pieces of meat. After meal he was still hungry. I ask waiter for toothpick and she brought me few in her hand no even box or napkins.Poor service not worth £75 pp on christmas day!! It was clear that they were going for quantity, not quality.There was no atmosphere, taste or aesthetics. Never again bad experience.

There was alive singer on, the music was too loud, I and my guest struggled to hear each other. The food was decent, served quickly and professionally.

The staff were great but the food wasn't particularly special I've been for a carvery before here and in the past the standards were much better but not a bad experience overall.

The staff are welcoming, friendly and the food is great. The atmosphere is calm. Its everything you could want in your local. We love coming and its our place of choice for a family meal.

I’ve been to two Christmas afternoon events with entertainment Motown afternoon 7th December, I was unaware there was a set menu, purely my error as I hadn’t read the email properly but the Carvery was not to my taste. The General Manager Phil was extremely accommodating, arranging for me to have Hake plus Potatoes & Vegetables from the Carvery. My party of 4 really enjoyed the afternoon, Food, Service and Entertainment was excellent. On 14th December I’d arranged for 6 people to attend the 60’s afternoon party, again food, service and entertainment were excellent but 2 people felt it lacked the atmosphere of a Christmas Party, they were uncomfortable that members of the general public were coming in and out to dine although they were guided to a different area. They had expected it to be be in a separate room and all revellers celebrating Christmas. I understand that due to Economic circumstances in the Lockdown followed by the cost of living crisis, the Hospitality sector has suffered more than most, personally, I understand the reason for maximising potential profit but although they enjoyed the afternoon, it was not what they expected.

Really good entertainment and food however not happy that we were seated in the bar area right by the open door. It was also too close to singer so couldnt talk amongst ourselves. We all enjoyed the dancing and singing once food was eaten

Can't fault the carvery or puddings. Friendly atmosphere and fabulous hardworking staff.

The Beef was very dry, however everything else was fine. Also, the mash potato was very creamy. 5 stars.

Excellent service it was very busy, however the staff never looked stressed. Food was fast fresh and piping hot. The staff were extremely attentive, considering how busy they were. They are obviously a great team, and we had a great time.

Everything went smoothly...easy booking system, we had a large group (20). All the pre-orders were correct and all food cooked well, hot and served in good time. Can't fault the service. Will be definitely book again.

Our Tai chi group visit here each year for the Christmas party afternoon. This year with the Motown singer who had a fab voice and encouraged our group to get up and dance, which we did with enthusiasm. .What an incredible time we had. Atmosphere, amazing staff, and incredible food. Congratulations to the chef/chefs. The carvery was excellent! I've never tasted a better Christmas pudding. All in all I couldn't fault a thing.

Lovely place to go and meet up with friends for different occasions. I recently went with my sister for a bite to eat and had a bottle of white wine with a dash of lemonade to drink. Previous to this I have visited with both my Mum and Sister on other nights during last year.

We were politely welcomed. We were seated by the carvery and it looked very good, a lot better than last time. The service was excellent, as usual, and they were very careful regarding my dietary requirements. We were all very pleased with our drinks, meal and the service we received. Thank you very much.

We sat at the large table ,are server's were Tony and Luke's they were very professional and made us feel wellcome.as it was two family's dining we paid separately if we needed any information are server's were always there to help .we had carvery.one was a veggie .I was from the Wirral visiting.will come again due to the staff and food .and live music .the manerger was all so helpful as one of the little girls was crying because the ma hine froze after putting her pound in .but all sorted .5* thank you staff

I had the most delightful dining experience at The Vikings Landing in Liverpool! The Carvery was absolutely fantastic, with a wide array of mouthwatering options. The roast meats were tender and flavorful, and the variety of vegetables and potatoes were exceptional. The ambiance was charming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. I can't recommend this place enough for a satisfying and delicious meal. It's a must-visit in Liverpool!

We visited just to have a warm drink while my friends car was in the garage.To start with we were greeted upon arrival by a really friendly young lady who directed us to a cosy table by the fireplace, the pub felt warm and welcoming as we sat down. The young lady quickly got us a breakfast menu all the time chatting and making us feel so welcome. We had our food and warm drinks brought to us without to much of a wait and it was delicious. We ended up sitting there for 2 hrs being waited on by the ever attentive young lady who we found out was called Olivia s she has an s as there are 2 Olivias. We will definitely be back. Thank you Olivia for making our visit so nice.

We'd booked a table for 11 to celebrate Mothers Day. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The carvery was also very good. All in all I'd highly recommend the Vikings Landing. *** just a small note to prospective customers with dogs. It says it's dog friendly, however this isn't quite true. You are restricted to outside and a small section. Where we were booked in to eat, no dogs were allowed. So just check if it's OK to bring a dog and have it sat with you*** Otherwise you can't ask too much more for a pub with good food, great staff and a nice family atmosphere. Many thanks.

There was a misunderstanding with my steak. I selected medium well done but the kitchen sent out a medium rare. Was explaining the mistake to one of the wait staff when Phil stepped in to get it all straightened out and a replacement meal was brought back a few minutes later. Phil also offered to send my niece’s meal back as well so that we’d both be eating at the same time but we kindly declined as that seemed wasteful and it was starting to get busy. All staff were great and very apologetic for the mistake. But it’s just human error and mistakes can happen in a busy kitchen the 2nd attempt was spot on with a pink blush but not bloody when I checked so was happy to finish the meal and make our exit with a full belly and an intention to return.

Love the carvery. Only complaint Yorkshire puds too big. Other than that everything great.

Took my family for dinner got a full large carvery, the slice of each meat was very very very thin, I even said don't be afraid to cut the meat give me a real slice I seen more meat on a chickens lip then what was on my plate, they then started to gather the crumbs to add it onto the plate to make it look like more meat, very confusing right, desserts was lovely but very pricey, £6 for dessert good price but if you want to add a teaspoon of icecream and teaspoon of custard £13 each,

Popped in for a Friday meal. We had a great welcome from front desk, impeccable bar staff and a boss chef on the carvery. Big shout out to everyone working there. And the food was amazing as always. Honey glazed ham, turkey and beef. We'll be back

Love coming here great place for families, Came for my sisters 18th birthday meal as we always come here for family gatherings. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly and the place is always clean and well presented. The food was exceptional as always and we all had a lovely time.

Food wasn't great. Chicken wasn't cooked. Meat was over cooked and not medium rare. Gammon was burnt to a crisp. Onion rings were overcooked and vile. Halloumi fries were like rubber. Very disappointing overall.

Lovely pub, friendly staff. We had a carvery it was lovely, food hot and a good choice of vegetables. Nice playing area and garden for children. The only downside to our experience was the playing if Christmas songs the 26th October🙈 I feel for the staff if they have to listen to that until Christmas 🎄. Otherwise lovely pub would visit again if in Liverpool.

Our original plans were ruined by the rain so myself and my mum went to the Vikings Landing. I was so grateful that we got a table as it was very last minute. Staff were friendly and the service was great, my mum had a carvery which she enjoyed and I opted for a salad which was really tasty. Vikings Landing is my family's favourite Marsdens and it's our go to place for meeting up with the rest of the family.

Phil and team are fab. Always there for any problem if any. in our case there was none, we did not wait long for food. we are regular visitors here and service is brill.

Staff are so friendly, can not do enough. Served by Karen who was great. Food is delicious, we had mixed grill, southern fried chicken burgers and chicken and bacon salad all was fantastic. Venue clean and welcoming.

Myself and my hubby are regularly eating here the staff are polite and very helpful, the chef Matthew is immaculate, always happy to serve beautiful meats on the carvery and does so with great mannerisms, smiles and great enthusiasm, always pleased with the service and more so with the food. Disable parking near front. Disabled toilets not clearly marked but its combined with baby changing room. Dog friendly- (call ahead to check in case there are parties on). Nice selection of food and they let you know what's out of stock when you get seated to prevent early disappointment. Jumbo cake slices are-in fact-JUMBO. Clean toilets. Friendly staff but seem understaffed each time I've gone. 1 or 2 extra hands would make the service that much smoother n less of a wait for everyone. Great prices and the food is NEVER disappointing. If you don't want screaming kids, go after 7pm. Outside seating and cover against the weather. Quiz nights. Free parking- just put your registration it at the front desk. It's great.

When we arrived we waited at the door to be seated it took a while for someone to take us to a table. The bar staff seen us, a little “someone will be with you soon” would have been nice. The lady who greeted us was lovely she took us to our table and explained how it’s best to order from the QR code which we did and another lovely lady came over to give us our cutlery and check our order was right. Our drinks were brought to the table then our food arrived which was lovely too. All in all great service just need to make sure people are greeted even just to acknowledge you. Also we tried to order a desert after we had ordered our food and paid but I could only get the feedback form up? Don’t know if it’s just a technical issue we ended up going to the bar to order desert
