Booked for 15 family members and was really pleased with the attention we received from the manager to the staff serving us all. All food served in good time and was of a quality standard. Can't wait to return.

My dad and i have been to the viking several times recently and on each occasion we have thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the attention of their lovely polite staff. Prices are reasonable the food always hot and overall i really nice place to eat. A big thank you to the staff here who are a credit to the place.

The service was exceptional, swift, polite and friendly. We had different meals but four of us had a roast dinner. The only downside was the mean portions of meat from the carvery and just one green vegetable (peas) in the selection.

Connor and Liv provide 5 * service everytime!!!

fantastic service Monday afternoon 29.04.24 I was looked after by Zoe. Nothing was too much trouble a really pleasant and enjoyable experience.

Was serviced by Charlotte, very polite and helpful with anything we needed. Food is lovely and worth the money.

Olivia b and her team have made us as welcome as ever! Dog friendly and more people friendly than most chain pubs. Bella looked after us including a dog. We love this place and the warm welcome we receive- today we have ate only snacks but had a fab time delivered by a fab team! Thank you!!!

We often come as a family to enjoy a carvery together, which is always lovely. Staff are always attentive, particularly tonight Ester was fantastic she worked hard and remained pleasant. Thank you guys x

Ate here on the way home from work this week. First time I’ve been in for a long time. Service was great. Big thanks to Nathan. Made it so much more of a visit. Food was pretty average but what do you expect from a chain pub

On arrival was met with a warm welcome.food was good. Eat food an drinks.decided to order another 2drinks.wasnt givin the option of what wine they serve.to my astonishment 1 pint of larger 1glass small white wine an lemonade came to £15.50.when I asked the manager to check the bill he gave me print out and walked away. I asked a waitress why it was so expensive and she said they just give the most expensive wine with out asking for your preferred one. Very disappointed to go out for afternoon tea in my local pub to pay £15.50 for 2drinks.

The food here is always really nice. It is very good value for money and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Lovely!

Excellent pub food and perfect service! Food came quickly & was cooked to perfection. David was great and so we're the other staff but we never got their names sadly. The pub was very busy, but this in no way affected the wait at all. Would recommend to everyone, especially the Sunday roast, it's so tasty.

It was the 1st time visiting this pub. And let’s just say food was piping hot. Service was really good especially from Danny. He is so friendly and chatty. It is so nice that you have a lovely pleasant guy working for you. It was a pleasure to have a chat with him today. Whilst he was serving me my Sunday carvery. We will definitely be coming back

We were in town for my sister-in-law's birthday, and came here for lunch. Managed to park without difficulty. We were greeted by Phil (the manager, I think), and received a very warm welcome. We were shown to our table straight away. The food was great. I had the carvery, and just for a change (I usually go to a pub which is not part of the Marston group), the veg was well cooked. We all enjoyed the food we had, and the service was excellent. A special thanks to Bella and Liv B who waited on our table, but that said, all the staff were great. We had a really good time here today, and will definitely be back.

We booked online, which was really easy, got there and shown to our table straight away by a smart young man who was very polite. Food came quickly and we chatted to David, the assistant manager, who is always very friendly and polite. He even came over to check my order was correct, as it was down as coming with salad instead of chips (our mistake as we ordered from the App) Fabulous place, and of course very busy as always

The staff are absolutely fantistic here! So helpful, cheery and attentive! I told the manager (Phil) this whilst there! It is so refreshing to see such a great team all working together! Phil even rang the manager of another Marstons pub (Green Lodge, Hoylake) to check out an event for me! Can’t fault anything - keep up the good work!

Went for lunch with some friends from over the water, food and service is amazing been here a few times it's such a nice place. Got chatting to Phil over another Matstons pub that he recommended as we live close by. Nice friendly place. Always love come here when this side of the water

Served by Tony went out if his way to serve us party of 5. He did amazing Job serving us made us laugh and cry very whitty and talkative. He went out if his way to save a minor problem. Never stopped out again in June to see him he would make a great manager a definite asset to the team!

Food was great, service from a lad with a moustache was too notch. Only downside was the manager seemed to be constantly lecturing the staff. A bit off putting when the staff here are always legends.

Service and food was good. However the app was awful. I ordered 4 meals and drinks but it wasn't updating when I added them and it took about 15 mins to put the order through which sent too many drinks because of this. Ridiculous.

16 of us booked in for early Thursday dinner. Seem to be mainly new, young staff. Very courteous staff but confused over booking, tab, taking orders en masse. Our meals didn't come out together and our hangry youngest waited the longest for her sausages and mash. The food was delicious though

Keen to tell you of my bad experience. I was stood at the bar waiting to be served for 5 plus minutes. No staff visible behind the bar. I'm keen to learn where they were . Then a couple came in the door and keenly waited at the bar as I was. Then eventually a not so keen bar person came over and served them BEFORE me. I was not keen about this - in fact I was horrified. Do the staff have no training to serve people more promptly and in the correct order.I was keen to have food but this changed my mind quickly. By the way self praise is no praise. Dont respond by telling me that you are keen to learn more about my visit and about your amazing staff and great manager as I have on several occasions found it to be quiet the opposite. Shoddy service is not something I am keen to tolerate in any pub or restaurant. Sort it out. You have hundreds of bad reviews going back several years and your being keen to know why does not help. There is no improvement here ever. Tell that to your "amazing"" not staff who are not so keen to serve people. Food is terrible and the service is even worse . Avoid at all costs. I am not keen to return. They overcharge for drinks. I'm keen to know why a pint of Peroni costs £6.10 here. I had one in another pub in Liverpool recently for £3.90. The carvery or roast food looks disgusting. I was not keen to risk having it. The meat looks hard and dried out. The roasties look like prunes. Re: overuse of the word "keen". Please read the responses to the numerous bad reviews here and the reason will be clear. Rock on and stay keen. Edited after response. I tried to ring you on the number given. After the sky/British gas type menus someone eventually answered. They said you were not there. Who is managing the place then???. I guess this is when the shoddy service is taking place. I felt invisible the last time I waited at your bar to be served. You served people who just walked in and I was ignored. Sort out your inept staff.

We arrived at 4-45 pm on Thursday 4 April , waited about 5 mins for someone to come to us at the entrance . We were told by the gentleman working there there would not be a table until 6-30 pm ! The place was less than half full ! We left but realised there was an option to book a table , so we booked for 5-15 pm . Went back in and the same gentleman came to us and didn’t seem surprised that we could book a table and just said ok see you at 5-15 it was then 4-55 . No apology as a table had miraculously become available . I asked if we could go to the bar to get a drink whilst waiting because yes . He also stated earlier that they had a lot of bookings for 5 pm . We stood at the bar until 5-15 and 3 lots of people arrived in that time one group of 4 and 2 others of 2 people . There was plenty of tables that us 3 could have sat at . I said to my friends watch him disappear at 5-10 ! Bang on queue he took a call and wandered in and out of the pub , we waited from 5-15 till nearly 5-20 until another lady came to us and we said we have a table booked she checked and said I will make sure your table is cleaned and ready , then proceeded to walk to a table I know to have been empty for the last 30 minutes !!! Wow . What a waste of our time when we could have been sat down eating our food so that we could be on our way and freeing up the table for others . The gentleman who looked to be in charge never arrived back into the pub after his embarrassment from earlier . Whilst the food was really good the service and customer skills left a lot to be desired . I would be interested to know the reasons for the blatant lies of there being no table when there was clearly plenty of tables !

Just amazing every time! Came for Christmas day, St Patrick's day and Easter Sunday and have never once regretted it! Kids want to come back on Sunday before they go back to school.. nicest carvery in Liverpool by far! Phil and the team go above and beyond every time.

Service and staff amazing. Always welcoming. Mix up with food which was rectified without issue. However, it did make me ill due to eating something I really don’t like. Will still be returning. Mistakes happen

We all had mixed grills and it was the worst we've ever, we will never go there again only reason we ate it was we waited so long for it we where starving

mostly good food but i gave the carvery a go, i asked for pork witch turned out to be 90% fat, the carrot and turnip was large chunks in water , the roast potatoes were like prunes.. safe to say we will not eat there again.

Unfortunately it was a wake for my brother but as always, great prices and customer service. Nice garden area as well. 💯👍

Came for Sunday dinner with the family. Place had been busy all day and they squeezed us in. Josh C and Esther were looking after our area. The pair of them never stopped and must have cleaned and brushed every inch of the place invetween serving food. Manners on all the staff were excellent and very friendly. Will be back again. Warning.... the carvery is massive and very tasty.

We'd booked a table for 11 to celebrate Mothers Day. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The carvery was also very good. All in all I'd highly recommend the Vikings Landing. *** just a small note to prospective customers with dogs. It says it's dog friendly, however this isn't quite true. You are restricted to outside and a small section. Where we were booked in to eat, no dogs were allowed. So just check if it's OK to bring a dog and have it sat with you*** Otherwise you can't ask too much more for a pub with good food, great staff and a nice family atmosphere. Many thanks.
