Ioannis was a lovely server and very accomodating. I had a great view and tried carbonara without cream. It was awesome lad. P.s just chiming in here, I had the sirloin steak (medium rare) and I must say it was beautiful but what made it better was ioannis’ smile every time I took a bite. Cheers 👍

Ionnis was a perfect accoutrement to a perfect evening. The food is exquisite and the chef was on point this evening. This has to be up there with the top 5 central Liverpool 'true and genuine Italiano experience' thankyou very much we will visit soon. Xx

The food was excellent and staff members Hannah & David very attentive. Ambience was good, even though it was a Monday evening. We were asked if it was a special occasion and my husband told them it was my sisters birthday. At the end of the meal, they brought a bowl of ice cream with a candle in it and sang ‘Happy birthday’, which was a nice gesture. It was only the next day we realised we had actually been charged for it…only a small amount but it was just the principle that we hadn’t asked for it. The kind gesture was a little ‘soured’ by this, considering how much we spent.

Hannah and team were fabulous. Will come again. Had birthday voucher as a member that staff were very helpful with arranging. 🥰

Recently dined at Piccolino restaurant and was really disappointed with the experience. Don't mind paying for quality but on this occasion a search party was needed to find it, both £8 starters were lacklustre and the main meals unfortunately the same. The waiter was very attentive and now I know why. I wish I had been more diligent checking the bill so to anyone else visiting be sure to check the bill for the so called 'optional' 10% service charge as we were not even given the option, some people would say they stole it. The overall atmosphere was lackluster and uninviting. The prices were exorbitant for the subpar quality of the food and the overall dining experience. I definitely do not recommend dining at this restaurant and will not be returning. Being generous with the 3 star

Went in to piccolino on Valentine’s Day was seated straight away even tho it was very busy the food was amazing and the service was quick efficient and the staff are very friendly and polite I will definitely be visiting again in the near future

Bang average food, dry pasta and pizza with toppings all falling off. Service was good but that’s the only positive I can give, would not come again and much nicer food restaurants for cheaper value. Avoid.

Gorgeous meal with a great atmosphere and lovely service. Ioannis G went above and beyond and despite it being so busy, was incredibly hospitable - the effort he made to speak with us really made our night.

Food just wasn't that great and let it down sadly. Pizza was very soggy in the middle and disappointing for the cost. Fries were good, did not try the garlic bread but friends did and this looked mice. Service was attentive, and friendly.

Very disappointed!! Had to send the king prawns back as it was black!! They took it to the kitchen and said the chef said it’s because of what the prawns have eaten!! They didn’t offer to replace it.

Not for the first time visiting Piccolino, greeted with what's not available on the menu. Not a great start to any occasion. We all had to compromise, and our guest was understanding. If we had a little more time, we would have left and ate elsewhere. Was it a good experience? No. Will we visit again, maybe, but there are plenty more restaurants in Liverpool. In fairness visited during the January offer, so the restaurant was busy. Would have preferred to pay full price against a full menu.

Excellent service from start to finish. We were a party of 10 fitted in at the last minute due to another restaurant letting us down. Staff were welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere relaxed. Our table wasn't quite ready so we had drinks at the bar downstairs first. Bar staff were knowledgeable and helpful, drinks reasonably priced. We were seated upstairs and given plenty of time to look at the menu. There is plenty of choice including veggie, vegan and gluten free options. We realised that we had to leave quite quickly for the theatre, however staff were quick to help, the server coming to the table to help us work out individual bills. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion and would definitely visit again.

Came here between Christmas and New Year and had a wonderful time! The staff were really friendly, attentive, and made us feel extremely welcome throughout our meal. There was a bit of joking and laughs, too, which really added to the experience. The food was all fantastic. I went for the Burrata to start, which was absolutely delicious! I had to slow myself a couple of times to make sure I savoured it! My partner went for the tartare di salmone, which she adored! So full of flavour! For main I went for the Capricciosa pizza, which was very nice, the dough was the best bit, really moreish! My partner went for the Filetto Al Pepe and said the steak was cooked beautifully, really tender and so full of flavour. She also said the fries were tasty, crispy with fluffy centres. We also has a side of Zucchine Fritte, which were lovely, crispy on the outside, and cooked nicely in the middle. They have a good selection of beers, wines, and spirits, as well as soft drinks, so something for everyone! The dishes are pricier than other restaurants, but we felt the service and food quality were definitely worth the price. Highly recommend coming here for a great meal!

Nice meal. Food was good. Service was good except for the fact that they gave us an almond biscuit with the coffee - my husband is allergic to nuts, which we informed them about. More attention to detail required. It could have been a disaster!

Food was ok, service was seriously average which ruined any chance of us enjoying the food experience. The girl looking after our table was nice but inexperienced. 20mins to get someone to take the order after prompting 3 different people, 45min to get our antipasto, breadboard placed ontop of of a plate holder (wierd) burnt bread... then bland mains arrive and the request for clacked pepper is directed to a pepper shaker that didn't work. Asked for cheese for the pasta, the bloke never came back with it... Completely lost me there I'm afraid...

Tak więc jeśli chcecie najeść się homarem, to jest o to nieco ciężko. Przy kompozycji potrawy ze stekiem polecam wybrać sos „blue cheese”, naprawdę świetnie się komponuje z mięsem. Jakość jedzenia naprawdę bardzo dobra. Ceny nie są wygórowane, a w restauracji jest naprawdę dużo miejsca. Czas oczekiwania na jedzenie to około 20 minut.

This is a really nice Italian restaurant. Hard to believe I haven’t been in here before given where it is. Centrally located, just off Castle Street and North John Street, this place is opposite the former Irwin Pickard store. Two floors, the atmosphere is decent. Very brightly lit though. Service was excellent - quick and warm. Seated immediately with choice of table. Booths available. Deep fried burrata to begin. Gorgeous and gooey. Then truffle pizza. Rich. Tasty. The pudding was, as it should be, tiramisu. Big fan of an Ichnusa, they had that too. Decent beer. Overall a hit. Well done. Recommended. Will come back here. For sure.

My mother visited me from London. It was her birthday, and we were treated like royalty! Even receiving a complimentary glass of prosecco to toast my mums birthday. I had a terrible experience and I genuinely wish I could give this restaurant less than zero stars. The high prices certainly didn't match the abysmal service. The entire restaurant was in chaos, with my pasta taking a whopping 40 minutes to arrive. The staff seemed completely disorganized, running around without a plan, clueless, and disorganized. To make matters worse, there was zero communication with customers. I struck up a conversation with the people at the next table, and they shared my frustration. They had come to dine based on recommendations but ended up waiting much longer than other tables. It was a frustrating experience, to say the least. Even a simple glass of wine took over 15 minutes to arrive. I mean, how long should it take to pour a glass of wine? It was simply unbelievable. The food, when it finally arrived, was just okay, but I discovered sand in my spaghetti Alla Vongole. Next dish was Terribke too. I had spent 2 To top it off, there was no manager on shift to address the issue, and the staff showed no remorse for the terrible experience. I'd rather go to San Marco, and I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I was super impressed from the moment I walked through the door. The atmosphere is lovely and chilled with pleasant and friendly staff. I had a wonderful alcohol-free cocktail at the bar before heading to our table. The food was AMAZING. I spent a couple of years working in Italy, where I experienced some truly wonderful meals. My experience at the Piccolino reminded me of that time. The dessert platter to share - this is something not to be missed!

Superb meal, and excellent atmosphere, along with a good service - however this would have been 5 for service if they weren't understaffed at such a busy time!

Very disappointing experience (visited 16th September) compared with previous occasions. Food and service okay, although food has been better in the past. Atmosphere completely ruined partly by noise level but primarily by some wannabe paparazzi constantly using flash photography directly in my sight line. This individual ran off 20-30 shots in the space of 10 minutes. I go to a restaurant to eat, not to tolerate some tedious photo shoot. If you are going to allow this sort to carry on these activities, why are they not kept out of sight of people dining rather than being allowed to interfere with others' enjoyment? It will be a long time (if ever) before I come back here. Had I known that this kind of activity was given priority over others I would have eaten elsewhere.
