Absolutely love this place. I have visited 10+ times over the last 12 months and each time the service is great, the food is delicious and the atmosphere, naturally, is lovely (it's surrounded by greenery). On my most recent visit it seemed the vegetarian options had reduced somewhat but this may be down to seasonality. It's also a great place to take your laptop on a spring/summers day and get some work done sat outside, along with your coffee/lunch. They have power points and I always manage to get a good internet connection.

The food here is always exceptional, I had the tempura prawns and I've never tasted batter that good! It's a shame they don't allow dogs given the location though and I wish the menu was a little bigger or they served the breakfast options all day.

The service was excellent, really nice vibe with all the cyclists and amazing views of the countryside to look at whilst enjoying my coffee. Outstanding food and service in a beautiful location. Breakfast is fantastic, main menu for lunch is really good regardless of whether it's a snack or a full dinner. Most recently had a Sunday lunch here and it was out of this world. The location is fab, especially in Spring and Summer for sitting on the patio. The service from all staff is friendly and efficient and the perfect amount of attentiveness. It has a lovely vibe to the place with people having celebrations, cyclists an folk just in for coffee and cake Everything that comes out the kitchen is absolutely top notch and the owners work hard to make sure you have a great experience. A must visit for anyone.

We arrived mid morning on bikes, and had a nice experience except for one important point... The welcome we got, we were asked immediately if we'd booked, and when we said no (as we didn't think we had to for a cycling cafe!) we felt unwelcome, and it was suggested we'd have to sit outside (it was quite chilly and we were cold from riding) - luckily my forthright riding friend spotted someone about to leave a sofa and had to forcefully suggest we could sit there, which seemed to be somewhat reluctantly accepted. Once sat down we were served by someone else and it was all fine from then forwards, but as a supposed cycling cafe we were all left with a slightly sour feeling and not sure if we'll return. We had previously been maybe 10-12 times over the past few years. I can't imagine many bikers will frequent either, the bike theme now seems to be a thin veneer...

What was once a cracking stop for any group of cyclists wanting to reload on Coffee and cake during a group ride has sadly parted ways with their roots and look to appeal to the masses offering 3 course lunches and Christmas party bookings in advance. Told we would have to sit outside because we hadn’t booked was an odd welcome to say the least. Asked for cakes which were well displayed at the front of shop, but we had to order from the table without a cake menu. Just never really felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Cycling apparel and signage on the wall will not be enough to keep this as a cycling cafe. Cyclists talk.

Writing as a group of 4 cyclists who arrived for coffee and cake half way through our. ride. We were greeted by a chap who kind of looked us up and down and told us we'd have to sit outside because we hadn't booked... There were 2 spare tables at the back albeit he was not going to offer us one of them. We did manage to find some space on the sofa near the toilets (the lady who served us was friendly enough). I've been to Ventoux many times over the years, I've never been a huge fan but this particular non cyclist welcome is the nail in the coffin for me. We parted with £25 and that's the last time. "Ventoux" - Is this really a cycling cafe or just an averagely marketed hyped up cafe than doesn't really want cycling clientele as customers??

Being early we decided to grab a sit down coffee before the drive. What a place. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the cafe is a little quirky and chic - in a welcoming way. Pleanty of tables, open countryside all around and coffee that is sublime. The best americano in a long, long time. We were tempted by the breakfasts, and had a Brioche sausage bap and a brioche bacon bap. I cant complain about the sasuage bap, it was wonderful and my wife raved about the bacon bap. The menu is limited - so what, its a cafe. We will be back....

We visited Cafe V last night with friends. Paulina and Max made the evening a fantastic evening for us all. Max’s flare and passion as a chef shines through in his evening menu. The steaks were the best we’d eaten in some time, the duck, so tender and flavoursome and the sea bass a divine mix of flavours and textures. This couple really do go out of their way to personalise your dining experience with them. The attention to detail in each plate is inspiring. We have seen and witnessed recent comments about the poor service but honestly please don’t give up on this venue, the food is the real magic and the service issues are being addressed. Bistro Ventoux would have aptly describe the dining experience last night. 5 star!

No longer the top quality cycling pit stop that it once was, it instead feels much more like a restaurant. The food, whilst tasty, is rather pretentious, with what should be simple tasty cafe snacks tarted up to try and justify a high price and small portions. Take a look at the beans on toast, the jus around the plate is a tad over the top in my opinion. Unfortunately the staff also seemed to struggle when it came to dividing the bill up, resulting in some of us paying far more than we should have, which wouldn’t have happened if we could just order at the till. The new building is lovely and well decorated, as is the landscaping outside. Though the bikes are quite a way from the cafe now, to the point where it’s not actually easy to keep an eye on them.

Recently, I enjoyed a delightful breakfast meal at Café Ventoux, and the offerings left me thoroughly impressed. The pancakes? Absolute perfection with their fluffy texture and impeccable pairing with side elements. The standout dishes, though, were the robust Full English breakfast and the impeccably seasoned Smashed Avocado. The café's warm ambiance, combined with the delectable dishes, turned our morning into an unforgettable experience. My two boys were over the moon, and even my typically discerning parents rated it as first-class. A special mention goes to the two female staff members who went above and beyond to make us feel exceptionally welcomed. Definitely recommend this place for breakfast/brunch or coffee & cake. There is gf bread available & milk alternatives. Service was very quick & friendly & the food was beautifully presented & very tasty - our whole group commented on it & had empty plates! Coffee was great too (even the decaf). Breakfast is able to be ordered up to 11.30am on a Sunday (when we visited) & then becomes Sunday lunch. There is seating inside & out, although the outside seating didn't have any shade when we visited, so we opted to sit inside. The cafe decor is modern & has an interesting display on cycling. There is a single toilet inside the cafe (very clean), which has disability features, but I'm not sure if it would be large enough for a wheelchair user. Plenty of hardstanding parking with dedicated motorcycle parking on both sides of the car park entrance. If going on a weekend, I would recommend booking a table or coming early, as it can get very busy. Lovely view of surrounding farmland while you eat. Definitely will be back!

I had ridden out to the cafe for my first ever visit, having heard so much about a ‘cycle friendly’cafe called Ventoux. I had even brought along a friend from the Lake District hoping to impress them. When we saw the price of the food (fuel) for lunch we decided to have coffee and cake. Both coffee and cake were fine and the coffee good. We didn’t really feel welcome as cyclists to a cycle cafe, particularly with what appeared to be an expensive limited range of food, that we felt missed the target customer. The abundance of signed felt off putting and very officious/OTT. I certainly won’t be back, but that felt like the intention. I would not describe the venue as cycling friendly. I’m very surprised and disappointed…..

However we recently visited on a Friday evening for a friends birthday for their evening menu. The food was excellent and everyone really enjoyed it, lovely risotto for me. I heard the chef was previously at the finches arms at hambleton and it shows. The chef also came out to speak to us and check everything was OK too which was a nice touch. The service was brilliant and we were really well looked after throughout and its a nice atmosphere! We were a large party but the restaurant was otherwise empty and I think many people don't know what's on offer here, more social media and advertising needed! Will return again for special occasions in the evening and the usual cafe offering for cycling business! Thanks for a lovely evening!

Our second visit this year and brought, my Parents as lovely last time. Arrived at 12, waited a while to be seated and only given drinks menu as swapping from breakfast to lunch. We had to go up to the counter to ask for menus and take drinks order, although there seemed to be plenty of staff. I think it was the boss who asked if we wanted to order so I queried the menu as it was just BBQ options and nothing from the menu online. I was told it was just a sample menu and should have looked on social media, I can't see anything that says times of service or special menu options. The food did arrive quickly and hot. Our order included 2 children's options as only thing not spicy. These had been upgraded by a pound without asking to £7.50 for a brioche with just 2 sausages or bacon no garnish or cheese. Not good value. The boss liked to answer back instead of improving customer service. We left feeling very underwhelmed and poorer.

Having ridden out from Sleaford (45 miles) we were disappointed to find that the breakfast menu had finished and had to wait half an hour before the kitchen started the lunch menu. When we arrived, the fact that it is now apparently table service was...

Update: cafe has changed hands. Food good, staff lovely, teas and coffees reasonably priced but some items eg milkshake are expensive. Lovely venue apart from the overkill of negatively phrased notices telling you what you can and can't do on the property. Only two toilets for a large cafe. Good venue for a local fundraiser, a 5 and 10k run. Plenty of parking.

Really like this place. Food is excellent, lovely place to go to eat inside or outdoors when the weather is good. Staff very efficient and friendly - it will become one of our favourite places to go.

Our first visit to cafe Ventoux. Really well set out giving you the option to sit outside on tables or couches or be inside. We arrived just before lunch and decided to wait for the Sunday lunch to start. It was well worth the wait. The starter was divine the picture shows the asparagus but the main course of beef was one of the best beef lunches I have had. My wife’s coronation quiche was just as good. What they do here is to be the very best in food. If you have not tried cafe Ventoux take a trip out you will love it. Oh and the breakfast still been served as we arrived looked just as special.
