Cafe Shore in Argyll & Bute

Decided not to give us our order due to them charging us £20 for a meal that they put the ticket for in their served pile

Cute cafe, the food really tasted great. :) However, my toast (which looked really great) was completely hidden under the topping - so it was really black. You didn't taste it strongly, but roasted aromas aren't always a plus... Otherwise really nice employees and dogs are also very welcome here.

First time here, & we were pleasantly surprised. The food & drink is a reasonable price. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Coffee and carrot cake - the carrot cake had too much icing.

During our travels of Scotland we visited Cafe Shore. There seemed to be lots of, what looked like, locals; which is always a good sign! We walked in and were greeted pleasantly and efficiently. After a browse of the menu we both landed on the Scottish Breakfast however both having a dislike of Black Pudding we subbed out for an extra egg instead - this was no issue. Food and drinks came out promptly and hot and both tasted fantastic! Very pleased, if we visit Oban again we will definitely return!

My girlfriend and I live in Mull and we do our shopping in oban with the aid of a trolley. Just as we were passing by café Shore our trolley wheel breaks off! We were in hurry to catch our ferry and had 4 heavy crates to carry to the ferry terminal, so I ask the lad in the café who was cleaning the floor if I could leave some crates there whilst I brought them to the terminal. This lad offered to help and brought 2 crates all the way to the ferry terminal, just in time to catch the cancelled 15:55 ferry... What a service!

Had a lovely brunch here whilst visiting Oban. Great service, spotlessly clean & good choices of quality food from the menu.

Much to my disappointment, the hot chocolate was not amazing. While the cream was of admirable quality and clearly applied with practiced technique, the marshmallows were needlessly chewy and of a strange, granulated texture, followed by the consistency. Unfortunately, it was woefully unpleasant, the beverage being far too thick to the point that all chocolate flavour was drowned out, reducing it to a thick sludge, making me unable to entirely finish the drink. The temperature was to a respectable standard however. A real heartache as the venue and staff were lovely. 1/10

It would be nice to update Google on the opening hours !!!! This cafe is Closed until January 26th 2024

I just love to eat there. I just feel very comfortable there and it's the first Cafe I walked into on my very first day in Oban

We visit Cafe Shore regularly & are happy with what we get at any time of the day.Today was disappointing, tepid lentil soup that appeared to have no substance to it.Normally the soup is delicious.Had a nice baguette, coffee & cake.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Just had a breakfast roll. It was honestly the worst sausage ever. Our order arrived within 30 seconds so obviously pre cooked. Could hardly get my teeth into it. £11 for 2 rolls n sausage and 2 cup’s of tea. Absolute rip off for horrible food. Don’t waste your money

This is lovely independent cafe with good range of breakfast and lunch options.

They were very busy for brunch - long line! - so we decide to come back just after 3:00pm for late lunch - as they close at 4:00pm. Bad idea! The staff seemed exhausted with not a smile in sight. They started cleaning and closing up just as we sat down. By the time we left at 4:00pm, many of the tables already had the chairs on top. We had soup and sandwiches. The food was average. Request for Tabasco or any other hot sauce resulted in us being given salt & pepper! We felt rushed so skipped dessert. Recommendation: Go for breakfast, not late lunch!

Came here for breakfast. My wife and I had the full scottish breakfast with a latte. It was very well cooked and the qualityof the food was great. Also a very generous portion. Friendly and quick service also. Would definitely recommend and I will most certainly return next time in Oban.

My partner and I popped into the cafe the other day while visiting Oban on a 4-day weekend in Scotland although it is small the cafe is clean and tidy in fact whilst waiting to be seated a member of staff cleaned the table we were to be using all the staff we're friendly and helpful I can not praise them enough if I am in the area again I would not hesitate to use it again

We went to Cafe Shore for breakfast, the food was hot and tasty, staff very pleasant and polite. We liked it so much we went back the next morning! It’s very busy so go early, we loved the vibe of the early morning hustle and bustle, it kind of set us up for the day as well as the food. Delightful.

This is a lovely little cafe where we had a lovely lunch of toasties, coffee & cake! Selection of homemade cakes were great & made it difficult to choose! Great value for money! Staff were lovely & friendly. We even went back for breakfast before heading home today! Highly recommend!

we were very happy to be able to get a seat in this very busy cafe in oban, our service provided was outstanding and the food we were served was top quality. Staff were very friendly and the girl making the coffees was very cheerful. We were sat near to the door and over heard some rude customers but it was handled extremely well by the manager, keep going guys you are doing an amazing job !! I'm a regular visitor, and I'm one of those for multiple reasons. Great food, drinks, and service. I've been visiting this lovely cafe for the past 3 years on a usually weekly and at times even twice daily basis while working in Oban. Every visit is a pleasure. The food is yummy, coffee and shakes are tasty, and the service is great. The toasties are particularly good and the cake selection is fabulous, there's definitely something for everyone.

We attempted to eat here on two occasions yesterday afternoon. On the first occasion, we waited for about 5 minutes and were ignored by all staff. We went to do some shopping elsewhere and thought we'd try again later. When we came back, we stood for another 10 minutes while the queue was out the door; this in turn caused issues for the server as everyone was then in their way. As we were once again ignored by staff upon our return - with the exception of being asked to move multiple times so he could get in and out of the building while another 3 members of staff looked on from behind the counter as they stood talking amongst themselves - a table of 2, who had been sitting at a table for 4, left. As we were at the front of the queue and were with an elderly friend who was in need of a seat, we sat down. This was met with abuse from the male waiter out front who proceeded to shout at us in front of fellow customers and staff. No other staff intervened even though a number of people in the queue turned and left while other customers already seated looked on in surprise. As locals, we try and support our local cafes however, manners cost nothing. In this day and age, particularly in a hospitality setting, customer service is a crucial part of the job description. We have been in a handful of times before and were reasonably pleased with the service we received but on this occasion we were sorely disappointed.

Food was just ok and a bit expensive. Jacket potato with Prawns in Marie Rose sauce - fairly flavourless, the potato was still slightly undercooked and I’m not sure a few leaves of lettuce and a cherry tomato cut in half constitutes a salad? Around £7.95 for that. Service was quick and the cafe was clean on a positive note.
