Poor procedures in the security checkpoint area and late gate assignment. There were 15 minutes between the gate announcement and the last call/gate closure.

Fairly efficient and easy to access. Usually good for cheap flights! There is also plenty of food options to choose for those who like to snack before the flight

Arrivals terminal. It's spacious and relatively tidy, but not very clean in some areas. The restrooms in the baggage claim area are in deplorable condition, dirty, and without soap. The immigration staff were friendly. The train station was tidy and well-signposted.

A great airport. Yet some people are using Indirect Aggression in order to cause emotional distress to other people. Indirect Aggression are verbal acts of aggression, so embarrassing others or otherwise, somehow trying to reduce the wellbeing of others, by saying certain things, in particular in groups.

Pay for trolley cart!!! Must be the only airport in the world that makes you do this! Bad service!

What a shitty airport, the place where you get off the plane is so far away from the toilet, what if there is an emergency and you need to go to the toilet? Most of the routes are are useless， the experience is terrible！！

Always the speediest security check!! Unrivalled, barely ever wait more than 5 min in the south terminal!!

It is far from typical American airport. One rude British Airways employee got the trip off to a rough start. Gate assignments are given close to boarding times.

Been here many times, very busy today but a very smooth process.....

Both my toddler and I got body checked but it was quick. Same with luggage inspections, it went pretty quick. Got used to not removing belt, shoes, etc I. US so the taking them off and on is a bit of a pain.

Never known GWAP to be so easy to get through Security Straight through without a wait everyone had a smile . One little Niggle The lounge I was book into refuse entry due to me being 20 minutes early Now you get a 2 Hour Slot I would have still had to leave earlier due to Having to get to the gate in time The Lounge had 4 people IE Guests and More Staff ! So why on Earth we were not permitted to enter a little earlier the minds Boggles so on that scale this lets the whole experience of our trip decline by 3 Stars ! There was no thought on the reception staff or consideration about us what so ever though the place was empty and I am no joking by the whole airport was so empty.

North Terminal, doesn't have enough seating, on top of that none of the chargers work at any of the seats... Why put them there then??

Airport for nerds. If you’re going to Paris get the Eurostar, or choose literally any other airport. No smoking area. It’s 2025. We used to be able to smoke ON planes and now we can’t even smoke while we wait for one? What is that about? INB4 the Eurostar hasn’t got a smoking area either. Yeah but at least it’s not an airport. You actually arrive AT YOUR DESTINATION, and not an hours journey + a 30 odd quid train ticket away from it. Not only do they want you to be 2 hours early for a short haul flight that, 9/10 times, will be delayed by an hour, but they ALSO want to deprive you of one of the few things that will get you through the torturous wait. Cigarettes. Might as well direct all the AA members straight to the Whetherspoons after passing through security. OH AND GUESS WHAT? THEY’VE OVERSOLD THE FLIGHT. LET’S WAIT EVEN LONGER WHILE YOUR FELLOW PASSENGERS DECIDE WHO’S WILLING TO ACCEPT 300 EUROS. 300 euros !!!!! For the inconvenience of spending the night hanging out around Gatwick Airport. As if it wasn’t dreary and depressing enough during the daytime. See you never, I hope. Kind regards, Abby

Fellow Europeans if you're connecting on BA you need to enter UK and exit again (just arrived from Antigua and connecting on BA to GVA, one ticket).. so from april when you will need an ETA (need to pay for it) you would rather take your business somewhere else where you don't have to enter the country when in transit.

A small airport 30 minutes by train from central London

A big airport! A large airport area with seemingly optimal infrastructure! The airport is spacious, with many long corridors, lao would arrive at one of the many departure gates! The security control system seems a little unusual at first, but you can get used to it! At the airport, of course, you can find many shops selling goods from various merchants, and of course also places to have a meal. The airport premises seem well-kept and objectively clean!

Every member of staff was happy to advise and there is a train from the airport to central London.

It's the airport - pretty standard. Lots of security and plenty to eat and drink whilst you wait. Toilets are kept immaculately - but it loses a star for me because there isn't a McDonald's??!? I wonder why that is???

Security is good but insufficient amount of Toilets in the South Terminal after security - long queues

Old... very expensive ticket to go to London, 20 euros, then another 3.50 to get off at.florest, (station where I needed to be) in other words

The airport staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The entire place was spotless, well-maintained, and organized. Plus, there were plenty of brand options for quick shopping, which made my experience even better! Highly recommended friends, family and colleagues. They must visit and share your experiences.

The treatment at the security checkpoint at the south end is deplorable. I have had to witness how a 5-year-old girl, in a visible state of nerves, was made to go through the scanner several times, frisked and made to take off her shoes. In no airport in the world have I seen minors treated like this. Security is important, but empathy and respect for travelers, who we must not forget are your clients, must have the importance it deserves, at this airport the treatment of people is terrible.

No drama from the arrival terminal to Reading railway station. You can use a €1 coin in the luggage trolley all the way from the baggage claim to the railway station platform 😀

It was pretty good this time really. No queues at security, bit of a walk to the gate but not too bad. Parked my motorbike 🏍 right outside departures for free. Clean toilets . Nice shops.

Really simple to get to, the route is not complex. Just remember to pay the drop off parking charge on time if it you need to, to avoid a fee.

Quite a huge airport in London. Lots of food options. Have always had a positive experience flying to/from here. Easily accessible by public transportation.

Upon landing: The only airport I’ve been to where you have to pay for a luggage trolley. Who’s going to steal a trolley at an airport? The ATM at the luggage reclaim area charges a fee. The machine to change notes to coins wasn’t working. The money changer charges a fee to change to coins. There was no parking spots so the family member picking me up waited by driving around the car park for 20 mins until I got there on the 4th floor of the blue car park. No car park paying machines on each floor or car park section. Only by the entrance on the 2nd floor of the yellow car park. Even Stansted was better than this😳

Gatwick north terminal,The best security and the best very well mannered assistance help

Busy airport. North terminal seemed well served for shopping and restaurants. Some gates are a reasonable walk 10 mins with escalators and lifts. Bridge to the 100+ gates is impressive. There are a few shops at the gates.

Actually, it was great. Quick bag drop, quick security with 3d scanners meaning no items out of bags (looking at you Heathrow) and a nice gate experience. Gatwick really has upped their game 100%

I like this airport but they have recently installed HORRIBLE AIR FRESHNER(‘pyramid hygiene’), horrible, not only this will affect your staff health but also all the passengers walking through Gatwick everyday. Got headache walking through the airport because of these horrendous artificial scent full of chemicals.

Easy access from the car park and by far, less congested than Heathrow

Security was quick, Duty Free plentiful and Spoons!

There are only 2 manual check-in windows open with 10 employees, and the staff at the security checkpoint do not make reasonable arrangements, causing the queue time for some teams to be very long and the queue time for some teams to be very short.

I give this 5 stars as I am comparing it to other uk airports. At the end of the day, it's an airport, but the selection of restaurants and bars beats heathrow and the regional airports I've used. One tip: if staying at the Hilton, make the effort to walk across to the terminal to eat. Weatherspoons, in particular, has a great buzz about it and you can have good food and drink at a fraction of the price of the hotel.

Those automatic passport scanners... they're still playing hard to get, aren't they? It's like they're hosting a tiny, frustrating game of 'Guess Which Page!' I swear, I presented the correct page with the unwavering determination of a seasoned librarian, held it down like I was trying to iron out world peace, and yet, 'Try again' flashed up a solid three times followed by 'Seek assistance'. I went through this a second time just to be sure it wasn't having a bad day. Honestly, it felt like I was negotiating with a particularly stubborn toaster. But, third time's the charm, I guess? Somehow, without any discernible change in my technique, it finally decided to cooperate. At least they've loosened the reins a bit; you get more attempts now, instead of being immediately banished to the human queue after three failures. On the bright side, the Uber pickup in the South Terminal is a genuine revelation. I ordered my ride while still navigating the labyrinthine Orange car park, Level 3, and five minutes later, I was cruising homeward. Maybe the Uber fairies were working overtime, but I'm definitely testing my luck again next time!

Great wetherspoons in north terminal and security very quick

Very well connected airport with the city center - half an hour by train - you get on at point A, get off directly at point B. After the unpleasant experiences at Luton airport, I am pleasantly surprised :)

I’ve never used Gatwick, anyway if you’re going to Dublin it’s the South gates!! So if you end up at the north you get a shuttle. Pack a lunch 🥪 food is expensive that’s if you care? It’s a well laid out spacious airport

Easy Jet staff excellent. Special assistance staff first class. My only gripe is the price of things at the airport.

Low rating purely because we've come through this airport 3 times in the last year and the kids play area has not been fixed (taped off hole in the floor for example) and not improved at all. The play area is dirty, with broken areas and in desperate need of an upgrade (sections broken and unplayable). It's a great idea and a life saver for tired parents, but there really isn't much to play with for the kids and it's really worn out. If it's a cost concern, perhaps consider sponsorship of this area by a kids brand who can fix it up?

Much improved airport now with 2 terminals. Security is fast - they have the new machines so you don’t have to take labtops out etc. a good mix of restaurants and shops in the airport

Parked on valet parking , breezed into the bloc hotel. Dropped bags at twilight check in . Easy trip through. Lots of eateries .. we passed through on what I consider a quiet part of the year. What it would be like in a busy time I can't comment but I was very impressed

Awesome airport! But the immigration line can be very long. When we arrived early morning, we spent around 3 hours to clear the immigration check point.

Absolutely great, easy drop and pick up. No delays and great lounges.

This place is the worst honestly. Not enough seats, not enough restaurants, always rammed with people. No places to charge phones. Always a massive queue for the toilets. They can’t provide amenities to the amount of people they let in. Security is always rammed and slow and full of rude workers. It’s honestly the worst airport.

Usual delays in and out due to staff shortages of ground staff and always overcrowded and busy. All seating is full, all restaurants busy, toilets are rarely clean and special assistance is not a patch on other airports around the world. I use this airport more than once a month, so this review is not based on a single experience..

Best London Airport! 25 minutes from the plane to the train.

Large, well-designed airport, the only downside is reaching the station which is not very well signposted.

The transit from Thames link train onto North Terminal was smooth and untroubled. We caught the 7:15 Thames link from Bedford and was very pleased with journey.

Some people seem to hate their security job (poor woman) and it manifests as rude behavior.😅 other than that it seems like a fine airport

It’s the airport where you are punished for having a family. Every time we fly at Gatwick we are directed to the “family” queue, which takes significant longer. Last time me, my pregnant wife waited and our 2 year old waited for 1 hour at passport control. They always have a single operator for families and the queues take 3 times more, what a disgrace. It’s not the only one, generally UK airports are the only ones that do not prioritise families. It’s worse than third world countries.

What a dump. Had a two-hour wait in the cold (the sliding doors in front of the limited seating never closed) for a coach at the North Terminal. Otherwise, thé airport is dirty and tired looking. What a negative first impression of the UK it gives!

The worst part of my holiday was being in Gatwick airport. The queues to check in were a nightmare - the stress of missing the flight. On return the our baggage got stuck on the conveyor and it took an hour for right "engineer" to free it up. The whole experience in Gatwick was simply awful - never again.

Favourite airport around London! Fast train connections to most major London terminal stations. Security checks are fast and efficient, plenty of options for eating and shopping. Both terminals are well connected via shuttle train. Definitely recommend!

Update 2024 April Lots of new outlets, building work still in progress. Very busy on our visit. Lots of outlets to spend your hard earned money in. Some of the duty free deals are quite good, but we found it cheaper on our TUI flight, example 2 X 1LTR bottles of vodka £20, note this offer may not be available all the time.

Straight forward check in, then through security again straight forward. Duty free has a vast range and there's lots of places to get food and drink.
