Worst airport in the country. Trolleys need coins??? Why???? Parking facilities awful.

Parking prices are extortionate. Paid £6 for a 2-minute drop off. What was that for? Did you collect my luggage? Washed my car? Covered wear and tear for driving on your horrible road surfaces? Definitely in top 3 worst airports for London.

It's just an airport! But the concierge at the Hilton was first-rate...very helpful and polite! And still is!!

Whilst queuing to pay for my items in duty free I could hear a woman shouting repeatedly, we then realised she was shouting at her colleague, and shouting at all of the customers. This was really unprofessional behaviour from Tamzin at the self check outs in North Terminal Duty free on the evening of Friday 29th November 2024. If someone would like to inform her to praise in public and reprimand in private, and also not threaten her colleagues with “I’m telling management”. What the whole queue witnessed there was work place bullying in public, honestly poor guy on the receiving end. Tamzin needs an attitude check. Date of experience: 29 November 2024

Very organized and excellent services especially for Airport Assisted service. My mother who doesn’t speak English has a smooth and fast process

The airport is busy as always. Although it is struggling at times to cope with the large volume of flights, this has a knock-on effect of frequent delays.

Arrived, through passport control, collected luggage and out through customs in about 30 minutes. Not bad.

Not too busy, staff helpful with platform number for my train.. platform waiting areas to escape the 🥶.. Vending machines for snacks, lifts available if escalator not easy to use.. 🚈⚡️

Makes Bristol airport look like a future city. How is this poor quality the 2nd airport of the UK?

Clean and well organized airport. Well connected to the city of London by train. Big flaw is that in 2024, at the controls, they still have to check the liquids and have them put in specific bags. These English people are back!

The staff throughout the airport are very helpful, smiling, very friendly. The airport itself is terrible. Very inconvenient passenger logistics, inconvenient information, "tired". Very expensive everything. The price tag is in European figures, but expressed in pounds. Shocking from unaccustomed!!!!!

Went to collect my daughter. The car parking pantomime is exactly what it is. First car park only went to level 2 . No information stating this end up I the orange car park. Level 1 practically empty . Another level was meet and greet empty again . Another level taken up by a whole row of empty UBER parking spaces. End up on level 5. I reckon I spent at least £7:50 of my parking fee driving round trying to find somewhere to park. The saying, got you by the short and curlies comes to mind . There's no other way to collect someone from the airport. In any other walk of life this would be classed at daylight robbery. Thank you Gatwick parking for turning a simple pick up into a saga

Clear, the staff advises where to go and at the same time the smile is very satisfied compared to others in England, I highly recommend Miras CZ...

Slick operation on arrival this morning. Immigration was efficient and collecting the car from Valet parking was speedy. I do however find the traffic layout too busy and confusing.

Not very good, plane lands waiting to sort air bridge out half an hour at least, then we get off big queue at passport control, lots of check points closed, then get a belt for luggage & had to wait almost an hour for bags to come round, yet other belts had bags starting to come round, with nobody waiting at the belts yet, just poor management, trying to save money, to make more profit.

Large airport with many easy-to-use areas. It is of course the first time that we have received our checked-in suitcase damaged. We immediately went to the relevant office located directly opposite the baggage claim area to report the incident. We filled out a digital form, they took pictures of the damage and told us to send an email to an address they gave us to update us on the progress of our claim.

A bit of chaos in the management of entrances to security checks. Only one functioning escalator forced people into a long queue that stretched across the entire ground floor. The checks were chaotic but after those, everything went smoothly. Food area with supermarket. If there is one thing that is not missing in GB it is eating and drinking.

Delayed flight once again. It's becoming a habit at Gatwick!

Fairly large airport with several shops and fast food outlets inside, there are moving walkways that make it easier to move towards the gate. While waiting for boarding to open, there are some charging stations available for your phone. Very accurate check-in control, I would add to the fact that it is obsolete, with several controls that I have only seen at this airport.

Busy but clean. You can flight for national and international destinations. Thames link train can take you to London city

As a transit hub it's hard to beat, very efficient and modern. As a place where everything is hyper inflated in price, I hate these places ! We did however book the aspire lounge in S Terminal and if I were spending £30 then it offers best value for money. Otherwise, safe with courteous staff

Great facilities and spacious. You have to pay £1 just to weigh your luggage, which I find excessive.

Security incident shut down south terminal for several hours...not impressed

After all the bad press recently about airports in the UK, Gatwick was a breeze. Effective, efficient and easy the 3 E's

I find Gatwick to be a very average to below average airport. It really depends on if you are flying out of the North or South terminal. The North terminal is nicer than the South but equally chaotic and similarly disorganized when it comes to check-in and security processing. There is nothing overly memorable except for the temperature controls in the South terminal. The last time I flew through I could see my breath in the main terminal. It was freezing inside.

It's an airport that's all there is to say.

I haven't been to this airport very often. But I'm happy. Clear. Outside, if they had more covered seating, it would be nice.

In this day and age why would the airport still require passengers to pay a pound for the trolley? International airport seems daft they still require this. It also took over an hour before the baggage belt even started turning.

Incredibly uncomfortable seats only surpassed by the even more uncomfortable benches, no windows in the departure area, no viewing platform, everything seems to be designed to make you pay extra for one of the lounges or go & sit in a cafe' & order food. When I first arrived the departure area was closed & it resembled a homeless shelter more than an airport with people opting to sleep on the floor, rather than the benches designed by a torture specialist. Just awful.

For the Airport I give 5 star but the service which was provided by Air india Staffs was horrible. Need to do something.....about it.

Flight cancelled due to bomb scare. 4 hrs drive wasted now 4hrs back home

Very well served from London but catastrophic organization with hundreds of meters of queue to go through security checks I do not recommend at all

Make sure ask the staff if your flight exists or not, because there is no screen that give the information. This airport it’s like a cemetery, there is no screen that even shows your flight even exists or not, and there is no information desk, is this even an airport?

Excellent airport, with very good communication with the city of London.

I used the valet parking so my car was waiting for me as soon as I got through passport control and baggage collection. Be aware that some of the departure gates are quite a distance from the shops and restaurants.

Gatwick same as always any way to part with you money

Gatwick is a good airport, but many times you have to walk a long time and climb stairs on foot with your luggage. Why don't they use a civilian exit from the plane?

Was really surprised about how organized this place is

Quite big and those in charge of passing the controls honestly treat us like cattle, they don't see us as people, there are plenty of shops, some places to eat, and information panels on both floors. The entry to the plane without any order, the first one who arrives enters. Good connection with train and bus. But at other airports they are somewhat more professional.

Less than a minute from the entrance to the security checkpoint. Absolutely gorgeous.

Great staff as always - helpful rather than bellowing at travellers. The airport always seems clean given the number of people passing through. Nearly all egates working too - not that this is under the airport control.

Love love this airport. Flew into this airport at least three or four times. It's great. So far thankful we have not a problem. Security wasn't long, like we didn't have to take off shoes. We like flying g into this airport great stores and fast to get to your gate. We will fly I to this airport anytime. Trains to get you to the city center right there. Straight shot!

Wow! The new security system! 30 seconds to get to get through security. Yes 30 seconds. Straight through, bags on tray, stand in monitor and through!!!!!!

Lovely and peaceful at 04:00, so far everything had just flowed.

I like this airport in London. It's the best of them all. You can move quickly from the south terminal to the north one using the free shuttle train. You can get quickly to the centre as well. The airport is not too big like Heathrow and not too small like the rest. All shops, cafés, etc. Many domestic and international flights use it.

They tell me to take the trolley on board which didn't even weigh 10kg, I ask if I can take it up with me as I'm afraid they'll damage it! I find it destroyed upon arrival

Airport is very busy, cramped and rundown. Generally facilities are poorly maintained. Currently half of the south terminal has no heating. Reported it and was met with, "yeah its been like that for months". Security and Passport control are quite good, but bag delivery is painfully slow - often >1 hour wait. And don't even get me started on the criminal pickup and dropoff charges! If you can avoid this airport, do it!

Gatwick International Airport is one of the international airports in London A medium-sized airport, beautiful, clean, as if new, and excellent. Frankly, I liked the small size of the airport and the speed of arriving and exiting, despite Heathrow’s crowding and overcrowding. It was possible to arrive in the morning, as it was not crowded, but to be honest, it did not take us a quarter of an hour, or maybe less. Even the customs employee was cheerful and joking, even if he asked us many questions: Why are you coming, where are you going, and for how many days? He asked me for the hotel reservations and address, and asked for a return ticket. The only problem with the airport is that it is an hour and 10 minutes away from central London, with crowds taking a little longer Emirates and Qatar Airlines operate flights to Gatwick Airport, and ticket prices are often lower than Heathrow Airport On departure, the procedures were easy and smooth. There were no customs, exit stamps, boarding clearance, and flight procedures. It was sufficient for stamping and even inspection. It was not crowded, even though it was noon, the peak time. The airport has a simple duty-free shop, but it suffices, frankly. The prices of perfumes there are among the cheapest I have seen There are more than one lounges, I tried one of them, it was nice, but the food is limited, but it is beautiful and elegant In general, any travel I have to London, God willing, will be through this beautiful airport —- For more coverage Snap Travelaq

Looks dated. £1 for a trolley/ cart... the price is fine, but who has a pound coin on hand, especially tourists. Toilets are dirty. It's located in the middle of nowhere so you pay more money in transport costs.

Not the most beautiful airport and a bit confusing... namely that there are 2 terminals and you have to take a small shuttle.

Lots of walking from plane side to immigration plus you need a £1 coin to get a trolley which you get back when you return it (its an awful surprise when trolleys are free at Heathrow), otherwise ok airport.

Use LHR so often and got used to the unfriendly security staff and workers. Imagine my surprise to be actually greeted by friendly security staff and workers, just wish it was on my normal route, instead of a now and then. Great experience.

Handicap bathroom was clean over by the luggage retrieval. The water dispenser outside the toilets need a good cleaning. Helpful staff.

Charging people to drop off their customers is a total rip off! Why should you be charged just to arrive? It's was £5 now it's £6 won't be long before it's £10.

Express pick up car park Level 0 30 mins for £6 enough time for passengers to get from furthest stand through passport control and out through arrivals. Excellent experience when you work out where to wait for your passengers.

The airport is clean, the directions are clear. Very good experience and the staff will help us if necessary but be careful they don't speak French

I felt particularly cold and uncomfortable for the entire journey, but the cabin crew were very courteous.

An average airport. Nothing special.

Good airport. The security check was almost without a queue and passed quickly, there are free bags for liquids up to 100 ml. And they made it very cool that all premium lounges are in one area, you don't need to run and search for different gates.

Not happy with their policy of charging for drop-off. Id driven through the dropoff area while looking for short stay parking, I wasn't even in the zone for 3 mins and I received a fine. It's outrageous they are charging a fiver for less than 3 mins, that's like 100 quid an hr. I appealed the find and it was cancled but these companies need regulating

Rarely use this airport so can't say if my good experience is a fluke

Gatwick airport is good as it gets the only downfall is the short stay drop of stays and pick ups, got a “Fine” and tried to pay online they disregarded my complaint with evidence provided that I tried to pay online and they still issued me the ticket/fine to pay 60£ all they care about is money and nothing else I know it’s a money making scheme but have some sort of consideration when someone has actually tried to pay in advance and their systems were not working of some sort!!!

It's my local Airport as in the South Coast. So much easier to get to for flights than Heathrow for early flights.

Ladies toilets were disgusting and no staff to report too according to my lovely wife

Rip off charge to drop off passengers, literal highway robbery. Even when you use long stay for free drop off it is tricky and at times dangerous to access escape lane in front of Hilton. It’s truly a disgrace and indeed an embarrassment to this country.

Waited 1 hour for the suitcases to come after we left the plane.
