We went to Spalding on this lovely sunny morning to the market. The wonderful and very special Carillon was playing, ringing out across the market place and we popped into the Café on the Square inside the South Holland Centre for a coffee and a late breakfast. Well, nearly lunch! (Breakfast is served until 12 noon). We both had a breakfast brioche. Lincolnshire sausage patty layered with bacon and topped with a fried egg in a large and very delicious brioche bun. Probably not the sort of breakfast for every day (!) but super tasty for a treat - the food was lovely, the staff were so pleasant and helpful and the coffee was very good too. Thank you Courtney and Mike and Bailey. And it was very reasonably priced. You can sit in this 1st floor café and look out over the market place and people watch to your hearts content. Go on - treat yourself to good food, great coffee and a nice relaxing time in The Café on the Square.

I had the best meal at cafe on the square. The atmosphere is so peaceful, the staff are brilliant. Good size portions and good value for money. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now! Carrot and Coriander soup was superb!

Really friendly place to have something to eat and relax. Food is freshly cooked. Comfortable seats, with some armchairs. View over the square. Cannot fault this place.

Been twice since the new owners took over the cafe in the South Holland Centre. The view over the market is nice. The food is very good and would recommend the Breakfast bap. Quality ingredients.

Really polite hard working staff in this newly reopened cafe over looking the market place in Spalding. Great spot on the first floor with panoramic views of the square where you can watch the world go by over a coffee or quality toasted sandwich. Give it a try !

Have been breakfasting at this lovely eatery most Saturdays since it opened. Lovely young ladies take your order at the til & your food is served. I’ve only experienced their breakfasts so far and if that’s anything to go by I’m looking forward to a main meal here soon.

By far the best and most relaxed place to enjoy either a coffee or breakfast in Spalding. The food is amazing, fresh and always cooked to order. The staff are so friendly and polite, nothing is too much for them. Support local you won't be disappointed.

Amazing new cafe in Spalding food is amazing, eggs Benedict are cooked to perfection every time, and the carrot cake in the pic is the best I’ve ever had by a mile. Service and atmosphere is always so welcoming, this is now our regular go to place to eat / drink Try it you won’t be disappointed. Perfect for people watching over the town centre.

Located inside the South Holland Arts Centre, the service is welcoming and warm and happy to accommodate your foodie desires (I'd asked for chicken and bacon in a roll rather than any sauces etc and they happily obliged and IT WAS AWESOME!) Going on a market day, Tuesdays or Saturdays, and you have an opportunity to look out of the beautiful glass window at the town as it busies itself. A big hit for me as it's from the established team of Ayscoughfee Hall/Gardens we know and love but in a slightly different area. A double dose of delight! Since Costa don't have cinnamon anymore for their Chai Lattes, The Cafe On The Square is quickly becoming my go-to spot for a calm atmosphere and l-art-te' (see what I did there?) Fully recommended from a local man.
