Everything about this place is 10/10. Had the falafel pita and it was perfect. The falafel was cooked perfectly- warm and moist 👌 had a chocolate cupcake to go as well. It was warm inside with the heater on and some christmas jazz playing. The server was so sweet; asked me how everything was and offered to get me a fresh cupcake. I’ll definitely be back again :)

A great little spot for coffee & cake right in the heart of Gloucester docks. The cafe is in a wide barge so more space than a narrow boat & the tables are at water level so there' are three steps to negotiate to get in. Having refreshments whilst afloat is a different experience to the norm. Very enjoyable & worth a visit.

Looks good from the outside but unfortunately it's very poor inside. Order at counter, no sign saying how to order, one server who was a bit glum, no glasses with bottled water and eventually was given a dirty glass, then a wet glass and then finally a clean dry one, took a while for the food, oddly the toilet is only for staff and the whole thing just needs improvements which is a shame because it could be really great. Good food and as such you get 3 stars but only just

Update 19/07/24 I have been contacted by the restaurant and offered 13£ off the next order due to my dissatisfaction with original order. I am really happy that they care about their customers and this time I can confirm the food was really good. I had a panini with bacon cheese and brie as well as brownie. Everything was really nice and I appreciate the service. Thank you. ____________________ Ordered through uber eats. Mid flavours, cupcake was absolutely disgusting and judging by the texture it has been sitting there for quite some time. Fries were OK, bit soggy tbh, burger was very mid, had a weird aftertaste and was falling apart.

Been on board for tea and cakes and for an evening meal and both times thoroughly enjoyed. Menu is small but the food was delicious, possibly the best Mediterranean food in the area. Very well priced and filling we’ve already discussed coming again. I had booked through Facebook but it was unexpectedly quiet my worry is that it’s a hidden gem. It’s definitely worth the visit. The gorgeous barge charm paired with the delicious food. It’s the perfect spot for people watching. It’s quiet and a wonderful addition to Gloucester Docks

Great addition to Gloucester, this small floating Cafe has fantastic potential..I've been twice for (great) coffee and basic selection of lovely cakes. However I think the pricing is punchy....I had a delicious Baba Ghanoush and warm pita today. A 'side' but perfect for a light lunch. My husband ordered Lamb Kofta. Very poor value and waited a ridiculous amount of time for a few dressed leaves, two tiny kofta and some cumin flavoured yoghurt. There is so much competition with at least 4 other places serving the same food. No toilets (although directed to use Corretto (??) No bottled water. Lovely lady serving. Great location and wish them luck. Hopefully just teething probs.

This review is being written honestly and genuinely, after a very poor experience. The boat itself is very novel, with interesting decor and a comfortable atmosphere. No problems there. The service left a lot to be desired, though: this is coming from someone who has travelled extensively, and never felt compelled to leave a completely negative online review. On entering, the boat/cafe owner greeted my partner and I by basically instructing me to close the door. 'What do you do when you enter a boat?', she asked loudly whilst glancing towards the entrance, as opposed to breaking her ongoing conversation (seated) with other customers and closing it herself. The word 'please' was not even used, and the lady delivered it in a condescending 'addressing-a-small-child' tone in front of everyone. There was either no sign to suggest that this should be done, or one that wasn't prominently displayed. In the British tradition of politely bearing, we ordered coffee and peppermint tea. The coffee was served with a milk pourer which was not cleaned properly along the lip portion; this was accompanied by a chocolate brownie which had a hair in it. It tasted like a refrigerated brownie which can be purchased in Tesco or other supermarkets; if it was home made, it was one of the worst I have ever had, worthy of inclusion in any building foundation for its impossibly dense texture. In addition, the tables were a bit grubby and not wiped down properly, which was only visible once we had taken our seats. On quietly making our way out (and this, frankly, was the final straw which prompted me to take time out of a busy day to write this review), the owner asked in front of other customers and my partner, 'And what are you going to do on the way out?' In other words, 'Close the door after you'. I obviously needed reminding; a grown man and paying customer, too incompetent to remember to close the door after being instructed the first time. I have never experienced this is all my years of travel. For £6.50, I got: two reminders to close a door in front of other customers and my partner, a sub-par brownie with a hair in it, an unclean milk pourer and poorly-wiped tables.

From hungry swans that tap on the windows to dishes that contain ingredients of "blah-de-blah" this is one of the most unique (and friendly) eaterie experiences in Gloucester. Forget the posh nosh and chain eateries elsewhere on the quays and fill yourself up here on some excellent home cooked food - dishes change with each visit - or a range of delicious butties (I haven't sampled the cakes yet). All locally sourced ingredients and freshly made.Be warned it's not the easiest place to work out how full it is, and if you're not used to narrow boat doors you're in for a treat (if the doors let you in - the frame will attempt to catch your head on the way out - worry not though as the hostess will remind you to duck as you make your exit). The friendly intimate atmosphere means you're unlikely to sit without talking to at least one other patron and customers will happily recommend the latest hot special they are tucking into. Decide to become a regular then you'll even get your own nickname from the owner which you'll never shake - no matter how hard you try.For a light bite or coffee/tea, and a break from the abundance of other cafes with their stock paninis and jacket potatoes on the menu this is well worth the visit. (Just watch your head on the way out).

Brilliant, fun and surprisingly easy to get on and off (I'm over 60, over weight with dodgy knees!) You may be asked to change your choice of seating as the barge needs t to be kept as level as possible. This only started everyone giggling when I commented that I had never realised I could be useful as balast! Staff very nice polite friendly professional with wicked sense of humour but in the right vein. A novel setting on board the Barge, with hot drinks and a small but very good light meal choice, all presided over by the very welcoming and efficient lady host. The intimate size of the barge helped to create an atmosphere of friendly chat amongst the customers which added to the ambience. My friend Kim and I were strolling around Gloucester Docks and stumbled across this little gem on our way to the designer outlet. It's a proper narrow boat and we couldn't resist stopping for tea and cake. As we entered the boat, two other customers came down the steps too. It was almost closing time but the delightful owner made us all feel so welcome and that there was really no rush. Our tea and cake were excellent (very reasonable too) and we enjoyed a chat with the other visitors. The owner says this happens all the time (strangers chatting to each other). If I lived nearer I would definitely book the whole boat for a tapas night. Bookings are taken for five to eleven people and you get a selection of Spanish tapas made while you wait. You can bring your own booze (no corkage fee) although the chef requires a glass of wine! We found the designer outlet much-improved (last time lots of shops had closed) and I will certainly be back to revisit the shops and this lovely place.

Having debated whether we could get aboard we were so glad that we did. We were made to feel very welcome and the cafettieres of coffee and chocolate brownie were delicious. It made such a lovely change from the corporate coffee chain experience and we shall definitely visit again soon.

We were walking around the dock and saw some narrow boats. we wondered what it was like to be in one, when we walked around a bit further we noticed one that was turned into a floating cafe, so we were about to find out first hand.We were surprised how much room was inside, after getting on board we were greeted by a nice chatty young woman who made us feel very welcome and served up some nice tea and cake which went down well. She made us feel like friends not customers and we really enjoyed the visit so went back the next day after walking around the nearby shopping complex.A very nice experience and a very nice lady who runs it.Well done for your hospitality. much appreciated.

Three generations of the family attended my 50th birthday celebration - a tapas night. The quality of the food was fantastic as was the quantity, the plates just kept on coming. Great 'boat' cooked food. Would thoroughly recommend this experience - we even popped back the next day for coffee and cake!Great value for money. Great atmosphere and entertainment, thanks Vanessa.

If you're into the world of lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, mochas & other coffee based corporateness (& I'm not decrying them) then this won't be for you. If you crave something different & a bit more unusual this is definitely for you. Very nice small menu - it's a narrow boat remember - well prepared & presented it's just a very lovely & unusual place to have a cuppa or light lunch. Very welcoming, everywhere spotless and a really nice atmosphere. Brilliant!

I visited with my husband and children aged 6 and 4. We were strolling around the docks and my four year old son begged to go on the one of the boats. After explaining that we couldn't we happened upon this lovely cafe. A sign at the entrance said that well behaved children were welcome and so we went in. We had a chocolate brownie each and a drink each. A couple next to us had the most scrummy looking sandwich but we had already eaten. (Such a shame!) Our children were very well behaved and as such felt very welcome by both staff and the other clients. Being a narrow boat space was very limited but there were tables outside if you want space anyway. When it came to paying I was expecting to pay over the odds due to the area and the novelty of the location but I was pleasantly surprised and the bill was very reasonable. The owner (I think) was also a welcome addition to the atmosphere with her quirky, friendly personality.

Stopped here for a cup of coffee during a brief stop. It looked much more interesting than the usual chain coffee shops aoud so we thought we would give it a go.The "owner" is very entertaining and certainly gives character to the place. Nice coffee and very nice cake. Would certainty go back. If you can't get on board the barge then there are table on the quayside.

My husband and I have wanted to try this narrow boat cafe in the docks for a long time so, whilst visiting the Food Festival at Gloucester Quays, we decided to do so. We were pleasantly greeted by the lady owner who took our order for a cream tea for us to share and two ordinary coffees. The scone was beautifully fresh (it comes from a bakery) and served with the usual jam and fresh cream. The coffees were lovely too. There was a very enticing 'guilty' board with three or four types of cakes on but, unfortunately, as we were going out in the evening we didn't feel we should indulge as we knew we wouldn't have been able to manage our meal out that night. We did linger for quite a while after finishing due to talking to another couple but at no time, even though a couple of other people entered the barge, did we feel pressured to leave to free up space which, obviously, as it's a narrow boat is limited. We asked for the bill and were surprised to see that it was only £6.00 which to us seemed extremely good value; especially when comparing to the usual chain coffee shops, and you'll find the portion size of the scone is larger too!Would recommend if you want to try something away from the norm.

We stopped for a quiet cup of tea in the lovely narrow boat in Gloucester quay. We were persuaded by the Sin board to enjoy a slice of carrot cake. All was lovely, can't wait to go again.

Visiting Gloucester, went in for lunch. Girl on counter friendly, and looked at vegan options for one of us. Ended up with soup of the day which was great, generous portions. Good coffee. Great cosey feel to the place, dog friendly. Would highly recommend.
