The Cavern is a real gem in Gloucester. The decor is super stylish, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and smiling, which really adds to the experience. The food and drink are top quality—I highly recommend the muffins, which were amazing! What makes The Cavern even better is its support for the local community. It’s not just a café; it’s a place where you can unwind, enjoy some games (we had a blast playing Jenga!), and have a great time with friends. It’s the perfect spot to sit, relax, and enjoy some downtime. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Really friendly, welcoming place. Open 363 days a year and open to everyone. They have some games you can play and cheap (non-alcoholic) drinks. It really feels like a wonderful establishment offering much-needed support to the local community.

Great place to play Yugioh in Gloucestershire!! I play yugioh at the Cavern, they do weekly tournaments and open duel events for casual play. I have tried a few other places in Cheltenham, Stroud and other stores in Gloucestershire, but I like the friendly community here. Everyone is really welcoming, whether you're a new player or a returning player. They have cheap prices on packs and structure decks, and I like how they offer a variety of yugioh events to keep things interesting.

Delicious and welcoming Wow how on earth have we not come accross this before, looking for somewhere to eat on a busy Saturday with pride, rugby and the your of Britain in the city we walked a little further the normal to find somewhere to eat with space amd here we found the Cavern working with adults with varying different abilities and difficulties I was excited to findout what the Cavern was all about. It's more then just a cafe/ restaurant it's a safe place to relax , a venue of many talents and really has it all. The menu was brilliant has lots and lots of choice and even a specials board too where we chose the mac and cheese with garlic bread at just £5. The food was absolutely amazing, came quick and hot and most definitely a service with a smile. It's worth mentioning the coffee too this was some of the best coffee I've had in Gloucester! Was there anything to pick out that could be better at such a great venue well maybe there where a few areas that could do with a good clean but it's moat certainly wasn't anything to take away form this epic venue and the worm they do. This is now my favourite go to spot for food and a drink. Thanks the Cavern and please pass on all my thanks to the team on Saturday 9th Couldn't wait to return so went back today 16th /9/23 they where very acomadateing with a meal request we had and sorted it, we also had to pannis that came with crisps and salad it was super tasty sorry we didn't get a photo but can recommend the halloumi, bacon and chilli jam one !

One of my favourite places to eat since I was in college! The concept of the Cavern is something I personally believe in and the location has a huge impact on the community. It is a welcoming place to all kinds of people and gives great opportunities to those working there. The atmosphere is lovely and the decorations are very interesting, informative and embrace the rich history of Gloucester, music and other topics. The food is very cheap, if not under-priced for what you get! I always opt for a ham and cheese panini and a can of something sweet, the portions are filling and made with a great deal of love. The Cavern offers a lot of niche events and it's space to the community, of note I often see a local ukulele group practicing in the far back and it brings a new level of enjoyment to my meal. I will to continue to always support the Cavern, as will others, and hope to see it continue to flourish and impact local people's lives.

The Cavern in Gloucester is one of a kind. To a lot of people just passing by it is a very pleasant social cafe with reasonably priced food and non-alcoholic drink. The reality is that The Cavern is so much more than that. This is a place that is non-judgemental and focuses on inclusion for everyone. It has a lot of regular attendees including myself, many of which have mental health issues and/or some form of disability. The staff here (who are absolutely amazing) have a varied and wide understanding of mental health and what makes this place unique is that anyone can attend in the evening to talk to a member of staff about any issues in an informal and discrete way. Whilst staff are available anytime during the day there is a designated "support" area in the evenings which anyone can make use of. There are also various activities which The Cavern put on including an informal karaoke on a Sunday evening with mixed abilities of singers taking part. You don't have to be a good singer as you will not be judged, it's all about taking part. The Cavern has had a couple of bad reviews where it has been pointed out that there has been drug use and anti-social behaviour. Some of which may be true, however please bear in mind that some people who attend The Cavern may have mental health issues and conditions that may not be physically visible. The Cavern does not judge and is open to everyone. If The Cavern wasn't so inclusive, then where would these people go? On the streets being "Antisocial"? Getting involved in criminal activity? The safe space that The Cavern provides encourages people to attend and seek advice and support from a friendly staff team as well as other regular attendees who feel that The Cavern has a real family feel to it. Drug use is strictly prohibited and is challenged immediately. Whilst I accept that The Cavern may not run smoothly 100% of the time, I also know that the staff do everything that they can to support everyone who needs it. They are all very approachable and have the respect of people who feel able to open up to them about their problems and struggles. The Cavern is a safe space for everyone and if it was to ever close then Gloucester would lose a very valuable asset to the city.

Yugioh at cavern has improved dramatically since I last went there in 2020. Keep it up the host Victoria is very kind I hope she is in charge of all activities there as she seemed very in gaged in the job. Everyone else didn’t seem like they knew what was going on in the establishment. Victoria said as multitasking making sure people got the right food and drink orders and that there was no plastic in there. Honestly I thought she was the manager and am supprised she isn’t. Overall I fell if the cavern listen to her more they will go far in both there yugioh department and cafe department.

If you want internet or food, skip it. They do not have hot food, only snacks and drinks. You can bring in real food but they request you buy snacks and drinks from them. The staff were friendly and helpful. We picked this place as it looked cozy and we needed somewhere to get internet. It is a little bit hidden as you go down an alley, around a corner, through a hallway and down some stairs. There are signs indicating this so you shouldn't have any problems. If you are coming here after dark, pull out your phone and turn on the flashlight as the alley is not well lit. We purchased some drinks and found a place to setup our laptops. The wifi requires a code, which you get at the counter from an employee, and is good for 1 hour for 1 device. We each have a phone and a laptop, so we need 4 codes and having to punch in 12 unique digits into 4 devices every hour, is not fun. You need to put a timer on as they internet will just stop working suddenly when the hour is up. From our understanding there have been people hanging out, using their facilities but not supporting the place so they are trying to curb this behavior. However, having to get little pieces of paper every hour or so is a pain point for customers who do support them. It looks like they also blocked the outlets from use as well to curb use of their place. There just has to be a better way. Possibly a £3/hour/person charge to use their place which is also credit for their food? Or limit the internet to 3 hours without requiring a code. Then after the 3 hours, you need to request a code? There seems like so many other options available to reduce friction and encourage patronage. I really wanted to love this place but in the end it was more hassle then it was worth.

Overall an odd cafe. It is targeted towards a very niche crowd so we felt a bit out of place being in there. I did really like the concept of the cafe, so plus points for that. It is targeted to vulnerable youths and they also offer volunteer employment opportunities to anyone to help people get work experience - love it! However it's definitely not your regular cafe. There are hot drinks and a small selection of cake and biscuits, but that's it. All the food is sweet and there is no hot food available, though they do allow outside food brought in. We went here as we were looking for a cosy cafe to sit for a few hours and use wifi, and order some food and drinks during that time. However there was no food to order and the wifi is only available by punching in a different access code every hour. I found this odd and it made us feel like we were only welcome to stay for 1 hour. And then as we didn't want to be eating sweet food the whole time, we found it difficult to spend money here to feel like we were adequately giving back to the cafe enough for use of their internet. We did receive decent service and the drinks were ordered were delicious. I also liked the Christmas specials drink options like caramel gingerbread flavour milkshake.

The A board pointing towards the cavern gave enough information to make this somewhere we wanted to go. What made the visit more worthwhile is the charitable nature of the cafe. Quirky venue with rock, indie and punk music and very friendly staff and customers. The drinks and cakes are great value for money. We bought milkshakes - a medium was £2 and a mini one was just 80p! This venue is part of a social enterprise for people with learning difficulties and doubles as a support venue at night for people with mental health issues. They also have live music nights.
