I love it there I go all the time and is lovely coffee and cakes and food ant good prices for all of it I wod recommend it to you

The cafes in Fenwicks are overpriced, so I decided to try the Caffe Nero franchise, actually the first time I've visited a Caffe Nero. Main thing to praise them on is a large coffee is very large, and £3.85 is probably typical for a city centre cafe. and it tasted OK. Like Costs Coffee, an average sort of place and the cake I had to accompany my coffee was rather hard and looked better in the display than it tasted.

Staff were very quick, professional and absolutely delightful, which is suprising given the temperature of the restaurant. Apparently the aircon (clearly fitted throughout the restaurant, hence I asked) broke several years ago and the company never bothered to fix it. Disgraceful. I would stay away until winter at least.

We went on Saturday 14th Oct. It was busy and my husband queued while I found a table. It was full of dirty crockery from the previous occupants so I cleared it myself and found a waitress to wipe the surface. We had two sandwiches, a coffee and a hot chocolate - all items were completely tasteless, the coffee just watery milk and we noticed the bread was only buttered on on slice, so I asked the same waitress for some mayonnaise to be told they had none, I explained the sandwiches were tasteless and needed butter to be told I could have butter but would have to pay for it!! She was completely disinterested and couldn't have cared less. I watched her work and she didn't even have the common sense to realise what using a tray could bring to her life!!!! Does nobody train the staff to smile and give the customer what they want anymore?

Café Nero is very near the metro but warm as inside Fenwick (in basement). The staff are smiling and they make divine coffee. They are also good at getting me my large glass of ice before I have asked for it. Know that you are all really appreciated. Kindest regards, “Susanna”

Absolutely disgusting service received yesterday morning first thing. Arrived just as they opened there where 5 of us. One of our party explained quite clearly what we wanted. The most miserable girl ever served us she had absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever she got one of our orders wrong and threw the wrong order in the sink. She should never have been employed by the coffee shop especially as its customer facing. There are so many people in Colchester absolutely desperate for a job perhaps the company should employ somebody who gives a dam. How on earth she got the job i’ll never know, but what l do know is they have lost 5 customers who spent quite a lot when visiting.

Visited Caffe Nero Fenwicks store 1/3/23. I feel Fenwicks should review the floor space allocated to this abysmal excuse for a coffee shop. Queue was long but the 3 staff working were oblivious to us as they tried to empty the till/search for change etc. The girl on till had no idea what she was doing ...barista had to keep stopping making the drinks to show till girl ...dishes chap was then given an envelope to go and find change ..he'd never done this before so barista attempted to go leaving enormous queue and untrained till operator!!!! I intervened and asked why they were so disorganised and trying to train staff etc at such a very busy time ...to be told by cup boy "excuse me calm down they were busy"!!!!!!! The queue behind me were shocked. We left...never again!!!

Staff in coffee shop need a bomb under them and some customer service training. Asked lady cleaning tables (pink hair) where the serviettes were and her response was I don't have serviettes. I tried to explain I didn't expect her to have them but was asking where they were. She replied the counter but when I said there weren't any with the sugar, stirrers, etc she told me to ask the serving staff. No attempt to be pleasant or helpful. Place is half empty but still a queue at counter with two baristas who talk to each other but not customers other than asking for order. Later, whilst sitting drinking coffee one came round with a panini and asked me if I'd ordered a sandwich. I could have said yes and taken it. He'd have been none the wiser.

Came in this morning with mum after getting off the metro. Can't remember the young man's name. (Blond hair, ponytail(. Absolutely lovely. Very friendly. Cafe was spotlessly clean. Would definitely get a coffee here again.

This morning we went to the cafe and I was very furious and devastated by the members of staff behavior it was absolutely disgusting and sicking. I would fully recommend to anyone who is reading this review is go to another cafe in Fenwick so that you don't face the same horrific treatment as I did.

While having a coffee for the first and last time here, we watched people leave dirty tables and no staff removed dirty trays or cleaned tables before other customers did it for them and took the dirty cups back. Absolutely appalling considering staff brought out and delivered food orders and went back empty handed. Who trains these people let alone so called covid cleaning procedures which are clearly ignored.

I’ve a habit of getting off the metro and diving in here…the coffee at Neros has always been the best of all the big chains and never disappoints.

If I could give this place negative star rating I would! There is no organisation within queing staff most certainly aren't social distancing from customers or each other. Masks are all below noses yet they preach to customers regarding masks! Definitely a lesson in customers services is welcomed at this store! Totally disappointed for a Nero store. Especially the attitude coming from the girl with dark hair.

Not COVID precautious at all. The girl with the black hair did not have a mask on and kept touching her face. She would take off her mask to speak to customers. The other man working wore a mask and kept touching it. Super unsanitary and unprofessional.

Good tea and coffee, excellent Danish pastry. It was busy but service was quick and we sat for some time chatting and didn’t feel under pressure to leave.

Went to have a drink at Cafe Nero in the Fenwick store. Wanted a milkshake as it was a hot day, but £3.55 for a piddly 200ml of strawberry nesquik. Dumb.

Went here for a quick cuppa when we just arrived in newcastle was lovely. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Thanks

I have found the staff at Café Nero within Fenwick is unfailingly welcoming, polite and kind even when working under extreme pressure. I tend to hold an Italian conversation group there as well meeting friends as it is warm and the coffee is very good. I go there several times a week. I particularly like: the vegan salads when they are in stock;the apricot croissant;the oat bar;and the £1.10 milk chocolate bar. Nothing remarkable about this outlet. A strange and strong disinfectant smell hung around which was quite unpleasant. Seating was ok. Service with a smile? Not exactly.

Popped in early morning before work for an hour and noticed the lovely calm atmosphere immedailty...the staff were pleasent and welcoming, the coffee strong, plenty of vegan milk options too. Nice place to relax. 👌🏻☕

Mi hijo y yo tropezamos con este lugar mientras buscamos maletas de repuesto para nuestro viaje. Era el único lugar que habíamos encontrado hasta ahora en Inglaterra que realmente entendió lo que quería decir cuando queríamos un café (EE. UU.). En todos los demás lugares en que estuvimos en Londres, Chester y Newcastle lo llamaron Americano. Luego, ella también preguntó si queríamos leche o crema. CREMA, sí, ella dijo crema. Una vez más, no pudimos obtener crema en ningún lugar hasta ahora en Inglaterra en nuestro "café", solo leche. Así que finalmente tomamos un café con crema. Regresé aquí después de un año más o menos y disfruté de mi visita. El café era excelente y había la variedad habitual de magdalenas frescas, pasteles, tartas, etc. para acompañarlo. El servicio fue amable y eficiente. El lugar en sí está en la planta baja de la tienda, por lo que está escondido en un sótano, pero está decorado y amueblado. Es un rincón acogedor para disfrutar de un descanso para tomar café si se encuentra en la tienda y no le importa no tener una vista panorámica.

No soy tacaño, solo son 50 p, pero seguramente se puede servir un poco de crema como acompañamiento del pastel de chocolate sin cargo.El shortcake de caramelo era la mitad del tamaño que tenían hace 3 semanas, la próxima vez tendré que conseguir dos.El servicio fue rápido y el personal es amable, buen ambiente y ubicación para una copa rápida.Americano tiene un buen sabor, una de las mejores copas de la ciudad.

Fuimos aquí para tomar algo rápido y comer algo, pero no puedo recomendarlo. Pedimos nuestras bebidas y, a la mitad de hacerlas, les entregamos la comida que necesitaba calefacción. El hecho de que la comida calentada llegara a la mesa ANTES de que las bebidas estuvieran listas dice todo sobre la velocidad del servicio. La comida y las bebidas estaban bien, pero eran caras, así que no recomendaría este lugar.

Visited here for a coffee break during our 2nd day of shopping we had carrot cake and it was delicious

Pop in for coffee good products as always , but found staff very rude , not sure if I would be in a hurry to visit again soon , we live in Northumberland and visit Berwick Neros often staff there cant do enough for you

Estaba en un viaje de compras con mi hija adolescente y amigo y tenía una muy agradable sentarse con un café en el café Nero. La chica que servía el café era muy bonito como era el hombre que estaba ajustando antes de cerrar. Fue sólo cuando llegamos al aeropuerto nos dimos cuenta de nuestro teléfono fue dejado en un asiento. Intentamos calll pero estaba cerrado, así que como te puedes imaginar, no eran felices conejitos en el avión. Un montón de recuerdos y contactos y no mencionar un teléfono caro! Esta mañana sonó primero y Director encantador llamado Andy efectivamente tenía el teléfono y ha organizado con seguridad a. Gracias Andy por poner sonrisa en nuestras caras.

Se detuvo a un café con algo agradable. Cuando mi bollo resultó ser difícil fue cambiado sin ningún problema. Cuando el segundo no era mejor, la misma historia, cambiado por algo diferente no hay problema, con incluso algunas dinero reembolsado, porque el otro era un poco más barato. Servicio de atención al cliente, muy impresionante que soy la primera en admitir. Pero a ello se añade. . . . . Quizás las cosas viejas no debería haber sido dejado en la estantería en primer lugar? ?

A nice little cafe to pop into when shopping in Newcastle. Nice range of drinks and decent range on sandwiches and cakes, although choice can be less as the day goes on. Try the chocolate cheesecake!!

Excelente ubicación y primer lugar visitado cuando en el centro de la ciudad. El personal siempre es amable, la comida y el café excelente, selección de buena música. relajante ambiente muy tranquilo.

Tiendo a mantenemos alejados de las cadenas, pero mañana temprano encontré Cafe Nero! Una tremenda diseño... Realmente me gustó el interior. Personal muy amable y un gran café. Volveré. ¡Bien hecho!

This Cafe Nero is tucked away in the basement of Fenwicks so only convenient if you are in the store. That said, its location has advantages - it can be quieter than similar stores in the busy streets. Seats are comfortable but it can feel very crowded in there as it is quite a small shop. Coffee is on a par with other Cafe Nero outlets - good and hot. The range of snacks to go with it is the same as elsewhere in this chain and prices are average for cafes of this kind. I found service perfectly OK but as a whole I prefer a lighter, more airy place for a casual stop.

Came here for the first time today, wasn't aware of it being inside Fenwicks but decided to drop in after being around town for a couple of hours. It was nearly full to capacity but it doesn't have that sense of being overcrowded, except at the till, but people are queuing up quite regularly for service here.Nothing really inspiring about the place. It's very much out of the way of your travels unless you make a concious decision to go to Café Nero. And that's both its advantage and disadvantage. You have to take the journey down into the basement of Fenwicks to go, but the result is that you're somewhere much quieter than your average coffee shop, but there finishes the one distinctive quality.Otherwise the food and drink are on par with what you would get somewhere else, the service is generally uninspiring at best, possibly due to fatigue at the late hour I came into it, and the seating I would describe as comfy but clustered, with not much room between you and your neighbour, but with careful negotiation, you can make enough to make it functional.Recommendation: Only visit if you're in Fenwicks, otherwise go somewhere else.

The only reason I went here again is because it tends to be quieter (customer-wise) than other coffee shops on a Saturday. Some staff still need more training on basic customer service - no please or thank you and no attempt to greet us when we approached the till.

Normally very good. There is one waitress who has a real attitude problem and puts a damper on a visit. Twice I've been and my order has been wrong and when I've brought it back to the counter and explained she just looks at me or tells me to go to the back of the queue. Why would I have to go to the back of a queue I've already waited through only to be given the wrong order??

This outlet in Fenwick's basement makes for a good pit stop on a busy Saturday afternoon. Tends to be quieter as a little tucked away. Staff responded positively to our request for two flat whites, which weren't ordinarily on the menu. Thumbs up.

Visited lunchtime on Saturday 26th July 2015. Sat in sunny window with friend. Nice coffee, however shared chocolate muffin was rather dry. Good for people watching-you know who you are...

Situated at the new entrance to the Eldon Square shopping centre,Next to M & S this coffee shop is ideally located if you are shopping in the centre of town, There were plenty of seats available and the prices were reasonable. The service was good and quick. We were served by a trainee Barista named Lily. She was very friendly, helpful and a credit to the establishment

Dreadful. Everything felt dirty.How can't staff think to appoint even one person to come to the seating area outside the cafe in the Metro Centre before there is no longer half an inch of space on ANY table. It certainly didn't ADD to the enjoyment of our drinks.

Pleasant service, good coffee and cakes, pay attention to cutlery unfortunately not the cleanest :/ but staff swapped it over and apologised no problem

Great location which on a Saturday wasn't as busy as I expected. The staff were really nice friendly and chattyThe slight downside was a regular latte was tiny or seemed tiny, perhaps it was me.The toilets needed an Everest like ascent up a tiny winding staircase. But the place was nice comfortable and great to watch the world go by.

Wow my friends and i came here for a special treat and wow were we amazed at the quality of the food and the quaint service,they could not have bettered it at all.The selection was awesomely filling and the staff were attentive but not intrusive and that was a welcome change and well done the management and staff training was a pleasure for us 3.My friends go out pretty regular around the region and said that was the best ever afternoon tea they had ever experienced and we will all be back with friends.The welcome was inviting and pleasant,as if you were about to experience a special treat and boy did we too,was awesome and made the special treat that extra special.Can't praise to food nor the staff quality enough we will be back with more friends for sure and thank you all for making this special occasion extra special too

Good place to meet a friends for a cuppa as I did this week at Haymarket branch.Huge cuppa (same price as for smaller size) and a latte for my friend.Staff are really nice too.

Lovely place to have a good latte machiatto, next to debenhams. Again a bit crowded but it's the centre, isn't it? Great coffee and free wi-fi for those who are hooked to their mobiles or tablets.
