Both me & my partner have raved about this place in the past especially as an eat In restaurant. However the last 2x takeaways have lacked in quality. Both recent curries we’re very watery, lacking in meat & arrived cold (we live less than 10 mins away) Food wise the food as always been of an higher standard, it’s just the last two curries didn’t hit the standard bar already set by this place. Hopefully it’s been down to Covid & possibly a stand in chef? Maybe who knows. Shall review again in 2022.

Not something i normally do , but our meal tonight was terrible we both had biryani. When i plated up i knew it was nt good rice was all clumping together, very stoggy. No flavour ,sauce also not pleasant . We have had many biryani dishes as its the husband favourite ,so i feel we are able to judge fairly. Will not order again

Just ordered a home delivery and arrived well within the stated time, I’d phoned the restaurant to ask regarding gluten-free choices and was informed and felt extremely delighted with the information about food getting cooked separately etc, the food we ordered was very tasty and very much enjoyed, we will definitely be ordering again

Rogan josh tasted like a madras but with a few bits of tomatoes thrown in. Mango chutney was like water and kebab was tough. Not good all round

The lady who delivered was very polite food was warm just unhappy I ordered vegetable Massala and got chicken instead I had to throw the curry away as I’m vegetarian so wasn’t very happy but the rest was ok

Never actually been inside the restaurant but we always order our takeaways from here as we were recommended by a friend. And im glad we were! Usually spot on. Weve had maybe 1 not so great meal out of a lot of orders now. so all in all a great place!

24 hrs early order for 5pm Sunday camev5pm sat

Food was missing items and then had to call restaurants. When received the missing items one hour and half later and bread wasn’t cooked.

Chicken shashlik was average with no tomatoes or peppers, just shrivelled up onion skins. Chicken was cooked well and peshwari naans were also nice. No issues with being slightly late for a Saturday night.

Sauce slightly thinner for my liking but food was still very nice. I enjoyed it.

Visited 19/09/21. Staff were very pleasant indeed but the food was very mediocre. I spent £25.95 on three meals. Chicken madras was mediocre & pilau rice tasteless. Garlic Murgh chicken was again mediocre but OK nothing special but the boiled rice was very nice. I ordered tandoori chicken main. This was supposed to be served accompanied by salad but I didn’t get any salad. It was also supposed to be served with a vegetable curry - I asked if I could have just a curry sauce instead. They said that would be no problem but I came away with nothing. I ordered poppadoms. They were very generous with the poppadoms but they tasted rancid so went straight into the dustbin! We’ll never go back.

The food is usually pretty good from Cafe India, but we are pretty disappointed this time we ordered the lamb korma and it was incredibly watery. Delivery was around 45 mins late after calling and asking for an update

Great food and speedy delivery

Food was amazing. Had the chicken shaslik to start and chicken rogan josh for the main. Chicken was really tender and everything was piping hot and really tasty. Haven’t ordered from here for a while but will definitely be back very soon!

Ordered at 18.30hrs arrived 20.20hrs barely warm and bland. Tasted like it had been driven around for a few hours or it had been warmed up from yesterday :( If you can't get the basics right, theres no hope. Quality seems to have gone, just boxing up mush that gets delivered very late. Won't be making this mistake again.

Recently moved to the area and we were so happy to find a Family run restaurant. The food was beautiful and staff were friendly and professional! We even got to meet the chef afterwards! We will definitely be coming back

Starters and biyani tasty and plentiful. Unfortunately bombay aloo and saag aloo were awful. Naan breads also really doughy and undercooked. Food came earlier than the predicted 45 mins.

Placed order and almost immediately received a phone call asking if they could deliver early, which was ok with us. Food arrived and was excellent-very enjoyable meal!

I had chicken tikka masala and the chicken was dry and overcooked and the sauce was tasteless, but arrived hot. The rest of the food was cold.

Myself and my friend just put our food we ordered in the bin. It was not hot, and the food was watery and lumpy. Some of it was undercooked and we hope we do not get unwell from the bit we did eat. I am sorry to have to be so negative but this order was a waste of money and we are left hungry. I ordered from here because in the past the food was so delicious and could not be faulted but now... I do not recommend it at all. I feel worse because I convinced my friend to try this.

Ordered a takeaway this evening and it did not disappoint. Delivered so quickly, and super delicious as always. Although we cannot eat in the beautiful restaurant, the quality is still there ad we cannot wait until we can dine in again. Food was piping hot and full of flavour, top quality meals. If you haven't tried a curry from here you definitely have to as there is no one in this town that cooks meals like this place.

All the food was very watery. Sauce just dripped off the Naan bread.

Food came on time but the curry was really tasteless. I couldn’t eat it. Thankfully I bought a peshwari naan and popadoms with chutney so I didn’t go hungry.

The wrong order arrived 30minutes after expected. I called the restaurant and they told be a fresh meal would be sent. The driver arrived with my order and advised she had just been to collect it from the house she had delivered it to! They were just going to swap the meals. I accept mistakes happen but to allow food to be handled by another household especially in this pandemic and then expect me to wat it. Eventually they agreed to cook mine from fresh. From ordering to receiving it was almost 3 hours.

Almost 1hr 45 min late with no updates. One of the main dishes was wrong. No apology when delivered.

Still haven’t received the order after ringing the restaurant saying they’d be ten minutes about an hour ago

Ordered two curries one just the sauce but came with cauliflower peas sweetcorn and carrot in🤢 so that went in the bin and a rice went to waste as couldn’t eat one of the curries. Couldn’t be bothered to ring up as I don’t want to eat on my own when my partners was alright and he ate his.

This was a disgrace in all aspects. Wife and I went there on Xmas Eve before lockdown 1. Tables not well spaced out as per government recommendations 2.In current pandemic would expect all staff to wear masks/visors- none did 3. Food was awful- slopped on plate, instead of presented in usual manner in a bowl, much hotter than menu indicated,no delicacy just excess curry powder or chilli. 4 a group of about 10 youths piled in and were all huddled together on a big table- spacing laws disappeared 5 After meals which we left we just needed to get home. In paying bill we were told their card machine was broken and they wanted cash- yeah right!! Why were we not told that on entry not departure?nobody there was concerned that we left food!! This was a cash in exercise before Tier 3 lockdown measures introduced! 6 No track or trace-no safety measure imposed Dreadful experience!!!!!

Great service and food as always

Starter of Lamb was overcooked and swimming in oil. Keema Nan had no mince in it and was basically a plain Nan. Vegetable rice required seasoning.

Food was nice but wait time was unacceptable

With lockdown 2.0 now underway, it's hard not being able to go out to our favourite restaurant, but are so happy that take away service has been able to continue. The food was excellent as always and delivered in no time at all. Absolutely gorgeous curries full of flavour we thoroughly enjoyed it. Very much looking forward to being able to eat in again but until then take away will keep us going. An absolute must try if you haven't already, the owners are wonderful and take such pride in their food, everything fresh and nothing too much trouble, and always catering to my sons dietary needs. Thanks so much for a wonderful curry!

Once again a lovely experience from booking on the app so easy and then a very fast response and then when we arrived our request for a private booth was accommodated. The service was excellent and the food superb. Thank you for being a family run establishment which is difficult to find nower days. I love the carpet which has cafe india woven into the design when you arrive at the door just follow the stairs up you will not be disappointed and ask for a booth and the twinkly lights so welcomining can't wait to see you again keep up the great work there are few places like yours anyone reading this reveiw know its genuine I travel and eat out a lot give this place a try if you like great Indian food .Also an added bonus you can bring your own alcohol xx

We had a lovely meal here last night, with personal recommendations for a curry right for us. Got to try new flavours, and even walked away with a jar of our own spicy chutney as a gift from the head chef. You will not be disappointed with this little family-run restaurant.

Was disappointed with the delivery time as was nearly 2 hours from ordering, I called the restaurant and they sounded like they didn't know what was going on really but they were polite however when food finally arrived it was hot and tasty. I am.a little put off due to delivery times but I would order again just alot earlier next time. Thank you.

We ordered at 18.30 for delivery due at 19.20 at 19.40 we contacted just eat and updated time was 20.00 . At 20.10 we called cafe India to be told it was just leaving at 20.45 we received our meal. It was cold and the sheikh kebab was not cooked, and the chicken in both meals was pink . Would definitely not order again

Booked a table for 2 tonight when you arrive you see the lovely carpets with cafe india logo proceed upstairs and you are welcomed by a warm glow of twinkling lights. Sumptuous furnishings leather seats . Clean fresh and co vid Frrindly. Family owned and run mum dad and dao. We have tried all the Indian restaurants in little sutton and this is the best . Absolutely loved our meal here last night ... one of the best Indian meals we’ve had. We were served by Sadia, and her parents own the restaurant with her dad doing the cooking ... lovely family and Sadia was genuinely engaging & lovely to talk to, as well as making recommendations which suited our palate / preferences perfectly :-) I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, just wish that we didn’t stay in Glasgow so that we could visit again!

We havnt used cafe India for a couple of years ,due to waiting 3 hrs for a takeaway on one occasion, and the lady on the the phone was very rude after us calling 3 times Decided to try again after all this time and credit due the food was lovely

Fantastic staff! Fantastic service! Fantastic food! The staff were able to add 2 people to the booking last minute without any problem, and we’re extremely welcoming and friendly, the young waitress was very helpful in offering her advice and insight to all the amazing food on the menu, The food came out in Huge potions and was absolutely Devine! All the Family came to offer there welcomes which was very friendly and it felt like a real Comfortable, homely place. Not to mention the Decor and layout is stunning. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again!

Staying at a local lodge and googled local restaurants - cafe india popped up and we fancied a curry so tang to book a table. Free car park next door, restaurant is upstairs, when you walk in it feels really welcoming. The food, oh my goodness, the best curry me and my boyfriend have had in a long long time. Fabulous service, such a nice family run business. We thought it was really wonderful that the chef came out to introduce himself and for a chat - genuinely have spoken to our friends about visiting there when we are next in the area as we really aren’t local! Definitely definitely worth a visit! Thank you guys xx

Worst food I've had, all chutney were watered-down could taste the water in the mint one, they was well runny, my main was way to hot I only have a korma as do not like it to spicy like the other half but was way to hop as if they dropped a couple of Chiles in my meal, Will never order from here again

We have passed this resteraunt a few times but because it's upstairs never went in as you can't see how busy the place is . Last night we called in and all I can say is it's so lovely . The food was amazing and the whole place and staff are so welcoming. Will be regulars from now on .

We phoned up to find out if we could book a table for tonight and i was informed they were shut. However, after a quick chat with his wife, the owners said yes, they’d open for us and we booked a table for 5.30 for 5 of us. Oh my, how lucky were we? We had onion bahji and tandoori chicken for starters, best onion bahjis I’ve had i think - light and tasty. For mains we had lamb McCartney, king prawn balti, chicken tikka balti, chicken jalfrezi and chicken shashlik curry. We also had garlic naan and plain naan with sag aloo. Where do i start? Nothing tasted the same, not like some Indian restaurants that use the same basic sauce and add a few bits here and there. These were made from scratch and all had their own unique flavours. The lamb McCartney was fragrant and creamy - just so good. The potatoes in the sag aloo were the best I’ve ever had - almost like roast potatoes, garlic, spinach and onion. The service and suggestions were on point and i cannot fault a single thing about this restaurant or the owners. The care that goes in to the food and their customers is second to noneRemember to take your own wine :-)Thank you and we will be back

The mint yoghurt was water went in the bin chicken chaat was watery and couldn’t eat the chicken in the massala was dry as anything that went in the bin aswell

Visited tonight with my dad and we both had a really nice night coming here for food the food was gorgeous and Sadiyah completely made out visit, she was so welcoming right from the beginning had amazing recommendations and couldn't do enough for us, had a great visit and will be back soon!xx

Brilliant selection of traditional dishes, as well as some of the chefs’ own creations. They were also able to cater to my dietary needs -gluten-free friendly!

Eaten here twice now in the last 6 weeks - the food is tasty and light with lots of subtle spices. Family run the team are so friendly and knowledgeable about the food the pleasure of the place starts before the food arrives. The choice of food was recommended based on our likes rather than what was on the menu and cooked to how we wanted. Will certainly be back for another 5* treat

I had dinner in Cafe India last week with some friends after a recommendation, the food was gorgeous and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We asked the waitress for her recommendations and everything she brought was amazing, including the coconut ice cream! I will definitely be going back.

Everything about our visit to cafe India was 5star. The staff were unbelievably friendly and knowledgeable about the food. They gave us the best recommendations on what to order and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious, full of flavour and a good portion size. We had a lovely evening at the restaurant and would highly recommend!

Having tried some of the food when here for business I brought two friends back for dinner and it was amazing. Thoughtful and friendly staff just add to the overall experience and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Worth travelling from a distance for the food.

Popped in for an evening meal while working locally and seeing good reviews on here. Wasn’t disappointed! Really friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff, incredible food and great prices. Talking to the locals in there, it was clear that the restaurant has a well earned brilliant reputation. Only drawback is that I don’t live closer. 10/10.

Usually order from the light of India and this is a touch more expensive but worth it as this was really good. Hot, really tasty, great quality and value. Would definitely order from here again over the light.

Booked for a meal out for the first time since restrictions were relaxed. The restaurant and the wonderful staff were so well prepared for the new conditions and met us warmly upon arrival. The restaurant is stunning inside and the ambience was perfect.The evening was fantastic. The service was faultless and staff are very helpful and gave us some recommendations for our meals which were just wonderful. The food was incredible and came out beautifully on the plate, the chef even made a special meal for one of our party which was a combination of two different curries, and that was absolutely gorgeous. Nothing was too much trouble, such an amazing restaurant with fantastic staff and is definitely not one to be missed. Cafe India brings something new to the table with chef specials that are just amazing.Thank you for an absolutely wonderful evening. We will definitely be back soon.

Amazing food, such good quality and you get so much for the money!

Food arrived really late and was bordering on stone cold. The chicken was very hard, almost like it was stale. This was the second time we have ordered from here and both times we were disappointed.

Food was 1hr and 10 minutes late. Food was nice but compared to the other Indian restaurants nearby, mediocre. The curries were all pretty similar and had a floral aftertaste. Won't be ordering from here again.
