Service is very friendly and they provide newspapers, magazines and board games so this is a good place to sit and nurse a cup of coffee. Food is good value for money.

Hate to be critical, as was warmly welcomed and all were very friendly. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast was average at best, bacon and sausage were not great quality and mushrooms watery. My egg was just a greasy mush which they swiftly replaced when I complained...but it should never have been brought out to me. What really was disappointing was the fact that they had put a cheaper brand of brown sauce in HP bottles. It makes you wonder what other shortcuts are being made and the freshness of their condiments...not good!

Me and my partner took a wrong turning and ended up on this street so opted to go here for breakfast and we weren’t disappointed. The place was so clean and tidy and the food was delicious. We were the only customers so we got served fast and the food was good quality, I loved my pancakes! Would recommend as the owner was very pleasant and welcoming

Come for some breakfast the price is good for what you get and the quality is very good. The place is clean and tidy and the staff are nice. Overall I was happy to eat there and enjoyed it. Only thing u would change is the fact there was no brown sugars on the table. Other than that nice,

Well worth a visit. Tasty, freshly cooked breakfast with toast and very nice coffee - all for a tenner! My choice of egg was fried to perfection ;whilst the scrambled version also met approval. Will visit again (when in the area) and it is just a short walk from the multi-story car park or the train station, t'other way.

What a great find!. Small, ordinary looking cafe that is well run by two friendly people. Excellent coffee, spotlessly clean, good choice of food. Leaves the big chain standing. I will certainly be back

Like quite a few people, I originally came across it by accident a while back when having to wait for a train and looking for something to eat. Now a firm favourite. Good choice of reasonably priced food - especially breakfasts and baps but also burgers and curry. The owners are very considerate and I've seen them accommodate a few people's special needs. Café is bright, cheerful and clean with owners always welcoming. Food takes a while to arrive but it is cooked from fresh. Tea and coffee really good. Point to note is closing time 3:30 p.m. but open early.

We arrived at Fareham station early on a Saturday morning with some time to spare before our train departed. As we hadn't had breakfast we walked along Fareham West Street for 2 or 3 minutes and came across 'Cafe Ethos'.The menu had a full range of breakfasts so we went in.Really clean and friendly atmosphere with attentive staff and as well as a wide range of breakfasts they have a comprehensive menu to cover the full day.My wife had fried egg on toast and I had a Bacon and Egg Baguette with a proper 'Mug' of coffee. (I hate having to order two coffees to last through the meal). Both meals were excellent and my Baguette was outstanding. We are planning to go again even without a train journey. Their 'Home Made Curry' looks like next on the list.

With time to spare in Fareham I strolled down West Street towards the station end and came across Cafe Ethos. On a sunny day, and past the lunch period it made a pleasant stop to read the provided newspapers, enjoy the free wifi and drink some very good fresh ground coffee. A friendly welcome plus comfortable seating added to the experience.

We had breakfast here on both days of a short visit to Fareham. Very friendly and helpful service from the lovely young lady. My veggie breakfast easily became vegan by my egg being put on my companion's plate. I don't like coffee but he was very impressed by the Americano and it was he who insisted we come the second day rather than trying the hotel. We'd definitely eat here regularly if we lived in the area.Providing a newspaper was a nice touch but the Daily Mail is not the best choice!

Having visited this little gem of a cafe several times for breakfast, I've yet to find anywhere in Fareham that matches the high standard of food here. The atmosphere is bright and relaxed. Staff always very friendly and efficient. Good quality ingredients, always freshly cooked and very reasonable prices. Option to 'build your own' breakfast if you don't like the pre-set menu is good. The coffee is extremely tasty and also of a high quality. Look forward to our next visit.

I've been to Cafe Ethos a few times and for different things. I've been in there with my family, but my most recent visit was for business.I found the staff friendly & competent and the food above average. There was a good selection and it arrived in a timely manner with a smile. This was the best of both worlds, as I had pancakes, bacon & maple syrup (which I've not had since being in the USA) and the tea was well made, which is rare these days even in this country of tea drinkers.Whenever we have a meeting, we meet at Cafe Ethos, even though I've now moved from Fareham to Portsmouth.

We also enjoy their homemade burgers and curries to name but a few. Its hard to say which is our favourite meal, but you cannot fault the breakfast, quality ingredient are cooked to perfection and all at competitve prices. We also love the delicious icrecreams and icrecream sundaes. They also have homemade jewellery and local artists display their art, which can be purchased at reasonable prices. Certainly worth a visit when you are next in Fareham.

The best burgers in town, maybe Hampshire, maybe the world.OK, that is pushing it a bit but I have travelled in North and South America and those burgers take some beating but Cafe Ethos make a varied selection of very special gourmet burgers and at brilliant prices. What's more they don't come with soggy chips but instead delicious wedges and they do very good frothy coffees too.Barely enough space or me to tell you how friendly the customer service is so you will just have to go and find out for yourselves :)

I really wante to like this place and support local non-chain businesses but it was let down by the fact that the girl behind the counter didn't look like she wanted to be there and had a moody face on the whole time we were there, even when we were ordering. The guy who brought the food out was smiley enough, and it was apparent that the sandwiches were made to order which was good. The music playing on the sound system was Kerang radio which was not exactly relaxing. The place lacked a bit of soul and the food was ok, nothing special, sorry.

We went shopping to fareham on a Saturday morning and were looking for a cafe to get a breakfast after searching for somewhere to eat we stumbled across this place. Superb service, great ambience, lovely clean environment and very friendly staff. As it is near the end of west street I suppose not many people bother to walk that far but we were very pleasantly surprised. Local artists work are displayed on the walls which were able to be purchased and display cases of jewellery also for sale. Free wifi, tv and back ground music. It was a very good experience and we will definitely be going back next time we are in the area. The food is cooked fresh as it is ordered. It was nice to be treated so well by the staff. It has a casual seating area if you are just popping in for a quick cuppa . On reading the menu some of the items on the desert list looked delicious, with plenty of options for you to create something perfectly scrumptious just for you. Wether you just want a quick sandwich or baguette or something more substantial then cafe ethos is the place to go. The choice of beverages for such a small business is phenomenal. Even if you want the herbal option then they have it. Vegetarian? Not a problem. There is ample choice no matter what your eating requirements may be. 5* in my opinion. Very competitive prices.

For a typical local GreenKing pub the meal we have just had truly merits the five stars. The service was prompt and friendly. The food including a roast dinner was excellent. Especially good is the gammon steak which is always melt in the mouth juicy and tender.

Lovely looking pub was looking forward to Sunday roast given all the rave reviews. I ordered the beef and really wish I hadn't completely inedible. Even my non fussy husband had a go as he felt a bit embarrassed with me not eating it but even he couldn't eat it. This must be the worst beef I have ever eaten or attempted too couldn't even cut it with a knife it was that tough. As previous poster mentioned the waitress was not pleasant and seemed to have a sour undertone. She must be fun to work with! Obviously won't be going back.

Four of us went to have dinner before going to the theatre but due to us having a rather late breakfast (I guess I should rename it lunch!) when we got to The Buccaneer we were still rather full. However, the fresh salad bar is a winner in this sort of situation and very tempting - so that's we had. Us two ladies found enough room to have the sponge pudding and custard ...... BEAUTIFUL ...... so light and fluffy. The staff were all very helpful and jolly with it and we'll definitely go back again as this venue is easily going to replace the other eatery up the road a bit more that we used to go to but have given up on as it has 'gone down hill' quite a lot! Excellent value for money with a good extensive menu. All the food we saw appearing at various tables made us wish we'd had 'breakfast' earlier ..... or not at all !! Another PLUS POINT for us is that they do NOT serve halal here.

We love it here, a bit pricey, but the food is of a high standard We ordered our drinks and food, and our server was polite and very engaging .We sat and watched an array of amazing meals being served. Generous portions, too,and we were so looking for our order! We waited and waited and waited and on and on. After an hour, we had had enough! We didn't make a scene but told our very young front of house that we were not happy with the service,we even paid for our beverages and left.Im sorry, but this was shocking service! The management must take full responsibility! You're taking your custom for granted and basically employing kids! They need supervision and guidance it's not their fault! A mature, safe pair of hands needs to be in attendance to oversee your covers!! It's such a shame
