We travel around to visit parkruns on Saturdays and always hunt out the nearest Morrisons for breakfast afterwatds. The chain is gradually "updating" its cafes and from our point of view, it's been a horror story. First of all, the price of a teapot of hot water with a teabag in it has risen by an appalling, incredible 50% to £1.75, and the total cost of our two breakfasts is up by £2 for less food. In the past, my wife has always had a pot of fruit yoghurt, and porridge with fruit compote and fruit. I've had a bacon sandwich, and we've each had a pot of tea. Yogurt is no longer available and the porridge is served with honey (allegedly - we've never been able to detect any) and a stingy scatter of fruit. The bacon sandwich can be terrific or terrible. Instead of the traditional wholemeal or white roll, it now comes in a ciabatta roll. If the roll is lightly toasted (as it is in 50% of cafes) and contains three rashers, it's terrific. When untoasted and containing just two rashers, it's just a stodgy, almost inedible handful of dough. We kept going to Morrisons because the offering was so reliable. Now, we're going to look around and see what the others can offer.

Quick lunch with my daughter today as school was closed. It was apparent we lowered the average age a tad and the food wasn't the attraction, we just wanted to go somewhere, anywhere, and it was handy. However, I wanted to write a review as the young girl who was working, pretty much on her own, really deserves a mention. She was on the til taking all of the orders and had the patience of a saint with everyone. Once she had taken orders, she had to nip across the cafe and become the barista. Apparently we are supposed to know the table number we'll be sitting at before that would actually be possible but she took the time to take everyone through to a point where they could choose a table. I'm torn between saying she was wasted in there and she should have a career in a caring role, or that she must make the place a nice trip out for the customers as she really did go above and beyond with a smile.

My wife and I went for a snack.Very slow service and the system dose not work.We order hot sandwiches ,drinks and cake of the touch screen .We were in line with the drinks to find no cake and fruit shoot .Had to wait to get our money back to find our sandwiches had come out.Managed to get the others drinks and by this time the hot sandwiches were cold. Absolutely rubbish and would not go back and would not recommend. Needs a big shake up! Or SHUT IT DOWN .Very dirty too.

The cafe restaurant has been ‘updated’ it all seems to take so long to get sorted … I had the chicken pie with gravy and tea … the time to get served was excruciating

Morrisons Harrogate has gone so down hill. Very poor choices, most of the shelves are empty on a regular basis! I have been shopping here for years but am looking elsewhere now. Staff are nice enough but no point shopping there now they never have what I want. Self check outs are poorly maned leaving you waiting for ages if they go wrong. Never have bags at the self checkout either.

On a trip to Harrogate, we had breakfast in Morrison’s. At the entrance, there was a unit containing sanitiser. The unit was empty of sanitiser. We were asked to fill in a Track and Trace form. We were given a form and a pen. We ordered our breakfast. I asked if I could change the fried egg to scrambled and not have the sausages. I was advised that because of Covid, they could not change the contents of the meal. That is fair enough. However, I could order the items that I wanted and pay for them separately, which I did. We ordered a coffee and I picked up a bottle of water. We were advised to go to our table and the food would be brought over when it was ready. The table had been sanitised but there were still remnants of baked bean juice/tomato ketchup on the table. I advised the team member, who came to inspect it and then advised us to sit at the next one. That one had also been sanitised but again, there were remnants of baked beans/tomato sauce on the table. I advised the team member, who again came and inspected it and advised us to move to the next table. Whilst waiting for our food, I filled in the form and left it on the table. Our food was brought to the table. Halfway through eating our breakfast, I asked a team member for the coffee that had been ordered. She advised that you had to help yourself. My husband went to get his coffee, where he had to pick his own cup (hopefully not too many other people had touched it) and then pressed the machine button for the drink that he wanted. The same button being pressed by numerous other people. Our meal was below average. It should have been served much hotter. My scrambled eggs were so overcooked that they could be cut into slices with a knife. Mushrooms should be drained so that the dark coloured liquid is not pooling on the plate. No one collected our completed Track and Trace form from the table whilst we were there. There was no Morrison’s team member visible to hand it to, so the form was left for collection because of the importance of it. As other customers could pick it up, I feel that the Data Protection Act may have been breached.

Visited this cafe yesterday - Monday - at about 2pm. There was no quiche left. The children's portion of fish fingers had a lot of chips and peas but only two tiny fish fingers: not even enough protein for a toddler! The breakfast omelette and the mushrooms were rather cool. There was only one high chair, already in use when we arrived. There were no napkins, so we were given sheets from a kitchen roll. The till assistant was friendly but this didn't make up for the rest of the experience.

If you fancy a tea or coffee, a sandwich or a snack after your shopping trip, it's well worth a visit here. The prices are very reasonable, and the choice is quite good. It is nice to sample a coffee and a cake without it costing the earth!

We called in for dinner and they had no fish and chips or roast beef. We ordered scampi and the portions were small and poor quality and a waste of money. Service was poor. No customers. Restaurant was cold. But they still managed to take the money. You used to get good fish and chips in a warm atmosphere, but that has all gone.

I had a first rate lunch. The sausages were tasty and not over seasoned and the helping of Apple Crumble was ginormous. The service was friendly and efficient. It was a pity that the new ordering device was malfunctioning.

I visited Morrison’s cafe today with my partner for what was supposed to be a nice meal out for lunch. The girl at the till was polite but the other members of staff couldn’t be bothered, weren’t friendly or showed any customer service. It took half an hour for our food to come only for them to get the order wrong and for it to be hardly warm. I ordered an all day brunch with scrambled egg and the man wouldn’t change my fried egg to scrambled as he said they had ‘run out’!! How can you run out of scrambled egg and still make fried egg and have a supermarket full of eggs ???! Asked a red haired older lady for ketchup and she said she’d get it and never did it. Just really disappointed with the level of customer service as well as the food quality as quite frankly it wasn’t very nice at all or worth the £11.20!! Won’t be returning

I have visited this cafe/restaurant dozens of times over the last few years. Many times just for drinks, which themselves are quite acceptable. However, I have also experienced many meals from lunch time to dinner time - at all hours. I have found the variety of meals available quite broad but the quality of many of these meals leaves a great deal to be desired. I have even got the manager out on one occasion to ask her opinion of what I had been served up - and for the fourth time over a period of a couple of months. She has to agree with all my observations and rectified it immediately. This wasn’t the point, the standard should not have been poor in the first place. The last visit I made with family, was on 21/8/18. We took advantage of the electronic ordering - I believe in progress - but ended up having to wait 45minutes for 3 very simple sandwiches. The attitude of the lady serving was less than encouraging a further visit. I will stick to drinks from now on. I have spent far too much physical time having being served poor quality food and then trying to have it rectified. Apologies have always been given, but I think more attention to better cooking staff (and serving staff) may achieve the desired goals.

Visited a number of times whilst on holiday. Reasonable prices, tasty breakfasts, plentiful tea and coffee, very clean and tidy. Fried or poached... but no scrambled egg? What a let down. If you can sort that out - (and ensure all staff smile when taking orders) then you’d have got an Excellent.

Called in for evening meal and wished we hadn't. Food awful, burger inedible, pie and mash awful. Curry was just ok, female staff member miserable, she must have known what she was serving.

Returned today to get some dinner, can be abit hit and miss with the cafe, service can sometimes be bad but food is normally good. Fair priced aswell. Today we went for dinner before we went shopping and the lady who served us was lovely and kind, never had this before from there so was quite a shock. Should of praised her to the manager but I’ll be writing an email to ensure she gets credit where credit is due.

Worth dropping in here before or after shopping. We enjoy a coffee here on a regular basis. Sometimes the food takes a while to be served to the table, especially during busy periods. There is a good selection of sandwiches and tempting cakes, and the prices are very reasonable.

Perhaps memory is a strange thing, but I seem to recall coming into Morrison's cafe several years ago for the occasional big breakfast, which I generally considered tasty and very good value. The version I had today was, quite simply, awful.

I am now losing faith in Wetherspoons as the value for money place to eat, we came here last Wednesday, three adults and two children for our tea time treat as a family but I am sorry to say that, and speaking personally for my meal alone, which was the small mixed grill, the peas were cold, the chips were warm and one of the pieces of meat in the mixed grill which I believe was supposed to be beef was also cold and almost impossible to chew. Time was when we never had a bad word to say about this chain of pub eateries but since Covid, the only road they are travelling is downwards. Won't be rushing back.

Disappointing couple of visits recently, poor ambiance, no one seems to be in charge or responsible. High prices should be supported by top service. Very quiet, beautiful place, shame
