After moving away from the town just over 10 years ago, it was pleasant to see this pub has not altered. It boasts a traditional decor with old but ornate wooden tables and chairs. The range of beers is excellent, and a limited choice of snacks is available. The tap room was cosy and warm, there is also an outdoor area which I’m sure is lovely in the warmer months

We stopped at Burton on our drive up to Matlock and the Peak District in December 2022. We had already eaten and refreshed with a couple pints here. This is the pub for the Burton Bridge Brewery, which produces excellent beers. The pub is not large but is comfortable and attractive. It was nice and cozy on a chilly December evening. Staff were friendly, the beer in excellent condition, and they had bottles to take away in addition to the cask beers.

This is a fine friendly old pub close to the river at the far end of Burton's long High St, and is the home of the Burton Bridge Brewery for which it acts it’s the tap pub. It is a multi room set up and after accessing through a short corridor to the left is the Smoke Room with two charming front snugs and it's own bar access with lots of original features. And then the back bar is larger but less interesting although still with lots of wood panelling and a blackboard giving the available ale line up. And then upstairs is a skittle alley and a meeting room which can be hired. Each downstairs room has a set of four hand pumps with Burton Bridge beers on. For our visit six of the breweries beers were on across these in the shape of Sovereign Gold, Bridge Bitter, DBA, Stairway to Heaven, Festival Ale, Burton Ale and Top Dog Stout, which went from £3.30 to £3.80 for the highest abv. Also traditional pub grub in the shape of large cobs and the cheese and onion one I had hit the spot. Definitely a don't miss pub for the ale enthusiast when in Burton.

We three adults visited the Bridge Inn on a Saturday afternoon. This is a pub just outside Burton on Trent and next door to a major canal. It seems to pride itself on Italian cuisine – but there are a few things that do not quite combine very well.1/ It has a very large extensive menu- something I am always suspicious of- showing that a small kitchen cannot provide all these meals on a fresh basis.2/ The Polish owner of this pub seems to lack any real knowledge of Italian food. For example order Spaghetti Bolognese is more Polonaise and my wife received a very spiced up version of spaghetti but the sauce is heavy spiced and hot on the tongue- fine if you are aware but the menu needs to make that clear. To be fair we did get the cost deducted from the bill. Maybe his clients like it that way-but Italian?2/ Tomatoes are a justifiable ingredient of Italian cooking- but this menu can hardly provide any starters without tasteless English grown types. The first course was a shared Italian cured meat plateau that was fair matched the descriptive, and two different Crostini which consisted of three pieces of toast on which a chopped up fresh tomato @ £5.50 each humm…… -Much same style continues on with the mains-Tomatoes or cream………….3/ I ate a Chicken Supreme dish which was totally covered, almost drenched in a heavy cream sauce and very sweet with gnocchi . Later in the night to come gave me a high number of visits to the bathroom and little sleep! The starters were eaten by all three diners- only this main dish above was eaten by me. I feel the owner needs to take a three week cookery study visit to Italy-because what is being produced in his kitchens are only slightly related to that country…………Costs? Not a cheap lunch time restaurant because our bill for two large glasses of wine and one beer(pint) and two draught pepsi and two courses each person coming to £91 for three adults.ends

The Burton Bridge Inn is an excellent example of a traditional English pub. It is hugely popular with both Burton locals and with visitors from near and far. The pub comprises two rooms on the ground floor, plus a skittles alley upstairs. The outside area features a few picnic tables, which enable both smokers and non-smokers to enjoy their drinks in a socially-distanced environment. The Burton Bridge Inn offers the full range of draught Burton Bridge Brewery ales. Pork pies and crisps / nuts are also available for purchase at the bar. The current management have continued to uphold the high standards of customer service that they established before Lockdown, with table-service now being the new norm. The Burton Bridge Inn is an absolute must for any lover of fine food and drink in Burton-upon-Trent! Please visit it and support it!

Went in as we were staying opposite at the Three Queens Hotel. This is a typical example of an old fashioned pub that are becoming more and more hard to find. I can honestly say it was an absolute gem. All the real ale is hand pumped and brewed by their own brewery. They do a beer paddle which means you can sample all their beers in one third pint glasses. All were great but The Stairway to Heaven stood out as a fantastic ale. A really friendly pub with both bar staff and regulars very welcoming.

The Burton Bridge Inn brew their own beers which are lovely. I like the fact that you can get a traditional beer, with a choice of bar snacks such as pork pie, crisps and scratchings. The atmosphere is friendly with open fires. It can get very busy and sometimes you find yourself staring a table with strangers and striking up conversations. Dogs are allowed in both bar areas. There is a skittle alley upstairs which can be booked in advance. I love the fact that this is an old, unspoilt, traditional pub which has not been spoilt by commercial ideas and does not serve food.

The Burton Bridge Inn is the brewery tap of the adjacent Burton Bridge Brewery, a small, independent brewer in this real ale town. The pub has a nice atmosphere and staff are very friendly. I tried several beers from Burton bridge (both here and elsewhere in town), and while all of them are decent, none I felt was outstandingly characterful. But of course you won't get the beers any fresher than at this place, which is a little outside of the town centre. Pub food is available, too.

The pub is a bit cramped but it is an old building which is obvious right from walking through the door. It is steeped in Burton's history and the beer served matches. They serve real ale not watered down rubbish. I haven't eaten here apart from cob and chips but even that was good, particularly when we ran out of chips and they just fetched another load and topped the container up. The guys behind the bar are so friendly and knowledgeable abou their beers. There are a couple of barmaids there who can't hold a candle to the two guys and are a bit slow when serving drinks. The pub is made up of little alcoves an small bars giving it a homely feel. The beer was as expected perfectly kept and full of flavour. We all opted to have a Ploughmans at £6-45 and what a Ploughmans it was, probably one of the best I have had for the money. It consisted of pickle, salad, pickled onions, cheddar, ham off the bone, half a pork pie, homemade coleslaw and full warm ciabatta bread with butter. It complimented the beer brilliantly. My friend Ed wanted to try a selection of local beers so what better than to have the sampler paddle that was offered by the wonderful lady at the bar. Indeed, we partook of two of these (that's two EACH) in order to taste the 6 beers that were offered on the chalk board alongside the bar. Our favourite, "Stairway to Heaven"....but we particularly enjoyed the process by which we arrived at that decision! All in all, a great evening, enjoyed by all and back in Cleveland, Ohio, our group picture, taken by the fireplace, now adorns Michele's PC as a "screen saver"! Burton Bridge Brewery, immortalised across the water!

Booking is advisable as this lovely little piece of Italy has only a few tables. Booked in, the obligatory pint of Peroni and sat down to order. We had a table of 8 and as am from Italian decent They voted for me to choose a selection of starters for all to share, which I readily did. before the starters came we ordered mains. Starters came and wow I think I had over ordered with the amount of different dishes that kept coming. BUT they all were devoured with lots of oos and arssss . Mains were plentiful, hot and freshly cooked, all the pasta is made on the premises. We were stuffed BUT we had to share a tiramisu which again was home made. we were offer a free limoncello which was a great taste. Good service in nice surrounding just off the A38 Burton turn.

As good as always. The foods was standard Pub Grub but very good value for money and the quality was as expected. The things that draws us back is the beer, excellent as always. We may not visit as often as we once did but it is always reassuring that when we do return the food, beer and welcome is always good.

I'd liken this to the Ronseal of the pub world. It does exactly what it says on the tin. A no frills offering, but don't let that detract from the superb range of ales on offer in a traditional pub setting. Try a locally produced pork pie to accompany your ale, you won't be disappointed! A simple lunch time menu is on offer as well.Relatively small so can get busy at peak times with a small semi-covered beer garden overlooking the brewer yard.Frequented by locals, and a must for any visitor passing through the home of brewing.

I came here with a friend last Sunday lunchtime for a couple of pints. It's an authentic Victorian pub with several different rooms to drink in. Friendly welcome and service from the landlady. The locals were also friendly. Local pork pies were very good too.

This is a traditional, friendly pub with an excellent range of real ale. When I was there the local town beer festival so there was a hum of activity in the place. The landlady was judging at the festival and many travellers here for the festival obviously made this a key port of call on their trip.

I don't go out in Burton without starting here. Simply that good. Pork pies and a pint, with a fire on a winters day.

A proper old-fashioned pub with a great selection of real ales. Lunchtime food is fantastic - rather partial to the Staffordshire filled oakcake! Very friendly staff too. A must if you're in Burton.

Sunday lunch was fabulous. Really tasty, best I’ve had in a very long time. The pub looks nothing from the outside, so we visited based on good Trip Advisor reviews and weren’t disappointed. Will definitely return. Price was excellent value for money.

The menu has changed which is good, however when coming you have to call every time to ensure they are actually serving food, as been turned away a couple of times as they were not serving food Anyway we went in May 2023, the food was fantastic as usual, all home cooked, absolutely top notch. The Bangor burger has changed and is even bigger, in fact it defeated me I could not eat it Very reasonable on the prices, overall excellent and will come back time and time again
