Our 1st visit since the refit at BurleighCourt & what an awesome transformation. We dined in The Fifty restaurant. In there we were looked after by Liz, Who couldn't do enough to ensure we had the best experience possible. Service was excellent, The food was excellent & the prices are reasonable too. We won't hesitate to come back. The Fifty is well worth a visit.

I have been to this restaurant many times, for Sunday Lunch, with a party of up to 18 people including children. The meals are always excellent. The service has always been efficient and courteous. A good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Sitting outside in the sheltered courtyard before or after your meal is a pleasure when the sun is shining and the children can have a good run around.

Not as good as expected. Had a sandwich which was very average. I was disappointed with the service. We had booked a table outdoors way in advance and was expecting one to be made up for us out front with views. We had to find are own table which meant sitting to the rear as there were no large tables left with a view. The staff were lovely but did get our order wrong twice. Although apologetic didn’t offer anything complimentary to compensate. The position is stunning and I really wanted to be impressed as it was the 1st time I’d visited and I am local. Sadly won’t rush back.

I ate several breakfasts and lunches, and a few dinners here and it was superb. There was always at least one good gluten free choice, and the lunch and breakfast buffet choices are vast and good. And generally healthy! The service of the hotel and restaurant staff was excellent, and they are mostly younger people which tells me that they have great management.

We don't usually eat our evening meal in BC if we are staying in the hotel but this visit meant I had 2 free evenings and so had food from the hotel restaurant. First visit I ate in and had the venison burger which was super. Second night I ordered fish and chips at the bar and took the meal back to my room. Huge portion of food. Chips were super as was the fish.

I have had Sunday lunch here a few times over the last few years and it has always been very good. Today was no exception. The choice of starters - help yourself - includes a wide variety of fish, including smoked and fresh salmon, trout, prawns and smoked mackerel together with a wide variety of salads. Main course is carvery with the usual meats. Portions are generous. There is a wide choice and variety of vegetables and potatoes all of which are well cooked and very tasty. Plentiful very tasty gravy and other sauces are also available. A variety of cold sweets are available for sweet. Today there was a hot sweet being a Bakewell tart and custard, which was recommended by the attentive waitress. It was absolutely delicious, the best I have ever tasted. tea and coffee is also on hand. All the staff were friendly, professional and cheerful. This is an excellent place for Sunday lunch, spotlessly clean and nice relaxed atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.

First the staff were very friendly and well presented. Sadly that’s the only good thing I can say. I ordered a simple bar menu burger, it cost £16 and the burger was very over cooked and dry. The chips were only okay and I had to wait 30 minutes for the privilege. I will not be returning.

I have been coming to Burleigh Court for 20 years and have always been impressed by the quality of the food. But the last couple of meals have lacked the previous very high standards. Reading the menu gives the impression you are in for a treat but it no longer delivers on quality nor quantity. Meanwhile the prices have risen. Last night I had crab cakes that didn't taste of crab and had a bit of shell. For the main course I opted for wagyu burger which was a poor substitute for a standard chain burger. They need to wind back a bit and try not to strive for excellence and risk missing. The breakfasts are still excellent. No chance of 'improving' those I guess.

We have lunched and dined here for many years including private parties with guests staying in hotel. It was impossible to fault the ambience, food and service. There has now been a change of ownership and our last visit was a few days after the changeover and we said we would return. We did unfortunately, for our daughter's 25th wedding anniversary while they were down from Aberdeen. we had a small family party of six and lunched in the restaurant in solitary state - not surprised. It was a great mistake, the barman needed a shave, the very pleasant young lady who served us unfortunately had had little if any training, not even knowing the correct position of the cutlery etc. this was not her fault! We discovered that the Chef had walked out the previous Friday and been replaced with a contract cook. needless to say the food offering was poor. I am unable to pass any comment on the accommodation now, but it must be better than the restaurant. It is very sad to see an excellent establishment go this way.

Stayed at hotel on business and decided to eat in the restaurant. The menu itself was adequate (for a mid-week business evening), but certainly didn’t excite. I opted for the mushroom pâté @ £6.50. The portion was laughable and served with three very small pieces of (what I assume was) French toast & token greenery. There was barely enough pâté to offer a small scraping onto two of the pieces then it was gone. Very poor and vastly overpriced. Main course I opted for the steak & fries. I asked for medium rare but it arrived well done and leather-like. The plates were cold so the steak and everything on the dish soon followed. Once again @ £21.95 very poor for a supposed quality eatery. For my last course I asked for the cheese board. A selection of 3 cheeses appeared including my favourite Stilton. Unfortunately though, it was served straight from the fridge so freezing cold and rock hard along with the other cheese alongside. It came with (literally) a few small rectangular crackers, 2 or 3 small slivers of celery, 4 past their best grapes (sooooo generous) and the tiniest pot of chutney I’ve ever seen. So smallish fact, it was a task to get the knife in to serve it onto the cracker. Once again, totally inadequate and unenjoyable. So to summarise, a very average rating experience; ‘mediochre’ at very best and certainly not somewhere I’d use (or recommend) again.

Excellent atmosphere, with smart and very attentive staff. I was welcomed and shown to my table. The atmosphere and general decor appears to have been updated since my last stay. The starter of Cornish sardines was pleasant except for the ‘breaded brick’ that almost broke my tooth! This little episode was redeemed by the beef bavette, which was very tasty. The following morning I had a very passable breakfast, once again supported by very attentive staff. Yes I’ll be back but will skip the Cornish Sardine!

For the prices of dishes in this restaurant, we had expected something special. The food, while nice enough, was not exceptionally well cooked. Beware if you are gluten free, they made mistakes with our gluten free order and do not seem very allergy aware. The environment is that of a catering venue, neither cosy or elegant. I stayed at the Burleigh Court for a week on business and ate at the restaurant a few times. The staff did a good job with their service. The side dishes were all very good. The only issue I had was the duck breast and the seared tuna were over cooked. They should be medium rare not medium well. I also ordered a hamburger from room service and asked for is cooked medium and was told they only cook them well done. Which makes for a dry and tasteless burger.

Stayed here for two nights. Ate at the restaurant on first night only to be well and truly disappointed. We paid over £60 for two courses for two people. We were treated rudely to begin with starting from when they were unable to find our reservation. Our service and food orders were tediously slow all evening despite the place being almost empty. The front of house staff were, as others have said very undertrained and inexperienced. The food was well flavoured but felt more weatherspoons than real restaurant in terms of presentation and texture. The chefs hadn't even bothered to trim the vegetables. Certainly would not recommend any one wastes there money at this place. I've eaten far superior meals at local pubs with passionate chefs and excellent waiting staff. All for half the price of Burleigh Court and would suggest you do the same.

Really nice experience. I booked a table the week before and the chap on the phone was really nice and bubbly and polite so I was looking forward to my dining experience. We arranged to eat at 1pm and arrived at 12:50pm got a drink and headed in. What a lovely relaxed atmosphere there is! In your own time you can go for starters which was tomato soup (lovely) or fresh salad which looked like it had been prepped with such care and looked really appetising. The staff throughout were really attentive and never let you have an empty glass. There was no queue for the carvery and again the meat looked lush and the side dishes all looked fresh and appealing. I had the turkey with some new potatoes and veg topped off with gravy and it was the nicest sunday lunch I had had in a while. I love a pudding and on choice was a lot of cheesecake...a lot of cheesecake! I would definitely recommend more hot pudding selection as it was only rice pudding..c'mon I am 20 years old, where's the crumble or chocolate steamed pudding! I did have 2 of the chocolate and praline mousse cake things so I didn't go hungry! And then you could retreat back to the lounge for tea and coffee. I felt really relaxed and probably because we had got in just before two massive parties but I would definitely go again - I like to plate up my own meal and pick what I fancy.

I have reviewed Burleigh court before and gave it an excellent review. I now feel as though a new review is required. Why, they have changed the format for Sunday lunch and it is no longer anything special.Previously it was a self service starter with a great selection, followed by a carvery followed by self service desert, again with great choice. This works well and my kidsdont always want carvery and so they fill up on starters, so everyone has something they like. We used to go about once a quarter as a family. It was slightly more expensive than your average sunday lunch but well worth it.I booked a table for today a fortnight ago. Booking was taken. Was advised price had risen slightly but not advised that format had changed. We arrived to be told choice of 4 starters, carvery and choice of 4 deserts. Price was no different. Had 2 kids who were unable to find anything they wanted and so they didnt eat (we didnt pay). I found the choice of starters and deserts uninspiring. The food was nice and i cannot complain about the food we hadWe did register our feelings at the time however what was a family celebration was spoilt as if we had known about the change we would have gone elsewhere. Overall it is now an average 3 course carvery dinner which cannot be justified by the cost and can be eaten at many other places Please, please Burleigh court..change back. The old format was what made you unique and worth the money. Unfortunately we wont be coming back until you do.

Burleigh court Is A conference hotel on the university campus. The restaurant is very formulaic in its decor similar to every other box type out of town modern hotel, and lacks atmosphere. The food and choice on the menu is adequate with an interesting selection, however many of the items although very good quality appear to be pre manufactured and purchased from hotel catering companies rather than made on site. For example the chicken I had at £16, I found something similar online at £40 for a box of 10, but it was very tasty and well served with well prepared veg. Similarly many of the starters and deserts are pre manufactured. the cost seems quite high compared to other similar hotels (16 to 25 for a main, 5 to 7 for starters and deserts). We paid £40 a head for an above average 3 course meal with coffee wine and a drink. However if you stay I expect you get a deal. Everyone enjoyed their food. The service is good but seemed a bit flakey at times, . An adequate experience for the money and fine if you have to use it but I would not go out my way to do so I think.

Have been here before, so decided that a large gathering would be in order, so chose this place for Mothering Sunday and so a party of 18 were booked for this event. We expected it to be busy as they had a full booking for the 1st sitting and fully booked for a later one. Yes, it was busy but all very well thought out and executed by the staff well.Ironically we were unaware that friends of ours were also their with a party of 12.Everyone in our group were more than happy with what was on offer from the vast array of starters , mains & lovely deserts. all around the room everyone seemed more than happy, Mothers given a token small plant & children not to be left out a small goodie bag to keep them happy.Bravo, you made my 85 year old Mums day(Also her birthday the day before) 6 other Mums in our party all Happy and me as the Guy who suggested the location could take a breath as all was good. The biggest critic would have been my Brother & my Son but again all good. They all said they would like to go back so we are now trying to fit a date in when we can all come back together...that is our issue only finding time for all to attend. So from two large family groups of 30 people all well & good. Prices are very competitive and we find the staff attentive & welcomming even when its busy & I guess they are a little stressed. But the show no evidence of that, they just get on with it.as said Bravo, Thank you & see you again soon

disappointed to say the least! 4* I think not!!! My first impression was that there was no smell of food to greet you, then I was given the wrong tart as a starter followed swiftly by a raw steak( supposedly rare, £19). Sweets we were told could be picked from either menu but when we had chosen ,we were told that only tart, tart, ice cream. fruit salad and cheese and biscuits were available! We weren't offered any coffee after our meal and then were asked we could move to the bar area as they needed to set up for breakfast. We asked for coffee at the bar but was told that the machine had been turned off, we could have an instant one if we liked!! We will not be returning as we have had better food and service in many a local pub!

The smallest, cheapest glass of wine was over £5. The food served at the conference dinner was really good. I had the vegetarian option, which was a whole goats cheese fried. The main was thai green curry which wasn't the best I've had, but not bad. The dessert was particularly good (chocolate and honeycomb tower with caramel). We went for Sunday Lunch to celebrate my parents 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary. There was 8 of us including 2 children aged 10 and 14. My parents had been before and had wanted to go again. I would agree with a previous review, drinks prices are steep and £30 for 8 drinks (4 of which were soft drinks) did seem over the top.We were seated early and started with the starter bar....what a choice soup, fish, meat, salad, bread, everything was delicious and I have to say I would have gone back again, but could see the carvery, so wanted to crack on with main course. This is where my one and only criticism comes into play. Just as we were about to go to get our carvery a conference came in to eat, all 150 of them !!, yes 150 people in the queue for the carvery all mingled around the tables. We eventually decided to join the queue and probably wanted for 20 mins to get food.. I am not complaining about there being a conference, but it would have been nice to know or even suggest that conference could eat after the main restaurant.Anyway that aside, the choice of food on the carvery was amazing and the quality great. A always, my eyes were bigger than my belly and following the fantastic starters, I struggled, but then the dessert bar called. So much choice, there was something for everyone, hot and cold.Staff were very attentive and helpful. Will definitely go again as it was wonderful. Highly recommended

Been here a couple of time for Sunday lunch and both times were very good. All inclusive price includes fabulous buffet starter. Poached salmon, smoked salmon, smoked trout, crayfish, duck with noodles, continental meets, pate, and all accompanied with mixture of salad/rices etc. Main course normally a choice of two roasts ... today we had beef and pork both which cooked to perfection, and a good choice of fresh veggie. Still hungry ... then try the desert counter featuring such delights as peach and strawberry crumble with custard, rhubarb cheesecake, chocolate mousse etc. Overall high quality food and good value for money.

We picked the Waterbridge for my Mum's wake after it being recommended and we were not disappointed. Annette was extremely helpful from start to finish. Premises are lovely, food was absolutely great, so friendly and welcoming. They made a difficult time and day so much easier. Thankyou x

A passable Wetherspoons pub that served a purpose that morning to give us a spot to rest up and have a coffee. Totally unmemorable and unremarkable, a Wetherspoons pub that feels like it has had it's time and they've had enough. Really didn't enjoy either of the 'Spoons in Loughborough at all which is a shame. When run properly, Wetherspoons has a place in a town, sadly not in Loughborough apparently.

Sadly, whilst this location is temporarily closed, I look forward to being welcomed back to a local and convenient place to eat which serves typical menu items at affordable prices.

My daughter went in for 1 lot of chips with her bank card while I waited outside, they charged he £7 for a cone of chips , when I went in to ask them about the price they charged her they just chucked the money on the counter with not one word ! Not even an apology! The manager couldn't even speak to apologise either and was stood next to the girl who has no voice ! It's not how you run a business How many kids do they do this to ! You can't see the price on the card machine as its behind the screen facing them . Very rude staff , I will not be returning
