The lady that served us was lovely. Very friendly, polite and accommodating. The price is very reasonable, they are dog friendly, adapted the breakfast to what we wanted. Such as adding an extra egg instead of sausage.

I had a day in York on Tuesday 23/7/24, mainly to visit the railway museum, and then took the bus from there into the city for a bite to eat. I visited the market and decided to have something from The Brunch Wagon. I looked at the menu and decided on "the breakfast tray" (despite it being nearly 1400 ) and a can of drink. The lady serving was very helpful and seemingly unflappable, calmly getting several orders ready in quick succession. My breakfast tray consisted of sausages, fried egg, baked beans, mushrooms, hash brown, a lovely thick rasher of bacon and a buttered bap. The lady called when it was ready and when she saw I was using a walking stick whilst going to get up from the picnic table seating, she said straight away to stay there and she brought it out to me. Very good value with excellent, friendly and helpful service. Some of the fast food chains could learn a great deal about quality and excellent service from this lady at The Brunch Wagon. A sincere thank you.

Placed right in the heart of the vibrant Shambles market, this little wagon serves you all that you need to get your day going. Starting from bacon butty, egg & mushroom butty, full English or chips with cheese or a decent burger in the afternoon, coffee, tea and cold beverages, and seems like they serve ice cream as well. The staff are welcoming and the place itself is clean and operating at high standards. Also, the prices seem very friendly even for someone with a thinner wallet after a wild night out.

The people who run the stall are about as alert as a bear in winter. When asked who was next (and there was only me and the guy who come after me), I said "me". The woman then served the the guy behind me. I can take personally because they don't me. What I can say if they all look slow. If that's the case food safety is definitely questionable. Do bother wasting your time. I didn't.

Honestly the best food I’ve ever had. The food was top notch, hit the spot. It’s rare the kids enjoy the same food as me but this place is a must. Customer services was outstanding, the owner, Sammy, made time for me and the kids even though she was clearly busy and to top it off the prices are very reasonable. We were in the queue behind somebody complaining about fatty bacon which I found upsetting as they were clearly a bit of a Karen who wanted to rant about something. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be coming back! I’m going to end up as fat as the person who was complaining about fatty bacon!

Food was meh but I knew what to expect. Blonde lady who I assume was the owner was rude and just generally a bit of a door handle if you know what I mean.

Late breakfast after checking out of our hotel. Should have checked what other people ordered but didn't. Ordered two filled rolls one with bacon and one with sausage. 3 to 4 rashers of bacon and three sausages in big rolls(baps ). Struggled to finish them. Friends got a bag to take leftovers away. Very tasty reasonably priced as was the coffee and tea. Well worth a visit. But only order two if your really hungry.

There is nothing as good, no food so fresh and no service so good as at the Brunch Wagon where tge sounds of Italian, Spanish and native York residents mixes rogether to ensure it is our first daytime port of call when we visit the ancient capital of North BritaIn. Keep up the great work ladies!

Visited the Brunch Wagon for coffee and a bacon butty this morning. Just what my husband and I needed. The coffee was beautiful and the bacon butty ( or roll) was packed full of tasty, gorgeous flavoured bacon. This will now be our go to coffee destination when we visit York. Real value for money and central location.

I am a keen patron of bacon establishments and this bacon was cooked to perfection with some of the local meat available. Wow, after eating the sandwich my day was lifted! I could run faster, jump higher and achieve what I could in a year in a day. Friendly and happy staff and a hive of activity makes this place a must stop in the shambles market. My addiction to this bacon means you will find me sleeping outside it on a night waiting for the smell of godly bacon to awake me.

Visiting York last weekend we stopped off at this place. We only had tea - no food, but that was enough! The woman serving was joining in with a conversation with what must be regulars (old men) who were sitting down. The language was disgusting, nearly every other word was 'f' this or 'f' that or some derogatory term for women. One of the men had a dog loose that kept begging for food and pestering customers. The woman serving had no interest in any customers that I could see apart from the group of old men. Nothing looked very clean and I certainly would not have eaten any of the 'swill' that was being served. Next time I'm in York I will avoid this place and use one of the several other 'nicer and friendlier' establishments.

Ordered a bacon sandwich and a tea. Bacon was very fatty and salty, tea was OK. The woman serving was miserable and appeared to only be interested in her phone and not my custom. Handled cash and food without gloves or washing too. Would not recommend or use again

It’s a campus canteen so don’t come with expectations that don’t remember that point. That said, food is cooked and presented well beyond any canteen food I’ve ever experienced and the salad bar is by far the freshest, tastiest array of salad you’ll ever be served. Friendly staff too. Enjoy!

The Exhibition is a grand old pub dating from 1702 that is situated on a very busy junction opposite Bootham Bar in York. As you enter up the steep couple of steps you are greeted by dark and atmospheric front room which is split by the central bar, it's a mish mash of Victorian and Art Deco with every single bit of wall space occupied with old photos, paintings, brasses and other Breweriana. There are wood panels, glowing yellow lighting and rich dark red ceiling which envelops you into the cosy space. There's so much to take in, especially the Art Deco stained glass panels and large fireplace, you'd almost be distracted from the offerings behind the bar. Which are not the most exciting but there's at least usually a couple of beers from Brew York, Black Sheep and Timothy Taylors, all priced at the usual City centre prices. Where The Exhibition really excels is it's outside space, if you follow your way around to the back of the bar and down a fairy light lit corridor it opens out first into a large conservator which is used for group bookings and then out into what is clearly the biggest and best Beer Garden in York! A beautifully secluded long yard with mature plants and great vintage wall art throughout. The only slight let down is the rather Victorian toilets which could probably do with a bit of an update but otherwise this is a very much overlooked pub that is superb in Summer and would be nice and welcoming inside any time of the year.
