Fantastic birthday family meal at Browns this evening this was our first visit and it certainly didn't disappoint. Magdelena was amazing. Excellent service from her and atmosphere very nice . Thank you.

What a lovely spot! We stayed in Eton the evening prior to flying from Heathrow and had dinner at Browns. Great appetizers and main courses were delicious - the baked cod was phenomenal! Our server, Magdalena, was fabulous - very accommodating with our 'off menu' drink requests and made some really good food suggestions. The atmosphere was perfect - warm and inviting with a fresh feel.

The most loveliest place I've been to. We booked on the day for a table and was greeted and taken to our seats. We had an amazing server Cristina who came and chatted. She was the highlight of the day! If you ever go to there just talk to the servers and chat to them.. AThe service was amazing and the food was quite good.Really can't wait to go back. We had a great meal as a family of 4. Food was really nice and the cocktails were delicious. Staff were also super helpful and friendly. Felt a bit cheated when the bill arrived. They had added a 20% service charge, a little high but I accepted that and was happy to pay. When the card reader came the waitress had already set it up to to the ‘add tip’ section and was explaining how I could add 20% to go straight to the server. I questioned the service charge and she said this additional tip was just if I wanted to. If I had not been so aware I would have ended up paying 40%! As a tourist trap please beware. Has put me off returning.

We had our Marriage Ceremony party at Browns, Windsor on the 15th June, 2024 - and were a group of 15 for Brunch. Though we had pre-booked and pre-paid, the arrangements were quite spot-on. Magdalena & Iva were our waitresses - and looked after us very well. Though the service started off a bit slowly, it picked up as we went along. Both ladies entertained all our requests and were very accommodating (including letting us cut our wedding cake that was ordered from elsewhere)! Thank You to you both for helping make the day memorable for us!

Stopped for lunch with friends, had a great experience from the welcome and service of the very professional staff, to the very well presented and delicious food and drink. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather, good food, good cheer with good friends.

Must have hit a bad night judging by the other reviews. Didn't even come close to being as good as Fawlty Towers. The list of errors, of which there were many, were acknowledged and we were suitably recompensed, for which I am grateful. However it doesn't get away from the poor standards......tables were sticky and smeary, menus likewise. Toilets uncleaned. Food had the feeling of being airline quality i.e prepared off site and merely heated in the kitchens. Not impressed.

Called in on spec with a friend and we were warmly welcomed. The service and the surroundings are excellent as is the food. Nothing was too much trouble for our server . I have rare food allergy and they checked several times as well.

Came to browns early June for my anniversary - the first one with our newborn! We were greeted by Magdalena who was amazing. She was attentive and so lovely. She even got us a complimentary anniversary dessert to end our lunch. She went the extra mile and doing so with a lovely smile. Can’t wait to come back and see you again Magdalena - thank you so much!

We walked into the restaurant at 1.30pm, and never got food served until 3pm! We got offered 1 drink from the time we entered until we had to request where are meal was. Truly and utterly disappointed in every aspect. The staff walk around like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders, huffing and puffing and making you feel wrong for asking for simple requests like sauces etc! We spent money on two chateau briands which you’d hope would be top notch for a restaurant such as Browns. It was the worst we’d ever had! The first one ordered in medium came out quite literally black, covered in charcoal, nowhere near medium. We complained and they offered to re-cook it, the second one came out the EXACT same! The worst steak we have ever had in our lives. We’d have been better off going to the fish and chip shop! Absolutely vile.

Amazing food and wonderful service by the lovely Magdahlena. Had a chicken snitzel and partner had pulled lamb highly recommend

I went with a friends on Saturday night and was so impressed! Great, delicious cocktails. Was pleasantly surprised by the range of food on offer and the very reasonable prices. Particularly nice service provided by Magdalena - a very nice , friendly and lovely girl, we had a wonderful time thanks to her! The food is fresh and aesthetically presented. We love the atmosphere There's a great buzz about the place. We will definitely be going back and will recommend Browns to our friends and family. Thank you very much Magdalena See you soon ❤️

Four of us went for lunch we should of known when in took hour to get drink we all ordered pasta when it eventually arrived it was cold and the service was no better

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to make an account and post one as the server we had today deserves to be recognised. His name is Valentin as printed on the receipt. He was entertaining, jolly and just exceptional! He catered to me and my best friends who were both visiting from the countryside. He was prompt, smart, had a rather friendly personality as well as being knowledgable about the food. The food was sublime, I had the pork belly, thanks to Valentin’s recommendation, it’s something that’s not to be missed on the menu! The only downside I could think of was their toilets which doesn’t seem to be looked after very well, other than that we had a great time and we will definitely be back soon!

We ordered one starter and 2 mains. The hamburger looked very poor already on the plate...Actually was dry and cold. Fries as side were floppy and cold and they tasted like fried in a very old oil. Very disappointed. My partner didn't want to complain because to have warm food should be a Must. If you can provide it our complain wouldn't have made any difference. The cost is 16.50 pounds is not 4 like McDonald.

Went for bottomless brunch today. Ezther was fantastic every step of the way. Always on top and making sure the belinis never ran dry. Literally getting the eye contact in before my glass was even empty, and loving it too. Sometimes bottomless brunch instills a sense of guilt to take it to the limit, but we're British, you say 1.5 hours of unlimited drink? Let's go. Ezther was the shepherd of the belinis and took us to the Holy Land. Sorted us outside too with a little espresso martini on the side - go on then. Food was decent to.

The staff was very friendly and we had a lovely table , the food was excellent the only fault I found was with the cocktails my pina colada was in the wrong glass and full of ice something was definitely missing

Slow grumpy service. Disappointing and overpriced food. I asked for an Old fashioned cocktail, using rum instead of bourbon - apparently that wasn’t possible- how odd for a bar that prides itself on cocktails.

Pre booked a table on the 28th May, for 6, as we were celebrating my daughters 40th and my husbands retirement. On arrival, we were directed to a table upstairs which was set for only 5. The sun was glaring down on the table and incredibly hot. We asked if we could be seated elsewhere and was told he would go and find out. After 10 minutes, he had not returned, so we asked another waiter. On seeing our discomfort, he immediately moved us and kindly offered to bring us ice water. The initial man returned, said that the table we were not sat at was reserved for a larger party and would we follow him down stairs. He then directed us to the window table, where the sun was even worse. ( time to invest in some blinds I think!!). By this time, we were ready to leave until someone else seated us elsewhere. 20 minutes later apart from the nice young waiter from upstairs bring us the water, no one had been to collect even our drinks order. There were tables around us, full of dirty plates and glasses. Not quite the setting we had in mind. My daughter eventually asked if someone could take our order and within 15 minutes we had our drinks and food, which I must say was nice, nicely presented and hot, but nothing special given the price tag. As we were in Windsor for a long weekend and have never visited this establishment before, I can not comment as to whether this was their usual standard of service. I did not remove the 10% service charge ( almost £15), as I decided that due to the present Covid situation, the hospitality staff had been hit hard enough and maybe we went on a bad day. However, in ‘normal times, I would not have hesitated. Service was incredibly poor, the atmosphere resembled a cheap cafe and in my opinion £160 best spent elsewhere.

Booked online 2:15 arrived 5 minutes early, got sat straight away. By 2:35 still no one had come to take a drinks order let alone food!!!! We got up and left after 20 minutes. Some staff stood waiting for someone to serve yet we were totally over looked for some reason. I understand the circumstances we are in but I’m in the industry and my customers don’t wait 20 minutes for a drink let alone any food. Absolutely diabolical.

Well what can I say, the afternoon tea was booked online, we arrived just before our slot and told the guy in the door we were booked for afternoon tea, we were seated and 10 minutes later we were asked what we wanted by the manager, we explained we were in for a pre-booked afternoon tea. The waiter arrived 10 minutes later and asked us what we wanted to order, we explained we wanted the afternoon tea as already discussed with 2 staff members. 30 minutes later we went to chase up the afternoon tea, only to be told that nobody had ordered anything, so our dried up sandwiches arrived in due course and we started to eat. After this appalling service the manager explained that the food would be complimentary but we had to pay for the champagne, which was reasonable, the piece de resistance was the hard bit in my mouth from the lemon drizzle cake, what was that I hear you ask?? A fingernail, yes an actual lemon drizzle flavoured fingernail! Never again, just never.

Went there for lunch on a busy Bank Holiday Sunday. Good to see the restaurant busy but the music inside was very loud. This made it difficult to talk or hear anyone but we also have an autistic child who gets anxious about loud music. Fortunately our waitress, Magdalena, was very understanding when we mentioned our issue and immediately arranged for the music to be turned down. This was very much appreciated.Food was good but children’s burger was quite stingy and pretty small for children over 7 or 8. Also noticed a number of guests wandering around inside the dining area or in and out of the indoor restaurant without wearing face masks, which I didn’t think was allowed.

Incredible how it’s gone down hill filthy dirty as you can see who ever had moped the floors in the past didn’t go to the edges. Untrained staff 3 couples left around us waiting to get served. We ordered and were asked what lemons were I was sorry for the staff member he had no idea what he was doing and should have been trained before a bank holiday weekend as the rest of the staff were run off there feet exceptional... trained well were were just unlucky to get one who came to the next table told them 3 times I’ll be back and never got an order taken in 20 mins. I felt so sorry for him once I’d sent our drinks back once.

Cafe food with restaurant prices. Noisy, lots of drunks and the smell of cigarette smoke wafting in from outside made the whole evening a pretty unpleasant experience. White wine was warm and had to swap for the coldest they could find which was more expensive and only after complaining did they reduce the price of it to match the one we wanted. The 'slow roasted' pork belly was not cooked properly and like rubber. £7 for 3 tiny scoops of ice cream. The waiters tried but clearly inexperienced and never once asked how things were. We were given one tatty menu between 4 of us. Extremely disappointing.

Had a lovely birthday meal with my mum. Regardless of pandemic restrictions, the staff were accommodating and doing the best they could to keep customers settled and enjoying their meals. Outdoor seating -recommend the fish and chips with a glass of vino! Thank you Browns!

Came for afternoon tea, this is a lovely location and the staff were really friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea was amazing, looked great and was super tasty. The chocolate pot was the stand out.

Was looking forward to a post lockdown brunch with friends. Despite pre booking - there were some items not available ... spinach... surely someone could have popped to a local supermarket to get some. Pancakes and fruit... not available. It was a limited menu to start with. Cooked breakfast was mainly cold, no white on the poached eggs. Numbers are known in advance - better planning of covers is needed. Wouldn’t go back, there are many other places offering a better experience.

We popped in for an impromptu meal at 12.00 today. We were welcomed and given a choice of tables. The menu was so impressive it took us a while to choose! I had the monkfish, while my husband had the ribeye. Both were superb and washed down with great drinks. The lovely waitress Magdalena was attentive, cheerful and very helpful. Overall we had a great time, and Browns was filling up by the time we were leaving, all adding to the warm atmosphere.

I arrived a minute or two before the booking time and was shown to a table upstairs. The waiter told me he'd show my 3 companions to the table when they arrived. The time passed and nobody turned up. I checked my phone, nothing. Perhaps they were delayed as I'd noticed heavy traffic from the train. Little did I know they were at another table downstairs. I sent them a message via WhatsApp, nothing. Signal issues perhaps. About 30 minutes after I arrived it got sorted. Apparently the waiter was new and didn't know much about the process. An improvement to the induction training might be an idea. I was offered a dessert on the house in recompense. The rest of the afternoon went without a hitch, thank god. The food was fine, the drink flowed and the service downstairs was pretty good.

Browns never fails to serve gorgeous food with a cosy yet fancy atmosphere. Our server, Magdalena, was lovely and very welcoming to us, making my birthday special and memorable.

Nice food and lovely waitress. Visited last weekend with my brother, we didn’t book and still managed to get a table which was very lucky. The food was lovely and the setting beautiful. Our waitress Cristina was so lovely and very attentive.

Still quite exciting to be eating in a restaurant even if the proximity to the road is a challenge to make oneself heard my fish n chips was good and a friend ordered a chicken and avocado salad which she enjoyed. Some reviews are panning the did but ours was enjoyable. Victorija is excellent and has that essential knack of appearing at just the right time, Browns would do well to hang on to her

she was so kind, and she surprized me with a birthday ice cream and plate after a delicious breakfast with my family. We arrived to our booking for the front of house staff member asking for an email for confirmation. I explained we did not have an email, only a text message confirmation as the booking was made on the phone. She said there is no time on here and how am I meant to know which Browns this is for. Her tone was as if she was telling us off for not being able to find our booking and the message that was sent from the company she worked for? Whilst we were going through all this, there were plenty of spare tables... we were eventually seated. The gentleman who served us was very attentive and trying his hardest to keep all tables happy. The food and drinks however were not good. It has to be the smallest piece of fish I have been served from a takeaway, shop bought or in a restaraunt by a mile, I would have felt embarrassed to serve it. The linguine was completely overcooked and dry. I would avoid going here, gogo's out of the town is much better with similar views of the Thames.

Warm in a cold day with heaters. Enjoyed wine in great company. Will definitely go back when in Windsor next.

Booked early as a family of 3, girlfriend and 5 year old to celebrate lockdown easing. Perfectly nice meal, great attentive waitor and then enter the most horrible and unpleasant member of waiting staff I have ever met. My Indian partner and 5 year old son desperate for the toilet were refused access to the toilets and told to go visit the public toilets. I thought this was weird as they have a duty to provide especially to patrons. I then saw countless people going in to use the facilities. After they returned I asked the same manager that refused my partner and child access and she just simply pointed them out inside the restarant. I then challenged why my Indian partner and child were sent onto the street without a hint of manners or politeness. She simply said, "I didn't think they had a booking here". I responded "did you not ask, ?" She replied "no I didn't ". There was no sincere apology, no remorse, no apology to my partner or son. Utter disgrace and shame. Whether there was a intentional racism or not which clearly was likely, it was the worst the case of customer service I have seen in 40 years.Well done Browns of Windsor, on the first day post lockdown you drove a mother and child to tears by the river after spending £80 in your establishment. I only hope the manager in question get held accountable at some point for her actions towards customers.

I don’t know if it’s ok to feel this insanely happy about food but there you are! I’m on a random day off and treated myself to the asparagus curry and Christmas pudding. So blinking delicious and every mouthful is a mmmmm moment!!

We dined here on a quick day out in Windsor before lockdown again and popped in hoping for a table. Magdalena served us with a friendly smile and made great recommendations for roast Sunday lunch. Service was quick and friendly with great river views from our table. Our roasts were nice and really filling. Definitely will return after the next lockdown

Treat for my partner on her birthday. Her main was ok. My fish and chips was underwhelming. Quality wasn’t great and size, it was tiny. I thought it was a kids portion

Visited Browns for afternoon tea today. This is a restaurant/brasserie so not somewhere where you are going to get elegant Georgian lounges with log fires and beautiful decor. It was clean and pleasant and in a great location right next to the river. The food was fine. Small sandwiches, weeny scones and tiny cakes. Portion sizes were very small but actually you left feeling normal rather than completely stuffed! Personally felt that at £19.50 a head it was expensive for what you got. A glass of champagne was an extra £8 - bit it was very nice! Service was excellent and ladies loo was clean. Enjoyable visit.

Came here on our 2nd night in Windsor. Food was tasty but with the exception on my Wifes Lobster Risotto the portions were on the small size. The most expensive meal we have had on our holiday. Staff were good but difficult to hear through a mask and background noise

Wow, what a fantastic way to celebrate a retirement. We chose Browns to host a very special family meal for a 50 year retirement and we cannot fault the attentive service that we received. Having been extremely helpful over both email and phone the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Our server, Christina, was amazing and made sure everything was perfect through out the evening. Nothing was too much trouble and she was constantly smiling, wanting to make the occasional as special as she possibly could. To top it off the food was fantastic and full of flavour. Thank you to all of the team- we look forward to coming back soon.

We had a lovely meal at Browns. Delicious sourdough bread. Thoroughly enjoyed my prawn cocktail and steak pie. Niko and Cristina served us and were just lovely. They made my 3 year old daughter feel so grown up and really included as they spoke to her directly when she ordered, which she loved. We all left very full and very happy! Thank you.

4 amigos celebrando un cumpleaños. La mesa estaba reservada para 6. 30 pm un sábado. La comida estaba bien, los cócteles eran encantadores, pero el servicio fue muy lento. Esperamos 45 minutos para pedir nuestros postres. Llegó a las 6. 30 pm, tenía nuestro plato principal y no conseguimos postres hasta después de las 9 pm. Solo muestra lo lento que fue todo. Nunca lo hubiéramos logrado si también hubiéramos querido empezar. Sin embargo, tuvimos una noche divertida.

Has potential to be good however: when we arrived only allowed a terrible table next to kitchens and bar, not allowed to sit outside - chef came out and shouted abuse at the waiter. Other staff arguing loudly at till next to us. Felt so uncomfortable at our sticky table we left.

Came in with a group of friends and we all had the complimentary pineapple cocktails which were amazing and all had the best food. Sat on the balcony on the lake was the best part of the experience too

Tomamos bebidas seguidas de sándwiches bellamente dispuestos y pasteles pequeños en un puesto de pasteles moderno, decidimos tomar el nuestro con champán, que era un extra, seguido de café.La mesa estaba reservada de 3 a 5, pero pudimos sentarnos en nuestra mesa hasta las 7 pm cuando nos pidieron que nos mudáramos a otra mesa cuando llegaban los comensales de la noche.Claramente estaban bajo presión para cumplir con las condiciones actuales, tratando de asegurarse de que el espacio entre las mesas fuera correcto, etc., sentimos lástima por todos ellos usando máscaras durante tanto tiempo.Nuestra camarera Magdelene fue tan encantadora, de hecho, todo el personal fue muy amable.Todos sentimos que tenía un precio razonable para lo que teníamos, que era suficiente.En general, es un lugar agradable y bien equipado para ir, también me encantó la decoración.

Entiendo totalmente que es un requisito del gobierno que todos usen las máscaras. Pero en lugar de decirnos que no se nos permitió entrar, el restaurante debería ofrecer máscaras en el frente. Estábamos listos para irnos sin cenar, pero el gerente nos ofreció la solución. Nos cubrimos la cara y caminamos hasta nuestra mesa. Soy madre de tres niños pequeños y puede suceder que me olvide de las máscaras en el coche. Creo que sería genial si los restaurantes comenzaran a ofrecer máscaras (especialmente cuando vimos que tienes máscaras en tu armario), es un momento muy difícil y no quieres perder a ninguno de tus clientes. El caballero no se preocupaba por sus clientes, cuando el restaurante no estaba ni medio lleno.Pero, no hay puerto deportivo, ¡la comida es genial! Y camarera haciendo un trabajo brillante.

I brought my parents to Browns for a celebration meal, and was warm welcomed. My parents can be quite fussy when it comes to food and drinks - however, we was well looked after, food was fantastic in quality and well priced. My parents were incredibly happy, and was loved how they were treated with their 20 questions. - Mario, the bartender, was awesome, he was friendly , polite - funny! He really looked after us and made our experience fantastic. Thank you!

Popped in after a stroll down the Thames, and decided on a burger and fries. Service was great, and the bartender Mario convinced me to have a few bourbon cocktails with cinnamon? Definitely tasty. Price was fair and location is great.

Never met a bartender so good at his job! Ckearly helping out he flitted between hosting us and helping at the table. Recommended some great cocktails and made our visit amazing. All I can say is super Mario!

Some friends and I visited browns recently, and we felt that we needed to leave a special mention to Mario, who had honestly given the best service. He was so friendly and was always attentive towards us, serving the best cocktails we've had in ages. I would highly recommend visiting Brown's to anyone after this visit.

Walked past many times but never popped in. Enjoyed my time immensely and staff were very friendly. Never really tried many cocktails but with some guidance from Mario behind the bar ended up with some delicious drinks! Will certainly be back soon!

Though we were initially worried about dining out due to the current situation, we had a lovely welcome. Magdalena, our waitress, was very attentive and accommodating. Magdalena had the experience to let us eat at our pace and not intrude until we needed her. Food was excellent. Even though there were other groups of diners, we were all looked after superbly. We had a very nice Sunday family lunch. We were celebrating a birthday which the restaurant had been told about. The service and hospitality we received by the staff was exceptional and our day was made special thanks to our lovely waitress Magdalena who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience possible. The profiteroles were the best I have ever had.

Two of us visited on Wednesday evening without a reservation for food and drinks and was seated right away. The restaurant section we were in was pretty much full and our waitress Magdalene was non stop but every time approached our table with warm smile. The food was nice and reasonably priced with minimal waiting time between courses. Will definitely revisit.

Out of a party of five, only two of us were satisfied with our meals. 2 had the roasted fillet of salmon and both felt the meal was a very small portion and in fact we ordered an extra dish of fries as the meal seemed so small. The sautéed potatoes tasted just like boiled potatoes. The other meal was a steak and Guinness pie, unfortunately only one piece of steak was found. It was full of carrots and mushrooms. We told the waitress and she did offer a replacement but this would have arrived after the rest of us had finished so this was positively resolved by removing the cost of the meal from the bill. We thought the drinks were overpriced (Prosecco at £30).Our waitress Kristina was very helpful and efficient. We’ve eaten at Browns in Brighton and Cambridge but not for about 3 years, but enjoyed great meals.Sadly we just thought this was very overpriced for what it was and wouldn’t bother going back.

We had an amazing evening at Browns today and our waitress Magdalena was just a superstar. She was totally attentive throughout our meal. Great customer service, fantastic mannerism, the food especially the pork belly was divine and a lovely evening that we will remember.

Sat down as a couple, and ordered the steak pie and burger. Both extremely mediocre, with portions on the snidey side with any veg outside of potato an extra cost. Other menu options left little to be desired. Staff hurried us through the entire process like EasyJet staff with a plane about to take off. Very disappointing, especially given the current climate where service, and quality is king.

This is a vibrant, very large brasserie situated alongside the Thames. We had an outside terrace table and were seated amongst various loud groups of people drinking shots (not the restaurant's fault but it did mean that a yearned-for quiet evening descended into a noisy, uncomfortable experience). That staff were friendly but when they served but were completely overwhelmed by the number of guests and so service was frustratingly slow. We waited a long time to be asked what we wanted to drink and the same again for the food to be delivered. We weren't asked about desert so we paid and left. The food was presented nicely but the portions were small and steak very tough. Prices here are on the high side (£30 for a bottle of prosecco) and so we expected much higher standard overall - we didn't get it!

Received excellent service from Niko last night at Browns, very diligent, friendly and attentive. Food as always was good and slightly overpriced as you expect from Browns compared to others. Thanks Niko for a great experience!

Had desserts and drinks. The desserts were v average and expensive. Thankfully the gov scheme was there !! Service ok but of course charged. Also the maitre d was a mini hitler and spoke in a unfriendly manner both with guests and staff.

Me and my partner came for dinner, we first of all got greeted with a lady who didn't seem like she wanted to be there so we were abit thrown off to begin with. however Magdalene well and truly made up for this service, she was absolutely amazing, so polite, hospitable, kind, friendly. a true credit to the staff team!! she helped us decide on a wine! always seeing if we were okay and just a lovely smile! thankyou Magdalene!!

Had a superb afternoon tea overlooking the river. Delicious, abundant array of sandwiches, rolls, cakes and scones. There was a delightful chocolate mousse with chocolate crumb, decorated with a pansy flower and strawberry in a real chocolate flowerpot! We couldn't manage it all and took the rest home in a box for the kids. We had a glass of Moet and a gin and tonic as well as tea and it was good value. Unhurried service which suited us as we were happy to be left alone but may have got a little irritating if we'd wanted anything else. Comfortably spaced with one way system and plenty of hand sanitiser made for an enjoyable return to (semi) normality.

We enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch on Bank Holiday Monday for five. The table was well situated with the castle to the back of us and the river in front. Lots of space and we weren’t rushed at all despite it being the last day of the Eat out to Help out discount!The food was delicious and our waitress, Magdalena, was very attentive and ensured we were welcomed and looked after very well. Would highly recommend.

We booked for a family lunch on Bank Holiday Monday at 1.45pm ; the restaurant was nicely busy and there was a great atmosphere; our table had great views over the river and we had fantastic service from our waitress, Magdalene- who looked after us very well. Food and wine were great - ample portion sizes and great tasting. Everywhere was clean, airy and spacious and the restaurant seemed to be following covid 19 protocols well. Would recommend

A quintessential British bar and restaurant overlooking Thames river that I highly recommend! Friendly and welcoming staff, food was delicious and great value for money. Kids loved it, too!

Booked a table for an early Sunday brunch at 10am. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but getting busier when we left. Our waitress was Magdalena, who was lovely and looked after us very well. My husband had the traditional breakfast, which was plentiful and very good. I had smashed avocado on sourdough, which was described as a light breakfast. It’s a certainly a light breakfast, as the portion was very small, but it was tasty. When we were there everything was very clean, and they seemed to be following Covid protocols well. We were pleased that the tables were well spaced out.

We had our first night away from home since lockdown for our wedding anniversary yesterday. We booked a table and had a fantastic meal with a really lovely waitress called Magdalena - she could not have been more helpful - found us a lovely table to sit at and was constantly on hand checking everything was ok - which it was - food was lovely - scallops, pate, fish pie & pork belly and then amazing cheesecake and salted caramel profiteroles for pudding - with Happy Anniversary written on the pudding plate - thanks so much for making our anniversary meal a special one - highly recommended

After the induced pain of staying indoors for months on end, each outing counts. We just happened to be passing by the Browns Brasserie, and heedless of it being the day when the government scheme to support the eateries (Eat Out to Help Out, Monday to Wednesday) was active, we dropped in. The place was abuzz with all fellow sufferers who were enjoying a late lunch in a cosy but classy place overlooking the river. Because of the popularity of the scheme we couldn't find a place downstairs and had to console ourselves with a table on the first floor. So far, so dampening for the mood. But lo and behold, all is not lost when you end up in the hands of a young, pretty and extremely professional waitress. Magdalena her name was and, in the end, we were very happy of both being there and having her looking after us. Have you tried to rush up and down the stairs, champagne flute after champagne flute in hand for two hours? And smile? And chat? And be a sunray to behold? The menu was the Browns signature sophistication for reasonable prices, but it was thanks to Magdalena that the victory was firmly snatched from the jaws of a very nearly mediocre experience. My advice? Go to Browns Windsor, seek out Magdalena but do make sure that if it's the three first days in the week, you book!
