Me and my mum came here yesterday . The lady that served us .was very welcoming and very helpful.. we sat outside . The drinks and the food were excellent and so was the service she gave us .. we will come back again ...

Was out walking and saw that Browns was open stopped for an Americana and it was lovely , great customer service also looked at the menu and it looked great so will be returning once life gets back to normal when every that might be !!

Stopped here for a late breakfast as we were in the area & hungry. I think it has changed hands since the previous poor reviews. The young staff were welcoming, friendly & efficient, & the cafe was warm & comfy. The Americano coffees were nice & strong, & the cooked breakfasts were outstanding. Highly recommended.

I loved the coffee here and my girls also loved the hot chocolate they even came with flakes which they loved all I can say is thank you Brownes cafe!!

Newish to the area and looking for a good independent Coffee Shop, we popped into Browns for coffee today. One Latte and one Black Americano. The clue is in the Black. Sadly brown tasteless insipid water came. They are either skimping on the coffee or just using cheap coffee. That’s one to cross off the list.

Found an acrylic nail in my food- went to complain and the owner said that’s funny I lost one a week ago. Completely disgusting

Ordered ham salad and cheese salad sandwiches on granary. Bread was really nice, filling was terrible. The salad on both consisted of iceberg lettuce piled on - not good. Would not recommend ☹️ Go the one of the other cafes instead

I purchased 2 breakfast rolls 1 was sausage and egg and the other was bacon and mushrooms to take away and they were just what was needed. Thanks

Popped in for a coffee one lunch time, decided to try the delicious sounding scrambled egg, salmon and dill. It was absolutely delicious and they had no trouble accommodating a gluten free diet, everything on the menu but the lasagne can be made gf! The coffee was also just right and to top it off everything was very reasonably priced. Happy to recommend and will come here again.

Sunday morning, outside seating and the best breakfast roll ever. A great place - bit small inside but you can't help logistics. A very wide and varied breakfast menu, definitely something for everyone. Service was a little slow, but they were busy.

Nice little cafe with extensive menu. Friendly and attentive staff. Lots of choice and the slimming friendly options suited one of us. Good portions and struggling to fault it apart from the roll was a little dry.

I have been visiting this coffee shop every weekday morning for the last three weeks before going to work. The service is always excellent and the staff are always friendly. I have started having a cooked breakfast on a friday, the food is really good and is competitively priced. I will continue to visit this coffee shop.

This place used to be classy and a nice place to go, but I’m afraid it’s been taken over and it’s ok but not great. Sticky table, bland cheap tasting coffee and cheap looking plastic menus. The sandwich was ok, the brownie to be fair was lovely. You can only use your card if the bill is at least £10... It’s a real shame this place has been taken over. It used to have a great feel. Now I think it’s a bit cheap feeling and naff.

Met up with a friend here for coffee at around 2.45 on a weekday. I'd checked the closing time online so we wouldn't be rushed (some cafes close at 3pm). Firstly the coffee machine wasn't working and I thought they'd offered us instant but it turned out they could only do cold drinks or tea. Then he mentioned that they would be closing soon (around 3.30pm). I queried this as it definitely said 5pm closing on line and I think the sign on the door said 5pm too. The chap said that when the manager wasn't there they would close early (I wonder if he knows!). He promised that we wouldn't be rushed out and the 3.30 closing was only to stop new customers coming in. They brought the teas, two large cups which didn't fit the saucers they came with and one small pot of tea. I managed to pour 1.5 cups and had to ask for more. As anticipated, they started packing up around 3.30. To be fair there was another customer there who showed no sign of going anywhere but we felt uncomfortable as if we were holding them up so by 3.55 we'd had enough hints so paid and left.

Fab slimming lunch. I ordered spaghetti bolognese which was delicious. There was a huge mound of food and a side salad too! Yum Great waiter, very attentive

My wife and I popped in whilst passing. The welcome was warm, the food fresh and tasty with excellent coffee. We'll go back soon

Crappy food, crappy service, and bad attitude for the staff as well as giving me gone off milk for my pot of tea. Found out this place has no food hygiene certificate at all ?!? Stay well away from this place.

Popped in around lunchtime, very friendly and helpful. Salmon &cream; cheese bagels and a breakfast, was delicious. Will be back soon!

Had a bit of time to grab some lunch in Downend and visited this little coffee shop again. (third visit). Always get a warm welcome and can't fault the service.

We were offered a free meal as our eggs benedict was bad. Thanks to the Manager for doing that and heard they've taken on advice and improved the food.

Definitely recommend. We asked if they did gluten free and the very helpful lady said " everything can be made gluten free except lasagna". wow. My daughter plumped for spaghetti carbonara. She was very impressed. We only had a small wait but it was made freshly for her. I went for a burger. The portions are really big and I had to leave most of the fries. But everything was very tasty. Fresh and delicious. Going to go back for breakfast next time

It's weird as yesterday I had the best Colombian breakfast with avacado which had a smooth taste to it.

Visit this place regularly for breakfast with colleagues. Today, the breakfast was lovely and the coffee was finally extra hot which is what I asked for! Worth a visit!

Me and my boyfriend visited for brunch today. I ordered bacon and pancakes with maple syrup. They didnt bring any maple syrup out so I asked the young girl to get me some, she came back with a tiny pot with just a dribble inside, almost looked like it was the leftovers of someone elses table. I told her that it was not enough so she said she would go get me some more. She then came back and said “sorry we don’t have any more syrup we have ran out, do you want some honey instead?” I said no and just asked for the refund instead as I was not told when ordering that there was no syrup and would have ordered differently if I had. The young lady was very polite and agreed and took it away. The older woman then came back and said that she had made a mistake and there was in fact some syrup so I said ok I will have that then please but she proceeded to bring out the tiny pot of syrup that the young girl had already showed me. I told the older woman that again, this was not enough.She said thats fine I will fill it up more for you. She did this and brought it out, when I tasted it I realised that they had added honey instead of more syrup. This is disgusting as I had explicitly told them I did not want honey. I could have been allergic and felt incredibly violated that they tried to deceive me in this way. I did not say anything as I’m not the most confident or confrontational and in the end the food was ok, and my partner was happily eating his food. I was just shocked that they would purposely try and hide a food which I had already told them I did not want in my syrup. They only did this because they didnt want me to not have paid for a dish. Disgusted with the older woman and her choice to proceed to deceive me. He food was pretty good it is just the staff - mainly that older woman who need to have a lesson in customer service and HONESTY.

We popped in for the first time for some breakfast. The coffee house was very clean & tidy. Their staff are polite and my cooked breakfast was cooked fine and tasted great. The wife’s scrambled eggs with salmon wasn’t what she expected. She expected the normal serving as it doesn’t state otherwise on the menu. She didn’t finish it due to the bland taste and bits of eggs shell in the food. We would still recommend this coffee house as not everyone is perfect & this coffee house is nice & clean.

Food and drink looked good but was a little bland, not sure if this was just because they were very busy. Staff were very friendly but seems that the manager was not present as was allowing young teenagers to run their business. I have concerns that staff are not being treated or payed fairly as the previous management did not do this and the current manager does not seem to be taking control of the business, could be a lovely shop with the right management.

I went for the first time with a friend for coffee and lunch.

I have visited this place on numerous occasions with my two colleagues. Over the past year we must have visited more than 15 times. We always have three skinny cappuccino extra hot! The thing that frustrates me with this establishment is that they do not understand the term extra hot! Out of the 15 times I have visited only once as my cappuccino been what I would class as extra hot. The rest of the time it has simply been warm. I understand that coffee is not made at the same temperature as tea, but I always find in this day and age more and more people are asking for extra heart so why not just turn the temperature of the machines up! Food wise, I always have the medium breakfast with black pudding. For most visits this breakfast has been beautiful but on the last three occasions standards have slipped. I am led to believe that the restaurant is now under new management, so perhaps there are some inconsistencies since this has taken place. I hope things start to improve soon. Overall 3 out of 5 from me.

This has been my regular stop off on a Saturday since it has opened but sadly over the past several weekends it now appears to be being run by teenagers. Not always a bad thing BUT... here are my examples of lack of customer service training, Take a seat and get given a menu no problem there. then wait 15 minutes whilst other people walk up to the counter and get served, 4 different people on this occasion.the odd one coming in for takeaway but these people then took a seat and even got their food before we even had our order taken. Ever since going to the cafe it has always been table service, when did it change . Very disappointing

It's quite small inside, but enough room for two buggies and there is seating outside. The decor has a welcome homely feel.

I had the full English breakfast and it was great , cooked superb. Great service and a wide choice of dishes on the menu .

Fairly small coffee shop which gets quite noisy when busy. We only had tea, but the food menu looked very good. Some tables outside, but a bit chilly this time of year. No toilet.

Went on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Small place but welcoming with a decent menu. Me and my son just had full English. Very nicely presented and did the job. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Will try lunch time menu next time.

This little cafe is not very big physically but my goodness it hits well over it's weight in the food and service stakes. The decor is traditional wooden seats and tables with additional seating outside, with a host of little trinkets inside making it special. There are two menus and just for fun I tried the special eggs florentine (OMG!) totally gorgeous. The staff are so friendly and nothing is to much bother (even my annoying 7 year old who decided to choose something not on the menu...they still did it for him !)
